Linking HP Pavilion laptop and HP data projector

The HP Pavilion laptop plays a DVD complete with sound. However. when the laptop is linked to a HP data projector via HDMI, the screen size is reduced, and sound does not work when playing the DVD.
Another HP Pavilion laptop does not have the same problem.
Presumably I need to change some setting. Advice needed!

Hi @richardennals ,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you have a great experience with us.
I see that you are having a problem connecting your Pavilion to a projector. The reason it works for one and not the other could be the Chrome OS vs the Windows OS. Let me start by getting your product number so I know what we are working with, as a there are a few models in that series.

Hello @Patpar , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're experiencing scan issues.  I would like to help!
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • FAX Sending - Link between SOST items and PO Data

    Hi all,
We have a message type to send FAX to the vendors.
    This is tracked in SOST.
There are some FAXes which get failed and are to be tracked individually in SOST.
We need to make a report which gets all the failed PO #s.
We are not able to arrive at the db link between the items in SOST and the PO data.
Can anyone of you let us know how this can be done ?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the Replies Ramani and Monika...
I alraedy have a relation between the Accounting Doc and Billing Doc (VBRP-vbeln to BSEG-belnr).
what I am looking for is the Item wise one to one mapping.
i.e  Assume that we have 4 items in VBRP under one Billing Doc....
2 items have Similar Materials (Assume XYZ) and same Profit center (eq..MNO123)
and the Other 2 items have material (ABC) and Profit center (PQR6789).
Now these appear in Bseg as only 2 items, all the items with similar materials, profit center etc will be clubbed in Bseg (While Accounting). I.e In BSEG you will only find 2 entries for the above 4 items of VBRP.
I need to divide the data that I am getting from BSEG exactly as they are in VBRP.
Pls suggest if you know of any table where I can find this.....If not a table.., then a way to figure out the division of these BSEG items exactly as the VBRP items.

  • I just bought a HP Pavilion laptop and it's already falling apart, PLEASE HELP!!

    Hi,
Im a recent grad out of uni and I thought that I'd get a laptop for work, leisure and CAD work. Also since I am moving out of home I can do video chat with my parents. So after deciding between the HP, Asus and Toshiba I conclude that HP is best value for money. At a cool $1575 AUD it certainly did not come cheap and left a hole in my wallet. It's a HP Pavilion dv6-3042tx.
So now just a few days after purchase (I bought it this Monday )it's already showing signs of break down.
    1) When I first got it a few days back the DVD/BluRay drive would eject when I push the button, but now it doesn't and it only makes a 'click' noise but still stays inside. I have to manually insert a paper click thru the hole to manually eject it - every single time. What happened here?? I call HP 'Customer Care,' the Indian call center lady said a technician will call me in 1-2hrs. It has already been more than 5.5 hours and no phone call.
    2) Also coincidently on the same day (today, right now as I type) I see purple squares on the screen. They move and leave purple shaded square artifacts on the screen. The card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 5650HD.
I am devastated, I spent so much money and this is "Thank You" I get from HP. The lady on the call center (Christine) was not helpful either.
I am willing to forget all of the annoyance at this situation if I could please get solutions for this. Even an answer from a HP representative and advice on what I can do  I would appreciate very much.
    Thanks!
PS: At this point I would like to add that I did not drop the laptop or bumped in any way. In fact it is on the same table and the same location as it was when I first booted it up. Now a few days later (I did not touch it in between. This is the 2nd time I am using the laptop having restarted it already several times and running a system restore to no avail), all of this happens.
EDIT: I would like to add that the purple squares issue does NOT happen all the time. Just sometimes. For instance as I type right now for this edit there are no purple squares at all when the windows are moved.

Your VGA is definitely corrupted and it is irreparable, so just make the HP to change your vga.
Also next time read my post on how to keep your laptop cool to avoid same issues again.
I assume your laptop was pretty hot during some time and that's the result you've got.

  • HP Pavilion laptop and HP B109n-z all in one printer

Okay, so at the moment I feel like chucking the whole lot in the skip!
A couple of months ago I had to buy a new laptop which has windows 8.1 installed.  I already had my HP printer which did scan and copying all well - no problems in the 5 years I have had it.
I am unable to install the full drivers onto my new laptop which will enable me to scan.  I also tried to scan through webscan but whilst it will preview and scan, the scanned document doesnt come onto another brower.  Tried windows fax and scan but it says no scanner is detected.
    My printer prints okay.
This is driving me nuts - I am self employed and am spending hours trying to get this sorted.  I run my internet through Firefox.

