"...link to an asset being unsampled..."

On opening Muse to my site (not published by any host yet), a window appears saying "this document contains a link to an asset being unsampled...".  I've checked my assets and only one seems of disparate size: the arrow to the dropdown menu giving subpages.  I simply cannot change or remove it.  Tried removing the whole menu and remaking it, same problem.

Hi,
Check the Assets panel for any other image which has this symbol next to it,

  • 'This document contains a link to an asset being upscaled'

When opening two separate Muse sites I have received the warning message, 'This document contains a link to an asset being upscaled. You should resize it smaller, or relink to a larger asset using the Assets panel'. However, none of the assets that the site links to have been amended.
Does anyone know why this might be?
    Thanks.

I believe the warning you're referring to is "This document contains a link to an asset being upsampled."
Upsampling refers to the fact the image has been resized to a size larger than it's original pixel dimensions. For example a 72x72 pixel square image may have been placed then resized to 100x100. Such an image will be exported by Muse, but it will not have an optimal appearance in the browser due to being larger than it's original dimensions. (It's been "upsampled.")
In general you want to have all the images in your site be the same size or smaller than the original placed/imported image data in order to avoid upsampling. Slight upsampling can result in an image that looks dull or slightly blurred, depending on the browser being used. A large amount of upsampling will result in an image that appears pixelated in the browser.
This message is a warning. Whether or not the result of the upsampling is acceptable is a judgement call only you can make.
The Assets panel displays an icon next to any image that's being upsampled.
One other case where this will be reported is for any image that is larger the 2048 pixels in width or height. Muse initially limits image data to a 2048 maximum in either dimension. If you have an image that is larger than 2048, you need to select it in the Assets panel, right click and choose "Import Larger Size" from the context menu. This will pull in the additional image data for whatever size the image is in Muse and thus avoid any upsampling.

  • Error stating 2 links to assets being unsampled?

Not sure what this means. It displays every time I load the site into Adobe Muse.I use the assets  panel for displaying image assets and make sure all of the images are linked up. but if someone could please explain to m,e what this new error means. Thanks very much!
    Russ

Muse is warning you that some of your assets are being upsampled.
This means you've resized the image in Muse to a larger size than Muse has image data for.
For example, if you place an image file that is 200x200 pixels, and then resize it to 400x400px in Muse, it will look pixelated when viewed on your website. Muse warns you about this so you can either reduce the size of the image in Muse, or link to a higher resolution file.
Sometimes Muse won't pull in all the data from the file on disk if Muse doesn't think it needs to, so you might also see this warning along with a note that you can choose to 'import larger size' from the assets panel to get more image data from the original file.

  • Link to .pdf asset is jumping to top of page instead of opening .pdf

I am going crazy trying to figure out why one of my pages won't open its links.  It appears in the lower left corner of the browser to be linked to the correct asset, and if you right click the link and select to open the link in a new page it opens the .pdf fine.  But when you left click on the link then it just jumps to the top of the page as if it were anchored to the top of the page or something.  I don't understand it.  I've tried erasing the link, erasing the asset and relinking but it I can't figure it out.
    Here is the site:
    http://www.generationsprimarycare.com/physical-forms.html#peforms
On the right column, the top link is fine, the rest of the links that are linked to .pdfs in the right column don't work correctly
Thanks a bunch to anyone who can help.

  • Doc contains link to asset being upsampled

Asset window shows no errors as stated.
I even selected all images in the assets window and selected to upsample.

I found the problem in one customer document - if you have an asset which is both embedded and being upsampled, Muse shows the 'embedded' icon in the assets palette. I'll fix that for the next release of Muse, but if you encounter this problem, check if you have any embedded assets, and mouse over them in the assets palette until you get the little tooltip telling you the size of the asset and the size it's being used at. If the Page item size is larger than the original asset size, it will be upsampled. Here's an example:

  • Link to an asset up sampled

I get this msg  (the doc contains a link...) and have read the other blog about going back and upsampling, however, how do know which images is the problem?

In the Assets panel, you will see a small icon that looks a bit like a colored checker board. Right click on this and choose "Go To Asset". This will zoom on the image and select it for you.

  • Linked file in Asset folder won't read css

I have put a secondary navigation on my master page. Muse automatically uploads the file into an Asset folder on my server. The linked file in the asset folder does not display the css. I tried loading a second css file into the Asset folder (tried uploading both with css folder and by itself to no avail). I also tried linking it with the full url http://www.... but this doesn't work either. The only way to show the link with style sheet is to export the site to Dreamweaver and strip out asset/. My site has 30 pages total and I am adding information on it daily so this is not a good work around.

Nope, as noted in above posts:
    All icons look correct (and "get info" shows the proper apps);
I've copied to other drives, zipped, copied, unzipped and opened.
I'll try taking some over to my old G5 and see if there's any luck there.
It seems like in some way the folder was damaged in copying. I need to upgrade my Disk Warrior to work on this OS, that would adjust any directory/database problems.
I suppose I can pay Apple for their support time, but this one is pretty bizarre.

