How to Link the Query With MyMenu. i tried to add by the Following steps
Tools>My Menu> Add to My Menu.
But i could not click Add to My Menu.it is disabled. how to enable this.

Go to the query generator - execute-sap will open one more screen-in that click the icon pencil and place ur query and click save , Againit will open one more screen to save the query. here give the name for query and clik the query categoreis ( u can create new one also by clicking in manage cotagreies). Finally save the query.
U can get the saved queries in Menu bar Near to Form settings with One Rectangular box with Arrow mark is query manager.

Linking Access tables, creating a query with using both Access and Oracle

Hello,
I am using 3.0.04.34 version Oracle Developer. I am supposed to create a script/procedure to use both Access tables and oracle tables together. There is an option in developer to copy the access tables into oracle. But it doesn't help me. Because when we updated the access tables
the copied ones are not be updated. How can I created a linked access tables to oracle and create a query with using both access and oracle table together.
I will appreciate if you guys help me. I look forward to hearing from you guys.

to be able to query MS Access tables in Oracle you need an additional product, the Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC. It allows you to link any foreign database into an Oracle database using a suitable ODBC driver. You can then access the MS Access tables through a database link based on the Database Gateway for ODBC. This will also allow you to join local Oracle and remote MS Access tables from your Oracle database.

Linked Server - Getting Error when performing Cross Instance Query with joins

Hi Guys,
I've successfully created a Linked Server that connects a local DB Engine with another DB Engine through an ip over an extranet. I am able to run simple Select statement queries on the Local DB
Engine and get results from the linked server. However when attempting to perform more complex queries that join tables from
the linked server with tables from the local DB server, I get the following error message after several minutes of execution:

I just got word from a user that the query ran successfully this morning but took 15 mins to complete.. does it ring a bell to you in terms of issues that may be causing this?
This kind of behaviour would suggest something makes the query "time out" or stop abruptly.. How can I further investigate it pls? Broadcast a BW 7.0 query with BW 3.5 broadcaster?

Hi Folks,
is there a trick that allows to broadcast a BW 7.0 query with the BW 3.5 broadcaster?
On the precal server BEX 3.5 / 7.0 is installed so in theory there shouldn't be an issue.
But in the BW 3.5 broadcaster I don't see BEX 7.0 queries as all (for html) nor BEX 7.0 workbooks.
As we don't have BI JAVA stack we don't have BW 7.0 broadcaster ...
Any ideas / workarounds / tricks?

How to link asset with purchase order and PO Item.

I have to generate a report which contains columns
Asset No , po no(ebeln) ,PO Item(ebelp),Material no etc
My query is how to link asset with purchase order and PO Item.
I am selecting asset and po no. from anla but how to get
po item no(ebelp)?
po line item is important in this report because every line item has differrent asset and material no.
i tried to match asset no in mseg table but i am not getting asset no in mseg .
how should i proceed ?

When I checked EKKN table by entering PO there is no asset no. in anln1 field.
Also I would like to add that, In me23n for a PO, account assignment category we are entering 'F' for internal order settlement.
Where can i find the link between asset and po no(ebeln) and po item(ebelp)?

How to insert some strings in a query with the clausule 'in' in a procedure

Hello fellows.
Do you know how to insert some strings in a query with the clausule 'in' in a procedure (with a variable)?.
I tell us my problem with an example:
I want to use this select but introducing a variable instead the 'value1', 'value2':
select * from table1 where field1 in ('value1', 'value2');
if I declare the variable var1 as:
TC_VAR1 CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := '''value1'',''value2'''
and I use it as:
select * from table1 where field1 in (TC_VAR1);
It doesn't work because Oracle takes TC_VAR1 as an all string. I think Oracle takes it as this:
select * from table1 where field1 in ('value1, value2');
If I use the data type TABLE, I don't know how to use well:
TYPE varchar2_table IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(10);
tb_var varchar2_table;
select * from table1 where field1 in (tb_var);->It returns an error and there ins't an method that it returns all values.
A curious case is that if I have a sql script (for example script1.sh) with this query:
select * fromt able1 where field1 in (&1)
and I invoke this script as
script1.sh "'''value1'',''value2'''". It works

Hierarchical query with where clause

Hi,
How can I query hierarchically a query with WHERE clause? I have a table with three fields session_id,id and root_id.
When I try with the following query,
select id, level from relation
where session_id = 79977
connect by prior id = root_id start with id = 5042;
It gets duplicate values.
I want the query to show in the hierarchical manner with a filter condition using WHERE clause. Please help me how can I achieve this. If you know any link that describes more about this, please send it.

