Linked devices

I would be very grateful for some help please. I have a BB Q10. I've been trying to install the latest version of BB Link on my laptop. At one point in the process, I get a screen that reads "LINKED DEVICES This BlackBerry ID isn't associated with a device running BlackBerry 10 OS or there was an error accessing your information". I now get the same message if I use the previous version of BB Link. I don't understand what's going wrong. My BB ID is live and kicking and has been for ages. It's the same ID as on my Q10. I haven't mistyped my username or password. I've even reset my password thinking that might have got corrupted somehow.  I've signed out of my BB ID and then back in. I've closed BB Link and opened it again. I've tried every help topic I can think of on the various BB help sites/pages but without any success (that may be because I'm being inept, of course). I've tried uninstalling BB Link on my laptop and then reinstalling it -- disabling my antivirus programme first in case that's interfering with it -- but again without success. If anyone has any bright ideas of how to solve this problem, I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

It's not so simple to add a new BBID to the Q10.. it requires a security wipe of the device.
Try this however, in your Settings > BBID. Edit and make some small change of your First or Last name or even the security question used, and save.
Then let's see if that reconnects your device to the BBID.

How can i keep separate playlists on linked devices so we can both listen to different music when not on a network or wifi?

    Hi Nancy,
If you keep the entire iTunes folder as it was and you're still using the same platform, you'll be able to keep all your playlist and metadata.

Just curious why when you have songs and playlilsts on the IPod it doesn't just sync with the computer? It only syncs from the computer to the IPod not visa versus.
Well, iTunes will only transfer content from the computer to your iPod. However, there's some ways to get around this. Read this carefully:
If you have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, then those are pretty easy to transfer to your computer. You'll just need to follow [this instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].
All your other songs (for example, those ripped from your CD's), you'll need to use any 3rd party program to transfer them to your iTunes library!
Some can also transfer your playlists, videos, ratings, podcast...

  • Linking devices residents in distinct segment via HSE

I would like to make a FBAP link between a H1 device under Linking Device and HSE device with FBUS Configurator.
But, FBUS Configurator seems to disturb such linking.
Now, a Linking Device and a HSE device are working on HSE.
FBUS Configurator shows those two links, and FBAP and Schedule are shown in each links.
Trying to drag&drop the HSE device's FunctionBlock into LinkingDevice's FBAP editor, it disturbs such behaviour.
    Can't I make such linking ?

    Thank you Chris.
I've read the FF spec again and I've not understood deeply, but I could imagine that H1 device may not be
    transparent from HSE device.
Because, the difference of LinkObject mechanism between H1 and HSE seems not to be able to link HSE
    and H1 device.
Assuming it is true, nobody can understad why H1 to resident in HSE via LinkingDevice.
Or, only the NI-FBUS Configurator is not capable for such use-case ?

  • HSE/H1 Linking Device Not Communicating

I have a HSE/H1 linking device. It does not communicate with the
NI-FBUS Interface Configuration Utility, version 3.1. I reset it in accordance with the
manual, but it still did not work. This item is less than 1 year old and,
as such, it is covered by the warranty. Can you offer any other trouble
shooting suggestions? If not I would like to return it for repair or
    replacement.

I guess your problem is that you can not find any linking device when you tried to add a HSE linking device in the Interface Configuration Utility, right?
Please make sure the LD connects a DHCP server and have a IP address, and I strongly recommend you use a 10Mbps hub(or switch) instead of 100Mbps hub.
If it still doesn't help, please send e-mail to [email protected] for further support.

  • D-Link device isn't powering up

I've used a D-Link device for over a year with much success. After recently purchasing a new Mighty Mouse with my G4 iBook,. my D-Link device now fails to light up. I'm running OSX 10.4.7. Have tried rebooting the laptop but still no luck - with either USB port. Any and all ideas are welcome.

Sounds like your iMac has serious hardware problems. You best would be to take it to Apple and ask them to repair it.
Your iMac is not a PPC. It is an Intel iMac. Apple stopped produccing PPC in 2006. I will ask the Mods to move you post to the correct forum.

  • FBUS-HSE/H1 Linking Device-- unprotected surface mount boards ?

With the HSE Linking device, I noticed that the circuit board opposite the heatsink vent is exposed to the environment.
This circuit board appears to be an uncoated surface mount (fine pitch) board.
Presumably, this would be mounted facing the "ceiling" of the industrial wiring cabinet, since you would want the processor heat to escape from the top.
Unfortunately, this means that any dust and junk in the atmosphere collects on the surface of the SMT board.  It wouldn't take much in the
way of fine metal fragments to cause shorts.
So is the board coated ?  Is there an "approved" way of covering the vent with an air filter to protect the device ?

