Link to router problem
I have an iPhone 4S and can't link to my ADSL router. It has worked before. When I enter the WEP number / password it won't link. Can anyone help?
Settings, general, reset, reset network settings. You wont lose anything doing this. If that doesnt work try restarting your phone, hold the home ad off button down until the apple symbol comes up.

BT Softphone and D-Link 2740B router problem
Has anyone managed to work out how to set up a D-Link 2740B router so that BT Softphone will work?
The best help I can get from BT INDIA is change the baud to 5060, what ever that means?
I am not a techie, so any help in a simple step by step fashion would be most welcome.
Solved!
Go to Solution.no thats no what i thinking about... i dont want to connect any devices as handsets ect to my laptop, laptop must be free as is now if this router have VOIP in the lastest firmware i think i can connect router to my bt broadband line then standard handset to the router and thats it. From the router level set the voip softphone internet telephony connection for this handset and thats it.... then if I will need another standard landline handset then simply connect it straight to the bt line... thats my vision....no devices connected to my computer its not working that way
If you already have bt home hub its working away from your computer so only one reason to change router is to do it in the same way as BT.... as BT have rubbish routers and with more than one laptop in the home network just cut the connecton this making me mad..... -
Windows Server 2012 R2 Routing problem
Hello everybody
I have the following problem:
Server with two NICS, one (IP 172.30.8.X) it's configure with a default gateway (172.30.8.1), the other one (IP 172.30.32.X) doesn't have a default gateway and has a static route to reach another network (172.15.28.X)
Everything was worning fine, no reboots, no updates installed; suddenly the specified route for the second NIC is not working. When we try to reach the 172.15.28.X network, it goes thorugh the default gateway. Please your help.
We tried deleting the route and re-add it again, but doesn't work; also verified the TCP/IP configuration on all NICs everything it's ok.
Here's an output of the configured routes on the server:
C:\Windows\system32>route print

Sorry for the delay, we opened a PSS case.
So far, the problems seems to be a misconfiguration on one of the devices.
This is the last output, as soon as we identify the issue and the problem, I'll let you know:

Solaris 8 says: "Link down, Cable Problem?"
I have these on my home LAN:
1. Sun Ultra 5 Solaris 8
2. Win 2000 PC
3. Win NT laptop
They are all hooked into a LinkSys Router.
The Router is hooked into my Motorala Cable Modem.
Here's the problem:
The PC and the laptop can see each other on the LAN.
The Solaris 8 is only visible on the Lan INTERMITTENTLY.
The lights on the Router for the PC and laptop are always ON.
When I reboot the Solaris box, the lights on the Router sometimes come ON, and sometimes they stay OFF. When they stay OFF, I see the message: "Link down, Cable Problem?" during reboot.
I have tried different cables, and tried various combinations of the 4 avalable ports on the back of my Router.
If I plug in the Sun box DIRECTLY into my cable modem, then I don't see the above message. (but then I don't have a LAN anymore)
Please help, I've been struggling with this for a while now.
Thanks,
Irshad Ahmed (I am relatively new to Sun)Hi
You have not indicated if you have the router ethernet ports working
at 100Mbps or 10Mbps. Depending on this sometimes, Sun systems may
not be correctly auto-negotiating their ethernet port settings.
You may set these parameters to force Sun Ultra 5 to a 100Mbps mode or a 10Mbps mode.
For forcing it to 100Mbps, Full Duplex mode and disabling the auto-negotiation, put these entries in /etc/system:
set hme:hme_adv_autoneg_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_100T4_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_100fdx_cap=1
set hme:hme_adv_100hdx_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_10fdx_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_10hdx_cap=0
Conversely, if you want to force your Sun to work on 10Mbps, Full
duplex mode, (if your router does not support 100Mbps) in the same
/etc/system file, put the following entries :
set hme:hme_adv_autoneg_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_100T4_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_100fdx_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_100hdx_cap=0
set hme:hme_adv_10fdx_cap=1
set hme:hme_adv_10hdx_cap=0
One of these should solve your problem. You need to reboot the system
after putting these entries.
You can also check the port at the OK prompt using the command
"watch-net". This test the onboard ethernet interface.
You may also apply the hme patch released by Sun that fixes many
known problems with hme ethernet driver. The patch id is 108981-03.

