Linked PDF opens too large

I have a pdf that is at 100% on my screen, yet when it is uploaded and linked to Muse it then opens closer to 200%.
How can I get it to open at 100%?
I have checked with the Acrobat forum and they instructed me how to reduce the file: (Open the document in Acrobat and use ctrl-D to get to the document properties. Select the initial view option and set the resolution desired. Then save and upload.)
I did this and it is now at 100% when I open it on my desktop, but not when uploaded. I have made sure to reserve and rename the document, but it still is 200% when linked and opened.
Thanks for your help!

I get the below error when I try to download a response as a .pdf:
Some content on the PDF is too large to fit on a single page.
Please go to the "Design Tab" and adjust the contents, the font-size, or divide the flagged items into multiple elements.
    Any ideas?

Go to the Design Tab and make sure you switch to the Page View (look the bottom right corner of the screen)
Once you see the Page View (used to see what the PDF will look like for your response) scroll down and you might see which object is being trucated (it will be covered by a red rectangle). This often happen if you have a element that is too big to fit on one page (like a single or multi choice field).
You will need to adjust your element so that nothing is trucated.

  • Elements 12 screen opens too large

Elements 12 screen opens too large to grab lower right hand corner to reduce!  How do I fix this?

Are you on a Mac? Change the screen display resolution (you may need to do this several times) switching back to normal resolution between each change. Eventually the display problem should resolve itself and the PSE window fit within your normal screen display size.

  • Printing pdf documents too large acrobat pro 10.1.12 and OS 10.9.5

Using my Acrobat pro 10.1.12 and IMac OS 10.9.5, all my pdf documents print about 10 - 15% too large and run off page even though they are standard size documents and print fine using my Mac Air OS 10.8 and Acrobat Pro 10.1.1.  The "shrink" and "Fit" settings are ineffective and I don't think they should be necessary anyway since these are standard size documents. Please help!!!  THANK YOU

Correctn. My problem came from firefox. Once I changed page setup under the file heading, it worked fine. Seems the new install of adobe somehow changed the setting in firefox to 150%.

  • In Address book print window opened too large for window.  Unable to close

Using Address book,   trying to print lables for a group, print window opened to large for window.... cannot cancel or close out.

In general, in any window presented which calls for user action, if a button is highlighted (usually in blue if the OS is in charge) then pressing Return or Enter will do the same as clicking that button.
Most of the time the highlighted button is the one which is most usable - the "Print" button in that dialog window, for example, or the "Save" button in a Save dialog window.
The keystroke Command-. (Command-periodkey) will usually invoke a "Cancel" button if such is present in a window.

  • Is there a way to make a linked PDF open in Acrobat instead of the browser?

I would like to make a PDF open in Acrobat instead of the browser, so that the user can see its interactive features. Is there a way to do this in Muse? Or does it always spend on the user's browser settings?

This would depend on the browser plugin installed , if browser does not have reader plugin then pdf will not open in browser.
Not much can be done via Muse , but you can try some settings on pdf like password protected etc.
    Thanks,

  • New Photoshop CS6, 27" iMac, Opens too Large

New iMac 27", new Photoshop CS6. Just opening. It opens much larger than my screen so can't get to bottom R to rescale Photoshop and save it.

Do you have all the updates for CS6?  Retina display support came out with 13.0.3 according to this JK blog post.

If you already have that update, Google how to use Retina display support with Photoshop.

  • How do I make a linked PDF open in fullscreen view? [contd]

I believe I asked the wrong question earlier. The PDF actually opens in a 'page width' mode if I open the file from the acrobat.com list. However, if I open from the 'Sent files' list followed by 'open link', the screen format is a box on the left for the document which fills the width of that box, and another box to the right of the document which contains the following info vertically: Sent by, Date sent, Type, Pages, Size, Download (button), and Report abuse.
The latter format is the one seen by the emailed recipients of the 'Anonymous link' when the file is 'sent'.  Is it possible to arrange for the recipient to see the document without the box on the right [as in the 'sent file' format]?  This box is not a function of the Acrobat program but of the acrobat.com website which displays the same document from the 'acrobat.com' list without the offending info box.
I appreciate your help very much. Thank you.

    Thanks for your kind response.
Nowhere do I see a file/properties, whether I select the file while looking at the list, or open the file from the 'acrobat, com' list or the 'Recent files' list, or open the sent file from the 'Sent files' list, or 'open link' after the latter action. There is a 'settings' icon when the file is opened from the 'acrobat.com' list and 'Recent files' list, but the only options are 'rename' and 'delete'. I checked all the icons and dropdowns on all the pages, but no file/properties. I could have missed it.
I have a basic subscription. Is there a subscription level where this fullscreen option becomes available?
Thanks so much for your help.

