Link to BPS from Web Template

Dear friends,
Urgent requirement!!!
I need a huge helps from you all as based on my requirement.
Is it possible to give a link from the web template to the BPS dialouge function where the user can enter the values?
When the user clicks the link it has to display the dialouge where the user can enter the values...
Also from the web template chart when i click on a particular plant will it give the detailed report in the next page of the particular plant automatically
I need your helps please.....

Bi call document browser from web template wad 7.0

Hi,
Is it possible to customize the document browser dialog when calling via command "OPEN_DIALOG_DLG_DOC_BROWSER" from web template.
The iframe within the browser has a fixed size, so when opening a document the iframe is always too small and does not change the size, also when changing the size of the document browser window.
Is there a possibility opening the documents in a new window instead of opening in the iframe?
From WAD I have not found any possibility solving this. Maybe it's possible to change the web dynpro. Does anybody know the web dynpro / component for the document browser?

Thanks for your reply, but what i want to know is from WEB template how can we get variable to pass it to BSP page.
Eg: If i have using hierarchical object in my WEB template and i want know which node(level) i have selected, how i can achieve that, if i am able to do that then i can pass it to my BSP page.

Problem when exporting Query from Web template to Excel Sheet.

Hello,
Im encoutering a problem when im trying to export query output from web template to excel sheet.
A popup windown appears when excel sheet opens which reads.."problem cameup in the following areas during load : Cell Value".The report layout appears to be fine but the totals shows unwanted values starting with * followed by number.
Any valuable inputs, what could be the problem. where can i rectify the same.

Thanks for ur time and response but the option u mentioned did not serve my purpose.
The problem seems to be only with pirticular cells.As mentioned earlier the layout appears properly..all the values are seen..but the end result..totals are disturbed.
eg: If the report shows in template the total value :20,668,554...when exported the values is shown as **668553.88000000600000.
So what could be the problem ? any template setting ? global setting to look at ?

Creating PDF from web template

Hello,
I have question on you who use creating PDF from web templates. We want to implement this opportunity in our company. We know all conditions for implementation but we didn´t see yet the final result for end user. We have SAP BW 3.5. Do you know if it´s possible use (create) some new icon on web template e.g. PDF and via this icon create the PDF file or another user-friendly solution?

How to use stylesheet from web-template in portal

Hello all,
I want to integrate a web application consisting of several web-templates (BW 3.5) into a portal (EP 6.0) via iviews.
When called from the portal the web-templates stylesheets are replaced by portal stylesheets.
How do I force the portal to use the web-templates stylesheets.

You can define the styles you want in a *.css file then put a link in your jsp to use these styles. You can also just put the styles directly in your jsp. Either should work

Hidden Objects from Web Templates

Hello,
I have two tabs on a web template.
- On the first tab I only want to see the table
- On the second one I want to see the chart.
I only want to see the Information from one sub- template on every tab)
But the result is: If I click on the second button I see both (table and chart).
So how can I hidde this table if I click on the second tab

Mail from Web Template : body text

Hello,
i created a button in my web template so that users can send a mail to confirm they have checked this months data. Nothing to fancy about it (not getting dynamicaly the variable values just some fixed text).
This is the code i used:

This works fine.
Now my question : i want to have multiple lines in my body and i can't get thjis working (logic since i don't know much of HTML ). Anybody any suggestions?

Hi Tom,
One small change whatever you are writing in
Value="....."
This Text will come on Button.
So as explained earlier if you want more text on button you can do that.
If you want more text in body than I think simply you can use
<FORM action="mailto:[email protected]     ?subject=I have checked and approve the data for this month      &body=Best regards \n Tom"
i.e. use "\n".

NO header detail appears when downloading to excel from web template

When we run our queries via a web template and through the portal we get the results which shows the query title and report details. When we try to download this to excel the header(report title etc. )information doesn't come down but all the rest of the report does. If we go in again and change the variable values for characteristics (query is being changed and run the web template (via portal)again and download to excel the header (report title etc.)the whole report title and report detail now appear. Looking for someone who has resolved this problem.

For anyone who is interested, this was caused by our email client, not BIP.

Link to files from web page

I need to create an archive of newsletters that can be accessed from our web page. What I have in mind is a news page with a list of newsletter files by date and a link to the file so that they can open which ever one they want from the list. The newsletters are in Pages format and in PDF. They are about 6 to 10 megs each in good quality PDF but much larger in Pages. I have tried export to iWeb but teh file dos not open. I put a PDF version on my iDisk and created a hyper link to it and that sort of works -- takes a long time to open and since it is in blog page there is a bunch of previw stuff shown that I don't want. I'd guess there is an easy way to do this - but I can't sort it out and the help and tutorials don't cover this.

Export your file from Pages as a PDF and ZIP it from Finder/Create archive.
Create a link to each document on an iWeb page and, in the link inspector, choose link to a file and select a file. The link will not work in iWeb but, when clicked in the browser, will download the file to the viewer's desktop.

I can no longer link to emails from web pages: Before, clicking on site's "email person," that address would appear in my email's "TO:" field. Now, yahoo (my email) pops up, asks for password, but does NOT copy email address into the "TO:" field.

Windows operating system; Firefox is up to date.

I do believe that it IS a Firefox problem. I didn't have the problem before updating Firefox. Check out this site from Yahoo Answers. It's the same problem, but the advice is no longer accurate: The question was posted years ago, and the "fix" is for an outdated Explorer version. However, the Asker poses the question quite well.

To decide save site as a template, web template or site definition

hi,
I have to create a generic site template which has few tabs in the home page and on click of these links/tabs
in this site template it will navigate to the sub sites created under that[this generic site template shud contain 3 sub sites -
[1 blog, 1 search center sub site, meeting workspace as tabs in the site template’s top navigation] and
a) 2 Doc Libs
b) 2 splists by default present in this site template [ most prob. its a team site template]
What should be the correct approach for creating this site template:
I have thought of implementing using:
a) save site as a template and upload this wsp into the solution gallery. and based on this site template
i will create new subsites. one problem i will be facing is that, mine is a publishing site template not team site template.
b) create a web template having the above subsites and doc libs and splists
c) last option is to create a site definition [ complex ]
which one should i choose, assuming that, there would be future changes from customer side in the
site template.like, adding a new splist, sp doclic or a new custom web part.
in that case, adding a new addtion to the already existing site template will not affect/reflect the already running
sites' content.
only those new sites which is created based on the updated site template would be having the new additions
implemented.
help is highly appreciated.

From your description, the most concern you might have is that customers will have the requirements to add other components into their sites and created with them afterwards.
Since SharePoint 2010, it is recommended to take use of something like “a la carte” pattern to manage SharePoint sites. If there are needs to add sites, lists or other components,
we can make them as solution(.wsp) and deploy to our sites. By doing this, we will be more flexible and easier to manage the features and structure of sites.
So you can just create a site template with simple structure and deploy the solutions you want after sites created.