When reading web pages...many lines are unclear, not sharp...they are appearing washed out. We just replaced our older Century Link modem/router with their newer version [PK5001A]. When I run the cursor over the bad looking type...it usually sharpens up, though the effect created is very woozy feeling to your eyes. Why is this flaky looking type occurring and what can we do about it?
Is the problem with some web sites? Most? All?

i've checked the cable and it's good (it work with a normal pc)
the led on the switch is on (it's green)
maybe i need some patch
how can i do?gio,
You didn't necesarily do anything wrong.
You do not necessarily have any broken equipment.
There may just be somthing that is incomplete in the setup.
Begin by checking if your network settings were set up correctly by running:
<b># ifconfig -a</b>
(it's usually best to troubleshoot while you are root user)
If the output from the <i>ifconfig</i> command seem to be complete, you could always think about reconfiguring the NIC all over again.
If you are not sure, then just paste the entire output results back here.
Also, use the forum search function, using keyword <u>sys-unconfig</u>.
Next, read the Solaris man pages for sys-unconfig.
That command will force you to repeat the setup of the connection. -
Wireless connection between D-Link WiFi router and Time capsule stopped working
We have an ISP provided D-Link wireless router (DIR-615) to which we wirelessly connected our 2Tb Time Capsule for back up and to connect a USB printer to out network. This worked perfectly for 3 1/2 years, until about a month ago, when the time capsule suddenly decided to go "off line". ie we could no longer access it or the printer via our wireless network. We had changed nothing - just one day it stopped working.
We tried to get it back online with no success. As the 2Tb Time Capsule was almost 7 years old and had had some HDD issues in the passed, we figured it had got old and died and that it was time to replace it; so we bought a new 3Tb Time Capsule, thinking this would get everything back to normal.
However much as we tried, we were also unable to get the new 3Tb Time Capsule to connect wirelessly to the D-Link wireless router. The Airport Utility did not show the D-Link wireless router or its wireless network, although we were (and are) able to see it in Systems Preferences>Networks from all our multiple devises. This in itself seemed odd. No matter what we tried, the Airport Utility would not find the D-Link wireless router and hence we could not add the 3Tb Time Capsule to the existing wireless network.
At the end of the day we got fed up with trying to add the 3Tb Time Capsule to the D-Link wireless network, and connected it via a LAN cable to the D-Link router instead. We then set it up as its own network. Worked gerat. Having done that we thought maybe the old 2Tb Time Capsule might not have been the problem after all, so we tried extending our new 3Tb Time Capsule wireless network using the 2Tb Time Capsule wirelessly. This worked perfectly! And we are now almost back to what we wanted.
So although we have a work around, this means now have 2 separate wireless networks as opposed to the original single wireless network where everything talked to everything else.
Can anyone shed any light on any of the following:-
1. Why the original wireless network connection between the D-Link router and the 2Tb Time Capsule just stopped working? Was there some software change from Apple that "decided" D-Link wireless routers were no longer secure; and therefore the TCs could no longer connect to them?
2. Why it was not possible to extend the existing D-Link wireless network using the the new 3Tb Time Capsule?
3. Is there is anyway that we can get back to a single wireless network based around the D-Link wireless router as the primary router connecting to the modem, where the 2 Time Capsules connect as "wireless satellite base stations"?1. A firmware update to the TC came along and you agreed to it without perhaps even noticing.. it then smashed your setup because Apple do not recommend the setup you were using and it is very poor.
2. Why it was not possible to extend the existing D-Link wireless network using the the new 3Tb Time Capsule?
Because it is such a poor setup that Apple have taken away your ability to choose it unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Yes, this I can help you with.
I have several ways around the problem.. but the first one is.. why use the DIR-615 at all.. it is not a modem.. it is a very ordinary bottom end, poor single band slow wireless router.
Why don't you simply remove the DIR-615 from the network completely.. plug whatever it is the ISP supplies you.. an ethernet connection from whatever that modem is you mentioned into the WAN port of the Time Capsule. And use the TC in some router mode.. same as the DIR-615 was setup.. dhcp or pppoe or whatever.. I doubt the TC cannot match it.
If you have issues please post a few screenshots from the DIR-615 to show how it is setup from the WAN side.. and as long as you are given the username and password or whatever the ISP uses to authenticate then chuck out the DIR-615.
Tell me if that is a goer.. if not we can work out a few other methods..
eg. Simply turn off the wireless in the DIR-615. It is poor cf the TC and there is no need for it.. with the TC in bridge only use the TC for wireless as well as wireless extend with your old TC.
Or setup roaming network where everything uses the same SSID.
Then you will have one wireless network. And it won't matter what as long as it connects.. although IMHO this is not right as the TC is such a superior router now you are wasting your new TC. -

