Link to iTunes on iWeb

Is there a way/widget to install so I can add to my iwebsite a link to puchase a song directly from iTunes? It's my own recordings that are for sale on iTunes and i'd like people to be able to immediately go to iTunes and get the songs.

Go to your album in iTunes and do Right-click to *copy link*.
In iWeb create a hyperlink with what you just copied.
The skip the copy part, drag the album directly on the iWeb page.
You'll now have a link you can edit with a descriptive text.
Edit :
If you are a contentprovider then visit this page. It tells you all you need to know :

• Can you ping iTunes through iWeb?

Greetings Everyone,
I set up my iWeb podcast site and the iTunes Store is receiving all the information accept the program logo. I followed some of the suggestions in this forum including renaming and resizing the logo. I reduced the file size
to a very managable size fo 32 kb and the image size to 320 x 272. The original logo, which was much a bigger picture that was not resized, was accepted by iTunes without a problem. What else can I do in iWeb to make iTunes accept this logo? Can I ping iTunes through iWeb?
Here is my web address, http://web.mac.com/gregradio14.
The iTunes location is, http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=256973284.
I appreciate your assistance.
Thanks,
WUWFMan

I think that your problem still lies with iWeb. Your XML still lists:
http://web.mac.com/gregradio14/iWeb/Site/Blue%20Plate%20Special/Blue%20Plate%20S pecial_files/podcast-large.jpg
as the link to your iTunes image.
iTunes is just showing what it is told to show.

• What does one do when they get "secure link to itunes store has failed." got this while doing diagnostics test. clicked on help but just got a blank white window. original problem stems from inability to access the itunes store.

I got "secure link to itunes store failed" during a diagnostic test. unable to access itunes store and nothing i do works.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

• Error Publishing Podcast to ITunes using IWeb

I am getting the following error publishing my podcast to Itunes using Iweb.
We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code: 500
When I checked the rss.xml doc that iweb generates, it is very different from what itunes gives as an example. Do you guys plan on making your software match to the Itunes requirements so that it will post. I can edit and upload the xml file, but when iweb publishes again it will simply change it back to the wrong file.
Is there an update coming? What should I do?

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems that from GarageBand the only podcast option is to send it to iWeb. The option exists: "send song" to iTunes, but not "send podcast" directly to iTunes. I don't know if there's a meaningful difference between "song" and "podcast," but I've decided to wait.
I contacted Apple (apparently I haven't yet exhausted my free tech-support options since the purchase of this MacBookPro) and was told that the problem is most likely with iTunes. We'll see what the iTunes team has to say...
Further info I've learned: the audio podcast episode somehow got converted to a ".mov" file somewhere along it's path from being created in GarageBand to it's submission to iTunes. This is still a mystery to me as I specifically chose "MP3" when sending the episode from GarageBand to iWeb. Apple tech-support has passed me along the chain to the iTunes folks who only do tech support via email. So we'll see...

• Secure link to iTunes Store Failed, Can't restore iPhone.

Good day,
Am hoping to get some help please. We recently upgraded our desktop from Windows XP to Windows 7. Re-installed all the software as well as iTunes 10.
All has been working fine, up until yesterday. The playlist which we where syncing with the iPhone 3G, had been changed and we wanted to sync the changes to the phone.
When preforming the sync, it got to the point where it said "Finishing Sync" in iTunes, the phone said "Sync in Progress" and iTunes froze completely. (Not Responding) Left it for about 30mins, after which it still said the same. I rebooted the machine and the phone, and tried again with the same error. I then tried removing all music and videos from the phone. Same problem.
My last resort was to attempt a restore of the phone. It started the restore and eventually got to a point where iTunes came up with the error 2003, unable to restore iPhone, the phone was now stuck in restore mode with the iTunes Logo and USB plug on the main screen.
So off to the iStore to get it fixed. The phone was reformatted/restored there and was working fine but I did not have any contacts/messages or photos on the phone, so I attempted another restore, so I could get my info back. It came up with the same issue again. Error 2003.
I then started browsing around and found out the iTunes diagnostics, it fails every time on the "Secure link to iTunes", iTunes has been added to the Windows firewall, I have tried un-installing my AntiVirus software and trying it with again but same result. I have checked the ports are all open. I have tried to reset my hosts file. I have reset my internet explorer settings, but nothing is working.
Can anybody help me out with this please.