Our products meet pollution degree 2 requirements. Adding a filter will not lower pollution degree. You can install the FBUS one of NI's enclosures or an equivalent enclosure to reduce exposure to dust. Enclosure used should have UL or TUV certification (approval) for Ingress Protection (e.g., IP54 min).

  • What is the default IP address of the HSE/H1 Linking Device?

I am evaluating an NI FBUS-HSE/H1 Linking Device. I am using a PC (not a DHCP server) to communicate to the FBUS-HSE/H1 but the PC cannot detect the device. When not assigned an IP address by a DHCP server, does the FBUS-HSE/H1 have a default IP address? If so, what is it? If not, is there a simple work-around?
    Chris

    Hi Chris / Sean,
I assume that you mean you got a freebee DHCP "server" & not "client", as most PCs are clients.
Any chance you could direct me to the "freebee" as I have tried a few free ones for this problem but
    have had no luck.
Currently I am using an old ADSL modem that has a DHCP server, but it means another box stuck
    on the network.
I am also hoping that NI will allow future versions of the LD to boot with a "default" address as most
other LDs now do (something like 10.0.0.1-254 range would be nice).
Sean - is this on the wish list for a future S/W upgrade. Just about everyone that has tried to get
one of these LDs running has come up against this "non-standard" arrangement.

  • How can I delete linked devices from my icloud account?

Someone that I dont Know has sign in on an ipad. I've already changed my pasword but I still can see it linked. for example it apperar on my icloud tabs on safari. this really bothers me.
    How can I unlink it?

Still seeing the other person's iCloud tabs does not necessarily indicate that they still have access to your iCloud account.  iCloud tabs will remain for up to 7 days even if a device is no longer active on your iCloud account.  After 7 days they should automatically be cleared.

  • Safari search history across linked devices

My 2 sons and I have 3 devices all linked by the one apple ID. I have noticed that I can see on my ipad what open tabs my son has on safari on his iPod. Can he also see what I am browsing on the Internet. I really don't want them reading some of the stuff that I access none of which I might add is dodgy just not appropriate for young kids. When I saw in the cloud tab that I could see his open links I worried that he had access to mine. I have looked on his iPod and can't see anything I have open but I just wondered what the official technical answer is. On reading all the cloud stuff it would appear that open pages stay open across all devices. Any advice would be gratefully received

Ok that 95% answers my query and I have gone on and cleared all the history on his ipod and also any open pages on both his and my devices however where o n the iPod would I see what he sees when I have a tab open i want to do a test and leave a tab open on my device and see what he sees. On the ipad it's very obvious where the cloud is as it sits at the top of the browser next to the history when you are on safari but I can't find anything similar on his iPod . It is the most recent version he has of the iPod. He def has the same cloud as me but I just can't see where he would see the open tabs. I can change the setting on my ipad to private browsing which will ensure he can't see any of my searches but I was curious to see where he would see it. My other son is getting the new ipad mini next week and I will have to check his too so it would be good to know where to look to check. Finally can you have a different cloud ID but keep the same apple ID for app sharing. ( I am an old mom and haven't a clue but want to protect them as much as poss). Thanks in anticipation

  • Blackberry ID linked device does not show up in Blackberry link

    Hello all,
I am using a blackberry 10 (software version 10.1) that is registered to my blackberry ID account. Now i want to exchange files through the wireless network between my blackberry and my computer. My computer is running Blackberry Link 1.1.1.32.
When i open Blackberry Link and sign in to my blackberry ID account i expected that the phone would be added to the list of connected devices. However it gives me a error message that the account has no blackberry devices connected to it.
When i connect the phone on the USB port i can exchange information. However i would prefer to exchange date through WiFi and the cellular network.
    This I have already tried:
I verified online that the mobile device is registered with that account.
    I reinstalled bb link
I tried to logout/login on blackberry link
I have wiped the mobile device
I have pushed the button refresh devices several times over 2 hours (in blackberry link)
    I have waited 4 hours.
My phone does show the laptop in the configuration screen 'blackbery link' connected devices. However i cannot choose the device in the file explorer to open it.
Does anyone have a clue what is happening here? It kinda looks like something is wrong with my blackberry ID.