WRE54G Rev 1 -- D-Link 524 Router
Hi,
I have a Wireless D-Link 524 Router (newest firmware) and I am trying to expand the range of my network using a LinkSys WRE54G Rev. 1 expander.
First off will the WRE54G work with a D-Link router? On the box it says will work with "most" wireless routers. But then on a page in the documentation it lists only 3 Linksys routers.
When setting up the D-Link router with DHCP. It allows you only to use the IP Range of 192.168.0.xxx the default setting for the WRE54G is 192.168.1.240. I changed it to 192.168.0.240. Same channel. There is also no security setup on either devices. But still no luck.
Has anyone else had any luck using the WRE54G with a non Linksys product?
If you need anymore info let me know.
ThanksAs you mentioned ..... you changed the Ip settings on Range Extender from 192.168.1.240 to 192.168.0.240 ... subnet - 255.255.255.0 ...& gateway address 192.168.0.1....
Check the light status ...
Also check the wireless settings are same as in the router .....
Try to ping the address of the Range extender .... see if it works .... -

TV Guide fails - router problem?
When the guide failed on our main TV is the family room, I tried trouble-shooting it -- no luck. Then I "chatted" online with Verizon's "Raul" for two hours, trying everything he asked, including swapping the box with the one in the bedroom -- Raul thought it was the biox and gave me an 800 number to call to get a swap in boxes. However, before the weekend is over, all but one TV has the same problem. Right now, we get the guide on one TV and no guide on four TVs.
I've worked on this all day so far today. Verizon's In-Home Agent reports that none of the TVs have connectivity with the router. So I've concentrated on that, I've unplugged the router and the boxes, reset the router, accessed the router's control panel to see it seems to be working well. The only thing I can see wrong is this: The router's "WAN Ethernet" light stays dark, though its "WAN Coax" light stays lit. I wonder if this could be the problem; and, if so, how could I fix that?
One thing worries me about a router problem, though: Why would I still have the guide on one of the six TVs?
Anyone have a clue if I'm on the right track?
Thanks,
GeorgeYes, sounds like a router problem.
The STB has to download the program guide via the router. Each box should download 10 days worth of programing. So when the router goes out it could take as much as 10 days before the guide disappears. So the one box that still has the guide, was the last one to update and had more guide data stored than the others. It will go as well just given time.
If you have rebooted and reset the router, then the problem is either you have a bad router or possibly a bad splitter. Either way, you need to call tech support so they can get a tech out.

Mysterious routing problem / interface determination
Hi,
I have a very very strange routing problem with XI.
A message is sent from R/3 to XI and then send via adapter to an external party. The routing is configured well. But sometimes I have the following problem:
A message is received by XI (from R/3). The receiver is determinated. Although an interface determination and receiver agreement is configured, the trace shows "no interface determination fpr party xyz and service abc found". The very strange thing is that finally the receiver interface DELINS.DELFOR01 with namespace urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages is set!!
Finally, the error message is "no receiver agreement found for "... DELINS.DELFOR01, urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages", which is reasonable because this receiver interface has never ever been configured!
Any idea why the interface determination cannot be found and nevertheless a completely wrong receiver interface is set?
This error occurs just sometimes for certain partners, but not always with all messages for these partners!
Help appreciated!
ChristopherHi,
all routing objects are 100% correct. Particularly the receiver service has definitely no DELINS.DELFOR01 interface, but nevertheless the Integration Runtime tries to send the message to this interface. Another strange thing is that in the trace there is the warning "no interface determination for party xxx and service xxx found".
By the way: The Receiver Determination was configured to terminate message processing when no receiver can be found.

All qfe interfaces do not have a ethernet connx but I also do not want to deinstall the quad card. Is there any possibility to turn thoose "interface checks" off.
Thanks MarcusNever mind I just figured out that thoose checks just run after the boot cdrom command.