The results show that you have a proxy server set and this can often cause problems with iTunes.
The proxy setting can be accessed in Internet options>>Connections>>LAN Settings.
Try un-checking the proxy server check box.
It might also be a good idea to run a malware check if you didn't know you had the proxy server set.
You can download a free version of an excellent scanner- Malwarebytes here:

I have found a fix after doing additional research through this forum. Tech Note #328730 addresses this problem and it works for Photoshop Album 3.2 even though it was written for release 1.0.
Here is a link that will take you directly to the Tech Note:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=328730
When using this fix the Tech Note indicates:
"Imported image data and tags are lost when you re-create the My Catalog.psa file, so you need to reimport images and reapply any tags"
however it did retain the captions (at least it did for me).

• Secure link to iTunes store failed

I cannot get iTunes to create a "secure link to iTunes store". I'm at a complete loss on how to fix this. I'm running Windows XP, connected thru a network switch to HughesNet. I have the latest version of iTunes, I can sign into the iTunes store & download songs, but can't update my phone. . I tried to upgrade my 3GS to iOS 5 & iTunes said I wasn't connected. I click "update", it starts to backup my phone, then stops & says it can't connect. I did a manual backup of my phone, then hit "update" & it still didn't work.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Clock is set correctly, not using a proxy, lan settings correct (ssl 3.0 & tls 1.0 checked, server cert. revocation off), cleared dns, reset winsock, restarted network switch, restarted modem, uninstalled Norton products, turned off ZoneAlarm, uninstalled ZoneAlarm, turned off Windows firewall, verified that iTunes is on Windows Firewall exception list, opened port 80, opened port 443, created new blank "hosts" file, repaired iTunes, uninstalled iTunes, reinstalled iTunes.
Still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I just updated my iTunes to 10.5 and my iOS (iPod touch 4g) to 5.
Only the secure link to itunes store have failed, and I cannot connect to itunes store.

Oops, now iTunes can't open my iPhone because that is iOS5. Can't be bothered to restore that back to iOS4 so I am going back to iTunes 10.5 so I can at least manage my existing podcasts. I shall just use App Store and iTunes on my phone for Apps and wait until Apple provides a fix

• Secure link to iTunes Store failed: HELP!

I'm new to iTunes and purchased my first iPod yesterday night. The first time I plugged in my iPod to sync it, I wasn't able to. At first I had version 10 then it updated. On the previous version I was able to access the iTunes store but wasn't able to sync my iPod. I had downloaded the most recent version of iTunes (10.1) and then this problem occured.
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection timed out. Please make sure that the network settings are correct and that your netowrk is connected, then try again."
I've read several different manuals and emailed Apple about it. I've tried a lot of different things to fix it.
+-change firewall settings+
+-redownloaded iTunes+
+-contacted Apple Tech Support+
+-changed proxy settings+
+-changed permissions+
+-disabled firewall+
+-restarting iTunes+
+-restarting router+
And several others. Nothing seems to work. I ran a diagnostic review and this is what came up.

What do I do? Any information and suggestions would be very helpful.

i found a solution that worked in my case..i found it in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2284692?start=0&tstart=0 in texlark's post..i copied and pasted it here:
The Fix (& It's NOT Your Firewall)
A. Symptoms
When you try to connect to the iTunes Store you may receive the alert message "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (-9808). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
B. Resolution
Check your computer's date, time, and time zone. Set the correct date, time, and time zone if needed. If your computer's date, time, and time zone are all correct and you still see this alert message, this issue can be resolved by modifying certain settings in the Internet Options control panel:
1) Go to the Start menu and choose Control Panel.
2) Select Internet Options.
Note: If you are using Windows Vista you may need to select Classic View on the left before you can see Internet Options.
Note: If you are using WIndows 7 you may need to change "View by" to either Large icons or Small icons before you can see Internet Options.
3) Click the Advanced tab.
4) In the Settings box, scroll down to the Security section.
5) Deselect the option to "Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)."
6) Select the options for "SSL 3.0" and "TLS 1.0."
7) Apply the changes and restart your computer.

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)
