Link to published calendar opens on June 2006..??

I have my calendar published, and I have a link to it from my site. I click the link and the calendar opens beautifully... however, by default, instead of set on TODAY, it is always set on June 2006 when it opens. Anyone know how to fix this? I didn't see anything in the preferences.
Thanks!!

Amanda,
Is your calendar published on .Mac?
If so, you may want to use the iCal>Calendar>Refresh command.
Another possibility is to use the iCal>Calendar>Unpublish... command followed by the ICal>Calendar>Publish...command.
My published calendar has this format: http://ical.mac.com/WebObjects/iCal.woa/wa/default?u=myusername&n=Publish.ics
What do you have posted for yours?
Is this something that happens only when you view the site or do users of you link observe the same behavior?

Why don't URLs show up on the published version of my calendar? What am I missing??
    Thanks

I feel that I must be missing something here, but WHAT is the point of i-cal?? I am testing the on-line version, which has a box for a url, but no hyperlink. Is there a way of inserting a hyperlink?

  • Question about publishing Calendar and URLs

Hi everyone, have a question that hopefully knows the answer too. I have been researching on how to publish individual user calendars to external users.
I have seem to come across 2 different ways to do this
    1) is to right-click on my calendar in OWA, then I select the external recipient and it emails the recipient a long url similar to:
    http://webmail.mydomain.com/owa/calendar/[email protected]/4d9f8b52769b4ddca3e51f6f82d01b6f1902995877095312719/S-1-8-2306188436-3125773453-2945785077-3615357645/reachcalendar.html
    2) Within Outlook 2013, I click on "publish calendar" and it takes me to an ECP url for my exchange server where I can select how many months I want to share, the permission they can see, etc... and then it provides me at the bottom with two links
    like:
    http://webmail.mydomain.com/owa/calendar/[email protected]/Calendar/calendar.html
My question is what are the differences between these two methods and also, both of these urls will NOT work unless I change them to HTTPS instead, how I can modify the links that get emailed out? I did see for the 2nd method above I can set it using the
"PublishedCalendarUrl" in Powershell, but that is impractical for a lot of users.
    thanks!

    Hi BMIG,
    Please re-start IIS for testing.
If not working unfortunately, please use IIS Manager to simplify the OWA url and force redirection to SSL.
    Steps as below:
    1. Start IIS Manager.
    2. Expand the local computer, expand Sites, and then click
    Default Web Site.
    3. At the bottom of the Default Web Site Home pane, click Features View if this option isn't already selected.
    4. In the IIS section, double-click HTTP Redirect.
    5. Select the Redirect requests to this destination check box.
    6. Type the absolute path of the /owa virtual directory. For example, type
    https://mail.contoso.com/owa.
    7. Under Redirect Behavior, select the Only redirect requests to content in this directory (not subdirectories) check box.
    8. In the Status code list, click Found (302).
    9. In the Actions pane, click Apply.
    10. Click Default Web Site.
    11. In the Default Web Site Home pane, double-click SSL Settings.
    12. In SSL Settings, clear Require SSL.
    13. For the new settings to take effect, open a Command Prompt window, and then type
    iisreset /noforce to restart IIS.

  • Missing "dtend" entries on .ics files for a published calendar

From the top... I am using iCal Version 2.0.5 (1069), Mac OS X 10.4.10, and The Missing Sync for Palm OS v6.0.1; also the MarkSpace Events and Tasks conduits to sync my Palm with iCal via iSync.
My goal is to publish a grouped calendar to icalx.com (which I've used for years).
When I publish the calendar, everything appears to transfer fine, and I can see the published calendars on icalx.com.
HOWEVER, most events in the graphical views (such as day or week) appear to have lost their end times, and thus stretch to 11:59 PM that day (which would be the default).
I have examined the .ics file that icalx.com is receiving from my local iCal app, and it appears that on many of the events there is no entry for DTEND (the date and time when an event ends). There is an entry for DTSTART. I experimented with changing the end time for an event in iCal, and then refreshing the published calendar. The result is that DTEND is now defined, and the event shows up properly. Simply entering the same event ending time in the end time field does not result in a proper ending time on the icalx.com calendar. Changing the end time in iCal by dragging the lower boundary of the event box DOES modify the time properly on the icalx.com calendar.
What is perplexing is that the proper start and end times ARE shown in iCal, and on my Palm.
Has this kind of behavior been seen by others? Any hints on how to correct it, or where to start?
    Thanks everyone for your help.

