  • How to change font size of tree control content programatically

    Hi,
    Can I programtically change the font size of  parent item and child item in the tree control.
    In my application the parent and child items are changing  programatically. ie the content of tree control is not constant it is  dynamic.
    I am using labview 8.6

    That does work...
    To keep this line of instruction under the same title, how do you change ALL the text?  not just the active cell?  i've tried double clicking, then editing text properties using the font dialog (ctrl + 0) on a non-running vi, then saved it, and hit run.  but it always reverts to some preset font properties values, and i don't know where they're being set....???

  • Items in Tree control move around when data is submitted using custom ItemRenderer

    I'm working on a Tree control with an XMLListCollection as
    its dataProvider.
    The dataProvider has information looking like this :
    quote:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
    <INFO>
    <FIELD label="STR_USER_NAME"
    type="text"
    value=""
    >
    </FIELD>
    <FIELD label="STR_USER_EMAIL"
    type="text"
    value=""
    >
    </FIELD>
    <FIELD label="STR_OPTIONAL"
    type="branch"
    value="0"
    >
    <FIELD label="STR_USER_ADDRESS"
    type="text"
    value=""
    >
    </FIELD>
    <FIELD label="STR_USER_POSTAL_CODE"
    type="text"
    value=""
    >
    </FIELD>
    </FIELD>
    </INFO>
    So in the Tree control I'd like the information to show up
    with a label and
    an
    editable textbox for each item :
    [Label] [textbox]
    To do this I made a tree like this :
    quote:
    <mx:Tree id="userTree"
    editable="true"
    rendererIsEditor="true"
    editorDataField="curVal"
    itemRenderer="{new ClassFactory(ItemRendererUser)}"
    itemEditEnd="e_ProcessData(event);"
    dataDescriptor="{new DataDescriptorUsers()}"
    showRoot="false"
    verticalScrollPolicy="{ScrollPolicy.AUTO}"
    />
    where the e_ProcessData() function looks like this (I used
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/html/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm?href=c
    elleditor_073_16.html#202105 as a guide) :
    quote:
    public function e_ProcessData(event:ListEvent):void
    event.preventDefault();
    userTree.editedItemRenderer.data.@value =
    ItemRendererUsers(event.currentTarget.itemEditorInstance).curVal;
    userTree.destroyItemEditor();
    userTree.dataProvider.notifyItemUpdate(userTree.editedItemRenderer);
    } // END OF e_ProcessData()
    I attached the rest of the files because they're a little
    bit longer.
    When I run the program, the data shows up fine when it is
    initialized the
    very
    first time, and I made a test button that just dumps the
    contents of the
    dataProvider in a trace statement to verify that the data has
    been set
    properly.
    The problem I've run into is whenever the textfield is
    edited, the item
    that
    I've selected jumps around the list.
    For example, if I edit the item "STR_USER_NAME" after I
    finish the edit, it
    will move from the very first position in the Tree to the
    bottom of the
    Tree.
    I traced the contents of the dataProvider and the
    dataProvider structure
    stays
    the same, with the "STR_USER_NAME" at the top, but if I look
    at the flex app
    in
    the web browser, its position is at the bottom of the Tree.
    This happens for every other item I try to edit... I read in
    the
    documentation
    that the ItemRenderers are recycled, so it means I should be
    checking to
    make
    sure the initial states are covered, but I'm not sure how
    this affects my
    application.
    Can anyone help me out with this ? Its very confusing - I've
    tried making
    an
    ItemRenderer using pure actionscript, mxml and the
    combination you see in
    this
    example and I always end up with the same behaviour - So I
    must be missing
    something critical...
    // ItemRendererUsers.mxml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    verticalScrollPolicy="{ScrollPolicy.OFF}"
    horizontalScrollPolicy="{ScrollPolicy.OFF}"
    creationComplete="initItemRendererUsers();"
    >
    From my FAQ:
    Q: I've created a custom itemRenderer component to use in a
    List
    based component (Datagrid, TileList, HorizontalList, etc.).
    When my List
    first displays, everything looks fine, but when I scroll it
    or change the
    dataProvider, some of the itemRenderers show values or
    formatting that
    aren't right. How do I fix this?
    A: List-based components don't draw a renderer for every item
    in the
    dataProvider. Instead, they create enough to display what is
    on screen now,
    plus one or two more waiting in the wings. This means they
    recycle the
    renderers rather than creating new ones when you change
    dataProvider or
    scroll up and down. When you use a creationComplete event to
    set up the
    itemRenderer, that event doesn't happen again when the
    renderer is used for
    a different set of data. The solution to this is to override
    the set data
    protected function that most components have.

