Link to App Store opens iTunes

I find an App that I would like to purchase. The Safari page for the App opens that says Mac App Store Preview. There is a button on that page that says View in Mac App Store. When I press this button, it opens iTunes instead and says that can not be purchased in the US (or something like that). If I manually go to the App Store and search on the application, I can easily find it and purchase it. This has happened with multiple apps. How do I get the link in Safari to open the App Store instead of iTunes?

Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.
In the meantime ...........

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Apps Store opens ITunes Store - Help

New 8gig iTouch. Was working fine until it was synced with iTunes on my PC.
Now when I click the Apps Store, it starts to load then switches and loads the iTunes Store instead.
    Any Ideas?

You might want to check to see that your "iTouch" has the latest firmware update and that iTunes has also been updated. You didn't give much information so it's difficult to say where you should start. Are you syncing with two different computers? Did you specify that you wanted to sync with the second computer when you connected the iPod? It might be switching out of the App store to prevent moving apps to iPods that are not set to sync.
Provide more information about your hardware and how you have set it up and it will be easier to diagnose your problem.

  • Unable to open App Store and iTunes in iOS 8 ???

Upon restoring from IOS 7.1 to 8. ### I have to been unable to open the App Store nor ITunes.  Plus the speed of the mini iPad has deceased considerable accessing sites but the download speeds are 40 for downloading and 10 plus for uploading when running speed test app.  How many others have had or still have that problem and any solutions or adjustments to settings??

    Try this:
    1. Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off
    2. Set the date ahead by a few months
    3. You should then be able to connect to the store

  • TS1398 my ipad is connected to my wi-fi but the app store and itunes store never  open, the internet nev    er works and it is always  loading. i dont understand as it is a brand new ipad.

my ipad is connected to my wifi but the app store and itunes store never open, the internet never works and it is always loading but never working. I dont understand why as my computer works for my wifi and my brand new ipad should too.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Why wouldn't iTunes or App Store open?

App Store and iTunes are not willing to open even when my 3G works fine with Safari. Is there something that I would need to do for it to connect?

There have been lots of threads about this on the iPad forum on this site.  One person said that he contacted Apple and it's an issue with Apple servers and not with the devices themselves, but it isn't a problem for everyone.
Everybody there only seems to be mentioning the App Store being an issue, so I am glad to read here that people are also having issues with the iTunes Store.  Mine is only not working for iTunes, my App Store is fine.  They both work on my iPhone 4S, but my iPad, the iTunes Store won't work.
I think it is just a matter of time.  I wouldn't waste your time with backing up and restoring your devices, as it likely won't help.

  • IPod touch not opening app store or itunes store

My brothers iPod touch will not open the iTunes store or App Store. I restored the iPod but it is still not working.
    -Sam

Neither of these are the problems, but I did notice that the App Store will add badges when he needs updates, but when I attempt to open the App Store or iTunes Store it keeps saying it is loading, but thats all that it does.

  • ITunes closes, App Store opens

I used iTunes once on my iPad. NOS it seems when i open iTunes on my iPad, it loads, shows screen, but then closes and App store opens instead. So i can not browse music ...
    Anyone has an idea?

Strangely enough I have exactly the opposite problem with the app store opening momentarily when the app store button is pressed, then closing and the iTunes store opening. Tried resetting loads of times yet the same thing happens. Think this may be a bug. Am also running latest operating system and the iPad is not jail broken.
Anybody got any ideas? Looking around yet can't find anybody else with any solutions apart from reset. Or possibly a complete rebuild .. But as we all know this is a giant time suck.

    Have you restarted your phone?
If so, try a reset. Press and hold the home & sleep/wake buttons until the screen goes blank, ignoring the power off slider if it comes up.
Check for the app again after the phone starts back up.

  • Can't open app store in itunes when connected with ipad

Hi. Could anybody tell me how I can use app store in itunes when connected with ipad 2? When I click app store, it just gives no response at all. Thanks a lot!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Do you have the power cable in, it won't show up with the power cable in.
Additionally, there have been some issues with the update servers, it's possible you won't be able to complete the update procedure anyway.

    Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
              8.8.8.8
              8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the  Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
    2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

  • Can't connect to App Store or iTunes Store

For the past two days, I haven't been able to connect to the App Store or iTunes Store. This is happening on all Apple devices connected to my home network - a new iMac, iPad Air, and iPhone 5. Every attempt to open the App Store or iTunes Store results in a spinning wheel for a few minutes followed by an error message "Can't connect to the (App/iTunes) Store". The App Store will display the Updates and Purchased Items, but that's all. It will not open Featured or Top Charts. I have tried with wifi and with an ethernet cable to connect the iMac. Here's where things get weird. My iPhone will open the App Store and iTunes Store if I turn off wifi and use LTE. I can do the same with my iPad if I use the iPhone as a hotspot. I connected the iPhone to two different wifi networks away from home and had the same issue... works over LTE cellular, but not wifi. In addition to this, all of the Apple support pages load extremely slowly, I am using an Airport Extreme as router. I've reset the cable modem, reset the router, reset network setting on the devices, powered down all devices, etc. All other web apps and web pages load just fine. Only those related to App Store, iTunes and Apple Support seem to be affected. The Apple main and product pages also load with no problem. Is anyone else having problems with the App Store and iTunes Store? Is there an obscure setting somewhere that I'm missing? Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago.