OK, previously I went to the online version and clicked on the "Download" link in the left column, but I did not know if I re-published from the downloaded calender, would it replace/over-write the existing calendar or create a new.1.ics file.
I think I had tried this before, and the version I was updating, did not seem to update the version others had subscribed to, even though, I thought, I had re-published the same calendar.
Anyway, I have tested the "new" re-published calendars and they seem to be updating for the subscribers too.
Is there a way to make sure that I don't have any orphaned calendars? Some of the calendars have changed names and I was wondering if I am able to what is exactly sitting on my ME account. I can't find any of the calendars when I log into the account.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Gary

  • Location and Notes not showing up in Published Calendar

When viewing my published calendar on its Web link, I cannot see the location and notes information. I see everything else. I made sure to check all options when I published. Does anyone else have this problem? I am publishing with my new MobileMe account (trial).
I will let you know if I hear back from Apple support on this. I have not seen this problem posted and right now cannot search the forums, so I apologize if this is a repost.

    Hi Zargon,
So, you have four separate calendars published?
No... I actually only have ONE calendar published.
Make one group (iCal > File menu > New Calendar
Group), then move your four calendars into it, you
can then select the Group in your calendar list and
then publish it. The events of the calendars should
all then appear in a single published calendar.
Yes, the Birthdays calendar does take its data from
    Address Book.
    John M
And thank you for the insight on publishing all the data as a "GROUP".
That did indeed solve my issue!!!
    Thanks.

  • Will Solaris 10 (Jun/2006) zfs edition consider DiskSuite

    Hi..
I previously upgraded a Sol8 server to Sol10 (Jan/06 without zfs), but it could not perform a upgrade as the disk array had to be unplugged (which was a metastat configuration). So I had to perform a fresh install, and reconfigure DiskSuite which picked up the data and databases correctly for use after the install. This was all with help from a SUN Support case. Anyways..does anyone know if the zfs version of the O/S is smarter and knows how to deal with metastat during an upgrade? I have a production box that is still on Sol 8, with a complex metastat configuration that I will have to upgrade one day soon. But the test box that I took from Sol 8 to Sol 10 (Jun/2006) O/S was difficult as that version of the upgrade could not deal with the DiskSuite configured 3310 disk array.
Please email me at [email protected] if anyone has an update or suggestions
    Thanks for reading...Cheers...Roger

We had c1 for the O/S disks and c3 & c4 for the 3310 array. Why it was looking for c2 was never determined???
The Sun support mob under that CASE ID suggested after many attempts to perform an upgrade...
    =================>
    In this situation, I recommend:
    1. Remove Disk Array from Server i.e detach the connecting cable
    2. Please check if Internal Disks are visible at OK prompt.:
    ok probe-scsi-all
    ==================<
So I unplugged the array, but because there was no spare disk, I had to end up performing a fresh install, then attach and reconfigure the array exactly as before then the data, and more importantly, the Oracle databases and applications where recovered and useable.
So the question now is ... the server is on sol 10 and I have now rec'd the sol 10 Jun 2006 media...is it possible to perform an upgrade and how will zfs deal with the disksuite defs, because it have real problems under Sol 10 Jan 2006 edition.
Also, with the SUN engineers, on that CASE ID...we never got to the bottom of the problem with upgrading from sol 8 to 10 with disksuite implemented.
    Cheers...Roger

  • Why can't I share my iCal diary anymore with my work colleagues? I used to be able to send a link so the calendar could be viewed in any browser be it PC or Mac platform??

