Link iPhone to Sony DAV-DX155 Home Theater System

Does anyone know how I can link my iPhone to play music through my Sony home theater system which is model DAV-DX155? I believe it would have to be a particular cable but I dont know which cable that would be. Please help. Thanks!

One thing that might help out.
A cable from the headphone jack to your system might be the way to go.

  • Sony Blue Ray Home Theater

    Hi ,
I am having SONY Blue Ray Home Theater System. I have hooked up the spekers to TV  (Sony Bravia HD) as well. When ever I put Blue Ray or normal DVD or CD, properly sound is not coming to all speakers. I mean, no human dialogues coming into all speakers. But Speakers are working perfectly with TV. I am having problem only with  Blue Ray, DVD & CDs.
Is there anyway I can rectufy this?
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Girish

Try pressing the Sound Mode button on your remote the next time your playing a Blu-ray, DVD, or CD. You can press this button repeatedly until the sound is distributed correctly through your speakers. You may have to do this again to change the sound mode when you switch between watching/listening to TV, Blu-ray, DVD, or CD.
If the above doesn't work out, you could also try pressing the Audio button repeatedly until sound is distributed correctly for what you're watching or listening to.
Hope this helps and good luck!

  • Sony Home Theater System DAV-HDX275

I just bought a home theater system and I am wonder how to connect it to get the best sound out of it while watching blue ray movies or just plain old TV?  There is a HDMI outputy on the back and a digital inout on the back.  Whic one should I use and get th best results
    Thanks!!!

The DAV-BC50 appears to have only stereo analog input ( pair of L/R RCA jacks). You need a cable with a stereo miniplug on one end and 2 RCA jacks on the other. The soundcard should be set to 2-speaker mode. The DAV-BC50 does not have any way accept discrete multichannel from the soundcard nor to accept encoded AC3/DTS from the soundcard. You can use Dolby Prologic II to get all your speakers going, but you should not use processing when playing DirectSound3D games because it will dilute the intended 3D soundfield produced from 2 speakers.

What do you guys think of them? Is there another set/brand that you would recommend over it?
I'm trying to get one for my dad for Christmas. I'd prefer to get one that is not over 500 dollars.

That last one you linked is not a All in one like the others as its just a Home Theater in a Box and does not have a integrated blu-ray player like the others. Which actually makes that one my first pick as non integrated solutions provide for a little room for future expansion. however if you want the integrated solution I would go with the 780W as it provides 2 HDMI inputs and a Component Input vs just the 2 HDMI inputs of the 280 model.

  • Linking Cisco Linksys E3000 uPnP media server to non uPnP Home Theater system

    Hi,
I have a Cisco Linksys E3000 Wireless Router. My home theater system does not have uPnP capabilities. That is it doesn't have the uPnP client like a PS3 or a Wii.
Is there a uPnP client that I can buy for the specific purpose of connecting to my home theater system via ethernet.
The resulting connection graph will be as follows: NAS (via USB) to E3000, E3000 to uPnP client (using ethernet), uPnP client to Home Theater system using audio in or HDMI.
    Thanks for your help!

If your Home Theater system has Ethernet port then I think you can try wireless bridge ( WET610N ) to make it wireless.

  • Connecting an ipod to a home theater system

I recently purchased a home theater system with a USB port claiming the system can play music files. When I connected my ipod to the system, all I got was the "do not disconnect" message on the ipod screen and no ability to play music. When making the same connection with a scandisk flash memory MP3 player, there was no issue with playing the music. I am curious as to why the ipod will not play through this connection? I know I can connect the ipod through the audio in port on the home theater system, but by using the USB connection, I was hoping not only to play the music, but also charge the ipod as well. In addition to why my ipod will not play in this home theater system (RCA), is there another type of home theater system out there that does have a USB connection for the ipod to play through?

  • Playing iPod Mini through Home Theater system

    Hi all,
I have a Sony Home Theater system. It plays CDs, DVDs, AM/FM, and video from the TV. I bought a Monster cable to hook up my iPod Mini to the player (it has 2 jacks, a red and a blue one that goes to the player), hooked it up per the instructions (put the same color plug in the same color jack on the player), but no sound comes out. The menu options on the player are DVD, Video (which comes from the TV), FM and AM. I don't know how to program the player to make it play from the iPod, and as you can probably tell, I'm a girl and extremely technically challenged. I don't even know where to begin. Can someone offer some guidance, please? Thanks in advance!

There should be an auxiliary input on the Sony.
You need to select this input on the Sony.

  • Choosing a Budget Home Theater System

I'm looking to add theater sound to my family room, but my budget is pretty tight.  I currently have a Panasonic Plasma Screen that is connected to my cable box via HDMI, a Panasonic Blue Ray Player that connects to the tv via HDMI, and an XBox 360 that connects to the tv via component cables.
To be honest, I don't know much about theater systems, and I just want something that is decent sounding with the connections I need.  Can someone offer a few suggestions?  I see that Best Buy offers a couple systems for around $200, but I'm not sure that'll get me what I need to connect all of my devices.
    Thanks.

The first step to building a good home theater system(at any budget), is to decide where you will put speakers, and how you will handle wiring.
If your budget is $200, you're almost certainly looking at a modest satellite(small) speaker system. These are typically sold with a built-in DVD. The sound won't be anything speacial, but it will certainly outdo the TV alone.
I suggest investing in an actual surround receiver. Sony isn't known for the greastet sound quality, but there receiver usually pack alot a features for cheap. Yamaha has a some good offerings as well.
The most important part of any home theater system is the speakers. You you're gonna cut corners, do it on receiver, not the speakers. Assuming we spend about $100-$150 on the receiver, you'll need to pony up at least $400 for a decent speaker/powered subwoofer package. Best Buy has a pretty aggressive deal on the Quintet package from Klipsch for the day after Thanksgiving.
Sure you'll spend more money on a setup like this, but the sound and overall usefullness of a real receiver are worth the extra investment.

