Link Properties box

In my office we noted that in version 8 of Acrobat you cannot keep your link properties box open while navigating to multiple links. Instead this box has to be closed before moving to the next link and/or bookmark. Unlike version 7 which does allow the link properties box to remain open. This feature in my organization is without a doubt amazingly helpful - and will unfortunately prevent us from updating the remaing stations to version 8.
Is this an intended change to the product and/or have there been any patches made to resolve this? The problem my environment has with this change is it increases the work load by doubling the amount of mouse interaction needed to link and/or audit already created links to a PDF package.

  • CSS Link Properties

i used the page properties to set the link properties on all
of my pages. the pages appeared fine on my browser (safari) but on
other browsers, my sidebar links have the link color. I've been
reading other topics related to this and I somewhat understand
changing the link properties using css to the specific div tags but
    I am running into trouble.
I don't want my sidebar links to to have red boxes around
them. Isn't it true you can override the css style in the
<head> with an inline style in the html element?
When I try to change these properties the effects either
don't take place or the layout changes. I'm still fairly new to css
and I understand what I must change but I am coming up short. would
this be the code I would use so that they would not display red?
    <div class="sidebar1">#sidebar1 links go
    here#</div>
    CSS Document:
    .sidebar1 a:link { color: #FFFFFF; }
    .sidebar1 a:visited { color: #FFFFFF; }
    .sidebar1 a:hover { color: #FFFFFF; }
    .sidebar1 a:active { color: #FFFFFF; }

Yes, but that may not be the most efficient way to do it, so
    it would be at
the bottom of the alternative list.
    > would this be the code I would use so that they would
    not display red?
It could be, but it will depend on what else you have on your
    page. At the
least, you should shorten that code like this -
    .sidebar1 a { color:#FFF; }
(which would apply to ALL links at all link states within
    div.sidebar1)
Are you not seeing that have an effect?

  • DW CS4-where did the hyperlink option in the properties box go?

Long time DW user (many versions/most recently CS3) and just
    recently installed DWCS4.
I'd like to know where the the little icon that one could
drag to create intra-site hyperlinks went? I no longer have it in
    my properties box.
Dreamweaver "Help" goes to a blank page.

The Property inspector now has two buttons on the left: HTML
    and CSS. To
create a link, you must have the HTML button selected.

  • How can I add linked text boxes to Contents?

I have a lot of sections in my chapters, and I think they are all coming in to the TOC, but the automatic text box doesn't have a blue tab, so I cannot add a new text box to continue showing the sections.  How can I make this show up? There's no layout I can manipulate for the TOC, so I cannot make the text editable, which is the suggestion that I have seen for regular linked text boxes.

    Hello,
If you want to add image to it's background then you can select the SubMenu and use the fill option to fill an image to it.
Make sure you uncheck "Edit together" option in Menu properties so that you can add different images to different submenus.
And if you want to edit the text and add images to it, I would suggest you to use Manual menu. Where you can customize your own Menu and add links to the Menus and Submenus.
Please have a look at the screenshot showing how to create Manual menu :
    Hope this helps.

  • How to link text-boxes in Pages 5.2?

How do you link text-boxes in Pages 5.2?

Thank you for your help; it is appreciated. I suspected that, but am still disappointed. I am finding myself getting more and more disenchanted with Apple products in the past few years. I've been a faithful fan, user and promoter since the 1980s, but I am starting to seriously doubt their competency in the past few years with the Pages 5 version as well as what iOS7 continues to do to my iPhone (as my prime examples). Instead of enhancing my life and work, Apple is beginning to waste my time -- a lot of it! Perhaps it is time for a change.... I don't want to, but I am starting to look for other alternatives.

  • The linked text boxes are very important to my work flow. Not being able to flow text between pages has cost me a lot of valuable time in producing my newsletter. Any ideas?

In Pages 09 I was able to flow text between text boxes on the same page and to different pages but that seems to have gone away. This is one of the most useful items in Pages that I use. Now it seems to have gone away and I could find no replacement in doing my last newsletter, (which took at least 3 times as long to produce.) I am very disappointed in Pages 13 so far and look for some bright side to this software to change my opinion.

Apple has promised to bring back *some* features "within six montha." We're 4 months into the clock. They have brought back a couple of features (ability to cutomize the toolbar, for instance, and vertical ruler). But they still have a long way to go and there is no certainty that linked text boxes will be restroed. It wasn't cited in their original list of examples  of what would be brought back. (Nor was mail merge, bookmarks, Applescript support, or many other items.)

  • CS4 Linking Text Boxes Together in Anchored Objects?

Hi. Using InDesign CS4 I have a Anchored Object that I would like to link part of it to the next one in the text frame. Example: I have grouped together a text box, a box with a placed UPC from Illustrator and another text box stacked on top of each other, all lined up. I group this and place it in a text box so I can set these at different places along a 29" document. When I have overset text, in the top box for example, I see the + sign but can't grab it to try to link the text to the next text box in the Anchored or grouped object. All I can do it change the size of the box - even when holding down the command key on the Mac with the text too enabled. I am setting it up this way so all three boxes stay together when positioning on pages. I have multiple rows of these so it makes it easier to modify. If I take the grouped set out of the text box so it's by itself I can grab the overset text. I am trying to link text boxes so it's easier and faster to flow in text from another program. Thanks.
    Pat

OK, I will try to get the whole page later. I want to keep what you see in the screen shot - one of the grouped objects - together as it goes across the page. So the 9232554 text and all bellow that would stay grouped together when I tab it over to line up to a certain spot on the page. This is placed in a text box that runs horizonal on the page, about 28"  across. I also wanted to link the 9232554 box to the 9232729 box which is just a duplicate of the group of text and UPC code before it. But from what you say, and what I tried to do, I can't. Even when all the anchored object groups are in the same long text thread. I tried not grouping  each section - the UPC code sandwiched by the text boxes, but could not place them in the long text box when not grouped togther.
I wanted to flow in the text to all 14 of these grouped or anchored objects, say all top boxes, in one 'paste' instead of doing each one at a time but keeping the 3 elements you see togther at all times.