Query with variant from ABAP

Hello!
I need to execute a BW-query from an Abap-report.
I tried it already with function module 'RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA' and with classes / objects 'CL_RSR_REQUEST' resp. 'CL_RSR_DATA', but:
I want to use the query with a variant, which could be found in table RSRPARAMETRIZA.
(Btw: even with a variant in table RSRVARIANTDIR I don't get the results wanted...)
Is there a direct way to call a BW-query with a variant from Abap?
Alternatively: How do I get the variant-contents? Is there a 'universal' way to work with both kinds of variants? (RSRVARIANTDIR / RSRPARAMETRIZA)

But this solution doesn't work for me: CL_RSR_QUERY_VARIABLES is unknown.
I read the pdf and the function-module-code, but I still don't have an idea how to work with query- variants . The example-coding includes a line
DATA: wf_variant TYPE variant .
but that's not used, or is it?
(I don't have a set of variables and conditions, but just a variant-name. The variant will be created by other people, who would start my report.)

SQ02 - Query with adicional fields

Hi, I need your help to develop a query with additional fields.
The case is that:
In my query I only have a table VBAK and my propose is that this query returns me the quantity that are in a sales document for some material that should be selection parameters.
So I create 2 additional fields: one that is the u2018 Material u2018 that have no codification and other that is the quantity that have the code:
select single ZMENG into quantity from VBAK where matnr = material.
But the result is null, I don't know why.

MATNR is not available in VBAK !
You have to create first an info-set using SQ02 : here you link VBAK and VBAP, and select the fields you need.
From SQ01, create a new query where matnr is a selection field ....

Crystal 2011 linking table with a String and a Number

I am able to retrieve the data I want with the following SQL Query in SQL: If I try to create it in Crystal 2011 APPLRUNN is a string and CNTBTCH is a number. Is there a way I can link these two fields if one is a string and the other is a number ?

You cannot linking table with a string and a number. I have given a example query:

ENADV.APPLRUNN = ENPBD.APPLRUNN or ENADV.CNTBTCH = ENPBD.CNTBTCH
I modify last sentense because one table primary key is equal to another table Foreign key i.e
one table ID field = another table ID field or one table NAME field = another table Name field.
Please understand my intenction and check linking fields in tables.

Left join query with join of three tables

I'm trying to build a query which has me stumped. Most of the query is fairly straightforward but I've run into an issue I'm not sure how to solve.
Background:
We have actions stored in i_action.
We have the available attributes for each type of action. The available attributes for each action are described in shared_action_attribute. Each type of action may have up to three attributes or none at all.
We have the values stored for the attributes in i_attribute_value.
A written example:
We have a transfer action (action_code B4). The entry of the B4 action into i_action records the fact that the transfer occurred and the date on which it occurred. The available attributes for a transfer action are the receiving function code, the receiving unit number, and the transfer reason code. These available attribute types and their order are stored in shared_action_attribute. The actual values of the attributes for a specific transfer action are stored in i_attribute_value.
Now i_action and i_attribute_value can be directly linked through action_seq in i_action and ia_action_seq in i_attribute_value. A left join built between these two tables provides results for all actions (including actions which have no attributes) and attribute values (see query 1 below).
There are two issues. First, I only want the first two attributes. In order to specify the first two attributes, I also have to link i_attribute_value to shared_action_attribute (which is where the order is stored). I can build a simple query (without the left join) linking the three tables but then actions with no attributes would be excluded from my result set (see query 2 below).
The second issue is that I would actually like one row returned for each action with first_attribute and second_attribute as columns instead of two rows.
The final query will be used to create a materialized view.