Why can't I share my iCal diary anymore with my work colleagues? I used to be able to send a link so the calendar could be viewed in any browser be it PC or Mac platform??

Ordinary webspace won't do - what you get is a text file: this is the problem - MobileMe took the file published by iCal and formatted it as a calendar. Presumably if you were running your own server as indicated in the help page it would do the same; but unless 1&1 can speficially provide you with a CalDAV server it's not going to work.
Do your colleagues have Macs? For those who do, they can subscribed to a shared calendar in iCal and it couldn't be simpler. Presumably Windows owners could do the same thing in a suitable calendar program; and this is a lot simpler solution.
Another route: according to this site:
    http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/publish-ical-calendars-mobileme-os-server-mac/
box.net can do this for you. I seem to remember that this arose a while back, but I have a feeling that the poster then couldn't get it to work. I can't advise on that, but you might want to investigate it as an option.

  • How to make published calendar show month view by default?

I have a published calendar that I put into an iframe on a website. Unfortunately, it comes up in week view by default. I know that if you click on month view, it gives you a new URL that you could copy and use, but that URL is specific to a month and so when we get to April, for instance, the default calendar view would be month, but would still display March's calendar. Is there something else I can put in the URL to make the default view to the actual, current month?

  • No To Dos on published calendar in browser

    Hi everybody,
I want to my publish my to do list with so my supervisor can see what I have planned for the week. She doesn't have a Mac so a wanted to send her the weblink for the published calendar. Problem is: the to dos do not show up when looking at the calendar with a browser (I tried Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4 on Mac, as well as IE on PC). I made sure that I've clicked the little check box to "show to do list" in my calendar pre-publish window.
So do to dos never show up in the browser version, or am I just overlooking the link? Or is something wrong with my iCal?
    Thanks for your help,
    Stephan

I believe the iphone has a notes feature. Don't forget the touch is an ipod, not a PDA. Hopefully after the SDK is released in Feb we will see more apps like a ToDos, email, ect.
You can always let Apple know what you'd like to see.

  • My macbook was bought in June 2006 and I have snow leopard but don't think I can upgrade any further.  Am I right in assuming that I also can't register my macbook for icloud as it is too old?

Am I correct in assuming I can't upgrade a macbook bought in June 2006 to Mountain Lion?  And if this is the case does it mean my macbook is too old to register for icloud?  I have my iphone backed up to icloud but am having trouble then plugging it into my macbook and syncing the calendars.  I need to keep my phone syncing with icloud so that my husband can access my calendar on his iphone but would like it to also sync with the calendar on my macbook.  Make sense?  Sorry if it seems confusing.  Imagine me..lol

Correct. You would need to install 10.7.2 or later to use iCloud. See the following:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Is Carbon Copy Cloner working 100% as at June 2006?

What's the state of play of CCC Synchronize as of June 2006?
Last I read the Synchronize feature which involves something called psync/rsync/whateversync was not working under Tiger, and I think I have been blithely relying CCC as if it is working 100%.
I have been doing 2 things each night:
    1) Making a bootable clone of my Powerbook to an external firewire drive, using CCC Synchronize so it just updates the changed stuff. Problem: lately it's been stopping saying some file called hotfiles/btree is locked or could not be copied - ignore or quit. I only found explanations too confusing or technically advanced for me to understand, so have been saying 'skip'. Plus maybe the synchronizing is not working?
    2) Copy data from a 100 gb external USB drive (where I am doing a project) to an identical one as backup, using synchronize. But maybe the synchronizing is not working?
The concern is that maybe some important hidden other other files are not being correctly copied/sync'd.
Can anyone enlighten me on this? If it's true, can I achieve the above using Silverkeeper?
    Thanking you,
    Lynette