  • Scan to PDF files too large! - Why?? Solution for Windows - How about Mac? (HP-8630)

Scanning a document to a PDF file of reasonable size has been addressed many times - it is always an issue! My wife is a realtor and frequently needs to scan multiple page documents. I found an actual solution last night:
27 page letter-size B&W document - Scan to PDF on my HP-8630 AIO using HP software at 300dpi, small file size, BW: 27MB! Too big to email.
Solution (in Windows 7 at least), if you have Adobe Acrobat:
Open Adobe Acrobat, go to File Menu -  Create - PDF from Scanner - Configure Presets. Select and configure "Black and White Document":
Select TWAIN device (NOT WIA) as the scanner; black and white, 300dpi, file size one notch to left (smaller) from center, check "optimize after scan". Select paper size and one- or two-sided scanning. Uncheck "make searchable". Save the preset. (The TWAIN driver was apparently installed with the HP installer, since I did not have to look for it.)
After placing pages in the Doc Feeder,  go to File Menu, Create - PDF from Scanner - Black and White Document. Watch the magic!
File size 768k!  Quality indistinguishable from the 27MB version, sharp and clear, all 27 pages! Really!
Using the HP software, using a lower resolution or sliding the file size slider to smaller makes a muddy scan, and the file  is still huge compared to the Acrobat technique. MUCH worse quality than the Acrobat 768k version.
Interestingly, using Acrobat to open the 27MB scan and "PRINT" it to the PDF Printer reduced the size to 10MB, with no change in appearance. "Save as smaller PDF" did not reduce the size further.
What gives, HP?? What can Acrobat do  to scan from your AIO that you can't do?
I tried on my Mac as well - we use both. No go. On Mac OSX 10.10.1 with latest HP drivers, Acrobat does not see any TWAIN or other driver from within the dialog box described above. Scanning from HP software again yields about 1MB per page.
Anyone know how to make Acrobat see the scanner on Mac?

    Hi @JosephWit ,
I see by your post that you are having issues with the PDF scanning size being too big. I will do my best to assist you with this issue.
The drivers for 10.10 are installed by the Apple Updates. Did you install the 10.9 drivers or are did up run the Apple Updates to install the printer?
Uninstall the 10.9 printer software and run the Apple Updates to install the proper drivers. Then you can scan with the Apple Software.
Connect the printer to the Mac by a USB cable and run the Apple Updates to install the printer drivers.
Go to the Apple, About this Mac, click on the Overview tab and select Software Updates.
Go to the Apple, Printers and Scanners, delete the USB drivers and disconnect the USB cable.
Then add the wireless printer as a Bonjour printer if the printer is networked.
Click on the + sign, highlight the printer, below beside Use: make sure just the printer name is listed. (you might have to click on the drop down to select your printer from the list)
Here is a document for Scanning in OS X v10.10 Yosemite Without HP Software.
If you are having issues with Adobe, run the updates. Product updates.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • Save as PDF Files too large, Remove Embedded Fonts/Compress Fonts

When I create PDF's using "Save as PDF" in Mac OS X, the file sizes are much larger than is acceptable for my application. For example, a recent PDF I created ended up at 1.7 MB and I need it to be around 150 kB.
When I open the file in Acrobat Pro 6.0 and audit the file, I see that 94% of the file size is taken up by embedded fonts. I can then Optimize PDF with Acrobat Pro and remove the embedded fonts. The file size drops to around 145 kB.
Is there any way to NOT embed fonts when creating PDF's with Mac OS X? Also, is there any way to compress with Mac OS X in a manner similar to Acrobat Pro?

    Hi LD,
I don't think so that this is possible.
I have the same problem to ... even when I open a existing PDF file that I downloaded from the net. It was 150 Kb an after I work in it to make same changes I save it an turns up to be 2 to 3 Mb or sometimes even more ...
I open de PDF than in Acrobat pro and remove everything I don't want ... I select in Acrobat Pro an select 'optimise PDF'

  • View Player Window opens too large on Mac screen

I am using iTunes 6.0.4 and when I open up a podcast video in the "View Player" (lower left hand corner of iTunes) it opens up so large I cannot view it properly. How do I shrink the size of this "view" on my Mac.
When I open the same "View Player" in iTunes on my Dell PC, it opens up perfectly.
What do I need to change to view this "view window" properly.

The artwork and video pane shows videos 'fit to window size'.
Do they open in a separate window?
If so, the window is probably set to 'Double Size'.
Control-click, or if you have a 2 button mouse, right-click on the window and choose 'Normal Size' or 'Half Size'.
    Hope this helps.

  • Windows opening too large

Ok not sure how to explain the situation and not sure if their is a fix for this but here goes...I have some macs here at work that when you open certain folders the window is too big for the screen and half the window is cut off at the bottom of the screen. Now I know you can click the green + sign at the top left corner but is there some kind of setting that needs to be set so these windows open at a certain size all the time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jeremy
Your post has half the fix. Click the green button and then from the bottom right corner of the window resize to taste. If this does not work, trash the com.apple.finder.plist file, restart and follow procedure above.

  • Pdf form -- too large font

    Hi,
I'd like to fill a pdf form with atril. Unfortunatelly it uses so huge fonts, that some of the letters are actually lolling out of the box. Do you have any idea how to change the fontsize?
Or any alternatives? Acrobat Reader works fine, but I'd rather not use it, since it cannot save the filled form. I've already played around with inkscape, but that's more like avoiding the problem, than solving it
    Thanks!

I do the same as dice, in that I try it with various PDF readers (and a web browser if I'm pushing out the boat) to see if they'll work.
Don't know about saving the completed form, because I tend to fill them in and then PDF print it and print to a printer.
And I'd say it's something to do with Adobe being Adobe.
