Link to OLD Versions of Shockwave Player

I, like many others, need Shockwave 10 in order to support
Windows 2000 installations. However, it's nowhere to be found on an
Adobe web site. However, according to a recent message to me in a
support case, maybe it will be one day soon:
Please refer to the page below to download older versions of
the
Shockwave player. This page will soon be updated so that
Shockwave 10
will be included in the list of previous versions for
download.
Stand-alone installers for Shockwave Player: previous
versions only

They did not offer any explanation as to why this has been so
long in coming or why this page is so bloody hard to find.

Hello jp acuna,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing/describing, or what the exact message displayed is. If it is asking for an Apple ID in order to activate the iPhone, you may have a phone that has been Activation Locked. If that is the case, you may find the information in the following article helpful:

For more information on what would need to be done by a seller prior to selling or giving away an iPhone (some of which you may be able to do), you may also find this article useful:

  • Old version of Shockwave Player keeps crashing - installing new version hangs

I had reproducible crashes of FlashPlayer (in all my browsers (IE, FF, Google Chrome and Safari) and on misc. web pages).
I then decided to install the latest version 11.5. Clicking on Install hangs the browser.
Is there a download version of the installer?
The reason I am asking this: I had exactly the same issue with flash player. The web-based installer would always hang, the downloadable installer finally worked. But, alas, Adobe is always hiding the downloadabe installers... :-(  )
    Michael

Adobe is always hiding the downloadabe installers
I'm confident that if you had searched this forum for a link, you'd have found it. Nevertheless, here is the full installer

  • A site downloads an old version of SW Player even though I have the newest version installed

Over the years I've played games at a site (Garfield Games).  The last few years, whenever I update to the new version of Shockwave Player, Garfield Games downloads an old version of SW Player (10.4 to be exact) citing compatibility issues when I try to play a game.  It doesn't matter if I use Chrome or IE9 to download the new version of SW player, or go to Garfield in either browser, as soon as I try to play a game I have to download the old version of SW Player.  I notice my newest version is located in User-AppData-LocalLow-Adobe.  The old version is located in C-Windows-System32-Macromed-Shockwave 10.  If I delete the SW 10 file and try to play a game at Garfield I have to download the old version again, or I can't play the games.  This only occurs if I download a new version of SW Player (as it deletes the older versions on my system)or if I manually delete the old version.
My system isn't that unusual,  Vista 32 sp2, Webroot anti virus, windows firewall, Secunia.
When the old version is downloaded, Secunia flags it as a security risk.  I delete the SW Int.exe file in SW 10 and Secunia no longer flags it as a security risk.  I also delete 7 other files in it, and it still works at Garfield.  I've contacted Garfield and they claim it's my system.  Garfield is the only site that I have encountered this problem.
I've tried googling this question, and there's nothing really comprable.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I know that some sites do that.  I don't know of any way to prevent that, except to avoid sites that do that.
If I really wanted to prevent that, I would try to set the permissions in the target folders
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Director
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Shockwave 10
    to prevent anything from installing.

  • Are old versions of Flash Player available?

Are old versions of flash player available?

You can get FP 9 by specifying an older OS version at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Older FP versions can be downloaded from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

  • Hosting old versions of Flash Player

Is there any official word about hosting old versions of flash player?  I have a large number of .swf files that were created using Articulate Presenter 5.4 which converted them from powerpoint files.  Under the latest version of Flash player they don't play.  When using the beta version up on labs most work, but a few with box/circle in animations don't.  The only solution that doesn't break any .swf files is downgrading to 10.0.42.34.  This is totally an Articulate issue and I am talking with them about a fix; I just thought it prudent to provide some background to my question.  I am aware of http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html but it is a little ridiculous to ask them to download 157 MB to get the 1.83/1.86 MB file they need.  I'd like to host the older version so that people having a problem can choose to download it, but I am not sure as to Adobe's stance on this issue, so if anyone out there can fill me in/point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

    Hi John,
    This should do it:

  • The FlashPlayer distribution download page still links to old version 14.0.0.176 MSI files

The download links for Flash Player ver 15.0.0.152 still link to the old version 14 MSI files. Please fix. I'm not sure how else to report this issue.

Looks like the files are there, so some simple changing of the copied URLs did the trick for me (change 14 to 15):
    download.macromedia.com/...install_flash_player_15_plugin.msi
    download.macromedia.com/...install_flash_player_15_active_x.msi

  • Every time I click on a link, an OLD version of Firefox keeps opening, I don't know how to eliminate the old version (I don't see it in the applications folder). This hasn't happened with any other upgrades to Firefox. Can you help?

This happens when I get an email with a link attached. Also, every single time I open up the NEW version, it defaults to the "welcome to Firefox 4" page. Is there a way to make it stop doing that too? Did I just download the new version too soon, before the bugs were worked out?

Version 3.6.16 is opening....as it did when I clicked the link in your email message to me about this situation. The upgraded version (Firefox4) sits in my dock and the old version opens when I click on a link.