    Dear guys/gals,
    Thank you all your suggestions.
Yes, I was acutely aware that I should first do my homework and comb the Bombich forums (and other forums) before bleating my troubles here, and I did so, but I've found a lot of postings in forums are by way more technically savvy people like yourselves. As a 'power user' but a total 'non-tecchie' (despite an ancient computer science degree - blush) I stare at the answers, there's always good info scattered among them, but often nothing as cut and dried as a total technical novice user would like :o(
E.g. there is a lot of technical posturing about the hotfiles.btree file on the web, but I still do not get a clear picture on how to handle it. All I needed to know is:
    a) Why is it getting the problem - is it because it uses this thing called psync/rsync that is still 'broken' - the ccc doco has not been updated for a while? IF too hard to explain then tell me to forget it.
    b) Can I exclude it from the cc backup list and rest easy?
    c) OR can I kill it somehow each day with no hassle? In fact, how do I clear all this and other logs that this little SMARTReporter utility has brought to my attention after combing the SuperDuper forums?
    d) OR forget it - switch to another program? You have suggested this.
I'll go and read the link that one of you posted and try not to drown.
QUESTION: Am I even using Synchronize correctly? I read somewhere it copies what is on the source to the destination, and then copies what is on the destination to the source. Well, in reality, I only want it ot go one way - make a bootable clone, then thereafter, have it update just what is changed ,on the destination. It should work the same, but I dunno, you never know what strange permissions etc might pop up on the destination that you don't want to overwrite on the source. The LaCie program alerted me to that.
QUESTION: Do you need to set the energy saver to 'never sleep, never die' before you go off to bed leaving whatever backup program you choose running? Or does any backup program keep the machine alive til done?
    Some random BTWs:
    - Someone also said that Spotlight's indexing of the external drive somehow has something to do with the demise of CCC as a cloning method. I read that you should go into System Prefs>Spotlight>Privacy and exclude the external FW drive from its clutches. Will that solve the problem? I suspect not, otherwise you I am sure you would have said so!
    - I tried to make a bootable clone using the somewhat obscurely documented LaCie SilverKeeper 1.1.4, after reading posts from people who say it works great (even after the developer a while ago said it did not). On rebooting I just got a blank blue screen. On retrying it invoked the 'please register OSX' screen. So I assume it does not work.
    - in the Super Duper blog/forum it says somewhere you must to use a FireWire external drive to make a bootable clone with their software. Whew! Lucky I didn't go buy that 120 Gb USB Western Digital Pocket Drive (I want to ideally have 2 'generations' of clone - current, and yesterdays). Someone should sell a mini-'raid' - a tiny pocket drive with two separate drives sandwiched together to fit in my purse.
I am going to study your answers again. Then shall do due diligence and go ask that Super Duper guy if his program relies on the same contingencies as CCC, i.e. if I can use it with confidence.
Thanking you again for your Xtreme patience and excuse me for shooting the breeze here ... I guess I am imagining standing on the other side of the Genius Bar I saw in the Chicago Mac Store, and this is what I'd be asking ... :o)
    Lynette
PS I am amazed how many road warriors like myself do not maintain a bootable clone. In Peru, my internal HD crashed, and it was only becuase I had the clone I was able to get it up and running on another Mac and resume work as if nothing happened until my machine was fixed. To me it's a no-brainer. Now if only there was a Mac emulator on the clone so I could download it onto someone's PC, plug in my external drive and continue as usual on a PC, that would be even better. You're gonna tell me it exists, right?

  • IPad calendar connection to published calendar.

I have a published calendar and I want my salesmen to be able to see this by using their iPad calendars. Is there a way for my sales team to get real time changes reflected on their iCal application or do they have to go through the Safari browser.

