Link properties

Question

Using Dreamweaver 8. Created 1 row 2 cols left frame and
mainframe page. No matter what I do my "HOME" link, (or all links
for that matter), I can not get the linked page to open in same
browser window. It either opens in new window or in one of the
frames. Help say's "In the Target pop-up menu _top opens the linked
document in the current browser window, replacing all frames"
It doesn't work for me. It opens in a new window. I also have
problems in non frame pages but not as much. Leaving the target
menu blank, with no text at all usually works.