  • How to get and install old (version 8) Flash player ActiveX in IE?

I would like to install old Flash Active X controls into IE
in order to test if our software detects the version
    properly.
If I download and install the old players available at
    www.adobe.com
these do not seem to install the activeX: there are no
    Flash*.ocx files
or registry entries as indicated in
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=b0dba60b&sliceId=2
I have searched the knowledgebase/forums and posted in the

but did not find/get an answer...

  • How to uninstall old versions of Flash player?

I have the latest version of the Flash Player (9.0.28.0)
    installed.
However when I run Secunia's software inspector (
    http://secunia.com/software_inspector/?task=load)
it finds an old version of the Flash 7.0.19.0 and flags it as
    'Insecure'.
    This is in two places:
    C:/WINDOWS/system32/Macromed/Flash/Flash.ocx
    and
    C:/I386/Flash.ocx
How can I uninstall the old version - I do not see Flash
Player in Add/Remove of Windows (Win XP SP2)?
    thanks

It's quite handy, actually, and I suspect relatively new. It
checks your machine for outdated/unsafe applications:
    http://secunia.com/software_inspector
And of course it's totally free.
How can I verify what version(s) of Flash that I might have
loaded? There's no Program Files entry or anything in Add/Remove,
etc. OTOH, the Secunia site shows where at least part of the
product(s) are loaded, yet it's not totally clear to me if those
locations are in use by the current version.

  • For security reason, do we have to uninstall old version of Flash Player ?

    Hello,
I actually want to deploy the last version of Flash Player (plugin and activex) on my computer network.
After installing the latest version (v10.1), I have seen that my old .ocx files where deleted automatically from the folder "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash" but one file remains Flash10e.ocx (and I have the latest version too Flash10h.ocx).
In my logfile, I have this :
    Delete ....
    Delete: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil10.exe"
    Delete: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil10a.exe"
    End Call Uninstallers
    File: overwriteflag=4, allowskipfilesflag=2, name="Flash10e.ocx"
    File: wrote 3981080 to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10e.ocx"
IfFileExists: file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10e.ocx" exists, jumping 352
    File: overwriteflag=4, allowskipfilesflag=2, name="FlashUtil10e.exe"
    File: wrote 256280 to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil10e.exe"
    End Main Section
Is is normal that I am still having the Flash10e.ocx ? Was it because my browser was opened during the silent installation of Flash ?
    Thanks !

    Hi,
    thanks for your answer.
It's quite difficult to deploy the new version of Flash or 5000 computers with this method .
It's quite difficult to force users to close their browser each time I would like to update an Adobe product (moreover, not every users are online during the deployment etc...).
I have updated my Adobe Flash while IE was opened and it seems to work (except the fact that I have one another .ocx file that I dont want).
    Thanks

  • What Flash Version in Shockwave Player 9?

    Hi,
need to know what version of Flash is supported by the
Shockwave Player 9. I only know that Schockwave Player 10 supports
    Flash 8.
Does anybody has reliable information or can tell me where I
    can find them?

if they don't have that version they should be prompted to update their flash player.  are they?
if yes, and you want to aim for an earlier fp, use the earliest version in which your site functions correctly.

  • I need help understanding the issues on why i can not download the latest version of shockwave player. this affecting all of my game play on any game i attemt to run.

  • Security Update 2008-008 installs old version of Shockwave plugin

It appears that the recent Security Update 2008-008 for 10.4.x does not properly check to see if a newer version of Shockwave plugin is installed.
We have Shockwave 11.0.3r470 installed, but the Security Update 2008-008 has installed version 10.1.1.r116
This results in two version of Shockwave being installed on the system.

Hi , and a warm welcome to the forums!
Thanks BD Aqua, Hello to all.
What locations are those two please?
    The Shockwave Plugin is at:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/DirectorShockwave.plugin (for Shockwave 11.x)
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave (for Shockwave 10.x and earlier)
Support files for Shockwave 11 are at:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Shockwave 11
while support files for Shockwave 10 are located:
    /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Shockwave 10
The issue here is that the SecurityUpdate 2008-008 will install Shockwave 10 even if Shockwave 11 is already present. This results in having two different version installed simultaneously.
Safari even reports both in the "Installed Plug-ins" report.
My guess would be that it is not good to have both installed at the same time!

  • How to install old version of Flash Player ActiveX

    Hello,
I have to install Flash Player ActiveX 10.1.x or 10.3.x because it is required by my application. 11.x version I tried made issues.
I downloaded various 10.x versions : they all told me that this version is not the newest => I can only quit the installation.
How can I avoid that message ?
What does Adobe care which version I want to install because I have to ?????
Thank you for your help !

Please run the appropriate uninstaller linked below.  That should allow you to run older installers without receiving that error.
    Windows 32-bit: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash _player_32bit.exe
    Windows 64-bit: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash _player_64bit.exe