While waiting, I found the fix in another thread:
Open iSync on main computer with iPad attached and turned on.
    Choose "Reset sync history".
That is all there is to it.  The "Sync" still did not recognize two events scheduled for the same time, one in one sub-calendar on the iPad, and in another one on the Mac Mini.  I wound up with two choir practices, one in blue and one in pink on both devices.  Should it have noticed these and asked me about them?
I also read elsewhere that it messes up the iPad to change an event from one calendar sub-heading to another.  I will avoid doing that in the future.

  • Publish calendars  privately to dotmac

If you wish to publish your calendars so others you select can subscribe, but you not want them to be public, you can do so using dotmac. (If you simply choose to publish your calendars normally to dotmac, they are not private.) First, create a new folder on your iDisk in the "Sites" folder (e.g., "calendars" - without the quotes). Then, when you publish your calendar from iCal, choose "Publish on: a private server." In the "Base URL" box type http://idisk.mac.com/yourid/Sites/foldername (replace "your_id" with your dotmac id and "folder_name" with the name of your new folder). Enter your dotmac login and password. Your calendar will be published to your Sites/new_folder. Now you can click on your published calendar and choose "Send Publish Email" from the "Calendar" menu in the menu bar at the top of your iCal screen. The person who receives your email should be able to subscribe to your calendar, but it will not be public on dotmac. Using this method no URL will be sent with the email to view the calendar on the web.

Good idea... but what I regret is that I cannot open this published iCal calendar using dotmac when I am on another location.

  • Publish calendar on iCloud

Before iCloud I had a calendar that i shared on ical-mac.com (about the same as icalx) with other people.
That was very simpel. I selected that calendar in iCal and then choose for publish. Then I choose "own server" and filled in the wright data.
Any change I made in that calendar showed up in the published calendar. That was ideal!!
But now all my calendars are on iCloud and there is no possibilty to publish them!!
Does anyone knows a way to copy and synchronise a calendar to a locale calendar. Because when it is locale then you can publish the calendar.
    Thanks for your help!!

I'm afraid that (assuming the behaviour is the same as MobileMe) you only have the two choices:
    1. 'On My Mac', which can be published to a web page, but cannot be synced to the server and thus to other devices.
    2. Under your login name, where you can sync but not publish to a web page. You can share privately to people who have an iCloud subscription, or publicly to anyone who has a CalDAV reader - these include iCal itself and Google Calendar; so it's a bit more of a bother for people to see it but it can be done.
This is the method for public sharing in MobileMe (probably iCloud is the same but I don't know)"
    1. Control-click on the calendar and select 'Share'. In the pane which opens select 'Everyone'.
    2. Control-click the calendar and select 'Get info' - you will see the URL. Copy it.
    3. In your Google calendar, in the sidebar under 'Other calendars' click 'Add' and choose 'Add by URL'.
Paste the URL of your calendar in.
I did this and it worked, so far: however I added an event and this has not appeared when refreshing the calendar - it ought to. Google's Help says there is an issue with iCal subscriptions not updating, which is really helpful.
Mac users can subscribe in iCal: simply choose 'Subscribe' from the Calendar menu and paste the URL in. They can rename the calendar and should be sure to set updating to a suitable freqency as the default is 'Off'.

  • ICal won't publish calendar to mobileMe... ideas?

I've used iCal for years but since the changeover to me.com I can't get my iCal calendars to publish. When I click on "Publish calendar" it says it's published successfully, but when I click on the visit page button I get "page not found" error message.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    MJM

    bnance,
...are you saying your published calendar can currently be accessed from your ical.me.com link and that just ours is not working or was your answer a theoretical one?
Mine works as advertised. I did have to unpublish, but that was in July. The calendar has auto published without problems since that time.
The common clue that I notice between the OP and your system is that neither has been updated to the most current version of OS X available for the Tiger/Leopard. I would therefore advise updating these systems using the appropriate Combo Update (OS X 10.4.11/OS X 10.5.5).
    Good Luck.
    ;~)