  • Re-linking After Effects assets inside Premiere

I have a premiere project that has a dynamically linked After Effects project. I wanted to rename the folder that all my footage resides in. When I do that I relink all my footage / After Effects files when I open the project. That all works great. However, the After Effects project itself is referencing the footage in the old location resulting in bars and tones showing up. How do I tell After Effects where the footage is now?
If I open up the After Effects project and double click on one of the missing assets to relink it, it trys to browse my hard drive looking for what I named the sub-clip inside Premiere. I need it to reference a clip inside Premiere.

That does work: you don't need to reference a clip inside PrPro, 'cos a clip inside PrPro is just the link to a footage on your hard drive. When you replace a clip or a group of clips in PrPro timeline with dynamically linked comp, AE creates a new composition and imports those clip(s) into the project. But then again, those clips are just links to original footages on your hard drive with properly set In and Out points in the newly created composition. Hence, select a missing clip in AE Project panel, right-click and choose Replace Footage -> File..., locate the original footage on your hard drive and open it up. If all missing footages are in the same folder, AE will automatically find the rest.

  • Inventory Link to Fixed Assets

    Hi,
I need some clarity on how the Oracle Inventory (INV) module is integrated with the Oracle Assets (FA) module.
My understanding is that the Mass Additions integration to FA is only from Oracle Payables (AP) and Project Accounting (PA). If this is true and one is not implementing PA the only available link to FA would be from AP.
In this scenario, I am stuck with a problem. Suppose 20 km of feeder equipment is purchased for a particular CIP and the Invoice entered in AP with the appropriate CIP Clg a/c, the Mass Addition line would appear in FA (presuming all the required conditions are fulfilled). This Mass Addition line can then be prepared and worked on in FA. However, if the organization purchases in bulk and stocks it in INV, it would be wrong to push it to FA from AP as CIP. As and when the issues take place to the CIP the lines should move to FA. However, in such a case AP would be effected only when the invoice is processed and not subsequently at the time of the issues. How does one handle this business scenario which is very common in the Telcom industry? Is having PA the only solution to link Inventory issues to FA?
An early response to the issue would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Amit

    Check for three things:
    1) The distributiion account in Payables is a Asset clearing account
    2) Track as an asset flag is updated to "Yes"
    3) The Payables Invoice has been accounted and transferred to GL

  • How do I stop Flash assets being transcoded?

Now that there's no DL between Premiere CC and Encore CS6 how do I get Flash assets into Encore without them being retranscoded?
I can get Encore to not transcode DVD and Blu-ray assets that I've created and exported from Premiere, but not Flash ones.
Obviously I don't want to recompress a compressed F4V file.
If there's no way of telling Encore not to transcode it, what's the best format for exporting 1280 x 720 assets from Premiere CC that originated in a 1920x1080i sequence?
    Thanks!
    Mark

    Hi Stan,
I've tried my best to see if I can get Encore not to transcode a flash file, but I think that, since there's no flash preset (unlike the DVD and Blu-ray presets), I just can't fool it.
However, here's my workaround: I output the flash file any old way: using the DVD or Blu-ray assets, whatever. And then in the output directory it creates I can replace its created assets (in the sources folder) with my own simply by renaming and replacing my own encoded assets with the ones Encore created for me. There's a visible quality improvement doing it this way, and no unnecessary re-encoding.
Of course this is all a bit old-hat anyhow as we'll be doing it the HTML5 way with some Edge program or another any minute now! But for the moment....
Thanks for your help and suggestions!
    Cheers

  • How do I stop links on pages from being highlighed with color? Doesn't happen with Explorer - just Firefox. It is annoying

When I open web pages using Firefox, all of the outbound links
on the page are have a colored shading around them. Not only
is it annoying, sometime it's the same color as the link text which
    makes the link unreadable.
I know this must be a simple adjustment, but I have looked high and
low, googled, etc., and cannot find a satisfactory answer.
    Help!

If the background of links is red then that is probably caused by an extension like SEO or SearchStatus that has the option set to highlight noFollow links.
You can check the options of such an extension.
You can click the icon on the Status bar to open the SearchStatus options and un-tick "Highlight NoFollow Links"<br />

  • Does Mac Mail's "Quick Look URL" option for links prevent software from being downloaded onto my computer?

I received an e-mail from a friend that had a suspicious looking link embedded in it. I did not navigate to the link in my web browser but I did do a "quick look" in Mac Mail. Does this open me up to any vulnerability? If so, is there a way to check to see if any malicious software and/or viruses were downloaded onto my MacBook?
    Thanks!

    Hi Dave,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
It's possible (more likely the drive is dead) that the drive's directory is damaged. If that's the case, Disk Warrior may be able to fix it. At $80US for Disk Warrior, I'd be more inclined to replace the drive. If your patient and can wield a few small tools, you can replace it yourself.