Ok, here's more information with a simplified question. I figured out the syntax for building my query with the three tables. My final query returns multiple rows (multiple attributes per action). Instead of multiple rows, I'd like two columns (first_attribute, and second_attribute) in a single row (I only need the first two attributes).

MDX query with a DMX query

Hi All,
Do I have a way to run a MDX query with a DMX query? (Avoiding the “link server” options… )
I need to get the cube last update date like this DMX query:
SELECT 1
as CubeStatus
FROM $System.MDSCHEMA_CUBES
where
format(LAST_DATA_UPDATE,
'dd/MM/yyyy') = format(now(),
'dd/MM/yyyy') --"1" means that the cube was processed, NULL cube did not process today
and cube_source = 1
and cross reference it to a result I get from this MDX query:
with
member measures.LastDateCube
as [Comm Date UTC].[Date].currentmember.PROPERTIES("KEY")
select measures.LastDateCube
on 0 from comms
the purpose of this is to know for sure that my current member (date integer) is equal to the cube last update date. thus, making sure the cube was processed and I get the correct member I expect.

According to your description, you want to combine a DMX query with a MDX query. Right?
In SQL Server, it is not supported to parse the MDX query without connecting the SSAS database server. So if you want to combine the DMX and MDX query into one dataset, the only way is using linked server to SSAS in openquery() function.
In this scenario, if you render these data from two result sets for reporting purpose, I assume you using SSRS, you can create two datasets and use lookup() to combine data fields from two datasets into one data region.

Copy function based on the query with variables

Let me share the scenario I need to implement. I have a planning query with layout like shop / material / sales volume. The variables are shop number and calendar month. User opens the planning query, selects shop number and month, then sees the list of materials and puts the planned sales volume, then saves as a temporary version. Saving as a temporary version is realized by standard u201Csaveu201D function. The matter is that the user needs to have a possibility to copy this version to official one. I created the button and linked it with the copy function. The problem is that when a user clicks this button, the function asks him/her to provide variables again. I would like to have the button which copies the data with the same selection criteria as the query already has.
Any idea?

I think when you add the button you specify the planning sequence name and that takes the filter of the modeler .Now when you try to call the planning sequence the filter variables are also added to the button as VAR_NAME, VAR_VALUE which prompts you for the variable again.Delete VAR_NAME,VAR_VALUE at the back of the button manually and then save your work book.Then it will not ask for variable entry and the values that you have specified in the query filter will pass on to modeler filters.As variables are global.
Similarly if you are using planning function then at the back of the button remove the VAR_NAME,VAR_VALUE.

APD using Query with multiple structures as a data source

All,
I want to set up an automatic process which executes a query and exports it to a shared drive as a csv file. I have tried various options , when I try to use APD to set up the extract, I get an error and this is because the query that I am trying to use has Strucutres in both rows and columns. Hence, I am unable to use this option. I tried RSCRM_BAPI, It works well, but there is an issue with scheduling this in Process chain. I created an event and scheduled this as a job to trigger after "event" as per SAP instructions, but the job does not exist and it is not possible to trigger it through the Process chain unless the variables are hard coded in the query which I do not want to do.
Can any one tell me if there is a way to deal with APD using Query with multiple structures?
Would really appreciate if some one can give me the right solution...

APD is an option but its not very good with large amount of data or hiearachies or if you have attributes in you query structure .
One more option for this requirement is use of report program using function module RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA .
This will work fine with multiple structure etc .
There are some overheads with this FM ex: if amount of data is too much then program will give dump .Solution for that is we call the FM in LOOP by diving amount of data need to be fetched .ex: we can read data quarter wise.
For using this function module what you can do is write an ABAP program (At SE38 ) .which will call this FM and then write the output into a flat file which you can save at application server (AL11) .From there other system can read it .
To automate this whole process you can further add all the report programs into a process chain (RSPC) which can be schedule as per requirement .
To pass input parameters you can use variants that will pass the values to the report .
