Link up and down messages

Hello,
I'm trying to determine the root cause of the following:
Why would I get a "link up" message before I get a "link down" message?
$ grep "link down" messages*

Visually all network cables look secure. The server has not been touched, and no known network issues reported. prtdiag -v does not show any faults either.

the link up messages are time stamped before the link down, so that seems normal. If your interface is "flapping", going up and down, then ensire you are using CAT6 cables and link autonegotiation on the interface AND the switch.

Recently I've lost the ability to use the options available with a right click on a bookmark in the main menu bookmarks. I can't move them around up or down, can't delete any either. The weird thing is in assorted bookmarks I'm having no problems at all.
Do you have any advice to help me, I want to thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give me with this problem. I have installed the latest update sent to me to no avail.

After the release of Firefox 29, several people noticed that after using the Customize feature, most items on the right-click menu for the Bookmarks menu on the menu bar became ''grayed out'' and unusable until you closed and started Firefox back up again. That seems to still be a problem for me in Firefox 36.0.4, so if you used Customize, that could be the explanation.
You still should be able to click and drag bookmarks around the menu even with the broken right-click context menu.
And if it's easier than restarting, the context menu still works in the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+b to open/close) and Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks").

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

The CC Cleaner Tool assumes the Akamai Download Manager is activated and it has not. It seems to be the missing file that triggers the error message. \in a previous re-install I was prompted to download & install the Akamai Download Manger, but not this time. While editing photos iPhoto shut down. The unexpected shut down message appeared and I pressed re-open. When it reopened I had lost my most recent import as well as imports from the past 2 weeks. When I try to re-import it says that they already exist

After an import of about 20 black & white photos to iPhoto I was editing one when iPhoto shut down. The "unexpected shut down" message was displayed. I clicked reopen, which it did. However, my last import was completely missing. Not only that, everything I had imported, adjusted and filed for the past 2 weeks was also missing. It has still saved all of the albums I created but all show "no photos".
When I try to re-import from my back-up, iPhoto says "can't import, photo is already in the library".
Can anyone help?

What version of iPhoto?
Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

When I click on a bookmarked link, the text jerks up and down for a few seconds

I wrote a file written in HTML, with no fancy coding. The file is http://www.pathologyoutlines.com/jobs.html. When you click on the hyperlink on this line near the top:

the screen jerks up and down a few times before stopping, at least on some computers. It is a simple bookmark. If you click on the link again, it doesn't happen. However, if the page changes, it does the "jerking" again.
I have checked and rechecked the code, and can't find any problems.
What do you think?

Re Create the task:
1. Open Safari
2. Go to the desired website/address
3. Click the send icon at the bottom (Square with arrow pointed up)
4. Click Message
5. Add contact in "To:" line
6. Hit send
It locks up and lags here on me and the message never shows up at the contacts phone/imessage/etc.

I have a big problem, we have an integration that is CRM -> XI <-> WS.
For server problems, legacies down the services (WS) at night, but a user can perform some process conectarce and in that time.
The problem is that all messages fall and these messages can not relanzarce, there is some solution to handle the calls are in stop until the legacy services are on top.

Indeed you understood my question, but in CRM asynchronous RFC were created so I can not handle if the service is up or not because you're sending IP and does not expect an answer.
The project is integrated to receive from SAP CRM movements: high, low and client modification, which must be reported to 2 legacy systems. BPM was used for this, which receives data asynchronously from CRM through a channel Sender RFC (RFC makes sending only 1 client or case-by called PI). After making the appropriate mappings BPM performs the call to 3 synchronous web services (SOAP 3ch Receiver, where the first giving the information needed to Reliz these movements, the second and third items of data are the legacies ).
As the scheme is as follows:
receives asynchronous -> synchronous transmission to service 1 -> Synchronous sending to service 2 -> synchronous transmission to service 3.

To add it back, tap the Edit button at the top of the list of mailboxes and select the missing email account so that it has a tick against it (you can also change their order in the list by dragging the parallel line icon to an account's right), tapping Done should then get it to show in the list

I have currently FF 3.6.8 running under Windows XP 32 bit. I am using Multiproxy Switch ver 1.33 add-on to switch between multiple proxies.
My FF starting page is http://www.google.com/ncr . When I start Firefox and the actually configured proxy is unreachable, I get the usual message that the page cannot be opened ("Try again"). Then I switch to another proxy or to direct connection. Normally the desired page (google) opens. But in case I switch the proxy before the error message appears, this grayed message "Search Bookmarks and History" appears instead of the URL in the URL input field and I have to retype the URL.
Remark: I would really like to have this function "Searching Bookmarks and History" available in Firefox, because I often do this kind of search and need 4 clicks to get there (Bookmarks-Organize Bookmarks-Bookmarks Menu-and then input my search criteria).

Linking 2 drops downs and having tables appear

I need to link 2 drop downs together so that the second is dependant on the first. I also need to have a table appear when the second drop down option is selected. If they change their mind and select a different option in the 2nd drop down a different table needs to appear. Currently i have 2 drop downs that are linked so that the options in the 2nd will change but i cant link this for a table to appear? Im not great with Java or scripting.

Who is your eMail provider, the part after the @ sign?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.
Mail: Can't send messages, "Cannot send message using the server smtp.xxxxx.com" alert appears...
