  • WinXP 64 Bit Drivers for T61 Thinkpad (7661-G28)

I installed Vista64 on an additional drive and was constantly running into application crashes as well as what apppears to be system pauses when a window was in focus.   Things just froze and if you brought up task manager they would start responding again.  I installed windows Vista Ultimate (SP1) for this. I was trying to take advantage of all my memory in the system 4GB brecause I am trying to setup a demo disk with Virtual Workstation so I need the memory for the virtual environment.
Anyway I gave up (after learning about how to remove the new Vista boot loader on a dual boot machine) and decided to go back to 64 bit XP to get a stable system.  The problem with this is of course the lack of driver support for 64 bit XP on thinkpads.  I have read  most of the posts in the forum on 64 bit options for XP and I have tried all of the suggestions for them.  I still do not have but one drivers active.  I was able to get the Ethernet driver working but still can not load the wireless (4965AG), audio(SoundMax Digital HD AUdio), SM Driver, or video (Intel 965 Chipset) drivers.  Has anyone had any luck with a model T61 and 64 bit drivers for Windows XP(64)?
    Any help is appreciated.

i've never tried before but my personal opinion, it won't work.

  • System Requirements for my laptop

My laptop is windows 8.1, intel core i5 1.70 Ghz, 64 bit, 4GB ram.
are these system requirements enough, and which version/type of photoshop is suitable for my laptop??

    Mustafa,
    Welcome to the forum.
Along with the links provided, the one thing that jumps out at me is that you are running a 64-bit OS, with only 4GB RAM installed. That is just enough to run the OS, with little left over for programs. I would research bumping UP the RAM, to at least 8GB, or even more, if the laptop can handle it.
    Good luck,

  • Where are WinXP 32-bit drivers to install CP1518 connected to Win7 64-bit

I have a CP1518ni connected locally via USB to a Win7 64-bit PC. I want to print to this printer from a WinXP 32-bit PC. The printer is shared under Win7. When I try to add a printer under WinXP, is sees the shared printer and asks for the location of the driver. I've downloaded and installed various PCL6 drivers, the Universal PLC6 driver and even inserted the original CD-ROM for the printer. No matter what location I give, it says an appropriate driver is not found. I had no problem when the printer was connected to another WinXP PC, which has now been replaced by a Win7 PC. Is it that a 32-bit PC cannot use the printer when it's connected to a 64-bit PC? I've spent several hours trying to install it and it should not be this difficult. Can someone tell me where I can find the WinXP drivers for a CP1518ni?

A little more progress on this issue: You must install the Universal PCL6 drivers on the Win7 PC, and include the WinXP PCL6 drivers there too. The printer was installed using standard Win7 drivers, which leads to the problem. Now I can install the printer as I normally would on my WinXP PC and it finds the drivers to install. Now the problem is, whenever I print to that printer on my WinXP PC, the queue either shows a print error, or, the print job continually shows it is printing, then spooling, then printing, then spooling, etc. These lines rapidly and alternately flash in the print queue window and the job never prints. I've disabled my WinXP firewall and removed user name/password credentials on the Win7 PC.

    Dear Meenu,
There is no standard report available which fulfills your requirement. Hence please take EKKO,EKBE,BSEG,BSET,BSIK,BSAK,etc. to have a complete report.
Please take Material document as your base, then find out the PO, then find out the Vendor details(EKKO), GR and Invoice details(EKBE), Paid / unpaid items (BSAK/BSIK), Tax items (BSET) and payment details (BSEG).
I hope this will be helpful in finding a solution to your problem.

A not about the chart above: it may be a little misleading, as there are fewer Apple products sold compared to PC's, so they would by default have "fewer problems".  Add to that the notariety that Apple has about not reporting issues and problems with it's hardware...you get the picture.
I work on both PCs and MACs.  Neither is superior to the other, they both suffer about tha same percentage of hardware and software problems.  Now the Apple bots will flame me for saying so, but it is true.  Apple is no better than the better PCs when it comes to problems.
Hey, as a quasi-official Apple bot I resemble that remark! Prepare for flames to emanate from my post!
"...there are fewer Apple products sold compared to PC's..." is your go-to explanation for fewer problems with Apples, fewer Apple viruses in the wild, and probably why the weather has been so warm recently. It may also have something to do with the hardware and software being made (and joined seamlessly together) by the same company which can result in fewer driver and other sorts of compatibility glitches. On top of that, maybe some people just prefer Apple products and one of the reasons why is that they <gasp> have fewer problems with them.
Btw, in your haste to post your customary "Apple is no better" diatribe did you happen to notice in my post above that (contrary to what the chart suggests) I stated that Dell and HP are capable of cranking out good machines? That I've heard good things about ASUS? The OP was just looking for recommendations about a laptop here (which you didn't offer), and not a PC vs. Mac debate.
So, start recommending or muzzle it.