  • In the shared variable properties box, when enabling aliasing, what is the difference between binding to a project variable vs. to a psp url

In the shared variable properties box, specifically with regard to a the target being an rt target, when enabling aliasing, what is the difference between binding to a project variable vs. to a psp url?

The difference is in the type of variable you are binding it to.  A project variable is a variable that lives within the specific project in which it was created.  A PSP URL is an address using the Publish-Subscribe Protocol (PSP).  You can learn more about PSP URLs here: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvconcepts/using_datasocket_technology/#Specifyin...
PSP URLs will enable it to communicate between different machines and also between projects which may or may not be open.  The project variable will exist within the project.

  • Continuation message in linked text boxes

Can anyone tell me how or if there is a way to insert an automatic comment in a linked text box informing the reader that the article is (i.e.) continued on pg. 2 - or continued from pg. 1. Microsoft Publisher used to have that feature (may still) and it was very useful. I cannot find anything like that in Pages. What am I missing?

    iStreet,
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
You're not missing anything. It simply can't be done in Pages.
I'm not sure if you're referring to a bubble that pops up when you mouse over the text box or some other flag to alert readers. But I think you'd need to manually insert the "continued" text in the text box.

  • Why does a firefox properties box appear when I click on a desktop icon?

I click on a desktop icon, and instead of going to that application, I get a box that says firefox properties, asking what my target is. If I restart the computer, the desktop works for a short time, and then starts the firefox properties box again.

    Hello Helena.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

  • Having trouble linking text boxes in Pages on iMac

I can't seem to link text boxes so that text flows from one to another.  Has the process in Pages changed in the new update?  Any advice?  Thanks!

All versions of Pages v5 have omitted the ability to link Text boxes.

  • Turn off linking text boxes in Pages

I find the linking text boxes annoying because I'm always fighting trying to STRETCH a box and Pages wants to add a linking floating text box.
Does anyone know how to turn off this feature completely, so it never comes back on unless I want it to?
For a while it was OFF, and then all of a sudden I'm back fighting the linking text box feature when trying to move my text box where I want it.
Thanks for any suggestions or help!

    Pamela,
No, I don't believe that you can disable Text Box Linking. Just keep your mouse pointer away from the Link Handles.

  • Linking text boxes in Pages

I can no longer link text boxes in Mavericks. I have version 10.9.3 installed. It seems like this is a problem that should have/would have been addressed long ago. When I go to Format in Pages, the Add Link is in light grey and it will not let me add the link. Am I missing something....

You should be posting in the Pages for Mac community for better response.
The last Pages version that linked text boxes was Pages ’09 v4.3. Pages v5.2 does not have this capability, and only Apple knows when or if they will fix that glaring omission.
If you had the older mentioned Pages installed before (downgrading) to Pages v5+, it was moved into /Applications/iWork ’09, and remains a functional improvement over Pages v5+.

  • Link text boxes and duplicate contents?

I'm working on a template for business cards in CS4 and was wondering if it was possible to link text boxes together in a way so that when information is entered/changed in one it would do the same in all the others.  There are 8 business cards on one sheet.  If I could link the text boxes containing the Name/Position and change the information on the top left card it would then automatically change on the other 7 cards.  Does anyone know if this is possible?

Export it as an InCopy story and then place that multiple times.

  • Linking text boxes together?

    hello,
I work with a book (.indb) with many different Documetns linked in it(.indd)
Problem is that i have a lot of textboxes that are the same in the documents and also across the documents.
What i would like to do is to link them all together somehow and either have
-one master (if i make changes in that it applies to all of them)
    or
-everyone as a master, i make changes anywhere and all of them get changed
    best would be though
-i have one master wich changes all of them but i can have extra text in the individual textboxes if needed. (I could solve this by just doing extra textbox n the pages i need some extra text)
Also dont know if it matters but the text in the textbox is conditional text (shouldnt make a difference  think)
So what i want to know is if you can do this and if so, how you do it.
    Thank you in advance
    /Simon

Thank you for the quick reply,
So there is no way of linking text boxes together?
Becouse i only have a small amount of text that has to be the same on certain pages.
So i cant put it inot master page and i dont really want to place an entire page,
I hope I understood the procedure correctly.
    Thank you in advance
Consider cross-references. Each cross-reference brings in a whole paragraph, to another place in the same document, or from a separate document. The source content can be in a separate document that's one of those in an InDesign book, or one that's not in a book. Cross-reference source content and the source that's captured can both be conditionalized, though, hiding the source creates unresolved references.
Changing the source content changes all instances that capture it.
Search Google for terms like "InDesign cross-reference tutorial" without quotes for details.
