  • Where to download Weblogic for linux 64

    Hi,
Can you please provide me with the link to download Weblogic for linux 64.
    Regards

    Hi ebitar,
afaik, there is no version of WebLogic 10.3 that is just for 64-bit Linux. You would need to install a 64-bit JVM and then download the generic weblogic installer from http://download.oracle.com/otn/bea/weblogic/server103/server103_generic.jar (I.e. the link located under the HP column of the download page).
Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

  • Cannot find where to download Gateway for SQL Server

I have searched OTN every which way to find the Oracle Transparent Gateway for SQL Server. I have checked my CD's and I have every one imaginable but not the one for SQL server. Why? Where is it hidden? I am trying to connect to a SQL Server 6.0 and an Oracle 8.1.6.3 Database at the same time.

    Hello,
All of the downloads are [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11.html]here. According to the [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/11/certification/index.html]certification page, JDev 11.1.1.3 is certified against Windows 2008 server, so I'd start by downloading the Windows version from there (even though they didn't update the description to say "for windows 2008")

  • Downloading java for linux

I have red hat linux v7.0. I want to download jdk1.3 for linux. There are 2 downloads for it.
    1.RedHat RPM shell script
    2.GNUZIP Tar shell script
I tried to download RedHat RPM shell script ,but it failed.
Can I use GNUZIP Tar shell script for redhat linux.

Yes, you can use the tar.gz shellscript, no problem. It's maybe even easier than the rpm.
After making the package runnable (the same with the RPM, if that was your problem: e.g. chmod 750 j2se-{version}.tar.gz.sh) and run it
(./j2se-{version}.tar.gz,sh), where you will be asked to agree to the SUN Java licence, the shell-script will create a .tar.gz in the directory. Then simply uncompress it (gunzip filename.tar.gz) and unpack it (tar xf filename.tar, you can also make uncompression and unpacking in one way, see man tar). You can unpack it directly to the right dir, or somewhere else, or in the current dir and then move it where you want it. Adding the PATH, if preffered, and it should work.
You can also take a look to
    http://www.blackdown.org
for special Linux JDK's. IBM is also providing JDK's (or j2se's as now called) for Linux, which are often benchmarked to be the fastest on Linux (e.g. the ibm-jdk-1.1.8 was mentioned the prefered one in the Readme in apache jserv and other Java - Tools).
Why does the download of the RPM failed ? Linux also has Download Manager (e.g. caitoo), or you give the URL to the JDK to wget (wget -c can continue the DL later on, if it breaks). It is known that Netscape sometimes corrupt Files, even on Win.

  • Can the server software be downloaded independently for SL server, as it can for 10.9?

I have a Mini with 10.6.8 and want to add server capabilities.  What are my options, aside from "find a used copy of SLS , buy it, and instal over your existing system"?
    Grant

If your box supports it, upgrade to Mavericks.   As you are aware, that involves purchasing and downloading OS X Server from the Mac App Store.
Snow Leopard Server is a separate DVD distribution, and it's getting tougher to deal with 10.6 in general — the newer AirPort can't be managed that far back, for instance.  Other software is already dropping 10.6, too.  You won't be able to remotely manage the 10.6 server from Mavericks, other than via command line or screen sharing.
As for your question, you can upgrade from Snow Leopard client to Snow Leopard Server given the DVD (possibly still available from Apple, if you call), though there are some wrinkles in how that is done depending on whether your Mac needs a newer version of Snow Leopard than the available Snow Leopard Server DVD might contain; there weren't as many releases of Snow Leopard Server as there were of Snow Leopard client.  If the OS X Server version is older than the OS X version your Mac requires, you'll have to boot 10.6 client, load the DVD, and install that way; you won't be able to boot the DVD directly.
Here's the Apple web page for older versions, but you may (will?) have to call and see if Snow Leopard Server is still available.
And FWIW and though I'm aware of OS X Server 10.6 boxes at various sites at various sites, I'd still encourage using 10.9 for new installations and not 10.6.

  • D-Link vs. Apple product for a server?

Greetings. Happy owner of a new Mac - actually, two. Family got a 20" iMac and MacBook to upgrade our other aging Macs.
I'm using our original D-Link router while waiting for kinks to be ironed out of the Time Capsule server before I buy that. I also took the Airport card out of our old iBook and put it in the old G4 Flat Panel.
Here's the deal: The router is situated in the center of the house. The iMac is about 15' away, the Flat Panel G4 is about 16' away, and the MacBook is a floater around the house.
The Flat Panel gets much better wireless reception - a full four bars on the thingy. The other two brand new computers have only three bar reception, and the Flat Panel is actually receiving the signal through a thicker wall.
What gives? I would think the much newer technology would be screaming fast and powerful. Would a new Mac base station - the Time Capsule or Airport Express - provide a stronger signal than the D-Link?
    Thanks in advance,
    Carlos

Yep, it's way out of date and newer routers can be set to specific frequencies in order to get rid of "noise makers" in the area. The noise comes from microwave ovens, some florescent lighting, electrical interference, other routers and probably a dozen other sources.
The newer routers have "boost" modes to help extend the range and quality of signals. In addition, if you can get all your equipment up to G speeds you will extend your range on the newer routers. They offer to transmit in B or G or both speeds. If you mix the speeds you cut down on the range significantly. Also, do you want to share files at 10 or 54 mb/s?
You didn't say what kind of broadband connection you are using, but if it's a cable modem you will have to disconnect the cable modem power (and sometimes the coax) before you plug in the router. Cable modems set themselves up to whatever device they first see and don't allow changing the equipment. Powering the modem down lets you reset the modem to see your new router. DSL modems from Telco's don't have this problem.
The good old G4 is very happy with a B speed router, it was designed for it, but your newer hardware is probably not responding as well as it could with a faster G or N speed router.
I like the Belkin routers for price and features. They have web browser based setup menu's, are easy to install firmware updates, they can back up their settings to your mac, and they seem to work well with iChat. I've put in a couple dozen of them in the last couple years, none have failed. Can't say the same for D-Link or Linksys (I've had several just die).
Of course, the Airport Base Stations are nice with their built-in print servers, and the new Time Capsule is very attractive for it's Time Machine ability and print server.
If I was starting fresh and had the bucks, I'd look real hard at a Time Capsule.

  • Correct Download Location for WL Server 9.2 MP3 for windows 64-bit

Can someone provide the correct location to get the installation media for 9.2.3?
When I look at edelivery all I see are jar files, and I'm looking for an exe (for example server923_winX64.exe.zip)
When I use KB 763603.1 BEA Release Archive to navigate to the patch p8211264_923_MSWIN-x86-64 indicates what I'm looking for, but the file in the zip file is server923_winia64.exe.
    thanks

I know, what can try to do is contact Oracle support to see if there is a generic version available.
What you also can try is download 64bit JDK (for example JRockit: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/jrockit/downloads/index.html)
Install the JDK and then install weblogic, choose custom install type and after a couple of nexts you get the JDK selection screen in which
you can add a local JDK. When you configure your domain you can select the 64bit JDK. Not sure if this is going to work!