  • Installed windows 10 on my pavilion laptop and after startup the screen starts flashing

Laptop was working perfectly fine until I downloaded WINDOWS10. Now it will startup to the home screen, but as soon as I touch a button, it starts flashing on and off until I crash it off with the power button. Same thing happens every time! Is it the new os or do I have a driver problem or a screen problem? It does not flashnwhen I start it in diagnostic mode.

"... I already deleted the software off the laptop, but that hasn't seem to fix the issue."
I doubt that the software was the issue. So why not tell us what model MBP you have and how much free space is on the hard drive. When was the last time you booted to the OS installer disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Utility? BTW, you may not need their software to download pictures to your Mac. Launch iPhoto and from the menu: iPhoto>Preferences>General: Connecting Camera Opens.....

  • Apple VGA Adapter, with iPad 1, OS 4.3 upgrade and Data Projector?

    Hi,
Our school is testing a number of iPads, and I will be buying a iPad 2 on the 25th March. I would like to test my iPad 1 with the Apple VGA Adapter and my data projector in my classroom. (All Apps)
In the past the Apple VGA adapter did not mirror the apps, however the Apple site now has a link to mirror technology with the VGA Adapter.
I could buy the Apple Digital AV Adaptor (HDMI) but would then need to find a HDMI to VGA convertor to connect to my data projector.
I would love to show my students Garage Band on my projector, but need the correct cables.

    Overview: http://store.apple.com/au/product/IPADVGAADP?mco=MTc4MzkwOTA
Use the Apple VGA Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad 2 screen — apps, presentations, websites, and more — on your VGA-equipped TV, display, projector or other compatible display in up to 1080p HD.
Watch slideshows and video on the big screen in up to 720p by connecting your iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch (4th generation) to a television, projector, or other VGA-compatible display.
The Apple VGA Adapter connects to your iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad Dock or Universal Dock via the dock connector and to your projector or display using the VGA adapter.

I know this thread isnt that recent but the answer can be found when you look at the VGA adapter product page mention in an earlier post:
"The Apple VGA Adapter mirrors exactly what you see on iPad 2 so that everyone in the room can enjoy it.
The Apple VGA Adapter supports video out (only) for iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch (4th generation)."
So there you have it - only video out is supported on the original iPad / iPhone 4 / iPad Touch.

  • Setting a fixed desktop background for ANY data projector

Any ideas on how I may set the desktop of ANY randomly selected and attached data projector (or external monitor/HDTV) to a specific image (containing my my corporate logo) without resorting to turning on mirroring to display the main desktop on my MBP?
I run strategy workshops for my clients at venues ranging from client boardrooms to hotels and convention centers.  In each instance, I am provided a data projector which I simply connect to my MBPT, fire up Keynote and it's show time!  Never had a failure to present.
However, in the odd moment when I am doing things at the desktop level, I want the image displayed on the projected screen the audience sees to be that of my corporate logo.  They do not need to see what I am doing on my MacBook.
So how can I set a default image to be used for any attached display device ONCE as a single setting for all future (unknown and randomly selected) data projectors that may get attached to my MBP?
Currently, on every occasion, I have to remember to get the pointer way across to the destop of the attached projector then right-click and manually “Change Destop Background...” etc.  It is just one niggle I would like to take out of my ‘seting up for showtime’ routine.

    Hi coocooforcocoapuffs
I am hoping there is a way around this...
Otherwise this still remains as two steps on my 'Presentation Check-list' which I would rather see changed from:
Select “Change Destop Background...” on presentation screen and set to mylogoimage.jpg
Ensure mylogoimage.jpg is displayed on screen - fix if not
    To:
Ensure mylogoimage.jpg is displayed on screen - fix if not
It would just take one more thing off the critical path at the very moment when time is of the essence.
Isn’t there a plist or something I can set?

  • Keyboard frustrations laptop and desktop

    06-16-2011 11:29 AM
I have a pavilion laptop and I just purchased a new hp desktop with keyboard number KU0841. I have searched this site and seen that there are many frustrated users of the new keyboards. Where can we get a manual? I have had so many problems and wasted so much time trying to get numbers or letters or special symbols that I am ready to take BOTH systems back!

