Link maker won't link to individual song

when I create a link on my blog to a song in itunes with link maker, it links to the album, not the individual song I want

In the iTunes Store, you can right-click on an album and get a "Copy Link" menu item, but you cannot do that with an individual track.

  • I want to create a playlist on an old iPod Nano (I think it's from the second generation), but the computer it was originally linked to via iTunes died years ago.  How can I make a playlist out of existing songs on the iPod?

    Hello there,
I have an old iPod nano which I think is from the second generation (model number A1199 if that helps) with software at the latest version it can accept, 1.1.3.  I wish to make a playlist out of the songs currently on the iPod, but I can't see any easy way to do that from the iPod itself.  The next logical thought is to do it through iTunes, but the iTunes that was originally synced to the iPod died several years ago now, so I can't access that to make a playlist through (it's a very old iPod).  I do have iTunes currently on this computer, but that's synced with my iPhone and stores different songs which I don't want to be mixed with those from the old iPod (due to the mostly nostalgic nature of the iPod songs).  Is there any way I can either create a new playlist from the iPod itself, or through iTunes without having to sync?  Also note that most of the songs on the old iPod were uploaded to iTunes from CDs and so aren't connected with any iTunes Login.
Thanks for any help you can give.  Also, I sorta need to create this playlist ASAP so any advice you could give would be much appreciated

The old iTunes library was lost with the old PC.  However, it all that music and content is still on your iPod there are many ways you can extract this content from the iPod and import it back into iTunes.
Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  It will recognize the iTunes library on the new PC as a new library.  If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library.  So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • How can I restore my playlist folders in itunes? They are there but the individual song titles aren't listed. They are only listed by album. This makes it very difficult to find songs in my playlist.  Also, when I click on music, it will not list options.

My itunes account is messed up. How can I restore my playlist folders in itunes? The list's are there but the individual song titles aren't. They are only listed by album. I can only see the song titles as they are played at the top of my itunes. This makes it very difficult to find songs in my playlist.  Also when in the itunes store, I am not able to see music genre choices, or search for a song or group.
    Thank you

    Hi dones49,
It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

  • Is there any way to link the individual rows of data to the corresponding bars in a bar chart so that each legend title appears simultaneously with its corresponding bar when creating a build? I can do it in a pie chart but can't in a bar chart.

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • My iPod won't import all the songs on iTunes

My iPod Classic won't import all the songs in iTunes. Any ideas?

    Hello Tony,
It sounds like you are trying to transfer music from your iPod to your computer.
Are the songs that are transferring over iTunes purchases?  Music imported from a CD or other source that is on your iPod cannot be transferred to a computer from your iPod, but music purchased from the iTunes Store can.  You can find more information at the following link:

  • Syncing individual songs to devices?

I want to sync individual songs to my devices. I am only able to select the artists, which means I get all of the artists' songs on my devices. Is there a way that I can select individual songs to sync to my iphone/ipod without having to sync all of the artist's songs?

I'm not sure when the option became available, but in addition to the options to Sync Playlists, Artists, Albums & Genres (playlists alone worked fine for me) you can also drag & drop any individual track, or a selection of them, onto the device to have them synced as well. If you scroll down the music tab when your device is connected you'll sell a section where these additional items are listed. Or you could just make a playlist to hold your "iPhone Essentials".
The checkbox feature is not ideally suited as the main tool for managing content that goes onto your devices since it operates library wide and prevents normal track to track playback. It is, perhaps, better used for disabling seasonal songs out of season, and marking such things as bonus interview tracks that the completist will keep in their library, but won't want to play at random.

  • No Playlists Show up, only individual songs

I took all my songs from my iPod using iPod rip, and then restored my iPod to a Mac format. When I sync'd the iPod to iTunes none of my playlists showed, only individual songs. Does anyone know why my playlists aren't showing up? and How can this be changed back to normal?

iTunes will group tracks into albums based on the following rules:
All tracks have the same Artist value and the same Album value, or
All tracks have the same Album Artist value and the same Album value, or
All tracks have the same Album value and the "Album is a compilation ..." flag is set.
In the first and third cases Album Artist can be left blank, though can be set if desired (to the same value as Artist in the first case, to "Various Artists" or similar in the third.  Setting values for the Sort Album, Sort Artist and/or Sort Album Artist fields shouldn't affect grouping into albums, though it is a good idea to have consistent values (which can include blanks) for all tracks.  Inconsistent values can result in tracks within a album being ordered incorrectly, even though the grouping is right.  Inconsistent settings of the total tracks, disc number and total discs fields can also cause incorrect ordering.  There's also evidence that iTunes 12 may, in some circumstances, fail to group albums correctly is one or more of the sorting fields are set to different values. iTunes 12 also seems to have a lurking bug such that changes to the fields that are used for grouping don't always trigger the code that makes the grouping happen.  If it appears that all the rules are satisfied and an album still won't group correctly, the following "trick" may force the grouping to be correct:
select all the tracks that should be grouped as a single album
    right-click > Get Info
on the Details tab, edit the Album value to put a "dummy" character at the start of the name - e.g., if the correct/intended value is "Dark Side of the Moon" change it to "xDark Side of the Moon"
click OK - in most cases the album will now be grouped correctly
now repeat the editing process to reset the Album field to the correct value
There's a similar oddity/workaround where an album can be "forced" to group correctly by setting and then unsetting the "Album is a compilation ..." flag.

