Hellow,
I have a editable report with form, in the form i want to put a field with a link to a report where you can select the value it needs to have.
And rederects you back to the form where the selected field is now displayed as the link to the report.

Looking for a code to link a form field(text_1, on page #5) to
another, new form field(text_2, on pages 2-4).

busy but here's why
In the PDF, there are Form fields on page 5 which interface (externalinterface) with an RMA ( a SWF) on page 2.
This all works well.
As the form fields must be carried forward (from page 5 to page 2... to interface the RMA),
the orignal page 5, From fields are copied to pages 2-4 and then "Hidden".
Again, this works just fine.
A reset "action" (button) was added to, well, clear the Form Field for easy reuse.
The reset ''action' does it's job and clears ALL form fields with the same "Name".... on every /all pages.
This causes the dynamic interface, with the RMA, to display blank fields (within the SWF).
This will effect the User's experience.

Work aound.....
Find a way to label the Form Fields (page 5) so that "only they" are reset, and no others.
Create a link of Form Field inputs on page 5 (with names... x,y,z),
to new Form Fields pages 2-4 (with a differnet names... a,b,c).

Type an account number into the Enquire table to get Client and Contact
Formula in B2 (and Fill Right)
=INDEX(Database::B,MATCH($A2,Database::$A,0))

Formula is
=INDEX(Database::D,MATCH(Enquire::$A2,Database::A,0))
All together:
Change it around if you want to look up by Client instead of Account

Database link in forms 6i stopped working in database 10g release 2.

Hi,
We have Forms 6i with all patches added.
We were able to recompile the form that contains database link in database 10g release 1 environment. Recently we migrated to database 10g release 2.
We still can run the form (previously compiled in database 10g release 1), but when we tried to modify the form and recompile it in databbase 10g release 2,
the forms developer closed down without giving any error message.
When we removed any reference to the database link from the form, we were able to recompile the form with no problem. Database Linkd in SQL works.
The question: what do we need to do in the database 10g release 2 to make the link in forms 6i work?

I recently upgraded my development environment from Forms 10.1.2.0.2 to Forms 10.1.2.3 and am experiencing the same problem -- not able to COMPILE a form that references a database link. The error is: "Error 352 at line 99, column 3 Unable to access another database 'LINKNAME'". This occurs on an UPDATE statement within PL/SQL code in a form trigger that used to compile and work fine.
I tried the database link in SQL Plus and the link is working fine.
Database environment is 10g 10.2.0.3 on Windows Server 2003.
Is anyone able to do this?

Link in form of a pictrue - change color when sweeping

Doing links in form of a word which change color when sweeping over them is simple in iWeb.
I wonder how I do if I not just want the color of the text but also an image to change.
Ex. I have a link in form of a bright cloud. When one sweep the mouse over it I want the cloud transform into a darker form of the same cloud.
Perhaps I need a codescript which connect two pictures of the cloud?

follow the below step to connect database from 6i forms.
Open C:\orant\net80\admin\tnsnames.ora in notepad as below.
ORCL =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = servername)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ORCL))
)look orcl as above in host put your servername or IP address where database installed . restart the pc and connect with scott/tiger@orcl.

there is a JavaBean example on technet that provides facilities for hyperlinking inside of web-deployed form applications. the hyperlink can have it's label/target set dynamically using the set_custom_property built-in. when the hyperlink is pressed, an event is triggered (when-custom-item-event) on a form item. you can obtain the target value of the link that was pressed and then do a programmatic action to handle the event, for example, using web.show_document(hyperlink.target,...) to invoke the browser and show the specified document.

does anyone know why this happens.
I have this main-menu.. and when i click on one of the submenus which should call the form....i get this error.

Same issue here... Been trying to get this working since a week now. I tried all the solutions like memory heap and all but no luck.
One thing that I would like to know is that, in some threads the resolution was to recompile the INS_FORMS.MK file under /forms/lib32 but with my installation I don't have that "lib32" folder under /forms/ and I can not even find that file anywhere in my entire installation.
I am using 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2008.
Any help or guidelines is greatly appreciated.

Linked PDF form fields

Is it possible to link two form fields together in a PDF form? I am creating a PDF form from an existing printed form, and some of the questions originally had two lines available for response. I want the user to still have two lines to use, but without having to tab between them. Can Acrobat 8 Professional "link" two fields together, so that input from one wraps into the other?

I tried that, but I had some issues spacing the text field out correctly so it lined up with the lines already in the document. Also, the two lines do not match up on both sides... It looks kind of like this:

i am creating Custom forms Main_menu
in that i am puting on button and
pl/sql code for when-button-pressed

i am getting:
ERROR:frm-40010: cannot read form GROUP_MSTR_ENTRY
also i am un able change the text colour in form.

How to link Two Forms??

i am trying to make a database in MS Access'97.i want to link 2 forms with one another.for this purpose i am using a command button in form 1 to go to form 2.the link is working fine..as expected...but the problem is: everytime i click on the command button to go to form 2, form 2 shows the details starting from record no. 1......whereas i want to see the details of that record on form 2, which is shown on form 1.say for eg. ...i am looking at the details of record 5 on form 1, then i want that when i click command button to go to form 2, then form 2 should allso show the other details of record 5 and not start from record 1(as is happening now).please guide me how to do it.

Passing Parameter from link to form

I have a form with a field called "ID". I created a LINK component to the form. I set the value of ID=2 on the 'Link Target Inputs' page hoping that when i run the link, the form opens with the ID field =2. However no value is passed. What am i doing wrong?

Button link a form

I put a button on a form and I would like to have the button to launch a form.
I tried to find the place to enter the link, but button property does not have link and target.
I just wanted to know if it is possible to have a button to link a form and launch it.

I am not sure what you mean by "have a button to link a form", but it's possible to have a button do any linking you want by MANUALLY adding some javascript to the code (there is no way to do this using just the DW user interface, unfortunately).

If what you mean by "launch a form" is "submit a form", then you can do that too -
