Link to an unsampled asset?

I'm getting the message "This document contains a link to an asset being unsampled. You should resize it smaller or right-mouse click on the asset in the Assets Panel to see additional options." Anyone know what this is referring to?

You probably resized one of your asset images too large.
Muse is already giving you a resolution to fix this message by resizing the image to a smaller size.

Working with "unsampled" assets

There are three images on my site that, by necessity, are smaller than the image window I've established. These pictures are tagged as being "unsampled."
When I enlarge them to fit the window, they're fine initially, but then,when I preview the site, they inexplicably revert to their original size, which is too small for my use.
I had this problem a year ago when I was developing my first Muse site. Eventually I stumbled onto a workaround, as described here:

But this option doesn't seem to exist any more, as far as I can tell. When I go to the assets panel, it doesn't prompt me to "import larger image size."
Is there a way to include unsampled images on your site? I don't want to have to remake the pictures in Photoshop.

My question was not about what is an unsampled image. My question is about how to get around this. By necessity, the photographs I've imported must appear a little larger than 100% of their original size. I'm prepared to accept a little pixelation. The problem is that Muse is summarily rejecting the image and making it revert to the original size and not giving me an option to let the image appear at my preferred size.
How does one get around this?

Muse Publishing: why do some some menu links URL include an /assets/

After I publish my site some Menu links include in the link url /assets/file.html which displays incorrectly ie basic text and images all listed not wysywig. Pages that link to html files directly are OK.
How to I avoid the /assets/name.html urls being created when I publish?

Muse will put all photos etc into a folder called images... anything else like say an mp3 sound file will be placed into the assets folder.
When you made this page did you tell Muse to upload the assets? if not then they are prob still on your local system.

Missing and Unsampled Assets

Each time that I open up Adobe Muse, I get a message similar to the one below. What is this referring to?

These messages refer to the images and other assets used to create the .muse file that you are looking at.
There are 2 messages here. The first one warns that an image has been made larger in Muse than it was originally. Doing this will lower it's visual quality. Since this is usually undesirable, Muse warns when one of these situations exist.
The second message warns that Muse no longer knows the location of the images and other assets used to make the Muse file. This can happen if the folders containing the assets have been moved or renamed, or more likely, because the Muse file was moved/emailed but the images and other assets were not.
The Assets panel will give you some options to resolve these messages. In most situations, these are just messages for your information and not blocking errors. There are a few situations when you will want Muse to know where the assets used to create the .muse file are located.

Problem Linking Windows PP Project Assets and Mac PP Project Assets

I know we are not the only people experiencing this, but perhaps someone has found a solution.
We have both Windows and Macs running Adobe Premiere Pro CC. When you save a project on one platform, the other platform won't link the files. Thanks in part to Windows antiquated DOS volume naming system that makes every volume have a drive letter.
Is there a work around to having to search out the files that Premiere can't find due to this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.
We save all the files on a shared Facilis 48TB Terablock.

This is not an answer but an addition to this problem. I am not trying to hijack but i feel my issues are very similar to what BMercer was having.
I just recently bought the new mac pro with 500gb ssd internal , 6 core, 64gb ram and dual d700s.
I upgrade and purchased CC after i was pretty well convinced that CC was the way to go for this computer as opposed to CS6.
Fo how much i spent on this new computer and new CC subscription i feel this should be functioning better.
I have noticed when i have very basic files on the timeline(1920x1080, no effects) they are still dropping frames or i cannot scrub through them smoothly. As mentioned by BMercer for a machine capable of handling 6k these DSLR files should be pretty simple.
I am trying to do a time lapse for a client and I am having extremely slow load times. This is more difficult but i still believe it should be loading way faster then this.
About 2000 frames of raw DSLR photos simply compiled in AE then opened the sequences in PP and placed them into the timeline. This is taking about 45-60min to render the timeline. I have to do this because scrubbing or trying to play goes nowhere.
This i could accept as well except for when i look at the stats of the computer in the activity monitor and Istats the CPU maintains a 60-70% idle, the GPU stays very low and the max ram combined usage is about 15gb(memory pressure doesn't even show on the graph). So I would assume from this there is nothing i can see that is "holding" the computer back.
I have the exact same MBP as BMercer and i am having far less issues with doing the exact same files rendered from a relatively slow thunderbolt external drive.
Is this a setting issue? Or is this something we can expect to see an update to?

