Linking address book and msn for mac

I've just recently got the new macbook pro, and I was wondering if there is a was I can put my contacts from address book, into msn?
matt

Probably, but first you need to export them from Address Book to a CSV file, then use the Import function of MSN Live to import them. You can get more info from their web site here.

How do I sync from ical and address book to office for mac 2011 in outlook?  icloud is turned on, sync is turned on in outlook and in itunes.  Email working fine in outlook, but no contact or calendar information.  Microsoft said it is an Apple issue.  They said icloud is not compatible with Outlook.  I have OS Lion if you need to know that.

  • How can i sync mac address book w/ outlook for mac 2011

Is it possible to have the address book in Outlook for Mac 2011 sync w/ the Mac address book?  I cleaned up my contacts in the Mac address book expecting the changes to show up in my outlook address book.  Made over 200 changes that did not show up on the Outlook address book.  Seems like there should be a way to make this work.  If I add contacts from within Outlook, I'd like them to show up on all my devices.  MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPad.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm new to this platform as I was a PC guy for the last 30 years.

I've got Outlook up and running just fine.  Still have the problem with getting duplicate emails but I'm waiting on MS to get a fix for that in an update.  Apparently that has been an ongoing issue.  I've been in contact w/ a senior MS Outlook tech on that.  I guess I'll just have to make sure that all contact adds/edits are done in Outlook.  Then I can sync my phone or iPad and get the cloud to update the other Apple devices off that sync.  Either that or figure out how to export from the Mac address book to the Outlook address book once in a while.

  • Syncronising address book and Calander between macs

    Hi
I have Mini Mac (Tiger), Macbook (Leapord) and Airport express. I want to keep the address book and calander syncronised automatically.
I do not have mobile me. I mainly use google mail.
Does isync help of howelse do I do it?
    Badrakumar

No, iSync is for syncing Contacts and Calendars to third-party mobile phones and PDAs. It does not sync anything between Macs.
Apple's MobileMe is for syncing Address Book and Calendars between multiple Macs.
You might also be able to use Google's new CalDAV feature:

    Or SpanningSync:

  • Transferring files from Address Book to Outlook for Mac 2011

I know that this topic has been addressed, but I have a strange problem with what should be a straightforward process.
Whenever I highlight all the entries in Address Book and drag them to an empty folder on my desktop, Address Book creates a single file titled, "vCards.vcf." This file is quite large, which leads me to suspect that it somehow contains all the names in my Address Book, but nothing I have tried - or read - has given me the slightest clue how to use this file to move the names over to Outlook. Likewise, nothing I have tried has been successful.
In the past, whenever I highlighted all the names in Address Book and dragged them to a folder on my desktop, a vCard for each name appeared in the folder, so this development has really surprised me.
Any idea as to what I am doing wrong?

The single file does indeed contain all of the vCards in one file.
I don't know about Outlook '11, but all the Windows versions of Outlook cannot handle a multi-contact vCard. I would imagine Outlook '11 to be the same.
It's been creating multiple vCards for a while (perhaps just since Snow Leopard, but I can't remember).
Entourage has been able to sync with the Address Book for quite some time. Try looking in the Outlook prefs for that option.

  • Can I link address book and numbers?

I want to add addresses in Numbers, and thought to myself that it would be very handy if I could just link them to my address book. Even more perfect; if/when an address changes, the entry in Numbers should change as well (automatically if possible, but manually is ok as well. Is this possible?
I tried to just click and drag an address into Numbers, but couldn't figure out how to choose which fields should or shouldn't be in Numbers. Let alone the linking...
    Thanks in advance,
    Joris

Well, that's one way of course, and it may be that I have to do it that way, but it woudl save time and effort if I only had to change address book, without the extra steps.
Maybe I just have to bite the bullet, buy database software and transfer everything into that.
The plan was to have addresses, a summary of contracts, invoice details and calculations etc. all in a pages spreadsheet, but perhaps that's asking too much anyway.
I don't understand what's the meaning of  "pages spreadsheet" but I guess that you may stop hoping for an automatic transefer of datas between AddressBook and Numbers.
At best, what may be delivered is a script able to grab AddressBook contents and pass it in a Numbers table
and a script able to create AddressBook records starting from a Numbers table but
    (1) it will not be easy to treat the problem of duplicates
    (2) several fields available in AddressBook can't be transferred to Numbers.

