Link won't open generated on .MAC media browser

Very frustrating posted link to view private video through .MAC account, when link is clicked in Safari - it hangs half way through URL resolution. When same link is attempted on windows PC - no problem, when link is attempted on my system with FF, no problem - ***! I have repaired permissions and ran DW 4.1 for leopard, Safari 3.1 - nice that software written for MAC and executed on same MAC does not function correctly, but works on windows PC or third party browser!

Hi Will
Add DNS server numbers to your System Preferences>Network panel. When the panel opens, select your type of connection, then select "advanced". In the DNS servers panel, enter 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 if you live in the United States. Otherwise, use 208.67.222.220 and 208.67.220.222. Select "apply".
Restart Safari. Go to the Safari Menu>Empty Cache. Now, try the link again.

iWork (no 's') for iOS & iWork for Mac have not gone away.
iWork.com (beta) (also no 's') is going away the end of July. iWork.com (beta) is/was an online method of sharing iWork files with other users & never moved out of beta in 3+ years. It is a completely different entity than the iWork apps & is not & never has been necessary for the iWork apps to function.
A Numbers document, as well as Pages or Keynote documents, cannot be opened on a PC. You must first export them to a file that a PC can use. For Numbers that is generally Excel. In Numbers on your iPad tap the wrench & then tap Share & Print & choose Excel as the file type.
As for transfering a file from a PC to an iPad, I'm not sure as I don't use a PC.

  • Some u-tube links won't open

SOME u-tube links won't open in a mail message. I get a message saying 'an error occurred, try again later'.
They never open 'later'. Is there a work-around, or do I need a plug-in or something.
    Thanks

The forum software says you are using Firefox 19, can you update to Firefox 22 and see if this is fixed, is not can you try the super-beta verion of firefox, espically if youve upgraded to 4.3 it may be causing some problems.

  • Link won't open in goddaddy website builder tool

Links won't open when I try to preview using Go daddy website builder tool. I contacted Go Daddy and they said the tool works as designed on their side and suggested that it may be a browser issue. My question is that is there anything I can do to check my browser settings (i.e. security , etc.) that may correct this issue? I also need to check which version of Firefox is installed, I believe my latest version is 6.0 , not sure?

Please post the link so we can look it over.

  • HT1529 just loaded Mountain lion, went to about this mac to see if worked, won't open (about this mac)

just loaded Mountain lion, went to about this mac to see if worked, won't open (about this mac)  About this Mac is listed, nothing happens when I click on it.

I opened System Profiler by launching it from Utilities.
It comes up with a different name to the admin name though. Maybe that's why it won't open from "About this Mac"?
For example, the computer's name when I set it up using the USB installer stick is "Harry Potter".
But the old MBA that I had was named "js".
When I install programs, it comes up with "Harry Potter", put in password.
However, when I look up the System Profiler information using Utilities, it comes up with "js's MacBook Air (2)".
    Does that matter?
Is the name thing causing the problem with the "About This Mac" not opening?
I am really confused about all of this.
The information in the System Profiler is about the newer MBA.
Should I just not worry about this problem? And just open it up from Utilities if I need to look up System Profiler information?

  • Some YouTube links won't open

Sometimes a YouTube link won't open in a message in Apple Mail. The YouTube window opens when the link is clicked, but after trying to start the movie, says: "an error occurred, please try again later". I checked the finder-window-activity pane as ordered, and there were 6 of about 20 items that said "forbidden" in red letters. It gave no instructions on how to fix them, however.
These same links open on our MacBook laptop and iPad with no problem! What gives?
I tried to post this earlier, and got no response after a week. I reformulated the question with more information.
    Thanks

  • Anyone know why pdf links won't open? also- malware has hijacked the downloadable file available when clicking on Adobe's file:

Changed OS to Mavericks & pdf links from websites won't open. I also had private browsing on  in safari.
I have acrobat 10.1.10.  I tried to update it when prompted  by auto-updates and it said it can't because  the product has been changed since installed. that can only be the switch to mavericks osx. But it might have prompted me to get version 11 though I only have version 10 & I did the version 10 update in mid-Sept.
Then, I tried going to adobe.com, searched "upda" and got a list of the cs items with icons, plus two text only links, one was acrobat for mac and the last one, "Update manager update (Mac OS)". It said it is to "resolve a common issue with Adobe Update manager on Mac OS". I cliucked that and got some bogus file. When I hit the button on adobe's site, it shows that the file name should be Adobeupdatemanager403.dmg or something very similar to that. Instead in the download list /box I got " installjdownloader.dmg"  I clicked it once & saw terms of service in which they will switch you to use only their search engine, serve ads, etc. So luckily I didn't install it.
Does adobe need to investigate this malware problem? Others might search the way I did.
Anyway, this all started because after installing mavericks, i can't open any pdfs from the web.
Can anyone help me? Thank you very much in advance.

  • Links won't open

    Hi there,
Really stuck with something...my firefox won't open most links when i click on them. It seems to be more of a problem with the links that are represented by graphics, i.e. a button that says "browse" when going to upload photos.
Sometimes i can right click and choose open link in new tab etc but it doesn't always work. I'm working on a MacBook Pro running on sno leopard and have tried every setting i can find but still no joy.
It must be something to do with the settings rather than a fault, as when i log into my own account on the same mac (instead of my partners) it works fine.
Please could you suggest what i could do to fix this.
    Many Thanks
    Angie

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Firefox 4 won't open on my Mac; says it's not compatible with my system (Mac OS4)

I read the system requirements for Firefox 4. My mac should be compatible. I had Firefox 3.6? on my mac. Am running Mac OS 10.4.11. I downloaded Firefox 4; when I tried to install, it said there was a "newer" version of the software on my machine (but it is/was version 3.6) and asked if I still wanted to proceed. I said yes, thinking Version 4 would replace 3.6. Well, it did this. Now, Firefox is in my apps folder, but the icon has a / sign across it and the app won't open up. Just says it cannot open because it is not supported on this system.... Now what do I do? I can't go back to the 3.6 version because I can't find a version of it to download and I can't open 4. Help! How do I get Firefox back on my computer?

    4.0 needs 10.5 and an Intel processor. <br />

    For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

  • Firefox won't open on new Mac OS - profile cannot be found

I have a new Mac and have not been able to open FF. I just get this message: "your firefox profile cannot be loaded. it may be missing or inaccessible"
I have followed all the advice to be found. I have no Profile Manager. I have no folders in my Library, Utilities, Applications, or Users with a profile.ini I can't find any folders or documents anywhere with Firefox or Mozilla other than the application itself...which won't open.
I removed Firefox from my computer entirely, reinstalled, restarted the computer - everything. I still get this message.
    Would appreciate some useful advice.

Restoring a previous version of the profiles.ini file won't help because this is about the profile folder that is registered in profiles.ini is missing on that hard drive,
The most likely cause is a problem with the profiles.ini file and the profile marked as Default=1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.
    *Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
    *Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
    *Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\<br>C:\Users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\&lt;profile&gt;\
You can use one of these to make Firefox create/use a new default profile:
*Delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
*Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
*Use "Choose Folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile

  • Mozilla won't open on my Mac, and when I try to download it says it's in use. Any Help?

Thunderbird was listed as an external drive on my Mac. I accidentally clicked the eject button and now it won't open. I tried to find help in the forum but nothing worked. I tried to re install it and it says it's open and it can't install. When I get a new email the box flashes up on my screen, and if i click it it will open the mailboxes page. I would like to open the mailboxes page by clicking the icon on my toolbar, but I can't seem to make it work. I'm fairly new to Mac, and I'm sure that doesn't help. Anyone have some help?