  • Converting Wired Home Theater System to Wireless

I have a Sony home theater system with standard components: center channel, subwoofer, front right, front left, rear left, and rear right speakers.
I would like to convert my rear speakers to wireless.
I have looked at the RocketFish converter kit; but it seems that I would still have wires emitting from rear receiver box.
Do  you have any suggetions?  Are their other brand options that will not be too expensive.
NOTE: I do not want to replace my current surround system.  I have a baby on the way, and need to be thrifty with my $s.
    Thanks,

Wireless is not true wireless, as you have found out. Also wireless will compromise the overall quality of the sound. There will be interference and static sometimes. Maybe when an appliance turns on or a car with bad plug wires drives by.

  • Networking with LG Home Theater System

I have an LG 47LW5600 TV and LHB976 Home Theater system. These are connected wirelessly via a Cisco Router to my Dell Laptop running Vista. I can readily access all my shared media files on the PC and display them on the TV. My problem now is that I have just bought a new IMAC running OSX 10.7.2 that is on the same network and none of the folders that I have set up to share on the IMAC will open on the TV/HT system. All of these folders are correctly listed on the TV when I go to the ‘select device or server’ page, so the TV is seeing them OK , but none of them will open. All I get is a message saying ‘a network error occurred’ with an option to either return to the home page or the server list.  I have run a network check on the IMAC and no problems were found.  Anybody out there had similar issues with this LG/IMAC combination? Would really appreciate some help with this as I intend to gradually move all my entertainment media to the IMAC from the Dell.

I believethe problem is your LG TV is probably looking for devices that support DLNA  (Digital Living Network Alliance) in order to stream or view folders, images, etc on the TV.
One easy way to add this capability to your Mac is to use a streaming media server app on your Mac.
I've reviewed the one from ElGato, which is linked above.
Let us know if that helps.

  • Trouble w/ the connection from my Panasonic Home Theater System

    So I recently purchased
    Panasonic - 5.1-Ch. 3D Blu-ray Home Theater System
    Panasonic - 50" Class / 720p / 600Hz / Plasma HDTV
and I already have a Att u-verse Box at my house
now I have the home theatre system and the ATT uverse connected to the TV with their own HDMI cables. The Att is connected to the 1st HDMI port and the home theatre is connected to the 2nd HDMI port.
The guy at the store said I could get surround sound when I'm watching cable if I got a Rocketfish Digital Optical Audio Cable and plugged it in to my uverse box,
but now I'm confused because I tried plugging it in from the uverse box to the TV and that didn't work, then i tried connecting it from the uverse box to the theatre system and that didn't work,
but the loop hole we found is that if we unplug the HDMI cable that is connecting the theatre system to the TV (only unplugged from the TV), we can hear the cable on surround sound, but if it's plugged in we can't hear it, so now we have to unplug and plug in to watch movies or cable, but that's way too frustrating to deal with, does anyone know how to fix this so my surround sound works with everything w/o having to unplug?

    Do this:
Check your manuals for the exact ports and menu settings for the following, the TV should have come with a poster that shows the connections as well.
Take the Rocketfish cable back to BB You can only get 5.1 surround over optical from your Panasonic TV when using the internal tuner, and other source, like HDMI will be limited to 2.1 audio.
    then
1 - HDMI from your cable box to HDMI 2 on your Panny TV.
2 - HDMI port 1 which should be labeled ARC from your Panny TV to the HDMI OUT port on your Panny reciever. It should also be labeled ARC.
3 - Turn on Viera Link on both the TV and the reciever.

  • Desktop/Finder keeps rebooting after upgraded to Maverick (mac mini hooked up to a home theater system)

My desktop keeps rebooting ever since I upgraded to Mavericks.
Current setup, Mac Mini hooked up to home theater (Panasonic SC-HTB20) that is then hooked up to my Panasonic Plasma TV.
I usually leave my Mac Mini on running and at least once a day when I turn on the TV I can see that my desktop was rebooted. Firefox and Chrome will say that it wasn't shut down properly and if I want to restore my previous session. Also some times when I switched the input to watch TV and switch back, all my windows will be scattered out of place. For example Chrome will be in the top left hand corner to the point that it's almost minimized and I wouldn't be able to move it as well. Only thing I can do is close out these applications and relaunch them. It doesn't appear that the OS actually crashed, but more like the desktop/finder itself crashed. Cause once in a while I will switch back or turn on the TV and the screen will stay black for a few minutes then I'll see the cursor in the top right hand corner. After that I will start to see the desktop and my application start loading. It doesn't go through the regular process of rebooting where you see the Apple logo so I don't think the OS actually crashed but I could be wrong.
For some reason it seems like Maverick doesn't like the home theater system. An almost guarantee way to reproduce the issue is to wait for the home theater to turn off after it's been inactive for a while. If I turn it on the home theater to have the audio coming from it I will see the desktop goes black immediately then the whole desktop reboot process I mentioned above will kick in.
Never had any of these issues on 10.7 before I upgraded to Maverick.
Anybody have any suggestion? I really don't want to format and downgrade back to 10.7.
    Thanks

    Sounds like a kernel panic.

  • How to connect Apple TV to projector and home theater system?

I have an Optoma HD20 projector that I have a long hdmi cable connected to and plugged that into my Apple TV. I also have an older home theater system that does not have an optical audio input. So I bought an adapter to go from optical audio to RCA cables. When I get it all plugged in and turned on I can't even get the video on my screen. What am I missing?
    This is the adapter...