  • How can I sync my Address Book and ICal with Mac and PC with Palm Desktop?

I now have the IPhone and I love it!!! But I have some issues and need help please. I have a PC at work and a Mac at home. In the PC I use the Palm Desktop Version 4.1.4 and I have there all my contacts (more than 1,100), all my date book (since 1998) and all my memos (about 600). I want to see what would be the best way get rid of my Palm Handheld and have only the IPhone, but I have encountered some problems and many steps. Everyday I have to sync the Palm Handheld at work, then sync the Palm Handheld at home with my Mac (using The Missing Sync, but it takes a long time every time), then sync the IPhone. Can you please help me??? How can I sync my data from my PC (Palm Desktop) with the IPhone? Another, thing; I do not want to use Outlook at work because the information that I want to sync (Palm) is my personal data and I want to keep using the Palm software for that.

    aflores48,
Unfortunately, the iPhone is not designed to sync with Palm software. As stated in the minimum system requirements, the iPhone can sync with Outlook (2003, 2007 or Express) on a PC, or with iCal and Entourage on a Mac. If you do not want to use Outlook on the PC, you can sign up for a free Yahoo account and sync with Yahoo Address Book. Yahoo Address Book can be used to sync from PC or Mac. More information on the minimum system requirements for the iPhone can be found here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305703
More information about syncing the iPhone with your computer (including Yahoo Address Book) can be found here:

    Hope this helps,

  • How to sync Address Book TO Outlook for Mac 2011

I am using the native Address Book from Mac OS 10.7.5 and need to keep using it because it syncs with my iPhone. However, I am using Outlook for Mac 2011 and want the contacts to synch from Mac Address Book to Outlook's contact list.
Synch services have been turned on in Outlook.
Originally, I was going to switch to Mac Mail but discovered that importing mail from Outlook is a headache (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=0&tstart=0). Outlook works well and has for years so rather than going through a bunch of manual drag and dropping of folders to make mbox files, or buying software to do it, I thought getting the contacts to synch would suffice since that's all that's really needed.
What I discovered is that Outlook will feed new contacts to Mac Address Book when they are generated in Outlook but the Mac Address Book does not feed new contacts to Outlook if they were generated in Address Book. Is this even possible? If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Karen
I read this previous thread but it talks about contact info going FROM Outlook to Address Book instead of the other way around: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=30&tstart=0

  • I fixed my iSync Problem it now syncs Address book and iCal on 10.4.9

Ever since updating to the latest version of OS X 10.4.9 iSync didn't work anymore with my Sony Z520i.
Neither Address Book or iCal wouldn't sync at all and I tried everything even a fresh erase and Install.
Someone here on this forum told me to delete the folder SyncServices found in ~/library/Aplicatrion Support/SyncServices. I did that but it still didn't work so I replaced the same folder from the trash. I then launched iSync again, it did sync my address book only. I couldn't select the option for iCal in iSync anymore until I resynced my iCal in my Mac prefrences, after that I could select it in iSync but it would still fail.
So I deleted two files that belong to iCal located in ~/library/Aplication Support/iCal the two files are sync.plist and syncState.plist
When I tried it it worked perfectly iSync synced both address book and iCal and I have been testing it without any problems updating my address book and iCal for the last few days.
    It's 100% fixed :)

You only get the one hour difference if the Time Zone or Daylight saving setting is set incorrectly on your phone, or if you are viewing events before the last time the clocks changed (March), or after the next time the clocks change (October).

  • Switching from Entourge to Mail, Address Book and iCal - HELP!