Linked file in Asset folder won't read css

I have put a secondary navigation on my master page. Muse automatically uploads the file into an Asset folder on my server. The linked file in the asset folder does not display the css. I tried loading a second css file into the Asset folder (tried uploading both with css folder and by itself to no avail). I also tried linking it with the full url http://www.... but this doesn't work either. The only way to show the link with style sheet is to export the site to Dreamweaver and strip out asset/. My site has 30 pages total and I am adding information on it daily so this is not a good work around.

Nope, as noted in above posts:
All icons look correct (and "get info" shows the proper apps);
I've copied to other drives, zipped, copied, unzipped and opened.
I'll try taking some over to my old G5 and see if there's any luck there.
It seems like in some way the folder was damaged in copying. I need to upgrade my Disk Warrior to work on this OS, that would adjust any directory/database problems.
I suppose I can pay Apple for their support time, but this one is pretty bizarre.

Link to .pdf asset is jumping to top of page instead of opening .pdf

I am going crazy trying to figure out why one of my pages won't open its links. It appears in the lower left corner of the browser to be linked to the correct asset, and if you right click the link and select to open the link in a new page it opens the .pdf fine. But when you left click on the link then it just jumps to the top of the page as if it were anchored to the top of the page or something. I don't understand it. I've tried erasing the link, erasing the asset and relinking but it I can't figure it out.

Does anyone use InDesign CC with Assets to work with a group of people using the same links?

We have a group of about 15 people who are all in different locations and we're looking at using CC Assets as our file sharing/storage system. Has anyone done this with success? We create large maps with a lot of links on them that we should want to all of those links to live in Assets instead of on 15 different computers.
Any help/suggestions you could give would be great.

Yeh you could do that - or you could get a dropbox account and install and login the same account on all computers.
Then you get notified of file changes and there will be backups generated automatically and files will be synced on all computers.
I'm not familiar with CC Assets - so I can't comment on it.

Re-using the same asset with 'live link'

I have a project with the same asset (a line of text) that I re-use in 20 groups. It's the same text. I am tired of duplicating the text group for each new group that it's going in. Is there a better way where I can use the same asset and retain a 'link' to the initial asset and then if I change something ( e.g. text treatment) there, it will update all of the 20 groups it's used in? Thanks.

Clones will do what you ask. Clone the text as often as you need, and if you need to change the text, or the color it'll update all the clones.

when trying to retire an asset linked to a group asset, please carefully check the values on your group asset.
Sometimes the error occurs if a dep. area is assigned to a group asset and the transactions on this area amount to zero.
May I invite you to review below notes also. You may find, that certain constellations with your situation could
be valid, too.

New user to Oracle 11i who needs help on creation of new fixed asset class

Hi all,
I am new to my Company who is using Oracle 11i. And the Company has a new class of fixed asset and a GL code has been created. But there is no link between the Fixed Asset Manager and the GL code, i.e. depreciation is not linked, additions are not captured into "Cost register", no asset number was assigned in Oracle. Please help.

Hi.
No, Simon, it does not work that way.
First, be sure that the distribution line has the flag "Track as Asset" checked.
Second, the GL Account to be used on the distribution line must be the one defined, in the FA Asset Category, as the Asset Clearing Account.
In FA, navigate to /Setup/Asset System/Asset Categories. Following, query a Category. There you can see which account has been used as the Asset Clearing Account.
You can use as many Asset Clearing accounts as you which, but normally, all Categories share the same account.
Now reverse the distribution line and cretae a new one with the correct account. Post it, run the Mass Additions Process and you will see the that the addition was created.

Settlement of Internal order to Asset under construction (AUC)

Hi,
To All
While settling an internal order to AUC through KO88 it shows already settled whereas the balance of the internal remains the same and while settling AUC the error shows "there is no line item".
What can be the problem, why internal order is not settling to AUC?
Has anybody face this issue before? I have spent hell of the time on this issue but haven't resolved this. I would greatly appreciate your response on this.

