Link to Community in 4.5WS

I am trying to create a gadget in 4.5WS that provides a list of communities which when the user clicks on the link they are taken to that community. I have tried to follow the guidance given in one of the Plumtree Knowledge base articles which basicaully said all you needed to do was enter a URL along the lines of http://portal/myportal/communities/community.asp?intCommunityIndex=14&intCurrentPageIndex=0, which was basically taken from the address box when viewing that community myself and removing the userid. Although this works for me, when other users try it they are taken to the first community on their community list rather than the one I prescribe.
Can anybody confirm this is the best way of doing it in 4.5WS, or offer any alternatives. I also have the problem to handle in that some of the users might not have access to the community listed so it would be nice to be able to trap this and present some form of message to them if they try and visit one of these. I have seen a similar thread in this discussion from early last year but the ideas in that did not seem to work for me either.

Nevermind. Found how to add this link. Somehow was able to add a link by pasting the absolute link URL in both the "Link Text" and "URL or Email" fields.

    Hi Somnath,
    when the error occurs check the url of the page that cannot be displayed and verify if the hostname is correct.
    It could be a problem of not right setting in exchange profile.
    Also verify that you have enough authorization, trying to logon with PISUPER user if you can.

    Looks to me (and I haven't been advised on changes) that this is a customer protection.  I don't know what the previous policy was, but this guarantees that if FiOS is no longer serviced in your area, you cannot be charged an early termination fee if there remains time left on your account.  It seems obvious that you wouldn't be he held responsible in such a case, but this is just putting it in writing.

  • Reg jdbc communication channell proccessing

    I have scenario i.e JDBC to RFC
    but i need  small calrification like is it possible to trigger the jdbc sender communication channel automatically whne the file tirggerd from the orcle Database
    like without giving the any polling intervals CC should poll when the file triggerd.
    i am not going to use that file its just a flag to start the communication channel
    can we achive this through OS commands ???

    Yes you can write script and control the channels externally like give start or stop command at your specified requirement time.

  • I cannot post web links

    Since a few days I am unable to insert web links in my replies.
    When I do I get a message saying that "You cannot create empty posts". It seems that answers containing web links are not accepted.
    Previously I was able to insert links.
    Does anyone else experience this? Has the policy of the forum website changed to not allow web links anymore?

    It isn't clear from your post to which non-Oracle database you are trying to connect and how you are trying to do it.
    Ignore the attempt from Apps for now. If we can get it working from SQLPLUS to simplify things then it should work from an Apps connection.
    Could you load the following files -
    - listener.ora
    - tnsnames.ora
    - init<dg4odbc_sid>.ora
    - create database link statement
    - select run in SQLPLUS and the full output shown.
    - name and version of third party ODBC driver being used
    I also see you are using 10.2.0.3. If you are using this with 11g DG4ODBC then make sure you have applied the patch 5965763 to your RDBMS. This is mandatory to use 10.2.0.3 and 11g gateways.
    If you are not using DG4ODBC we still need to see the configuration files but you should install and use DG4ODBC instead of HSODBC as that is now desupported and replaced by the 11g DG4ODBC.

    finally there seems to be a new BIOS available on the website. Unfortunately, the link is broken.
    Here it does say version 1.15 is available:

    On the linked site you can still only download the "ancient" 1.02 BIOS.
    Please fix this link!

    For type 0769, the new version is 1.15, file 68ET35WW.iso found HERE
    I understand there may be reports of other versions 2.xx circulating, but suggest that these two files are the lattest from Lenovo as of this date (5/5/08) available for download.  The 2.xx may be a different numbering scheme.   Please check the related file name against those above.
    We should also track down other downlevel doccuments / tips which included older versions of bios.  Please point out any downlevel links the community may find that we have missed.

  • Error during sxi_cache refresh after upgrade 3.0 to PI 7.11

    During sxi_cache we are getting the error
    com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.InternalErrorException: Internal error: Link from Communication Component  | IP_NSP1007_001_PS020_BeoordelingOudeManager to object type "MAPPING" with role "IFOUT" is not permitted
    where IP_NSP1007.. is an Integration Process.
    we also getting the error when displaying a configuration object :

        The problem is with the patch level after upgrading to PI 7.11. AS suggested by Hareen..Apply the latest patch (note:1344144). The problem will be resolved.

  • Trying to figure out what's using my RAM

    A couple of weeks ago I starting to notice that my memory was getting chewed up slowly until I'd hit around 20MB remaining. the only way that I could free up the space is through 3rd party memory utilities such as FreeMemory. It appears on further inspection memory appears to go inactive, but this isn't very healthy, yet very odd, so I'm trying to figure out if there's a memory leak somewhere.
    Any help would be wonderful. Below is my Etracheck log. I've attempted to remove alll external hard drives and other devices connected via either thunderbolt and USB with no change. Rebooted a few times however the memory gets eaten right up again.
    My initial thought was that it's somehow VMWare however my Windows 7 instance is running at a fixed rate, and even with the instance shut down, my computer would still eat up any available memory.