  • HP Mini 110 - 3714tu Windows XP 32 bit Drivers

Hello Everybody, I had this netbook from a long time. Installed Win7 on it for a lot of time, but after every few days it becomes slow. So I decided to install windows xp. With great hectic I created a bootable USB of Windows XP SP3. After installing I got such a shock by seeing HP doesn't offer winxp 32 bit drivers for this model. All it offers is Win7 32bit or 64bit drivers.
I hope somebody can help me out with this. You can find complete specification of my model here:
    https://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02842860
    And Drivers here:

I was able to find the Display driver for windows xp from intel easily and it worked perfectly. Please help for other things namely Audio, Blutooth, WLAN, LAN and Touchpad.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi, John:
It will be very hard if not impossible for you to be able to get the audio to work, but you can read the audio suggestions listed under the Difficult Models section of the XP downgrade guide at the link below:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/General-XP-Downgrade-Guide-for-...
Lan is easy...Download and install the 1st driver on the list.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy...
LAN and BT should also be easy too,  but I need some info from you...
Please go to the device manager and click on the device labeled Network Controller ?, then click on the Details tab.
If you have installed XP SP2 or SP3, you should see a string of characters that starts with PCI\VEN.
    Post that string of characters.
Touchpad...I would try the drivers directly from Synaptics.

    Hi:
Your notebook is not supported by HP for W7 32 bit.
You will need to use 32 bit drivers from business notebooks with the same hardware as yours has.
Below are the W7 32 bit links to the wifi and BT drivers your model uses.

You can use the W7 AMD graphics driver and the rest of the other drivers you need from this model.