    >
    > invalidateProperties();
    > } // END OF set data()
    Your set data needs to set a flag that gets picked up in
    commitProperties()
    and does your thing that you were doing before in
    creationComplete. You
    should see examples of this in the links I posted. Instead of
    this:
    _data.@value = inputText.text;
    you should look at implementing IDropInListItemRenderer,
    which will allow
    you to dynamically determine which field to look at, instead
    of hardcoding
    it. You also might wind up overwriting the stored value with
    a null value
    when the List passes the stored value in. I'd encourage you
    to really go
    through those links I posted and make sure you understand
    what they're
    saying. The itemRenderer life cycle is one of the hardest
    things to
    understand, but once you understand it, it makes many things
    in Flex much
    easier. It's worth investing the time.

  • How to search a tree control.

    Hi all,
    I just started learning Flash Builder not too long ago, quite a learning experience I have to say. I am a little lost and woul like some help from you guys.
    I am trying to build a menu tree that will display and image and information about that image when the corresponding node is selected.
    I also want to have the menu tree searchable, I looked at a few examples of tree controls to get some ideas but I keep hitting brickwalls left and right.
    I started over few times trying to follow some of the examples. Right now, I only have the visual elements, please see the code below.
    Thank you so much in advance.
    Here's the code I have so far:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                      xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                      xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="960" minHeight="560" backgroundColor="#FFFFFF" width="960" height="560">
    <fx:Declarations>
    </fx:Declarations>
    <mx:HDividedBox y="80" height="415" x="25">
         <s:Panel x="20" y="95" width="240" height="415">
              <s:TextInput x="10" y="-25" height="20" contentBackgroundAlpha="1.0" borderAlpha="1.0" textAlign="left" fontWeight="normal" text="Search" focusColor="#70B2EE" fontSize="10" color="#646464"/>
              <mx:Tree id="tree"
                        x="10" y="5" width="220" height="370" borderVisible="false" color="#787878">
              </mx:Tree>
              <s:Button x="160" y="-25" label="Find" fontWeight="bold" fontSize="10"/>
         </s:Panel>
         <s:Panel x="275" y="95" width="660" height="415">
              <mx:SWFLoader id="swfLoader"
                               scaleContent="true"
                   x="0" y="0" width="660" height="190"/>
              <mx:Text width="639" id="treeSelectedData"
                         height="169" x="9" y="203"/>
         </s:Panel>
    </mx:HDividedBox>
    </mx:Application>

    You should take a look at the help documentation about the tree component. They have an example code at the bottom that shows how to load in data to the tree and how to perform actions when a node in the tree is selected. Below is a link to the help documentation on the tree component.

  • Invalid B-tree node size error & updating OS

    I was toying around with the idea of updating my OS to 10.4 and increasing my storage capacity. A welcome upgrade to an old system that has been very good to me....until now.
    The short version is that I am experiencing quite a bit of directory damage (for the full story, read below). After researching hundreds of posts here, I think my best bet is to purchase Disk Warrior. My question is, which version should a purchase? As a result of the work I've explained below, my system is currently running the version installed from my OSX Install CD. I'm not sure what version this is, but my Mac came with CDs for OS9, OSX, and an upgrade to 10.2.8. Is there a version of Disk Warrior that will support 10.2-10.4? I want to fix the current issues but still be able to use this software when (or IF) I upgrade.
    I'm happy to provide any info needed and appreciate ANY help. Thanks,
    On a routine startup I encountered the stalled progress indicator (spinning gear) and its been downhill from there. I've scoured the Mac forums here for possible fixes, but so far nothing has been able to completely solve my problem. Here's a brief rundown of what I have done so far:
    1) Booted from OSX Install CD and ran disk utility. This verified I had catalog and node errors that could not be repaired.
    2) Ran Apple Hardware test from CD. Everything was fine.
    3) Ran TECHTool Pro that came with my AppleCare CD and identified similar errors but could not repair them. At this point I also got an "Invalid Sibling Link" error.
    Finally I decided that the data I had saved on my HD was not crucial so I would attempt a reinstall of the OS and lose what was not backed up. So I:
    5) Performed reinstall from OSX Install CD.
    6) Ran Disk Utility, all was fine.
    At this point I was able to run programs and boot up normally. Of course this was too good to be true, and it was, because subsequent restarts gave me even more errors! I was again experiencing the freeze at startup, although this time I was getting the Mac computer logo with smiley face icon for all eternity.
    7) Again booted from OSX Install CD and ran Disk Utility. I'm now getting an "Invalid B-tree node size" error. I;ve tried all the cycles with repair utilities to no avail. I am also unable to start up in single user mode so I'm stuck.

