Link Tool - Hyperlink too long - Adobe cutting it short (Adobe Acrobat 8)

I have been trying to add a hyperlink by using the Link Tool. But when I paste the Hyperlink into the available section the link tool cuts the final elements of the hyperlink. When you therefore click on the hyperlink the web page you want is not displayed correctly.
Is there a way to increase the number of characters in the link tool to accomodate web sites that are longer that the standard norm?

When will Creative Cloud Connection be available? It's been entirely too long, Adobe!

Creative Cloud Connection is the missing link.
Adobe you have dropped the ball (although I truly hope only for a short while), and frankly I am astounded. Never in my over 20 years of using your products has there been a mistake as big as this one (in my opinion and only with the products I have been using). I'll even cut you some slack on the first two versions of CS.
You give us 20GB of space for files. Great. Ican can drag and drop files to the site. Awesome. I can create as many folders for organization as I want. Wonderful. But, I can’t drag and drop from CC to my desktop - when I do I only get a jpg image of the icon on my desktop. That’s a “drag”. In order to actually share a file with another party, I have to make your image public and email a link to that party. Annoying. This is only good for collaboration with others on one design at a time, but in the real world there are usually at least half a dozen projects happening at one time with tight deadlines. Comments can be added to aid in the progress of a project, but that’s about it so far. And, I cannot download more than one file at a time right now. So much for file sharing and enhancing work flow. At this point, I can’t even share your CC workspace with another person, like I can with Dropbox. Sigh.
Adobe you have been promising the Creative Cloud Connection – desktop access to Creative Cloud files – since May. I’m in despair. Why is it not available yet, Adobe, why? You have said that it's coming soon since May - it's August Adobe - what is going on?????????

They've prematurely set some of the expectations of the Cloud features too high with the marketing copy.

If they hadn't mentioned Cloud Connection in April but simply delivered it in Q3 or Q4, they would be heroes.

Broadcasting online links result in too long url

Hi,
we want tot broadcast bookmarks to user groups as online links. The generated mail contains a URL which is longer then 256 chars and therefore cannot be used by the user via a 'one click' action. If you check the generated url, not only the bookmark is included but also a long string of chars which are related to variables in the query/bookmark.
Can we some schedule an Online link for the bookmark, and not having the additional chars in the generated url regarding the variable.

I think you cannot schedule only the bookmark id through broadcaster..
Check the below link.. may be u can reorganise or delete the bookmark id..

I just got a new MacBook Pro and when creating the icons on my desktop I realized that if the title is too long it cuts if off and adds dots. For example, instead of the title stating "Graduate School Info" it will say "Gradu...fo". How do I fix it?

When switching to my new MacBook Pro, it will not let me display the titles of the icons as it has in my other Macbooks. In my new Macbook it will either:
a) cut off the title and inssert three dots
For example,
"Graduate School Info" will become "Gradua..nfo"
OR
b) it will cut off the word and put it underneath
For example,
"Publications" will become
"Publicatio
ns"
I am not sure how to change the settings so that it can allow more room to display the titles of the icons/folders the way I would like them to be displayed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The best you can do is highlite a file on your Desktop. Finder>View>show view options>
and increase your Grid Size to MAX.

Hyperion Planning Web URL is taking Too long time to respond

Word 2000 hyperlinks don't work in .pdf created with Acrobat 9 Pro

I'm new to Adobe Forums, so please overlook the effrontery of my posting a query previously discussed. Perhaps someone can simply reply with a link to the prior discussion. I have installed Acrobat 9.2 Pro in 2 computers, one running XP64 Pro, the other XP32 Pro. Word 2000 is installed in both. All Word hyperlinks work fine, but after .pdf conversion using Acrobat 9.2 Pro, none of these work. In 'Preferences', I have navigated Convert to PDF > Microsoft Office Office Word > Edit Settings > Add Links to Adobe PDF File and confirmed that the Add Links feature is enabled. Having ascertained that this glitch is not specific to either XP64 or XP32 operating systems, I uninstalled Acrobat 9.2 Pro from the XP32 computer and reinstalled Acrobat 6.1 Pro. Then using the same Word 2000 document, I converted to .pdf using Acrobat 6.1 Pro, with no problems whatsoever. This looks like a serious bug in Acrobat 9 Pro, which the telephone support folks have acknowledged. Alas, they won't give me the tiniest clue how to resolve it, nor any workaround, but merely refer me to AdobeForums.com for help. I suspect a corrective patch or 'upgrade' will be forthcoming, but meanwhile, if anyone knows of a workaround, please enlighten me. Thanks. /rmbrown