    You have waaaaaay, waaaaaay too much software and "garbageware" installed on your Mac!
    Plus, you are treating your Mac too, tooo much like a Windows PC!
    Are you a former WindowsPC user?
    You do not need all of this software crap and "garbageware" you have installed on your Mac.
    How many applications do you run simultaneously in the background while working in another application?
    With 16 GBs of RAM, you should not be experiencing any memory Page out issues. Yet, you have over a GB of memory Page outs!
    You are, probably running tooo many applications at once. You need to cut back the amount of open applications that you have up and running concurrently OR install even MORE RAM!
    Your year and model Mac can take up to 32 GBs of RAM.
    Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
    Unless you are running Kaspersky antivirus software under your Windows setup, completely uninstall this from OS X per instructions on the developer's website.
    OS X does not need antivirus software. Antivirus software can slow down the normal operation of OS X and have adverse and negative effects on performance and operation of OS X.
    Compleley uninstall CleanMyMac per the instructions on the developer's website.

    Again, you have waaaaay toooo many user startup/login items!
    You need to really, REALLY, look at these at determine what you need to have launch at startup or Login.
    You really need to whittle this waaaay down!
    All of these items launching at startup/login is causing a large part of your Mac slowdowns.
    Add or remove automatic items
    Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
    Select your user account, then click Login Items.
    Do one of the following:
    Click Add below the list on the right, select an app, document, folder, or disk, then click Add.If you don’t want an item’s windows to be visible after login, select Hide. (Hide does not apply to servers, which always appear in the Finder after login.)
    Select the name of the item you want to prevent from opening automatically, then click Delete below the list on the right.
    Google software is ,currently, not 100% compatible/compliant with OS X Mavericks. Especially Google Chrome and Drive.
    So, uninstall all Google software per the instructions on Google's website until Google posts an "official" fix/update for these.
    If you do not like Apple's Safari Web browser, try using Mozilla Firefox, instead. Mozilla constantly updates FireFox and there is a new update available.
    Also, Telestream Flip4Mac plugin is an issue on OS X Mavericks. If there is no Mavericks update for this plugin, then completely unistall this plugin per instructions on the Telestream website. Use the newest version of VLC player, instead.
    Completely Uninstall MacFUSE. There hasn't been any updates for this in a couple of years and is outdated and incompatible with Mavericks. Uninstall per instructions on the developer's website, also.
    You need to update all of your third party software if there are OS X Mavericks updates that can be applied.
    You may need to,ACTUALLY,  go to the third party developers' websites if there are no updates through the Mac App Store.
    Update all of your Web browser Internet plugins, extensions and add ons, also.
    Also, if you have any connected third party devices, like non-Apple keyboards, mice, drawing tablets, hubs, card  readers, etc, you need to go to the device makers' websites' and update the drivers for these devices to OS X Mavericks compatible versions, if available, applicable and needed.

  • Visual Studio takes long time to start up

    When starting Visual Studio on my machine it used to take a few seconds to start up and be ready to either open or create a new project. Recently however I am finding that it is hanging - stuck on "Updating the News Channel"  and "Connecting
    to " Visual studio Online. It remains unresponsive until these actions are completed.  I have a fast internet connection and a fast computer with solid state drive.  I have not experienced any issues browsing using IE or using other applications. 
    Is there any suggestion that can help improve this situation?

    What does "Updating the news Channel" mean? You mean that open the VS IDE, and then some links or videos showed in the start page.
    Maybe you could change some settings in your VS IDE under TOOLS->Options.
    As you said that the VS hanging when it connected to VSO, one idea is that you could post an issue to the VSO forum:

    In addition, for the performance issue, we would think about many elements.
    For example, the machine configurations, run the VS for a long time(we often restart the VS), the temp files(clean them), or the add-ins or extension tools (you could disable them), the third party processes in your task manager which make the CPU is high
    or others.

    From looking at the build it looks like the web part is building correctly but the application isn't passing validation, I have no idea why since it is the default app, I've made Office Apps on previous machines without a problem.
    Any help would be much appreciated and also let me know if I can give more info!

    I’m trying to reproduce your issue but failed.
    Here is my steps:
    #1 Install Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2013
    #2 Install Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013
    #3 Create a new Apps for Office project and rebuild
    According your error message, the failed step is ValidatePackage, I suspect it is an environment issue, but I cannot identify the root cause basing on the information you post.
    Have you tried to re-install the Visual Studio and Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013 or test it on another machine with Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2013?