  • How do I tell itunes that my music is located on an SD card without going to find each individual song for itunes?

I ran out of room on my computer so I needed to move my music to my sd card. Each time I try to play a song on itunes it says it cannot be found. If I show itunes where my SD card is located it will play the song. However, I don't want to do this for each of my individual songs. How can I tell my itunes that all of my music is located on an SD card?

Sorry, I should have been clearer ... was your music previously located within the iTunes Media folder, by default C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media)?  If possible, you should move the music back to its original location, verify that your links have been restored (i.e., you can play songs without getting error messages) and then in iTunes:
update these settings in Edit > Preferences > Advanced:
Change this to be something similar on your SD card - ideally, you should have an iTunes folder in the root of the card, and an iTunes Media folder within this.
This setting will ensure iTunes manages the folder structure and files within the iTunes Media folder
This setting tells iTunes to copy any new additions to your library into the iTunes Media folder on the SD card.
If you are prompted to allow iTunes to reorganize files click No.
Now select File > Library > Organize Library... (click Ctrl-B first if you don't see the menu bar), and when you see this prompt:
check the Consolidate files box and, if not greyed out, the Reorganize files ... box, then click OK.
iTunes will now copy your music from its existing location(s) to the iTunes Media folder on your SD card
When this process completes, check that everything plays correctly, and also check a few songs (right-click > Get Info > File tab) to verify that the location information held by iTunes is on the SD card.
Once everything looks OK, you can delete the music files/folders from their original location(s) on the C: drive.
The underlying issue here is that iTunes doesn't keep track of the location of your media files if you move them yourself.  The process described above uses iTunes to move the files, and therefore to update its database so that is has the correct locations.

  • My iPod touch (5th gen) doesn't list some albums in the artist's section. But still lists the individual songs in the music list. How can I better organize this?

I recently bought an iPod touch 5th generation, I had a few CD albums here that I wanted to put into my new iPod, just like my old one. But with my old one I put them all in and it organized them all as the same artist (which they are), so under artists I just had to click on their name, then pick the album. In the 5th gen one, it puts the songs in my iPod, but I can't find the actual album under "Artists". I put 2 albums by this artist, but it only shows one, and the other is nowhere to be found, but it's still in my iPod, just as individual songs in the songs section. I don't think this'll be the only time I'm running into this problem on the 5th gen, I had trouble organizing some other songs. How can I better organize these albums, show them all under the same artist? I tried to re-write the artist name to be exactly the same, but that doesn't do anything.

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
    - Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • How do I get albums out of "compilations'?  On one of my machined I can go to individual songs, "get info" and uncheck "part of a compilation", but that does not work on my office machine.  I would also like to be able to do this in  a group for an album,

I don't know how so much of my music got lost by being labled "compilations"?  I would like to go back and catagorize it as it should be but the screens are gray and will not let me alter them as to the catagory I wish them to be in (or even the genere they are already labled?  On my home machine I can (by individual song) "get info and uncheck "part of a compilation" and when this is finished the album goes to the genere as it is listed?  Frustrating bit of hous keeping.  Help and Thanks  Chuck

The Get Info. fields show up gray if the files is locked and iTunes knows it can't edit the file. Make sure the files are not marked as read only and, if necessary grant both your account and system full access to all files and subfolders of your media folder.
You can set Part of a Compilation for multiple tracks from the Options tab of Get Info.

  • I downloaded an album from iTunes on my iPad and then i synced it with iTunes it doesn't show the individual songs in my library just the album which opens another window.  Can you help?

I downloaded an album from iTunes on my iPad and then i synced it with iTunes it doesn't show the individual songs in my library just the album which opens another window.  One of the albums won't even play the music.  Will only open the "booklet" for the cd but not the music.  Can you help?

    Hello dannugget
Normally, if the songs showed that it is purchased then it is probably already in your library. If not check out the article below to walk you through downloading your past purchases. You may also want to check to see if you have Automatic Downloads turned on so that way next time you can get your tracks without having to plug in and sync.

  • Is there any way to sync individual songs to your iPhone?

I have iTunes 11.1.2 and a 4s iPhone. I cant seem to sync individual songs. You would figure Apple would make improvements with new iTunes instead of horribly regress backwards. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Please explain.
You can simply add a song to a playlist you sync.
Not sure what you are looking for.

  • How do I organize individual songs by artists name in my iphone5?

Hey, the pre-installed music player in my iphone5 doesn't have an option for me to organize individual songs by artists. It is organized by song names.
I'm sure I can do this in itune. How do i do this?
Also I have another question. When I play my music and tilt my phone horizontally, this screen saver that has tiles of albumns pops up. Sometimes when I close my walletcase the case touches this screen and it plays the albumn that it touches. When I tilt it vertically, it is gone. How do I disable this function?
I thank you for your support.

I don't believe it is possible to sort by Artist name, sorry.
As for your second issue, why not just turn off your screen? If that for some strange reason won't work, try locking portrait orientation in Control Center.