Has anyone out there previously been a fan of Entourage but switched to Mail, Address Book and iCal on Mac? Im consistently disappointed in Entourage and it's database corruptions, but dont want to have to open three apps to do the same thing! Anyone out there made this switch and rectified this dilemma in their minds?
I truly wish the next Mac OS would merge these into one program like Entourage, but until then, any insight?
    Thanks!
    Kevin

In Mail.app, try pulling down the File menu and select the "import mailboxes" item.
To sync your PDA, use Apple's iSinc. Info on iSync is available here ...

  • Address Book and Bookmarks

I recently got an iBook G4 and I would like to share my address book and bookmarks for Safari from my iMac G5, so I have that same info on both computers. Is there an easy way to do that? I have an airport wireless network in my house so I use the dsl connection with both. Thanks!

You could Export all your addresses from the one computer and import them onto the other computer. Just Highlight all your cards and click Export ~ You can save it to your Desktop and then email it to yourself on your other computer. Then, when you get the email on your other computer, open the email, and click on the vCard you've sent yourself. It will import all the cards to your address book.

  • HT4489 How can I synchronize contacts between Apple Address Book/iPhone address book and Outlook (I'm on Mac OX10.7.4 and using Office 2011)?

I appear to have done what I should to move to iCloud on my Mac, MacbookAir, iPhone and iPad.  Using Outlook 2011 on the iMac and unable to sync contacts between Outlook and my Apple Address Book and iPhone over the cloud.  I gather lots of people have the same problem but some appear to have solved it... any ideas?
Also, in some sync, I managed to duplicate the entries on the Address Book on my Mac, whereas the iCloud Address Book is ok.  How can I replace the Address Book on my computer with the one on iCloud?
    Thank You for any help!

Hi Lucy, I had the same problem with Outlook data sync. Once you've enabled iCloud all your contacts are moved to iCloud and are no longer stored on Mac, that's why Outlook cannot reach them - there is simply nothing to reach as data physically stored in cloud.
I use SyncMate to solve this problem. This app allows connecting and syncing numerous devices and accounts with your Mac and they have recently added iCloud into this list (here the page where they describe sync with iCloud http://www.sync-mac.com/cloud-sync.html ).
This is how I established sync of my Outlook data with iCloud via this app.
    1. SyncMate syncs only that data which is located on your Mac so you will need to move your contacts back to Address Book on mac from iCloud and disable iCloud for contacts (in order they were stored on Mac, not in iCloud).
    2. You install SyncMate and add iCloud as a new connection (depending on data you want to sync you need to choose "Cloud contacts" or "Cloud calendars" connection in SyncMate wizard and log into your iCloud via SyncMate). Once you've done this, you can sync data on Mac with iCloud via SyncMate.
    3. I may assume that automatic sync option is enabled in Outlook preferences (as previously your contacts on Mac were synced with Outlook). If no - please, enable it (got to Outlook preferences).
    4. Once all this done, data will be automatically synced betwen Outlook and iCloud (latter via SyncMate). The trick of SyncMate is that data is physically located on your Mac (thus ensuring it will be synced with other devices and accounts SyncMate supports, as I said before, SyncMate works with data which is located on Mac), but you still can have it in iCloud (sync will be performed via SyncMate, no need to enable iCloud itself).
    5. And of course, you will be able to sync your iPhone contacts with your Mac (SyncMate supports sync with iPhones also). These contacts will be also synced to Outlook.

  • Address book and calendar sync from Mac to Google

    Hi,
I have a HTC Desire phone and wish to sync my Contacts and Calendar items to it via Google.
I have pulled my Address Book and Calendar from my old p1i phone on to my old Power Book and exported these. I have then imported these onto my Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard.
I now want to sync these up to a Google account.
In my address I have ny contacts and also my girlfriend's. I wish to sync only my Contacts up to Google. Is this possible?
I have tried configuring iCal to sync with Google via calDAV but I am not seeing my Calendar entries in Google (or a way of doing a manual sync from Mac -> Google)
Apologies if these questions have been asked and answered previuosly.