Attachment/Link woes in Presenter

I'm having issues with attachments and links in Presenter. We
are publishing locally and not necessarily using the LMS to
distribute the courseware.
I have read the online help file's disclaimer and the
TechNote about attachments not working in locally-published
presentations. Is there ANY way around this? The "workaround" they
give in the technote/helpfile is not working for me (create a
hyperlink within PPT that links to the file on a network drive.) I
think I'm not fully understanding how "links" are supposed to work
within a Presenter file. Any help would be appreciated.
The two things I want to do are:
1) Have hyperlinks to our company's intranet, actually work
within Presenter slides. (These are
http:// links within the PPT slides.) They work
for me, but not for others. (Is it a Flash Player security
setting??)
2) Have users be able to launch a .PDF attachment from the
Attachments (paperclip) button. I really don't care where it's
stored -- with the Presenter file on the intranet? Somewhere on our
network? Wherever it works.

have another folder called

I'm hoping that its obvious to everyone that the localPublish
folder will utlimately contain the published presentation. Think of
it this way: the extAssets directory is nested in the same location
of the published deck; this way, if you have to republish your ppt
file, the contents within the extAssets folder will NEVER be messed
with!
That said, to resolve the error in pointing to a bogus url, I
simply redirected a hyperlink in powerpoint:
../../extAssets/myWordDoc.doc
Once I republished the file and tested the playback, the word
document loaded and displayed properly (after waiting for Word to
launch of course!). Bottom line, it's working, and fortunately all
it took was a redirection of the link pointing to the asset I want
to display. Also, I tried publishing 2 ways: to my project folder
as well as the default My Adobe Presentations folder.
In both cases, each presentation had resolved links to
external files.
Again, I think that Presenter 6.0 is looking for assets
originating in the resources directory by default; by using the
"../../" syntax, we're telling Presenter to look 2 directories up
and out of the Resources folder. This redirection forces the
browser to hunt down the file outside of the Data folder and should
display the file(s) successfully.
Because I absolutely hate testing in an isolated manner (no
to mention sounding like a complete idiot if this doesn't work for
others!), what I'd like folks to do if possible: retype the
hyperlink as indicated above. Please test this yourselves and
report your findings here.

CS5- Custom Links to EPS Files Don't Work?

I am building a plugin that allows a user to place graphic assets from our own external asset management system into their InDesign document. These assets need to maintain a "custom link" to the external assets.
Everything was working great for simple raster image formats (like JPEG) but the custom link information seems to get lost for EPS files.
After doing some deep debugging I decided to try building one of the sample plugins that ship with CS5 - 'customdatalink' and the accompanying 'customdatalinkui'. This sample does a similar type of thing with CSV files that reference external assets.
To make a long story short, the sample plugin exhibits the exact same behavior. If you edit one of the sample csv files to point to an EPS image and place that in a document, you'll see that the Link URI is replaced with a file:// style path instead of the custom csv:// URI. It works as expected for JPEG files.
Surely this is not expected behavior. Am I missing something obious here or is this a simple (but pretty major for my plugin) bug?

Here's a bit more detail. Again the idea is to return an IPMStream that doesn't include a IID_IFILESTREAMDATA. So I make a proxy IPMStream that just forwards requests to a real IPMStream.
I've abbreviated a bit here for space reasons.
So I make my own IPMStream object adding the class to my .fr file:

Tell my proxyStream about the realStream
proxyStream->SetRealStream(proxyStream);
and CreateResourceReadStream returns my proxyStream

Video asset in button cropped - Unable to match aspect ratios

I am using the Apple "Light Frame" button and linking an mpeg2 video asset to that button to look like active, mini 16 X 9 plasma televisions for my scene selection menu. Unfortunately it insists on cropping out much of my mp2 video image. Following the instruction in DVDSP4 manual on pages 275-76 only moves my image L to R and never shows me the whole image. The same seems to be the case using the "Light Frame" drop zone template. Am I completely going about it using the wrong method? How can I successfully match the aspect ratio of both the button's area and the associated asset?

Dual 2.5 PowerPC G5 Mac OS X (10.4.3) 2.5 GB SDRAM

I have found that if I drag & drop a video asset to the menu and select "Create button and track" then I can correctly resize the thumbnail video to fit inside the frame of the button template while keeping the 16X9 aspect ratio. That works out very well except for the desired animated effect of the "Light Frame" television turning on and off becomes covered. Does anyone know of a better solution for creating a television thumbnail menu effect?
I'm new to this and would appreciate any help available. I've searched the forums over and found no posting on this.
