hello and thankyou for whoever is reading this for taking the
time! Im makinga band
web site and I made flash buttons in flash 8(not the
flash buttons in dreaweaver). now I need to add a link to each
button. How can I do this. I see that a lot of band pages are made
like this. take a look at www.relientk.com. Thats what im trying to
make. Can any one help me with Ho I could link a flash file????

Linking Flash Files?

I am trying to separate my 'scenes' into individual Flash
files instead and need to link them together (using a menu, I need
to have each module title go to that specific file). How do I do

Flashing file icon -HELP!

This morning my IMAC 24 Mid 2007 model was having a number of kernel attacks, I tunred it off and now all I get is either a grey screen, blue screen or a flashing file icon against a white background - what should I do to fix this?

Huge Flash File Problem HELP!

Hi,
I am making a flash animation with imports from illustrator,
using copy and paste mainly, the resolution of the animation is
1280 x 1024. The fla file has crawled to 110MB and is seriously
killing my computer when i trya nd work on it. It takes 25 minutes
to save! I need the final animation to run full screen a t that
resolution. Should I be making it at that resolution
is this the problem?

Is there some way to link the downloaded PDF manual directly to the program so that it doesn't always try to connect to web?

Thanks for that. I usually find an even better way is just to store the PDF files in a folder. Then you create a shortcut to the folder with all of your maunuals .Then then I have to see one I click on the PDF reader & it opens up.
The big advantage of going this route is that you can search the manuals complete text. I find that many or rather most programs from all the biggest companies provide you with so called help that's more trouble that there worth.
What's the point of entering a search request only to be presented with a list of pages of articles that you then have to open one at a time to even find the words you were looking for. Often the word you are looking for doesn't even appear on there list of helpfull tips' even thought it is in the manual.

Username And External Files plz help!

Hope someone can help me out with this even pointing into the right direction will be very helpful.
I kind of understand how to create a basic username and password 'menu' in flash.

But I would like to create a menu where a user can create a new username with then will be added to an exteral file ( data base I guess).
From there on anything the user does is remembered on that name. And if that user exits the program and loads it again the user's stats are loaded.
If you have any info on this please let me know, where lost here.

u can not write anything from flash in text file . What u can write through flash is shared object. u can store ur user name and password in shared oject and then get and set those value same u can achive through javascirpt cookies also
But both option would be system specific

Linked excel file problem - Help needed

I have 2 excel files in the same directory in Content Services. The "destination" file has a link in one of its cells to a cell in the "source" file. I want to be able to open the "destination" file and update the data if any changes have been made to the "source" file.
My problem is when I try to do this i get an error that says "This workbook contains one or more links that cannot be updated" and two options.
1) To change the source of links, or attempt to update values again, click Edit Links.
2) To open the workbook as is, click Continue.
If I click Edit Links I am then presented with a screen where I can open the "source" file. When I try to do this though I am given a login screen. Supplying a valid Content Services username and password doesn't work and I cannot open the file.
Can anyone tell me how I can open the "destination" file without having to open every "source" file? I don't want to open the "source" files because there could be dozens of "source" files for one "destination" file.

setw is the equivalent of the field width value in printf. In your code, the printf version would look like:

I do think it is a good idea to verify your code on the platform it will be tested against. That means Visual Studio. However, you don't want to use Visual Studio. As you have found out, it gets people into too many bad habits. Linux is much the same way. Both development platforms are designed to build anything, whether or not it is syntactically correct. Both GNU and Microsoft have a long history of changing the language standards just to suit themselves.
I don't know what level you are in the class, but I have a few tips for you. I'll phrase them so that they answers are a good exercise for the student
* Look into const-correctness.
* You don't need to compare a bool to 1. You can just use bool. Plus, any integer or pointer type has an implicit cast to bool.
* Don't reuse your CURSOR pointer as a temporary index. Create a new pointer inside the for loop.
* In C++, a struct is the same thing as a class, with all of its members public by default. You can create constructors and member functions in a struct.
* Optimize your function arguments. Pass by const reference instead of by copy. You will need to use pass by copy at a later date, but don't worry about that now.
* Look into initializer lists.
* In C++ NULL and 0 are always the same.
* Return the result of an expression instead of true or false. Technically this isn't officially Return Value Optimization, but it is a good habit.
Of course, get it running first, then make it fancy.

Problems opening flash file- Please Help!!

I have Flash CS4. I'm having problems opening a specific file. Its about 239,000 KB. Sometimes it opens partially, I can open movie clips and scrub through the time line and see my keyframes. The problem is that it wont display my movie clip keyframes in the viewing window. The flash dialog giving you options to open previous files is there instead. It doesnt go away. My friend can open the exact same file on his computer in Flash just fine (he has the same computer as me) Also, I have hardware acceleration settings turned to 'NONE'. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

hardware acceleration should be on and you might want to re-install Flash CS4 again.

Can't open my flash file- please help!!

Hi! I just taught myself Adobe Flash and created a very intricate file with lots of moving parts. I saved it and then went to improve it. Of course it was taking forever so I got up from the computer to let it do its thing and I accidently knocked out my external harddrive. A lil freaked out I exited out of adobe flash- plugged it back in and went to open my file. However, it wont open now! I've saved it a dozen times after I added each new part but I have nothing now! Is there a way to get it to open? The message that comes up simply says failed to open document.

Hi,
This error normally pops up if a fla is tried to open in a lower version IDE.
For eg. a CS4 fla is tried to open in CS3.
But in your case its the CS3 only.
So I feel the file some how got corrupted.

Can't export BIAR file - plz help

Hi all,
I want to export a BIAR file from my local pc to another server which is out of this country. I can export that BIAR file from my pc to any other pc of same LAN.
The fact is... while using import wizard, I can select BIAR file of my pc and also can login their server but I don't get any list of users or folders of that server available.
For some folder, I can Import the corresponding BIAR file but reports of that folder doesn't get imported at that time.
Can anyone give me a clue, what can be the reason of this problem??

When you log on to the external system is it taking a log time? If so it might be that the IFRS or OFRS are exceding the max idle time (defaults to 10 minutes)
I am assuming that you are doing this under an admin account, if not the problem might be permission based.
Have you tried running the import wizard on the destination server installation, copying the BIAR file to there first?
Finally, I had a issue, when the import wizard just hung when my client installation was on one service pack behind the server - so if there are differences it could be related to that.

Files and Streams java -- Sequential access file-- Plz help me

I am able to add records in sequential file and then also I am able to display each record sequentially.
But after closing the file if I open the file for adding records, the newly added records are not being displayed while clicking the "next" button to read them.
How to bring the pointer to end of records in sequential file , so that when I stat adding records after opening an existing file, they should be added successively after the last record in that file.

You can't append multiple ObjectOutputStreams to the same file unless you know where one ends and the other starts and you use a new ObjectInputStream at each join. And even that mightn't work because of buffering. Keep the file open or start a new file.
And I wouldn't call the file 'file.txt', it isn't a text file.