  • An Open Letter to VZW Regading the Fascinate Debacle

    To Whom It May Concern:
    My wife and I have been faithful,long term Verizon customers utilizing most services that Verizon provides: wireless,DSL,and land line.  We decided to go the smart-phone route last year in September and took advantage of the BOGO offer that was being pushed on the Samsung Fascinate.  We were exceedingly happy with this phone.  However, in February of 2011 my phone became inoperable and was replaced with a CLNR.  We both waited patiently for the Froyo update to be available;that occurred ,I believe in May, and that was when our problems with the phone started becoming more prevalent!  Sporadic missed calls and texts,random reboots,screen freezes, and failure to install downloaded apps to name just a few.  ED04 was supposed to fix these issues, but proved to be an accelerant to the aforementioned problems.
    I tend to follow the technical aspects of my electronic equipment faithfully on various forums (including VZW's).  I learned that we were not alone in these issues and contacted VZW customer service tech Kate on 07/21/11 in regards to my Fascinate problems.  We went through all the recommended troubleshooting on the phone and she concurred that I was eligible for a replacement (my choice of DINC2,X2,or Charge).  I opted for the Charge and she said I would have to go to a Corporate store and have them process the order as she could not. My wife subsequently contacted Tech support and was deemed eligible as well.  The ensuing few days were busy for my wife and I, so we went to our local Corporate store in Dedham,MA on 07/24/11.  We presented ourselves to the CSR and explained that we were already approved for the Charge as our replacements. We spent the next three hours in the store trying to obtain what we had been cleared for to no avail!!!  Needless to say I was very upset and chose to leave the store, stating that I would take this matter to the next level.  While driving home I was contacted by Christopher Stevens(sic), a supervisor from the Rochester,NY service center.  He was very polite and professional.  He said that the Charge was out stock at the moment,but that he would see to it that our request for the Charges were fulfilled!  We were content with that.  He went on to say that he would be off on Monday and Tuesday (also saying that a shipment of Charges was expected on Tuesday), but that he would work everything out Wednesday (0727/11) and have them to us by Friday.  I was told to also expect a call from him with tracking numbers for the phones once they had shipped.
    I waited patiently for his call, even left him a message.  I received a call at 2:48 PM Friday July 29 from Chris stating that they were in stock but that he couldn't order them on his end and that once again we needed to go to the corporate store.  We did this and yet again we were stonewalled!!!  Our tech was Orlando( very nice and professional),who went to the back area of the store to speak with the manager;he in turn spoke with Chris Stevens(sic) in regards to our phones.  Again we were offered everything but the Charge!!  The manager didn't even come out to speak with me!  Orlando informed me that Chris needed to speak with his assistant director(Amy) and that Chris would contact me today(07/30/11) regarding this matter.  We left the store at about 8:10PM.  I didn't hear from Chris this AM,so I left a message on his phone(585-xxx-69xx) at 1:04PM to see where my wife and I stood.  He called me back at 3:32PM,but I could not answer the call because my phone froze up on me,Twice!!  I finally got to speak with him at 3:43PM and the news was not what I was expecting!  We were left holding the bag on what should have been a smooth transaction; I fully expected to receive two new Charges for my wife and I.  Instead the only thing we got was an offer for two CLNR Fascinates or DINC2's and to try the ED05 update (which was done already AND does not fix our issues) if we didn't want the offered equipment.  This kind of service is abhorrent!!!  This morning my phone refused to even turn on.  I performed two soft resets, and finally got the phone on.  I'm truly disgusted by all this!!

    I'm very sorry to hear about your unplesant experience. 
    IMHO, you went to the "wrong" Verizon store....  did you try going to a different store?
    (assuming there's another one within driving distance)

  • Excel Services and Excel Web Access Web Part on O365 SharePoint...

    I am using O365 E3 w/SharePoint and I have successfully created Pivot Charts via PowerPivot to query oData feeds from a couple of SharePoint lists. I was not able to refresh the data on O365 until I performed
    this operation.
    I updated the data connections in the report to refresh when the report is opened (which runs when the page with a referenced chart is accessed), but now there is a "Query and Refresh Data" warning that appears when the page is loaded; poor UX.
    I have read that there is a way to turn off this warning in SharePoint on-prem, but that doesn't help me with this nagging dialog box. I tried to move the report to a BI site in the collection and changed the report to use data connection files in the Data
    Collection Library hoping for enough trust for this message to cease, but ... No joy.
    Is there anything That I can do to keep the refresh on page load and lose the warning on O365? Maybe there is a Javascsript workaround someone can help with (I'm not much of a JS Dev).

    According to your post, I have done a test in my SharePoint on-line and reappeared your issue.
    If the issue occurred at SharePoint on- premise, go to SharePoint Central Administration > Application Management > Service Applications > Manage service applications > Excel Services
    application > Trusted File Locations and click on the Address that contains the workbook. In the External Data section, under Warn on Refresh, uncheck Refresh warning enabled and click OK.

    Unfortunately, the feature to disable the ‘Data Refresh Warning’ is not available yet in SharePoint Online.
    Because the option needs the SharePoint Central Admin level permission that is not opened to the public in Office 365 now.