Thank you, CtDave, for your speedy reply and for the 'Acrobat Technical Evangelist' knowledge base article. Word 2000 is one of Microsoft's masterpieces - by disabling 'autosave', the application is totally stable, does not require 'activation' by Microsoft. Acrobat 9 enables 'saving' of interactive .pdf forms, a most valuable feature and one much appreciated by anyone completiing such forms. There must be more to this issue than 'incompatibility', because I can create a test Word 2000 document, hyperlink a valid URL, convert to .pdf with Acrobat 9, and the hyperlink works fine in Acrobat 9. When I attempt to do this using a much more complex Word 2000 document, embedded with scores of hyperlinks, these links fail to work following conversion to .pdf with Acrobat 9, but work fine following conversion to .pdf with Acrobat 6. I can then use Acrobat 9 to open the .pdf created with Acrobat 6, and successfully edit any of these fully functional hyperlinks using the 'Link tool'. I don't know who prepared the 'Acrobat Technical Evangelist' article (AF1908DCd01) - no credits were cited, and I'm far from certain that this authentically belongs to Adobe's knowledge base. So I appreciate your sharing this information with me, but I cannot say that my question has been definitively answered. Adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid"

I recently had my macbook pro logic board fail and had to purchase a new macbook pro (expensive reinvestment after only 3 years but that's another story).
Anyway, all of my cs4 upsell products loaded just fine, except adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid." After contacting adobe thru chat several times, here is the info I got back: my serial number IS valid, I still can activate 3 more times (deactivation was not an issue in this case), the final answer was the cs1 server (my previous version before cs4) is no longer available which basically renders my version of acrobat unusable. Is that really the case? Now that I have a new computer I can't use that software any longer it was working fine on my old laptop? Why did all the other software load okay? Did I miss something or is buying another upgrade neccessary?

Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver are all working just fine. I haven't needed any other apps yet since the reinstall. Install actually worked fine too for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 but when I try to open anything in it I get the Software Setup Screen and it wants me to enter the serial number for the product, when I do it says the serial number is invalid. I included a screen shot below with the serial number removed so you can see. In chatting with adobe, my rep said it is a valid number (obviously since it worked fine on my other apps), but the server for CS1 is no longer available and since I have an upsell from CS1 they cannot offer me support and to take my question to the forum board, so here I am.

Adobe Acrobat X Pro cannot handle claim based authentication

The system has licensed 'Adobe Acrobat X Pro' installed successfully. When SharePoint 2010 site collection has NTLM authentication, pdf document can be edited sucessfully using 'Adobe Acrobat X Pro'.
Issue arises when the sharepoint 2010 site collection has claim based authentication.
User logs in and navigate through links as-
Workspace->Document Library.
Selects PDF document->select "Edit Document" link.
This action opens Adobe Acrobat X Pro, but do not open pdf and displays error "There was error opening this document. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

Note, the same site collection(with claim based authentication), opens and allows to edit microsoft document successfully. There is request-response sequence.

When site is with NTLM authentication, adobe acrobat x pro opens and allow to edit successfully. But when it there is Claim Based authentication, it cannot. It seems Adobe Acrobat X Pro does not have capability to send appropriate headers to handle claim based authentication. Also it is not able handle the sequence of request-response for claim based authentication. When searched on web, there is one product of Acrobat called LiveCycle, which has capability to handle SAML. Does that mean Adobe Acrobat X Pro does not have the capability to handle Claim based authentication so it is depend on LiveCycle for it?

Use of Omnipage in combination with Adobe Acrobat

Hi
We were wondering if it is advisable to use Scansoft Omnipage as scanning interface rather than the scanning facility of Adobe Acrobat itself? If Scansoft Omnipage, as a dedicated scanning interface tool, more powerful that Adobe Acrobat's facility?
If that is the case, we would like to use Scansoft Omnipage for scanning and store the documents in Adobe Acrobat.