  • Windows 8/8.1 32/64 bit Drivers for Satellite P100/P105 Users

I made an original post with my now ancient Satellite P105-S9722 back in 2009 & 2011 for Windows 7 64-bit drivers. Windows 7 Drivers for P100/105 Systems
Now that I have newer systems, I have experimented loading Windows 8 & 8.1 in my P105-S 9722 system.  Wanted to share some observations and any issues I came across.
I have listed here some basic drivers you can use for your P100/P105 systems for Windows 8 and 8.1 and 32/64-bit to work.  Many of these listed are from other users, but there may be some additional drivers many may not know about.  I can't guarantee that all of these will make your system work 100%, but hopefully this will make your upgrade just a little quicker & easier.
Before using these driver, I recommend you do a fresh install of Windows 8 or 8.1 32 or 64-bit regardless if you are using XP, Vista or 7 32 or 64-bit systems.
Now I did use an installation DVD instead of a flash drive since you may need to add additional features to make certain programs work.
After installing the Operating System (OS), immediately go to Programs and Features in Control Panel .  Make sure to turn on the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0).  You will need this to install some of the Toshiba utilities.
Many of the native drivers for Windows 8 & 8.1 will automatically be installed.  The wifi driver should work.  I am using a Sparklan GN-WS30N 802.11n using Ralink RT2860 chipset that works in 8 & 8.1.
SOUND CARD: The biggest issue of Windows 8 & 8.1 32/64-bit is that there is no sound.  The old Audio 4.8.0.0 driver is the only driver that still works in Windows 8 & 8.1.  There are much newer versions, but for some reason, the old driver works the best.
    1) Download the driver.
    2) right click the file to extract it to a folder of the same name (do not double-click as the automatic installation will fail)
    3) double-click on folder Audio4.8.0.0, then double-click again on subfolder Audio4.8.0.0 if present
    4) double-click on folder BD1-BH1
    5) double-click on folder VXP64
    6) recommend to double-click on file BD16HAa.inf to check if your sound Hardware ID is listed under [Conexant.NTAMD64], should be HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_1179FF31
    7) close BD16HAa.inf file if opened in step 6, then simply double-click Setup64.exe
    8) restart system (although audio may work right away, always a good idea)
See Audio 4.8.8.0.zip Download on Bottom of post
SYNAPTIC TOUCHPAD:  If your P100/P105 has a dual Synaptic touchpad like mine, the driver does work in WIndows 8/8.1, BUT you still need the utility to make it work.
    Download: Toshiba Touchpad
Here's the thing with the Toshiba file, when you save it or run it, it unzips the folder into the TEMP folder.  When you go to run it, the main setup will work.  In case the autorun does not work, here's what you need to do:
    1) Change you folder selection so you can show hidden folders & files
    2) After unzipping the file, open C:\Users\"YOURNAME"\AppData\Local\Temp\Synantec Touchpad.temp
    3) Click on "Setup" icon to run the file. (This file worked just fine on my P105-S9722 machine)
PCMCIA/Express Card/SD (TI) CARD READER - This driver will allow the PCMCIA, Express Card & SD Readers work normally on Windows 8/8.1.
There is issue with the Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller.  I did find a driver the does work:
Download: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated Flashmedia Controller
Nvidia Video Card - After loading the OS, the maximum resolution on the native drivers is only 1024 X 768.  In order to get the maximum resolution of 1440 X 900, a NVidia driver is required.
    Download: Nvidia GeForce Release 179
Once this is loaded, use Windows Updates to download the most recent drivers.  Windows 8.1 definitely has a newer driver.  It is a good idea to download the NVidia GeForce Experience so that newer drivers can be installed: Nvidia GeForce Experience
Fingerprint Reader (Biometrics Devices) - The Upek driver only goes up to Windows 7, but Windows 8/8.1 does have a native driver through AuthenTec that does work.  The Toshiba fingerprint utility will be needed in order to user the fingerprint reader.  The Toshiba Utility can be downloaded here:
    Upek Fingerprint Driver 5.8.0.4024
The utility should work with the native driver.
That's pretty much it for the basic drivers.  I did not include LAN or Wireless Drivers.
Finally make sure the most recent Bios are installed v4.70: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/sp100v470.exe
There are attachments and links, but let me know if anyone is not able to download or use any of these links posted.
Current Issues & Observations:  After I shut the computer down, when I open the screen, the computer automatically turn on.  I haven't figured that out yet, but I'm sure I'll post a fix in the near future.  The computer definitely boots much faster compared to Windows 7 and I've upgraded the older spinner drive with a Sata III SSD Drive.  Even with only 4GB of memory and the first generation Duo Core processor, P105-S9722 is still running well.
I may do another post if I decide to try out WIndows 10, but for now, it's nice to know that even though the old P100/P105 systems do not support anything over Windows Vista, we can use the contempory software on a system almost 10 years old.
    Good luck.

  • Oracle 11g install for WinXP 64-bit - is 32-bit client needed?

I just saw that the WinXP 64-bit version of 11g is now available.
Does anyone know if it is necessary to install both the 64-bit Database and 32-bit Client on the same machine for a development server. This was the procedure for 10gR2 as the 64-bit ODBC drivers would not work with 32-bit ODBC apps.
    Thanks!

    I submitted a TAR/SR on MetaLink...
    Yes... you need both.

  • Language choice for library to be linked in both KMDF and UMDF drivers

    Hello,
I'm writing a library that needs to be linked into both KMDF and UMDF drivers and was wondering if i can use C++ to write the library. C++ in UMDF should work fine, but going over lot of discussions about using C++ in KMDF drivers,
it looks like very basic C++ should work fine but using virtual functions, new/delete etc will probably come back and bite you in many ways. Most of these discussions are from way back in 2009 or earlier.
Do those still hold true ? What is the extent of C++ i can use in a library that will be linked into both UMDF and KMDF drivers ?
    Thanks
    -R___K

If you are using the Win8 WDK or later, you should be able to use a very limited C++ and the tools will flag constructs that are not supported.  The discussions you found are mostly still valid, there is no new and delete (unless you roll your
own), but you can use simple classes and C++ syntax.  Basically take a look at the old forum post