I have factory reset the mobile.Created a new blackberry ID. Hooked up the new Blackberry ID with Link and the mobile and still Blackberry Link cannot find the Blackberry mobile when i click refresh devices in Link.
Where can I get some interactive support? The blackberry support website refers me to the telecom provider/vendor for support. However they plainly say "we dont know, contact blackberry".
Does anyone know who I contact blackberry and how (e-mail/phone) English support is ofc not an issue. The phone is purchaced from KPN the in Netherlands.

  • Where is my list of linked devices?

Where I can find what devices are linked to my Apple ID account?

OK, my bad. Do this instead:
On your computer open iTunes. At the top of the screen you will see Store (in between "Controls" and "Window"). Click on Store>View Account>then type in your password to view your account information.
Once the info screen opens, you will in the section called "iTunes in the Cloud" an option to Manage Devices:
Clice on the Manage Devices option and you will then see a screen listing all of the Devices/Computer associated with your Apple ID:
You can selectively remove the devices/computers you no longer want associated with your Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    GB

  • Linking devices that use seperate routers with 2 seperate dsl lines.

Basically at home i have a setup like this using two different dsl lines.
    DSL-Line1 > Wireless Router/Modem1 > laptops/games consoles using it.
    DSL-Line2 > Wired Router/Modem > wired pc's/file server.
Basically i'm wondering if i replace the wired router/modem with something like a wag320n is there a way to link the two wireless networks together so the games consoles/laptops can get access to the pc's/file servers, but have them still using the seperate dsl lines?,
ie being able to see each other but still using dsl-line1 internet access for the games consoles etc, and the pc/fileservers using dsl line 2.
    Thanks

You can connect both routers with an ethernet cable. Example setup:
Wireless router: LAN IP 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0. DHCP server enabled for 192.168.1.100-149.
Wired router: LAN IP 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0. DHCP server disabled.
Everything which is supposed to go through the wired router must have a static IP address configured on the device itself. You configure an IP address, e.g. 192.168.1.200, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.2 and dns 192.168.1.2. Now that computer will use the wired router as internet gateway.
All devices which still use DHCP to obtain an IP address will connect through the wireless router to the internet.
Inside your LAN you have full connectivity.

  • How do I remove a linked device that has been sold?

I sold my desktop and laptop but forgot to remove them from my synced iCloud devices.
I did tell the new owners to set up iCloud which would have removed them from my account but they never did it.
I've even sent them a message via "find my devices".
I can see them on "find my devices" and I can see changes being made in my bookmarks on my existing computers.
For now I have unlinked my current computers to the cloud. I'd like to start using the syncing functions of iCloud again but first I need to remove the two computers I sold.
Is there a way such as in iTunes where you can deauthorize all devices and start from scratch?
Would simply changing my password work? I'd rather keep my password but if I have to change it I will.
(if there is a better forum for this question, please let me know)

    Tom Lockwood wrote:
Would I still be able to see them on "find my devices" if I change my password?
You might, some mac hardware will continue to transmit its location even after they have been wiped, the only way to remove the device from your find my phone in such circumstances is for the device to be logged into another iCloud account and enable find my phone under that account.

  • Link Device Switch just doesn't work!

    Hi guys,
Was really excited to get my spanking new Z10 but its been marred with issues ever since I got it! Now the biggest problem for me is the sync. I have a 9700 on OS6 and have been trying to use the device switch to get all the data transferred onto my Z10.
I started device switch and it successfully backs up the 9700 but when I connect the Z10 and start the process there, in 1 second it shows data successfully copied and then gives me a communication error (Failed to read the device backpup types) and then no data has been copied on to my Z10.
This is extremely annoying! Can anyone please help me with this! Thanks!!

    Agreed, it doesn't work.
Have tried via a media card.  Copied the "DeviceSwitch" directory to every possible location on the media card and it still doesn't do anything.  I suspect the Z10 is looking for a different directory name than that created on the old phone (Curve 9320 running 7.1).
Have tried the PC transfer, this was worse.  The only thing that transferred was calendar items.  Shame that it stored events from a few years ago to current dates.  It's as if it didn't take the year into account and just loaded old data starting with the current date.
This is incredibly poor programming.  This is my fourth and LAST BB.  I've only had it for a day and after 4 hours of trying to do a simple copy I'm ready to throw it away!  I have no patience left for the company I have supported for the last 6 years.
UPDATE - The Z10 won't read the media card from the Curve as it has a different format.  This is why it doesn't find the DeviceSwitch directory with the data on it. Does anyone actually TEST software they write these days?