    Thanks! I will order DW and give it a try...
    I have run the Apple Hardware diagnostic CD twice (at different points in this process) and everything has come back cleanly. I am fairly certain this is a directory issue, but we'll wait and see. At the very least I will have DW to back up any future systems.
    This is sortof off topic, but what is the general service fee for visiting the Genius Bar? I consulted a Mac pro there to discuss an upgrade to my system, but there was no charge. I find this hard to believe...does anyone know? I can't seem to find anything online...

  • Numeric cell in Tree control ?

    Hi y'all !
    I'd like to have numeric input cells in my TREE CONTROL. I can see the types string, ring, combo box, etc. ... but NUMERIC is not included.
    I'm using CVI 2012.
    Is there an alternative or does anyone know at least why it is not supported ?
    Thanks!

    Hi carolynturnell,
    Indeed cell types included in a tree control are String,Ring, ComboBox, CheckBox, ColorPicker and HorizontalBar.
    Tree controls are used to view a hierarchical list of items.
    Why do you want to display Numeric/use tree control ?

  • Help me in Increasing attachment control size on infopath form

    I have several attachment control on the form. it may require more than 5 MB capacity per form. could anyone let me know how to extend attachment control size in infopath?

    Quoted From:
    -----http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c8d0c009-aa3f-48c2-8d99-08e26e9d35be/how-to-increase-the-size-of-attachment-file-in-infopath-forms
    The fix lies in either the machine.config file or the web.config file of the MOSS server.
    You'll need to increase the 'maxRequestLength' value in order to upload larger files.
    Ex:
    <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="8192" />
    Verify below link for more idea.

  • Tree Control - Design Mode - Indent Level

    Hi!
    In edit mode tree control has indent / outdent level right - click menu. I need this functionality. Indenting and outdenting items. I've implemented, but the in/out Denting does not works well, it the tag has children.
    I am wondering, is it possible to call indent/outdent level right-click menu in run mode?
    +++ In God we believe, in Trance we Trust +++
    [Hungary]

    Interesting challenge! The key involves creating your own custom run-time menu items and defining the actions of those items. Consider the following code, attached as an image and LV2010 VI:
    a.lia-user-name-link[href="/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/88938"] {color: black;} a.lia-user-name-link[href="/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/88938"]:after {content: '';} .jrd-sig {height: 80px; overflow: visible;} .jrd-sig-deploy {float:left; opacity:0.2;} .jrd-sig-img {float:right; opacity:0.2;} .jrd-sig-img:hover {opacity:0.8;} .jrd-sig-deploy:hover {opacity:0.8;}

  • Plumtree Tree Control

    How do I use the plumtree tree control to display structured data in a portlet?

    Stuart,
    I assume that you are using the EDK Web Controls package - it's a separate download from the .NET EDK, but I expect you are otherwise it would have been difficult to get it to work at all.
    I have managed to get this tree control to work, and these are the steps I took:
    Moved all images to the imageserver & changed the image base in the control to point to the location on the image serverMoved the htc file to the portal server and changed the webapp to point at this (you cannot put this on the image server as cross-site scripting security prevents this). This you can do in web.config.Each time the control didn't work I checked the html source to see if there were any links that were broken. I never had a problem with specific browsers though - it seemed to always work on IE, and always look bad on anything else!
    Also make sure you're using the EDK Web Controls 2.1 (not beta) - any older than this will not work.