    @ curvesvc
    > keyboard number KU0841
Where are you seeing that code?
Also, besides the physical keyboard you need to consider the keyboard layouts that you have enabled via Keyboards and Languages  (control.exe  intl.cpl,,2)
    > wasted so much time trying to get numbers or letters or special symbols
Give some examples.   FWIW when there was no obvious keystroke for something I would try using either the OnScreen Keyboard (osk.exe) or CharMap (charmap.exe).
BTW  I sympathize with your comment about having difficulty finding an explicit description of your machine's specific keyboard layout.  E.g. the HP Support Assistant  User Guides  is just showing me a generic keyboard description.   Another problem doing that is that the HPDocViewer.exe that is used that way can't even Zoom in order to try to decipher what the keyboard image might help with.  It is possible via right-click, Properties to find out that the file is a local HTML file and display that with IE which then can Zoom In on the image but the best alternative is to find the same document online as a PDF file which then opens in Acrobat Reader and has an even better Zoom.   Still it is only a generic keyboard description and not a very good representation of my keyboard, complicated further in my case because my keyboard is coded for bilingual use, which makes it generally hard to read and makes a clear zoomable version even more desirable.

  • Hard Drive Failure on HP DV 6000 Pavilion laptop (dv6108nr) with Windows-XPsp3 OS - Need Data Recov

Hard Drive Failure on HP DV 6000 Pavilion laptop - Need Data Recovery Help
HP Pavilion DV 6108 NR, RG365UA, purchased in late 2006 at Best Buy, with Windows XP, upgraded to Service Pack 3. It has a Fujitsu hard disk, 60 gigabyte, partitioned into C: and a Recovery D:.
Windows tries to boot up, but goes to blue screen with the message: "Unmountable Boot Volume" for one second, then just keeps recycling until I force a shutdown.
BIOS Phoenix, hard drive test result: " #1-08 Fail "
I ran a disk analysis/recovery program on the Cdrive and it seemed to show the directory structure intact, and it was able to recover some files. I was using the free one from Seagate (which only recovers small files). The second pass didn't run so well, and during the third run the program said I should not proceed further, and I should contact a professional disk recovery company.
However, the D drive seems to be intact, so, I wonder if the disk is corrupted or just some aspect of the logical C drive is bad. Or does the disk have a mechanical failure, in which case, is a recovery disk even helpful at all?
How can I get the D: to run the recovery software on it? The recovery disks, made by Best Buy, only proceed to the R / F / Q option screen, and when I press R, I get a blue screen every time.
Tapping the F10 key during startup gets me nowhere. Ditto the F11 key.
I dont care about the hard disk; it is the data (files, docs, images, etc) that I want.
I contacted HP to order recovery disks but they are no longer available for my computer. (But see below, "UPDATE")
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Recovery Kit 435422-001 For HP Model Number dv6108nr
    Price: $27.00
Recovery Kit Set (An Entire Image of the Computer hard drive when the computer was new)
But I wonder how useful it would be. Early XP , no doubt. And if my hard disk problem is a mechanical fault, would any recovery disk even work? The disks made by Best Buy when I bought mine new in 2006 don't do anything more than go to the R /F/ Q screen and then my computer goes to a blank blue screen when I press R (to recover the OS and apps and data files). And, as I wrote, it is the data that I want, not the disk drive.
Any help here would also be appreciated!
    Jon

    Hi @goshenguy
Thank you for your inquiry, I am happy to help.
I grasp you tested the hard drive from the bios and it failed.  This tests the physical aspcects of the hard drive and when it fails it does require replacement.  You were able to retrieve some of your files using recovery software but not all.
Your recovery partition is still intact and when you try to do a recovery with the disks from Best Buy you do not get past these options R / F / Q  but will not proceed.
Here is a link to Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows XP, 2006 or Later) that may assist you in performing a recovery.
Here is a link to the Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion dv6000 Notebook PC. Please note chapter 3 page 42 for a replacement hard drive part number.
    HP Parts, HP Replacement Parts
If you are still unable to do the recovery, you could try contacting Best Buy for assistance with the recovery kit they provide.
I don't know if it is possible, but you may want to check cloning software to see if you could clone the D partion to the new drive or connect both drives and  try a drive to drive copy of the D partition.
If you were able to successfully put the D partition on a new hard drive you should be able to do a recovery from the  D partition  to take it back to factory.
If none of the above has allowed you to successfully do a recovery, I suggest contacting Best Buy to see it they have  options other then purchasing  a  third party recovery kit.
    Good Luck!

  • I just had to have my toshiba laptop hard drive replaced and I am unable to move my itunes library from my ipad back to the laptop.  It says it is linked to another library  and I can only transfer purchased music etc and not the rest of the library.Help!

I have just had my Toshiba laptop hard drive replaced. This has resulted in all previous content held on the laptop to be lost.   I wanted to try and transfer my music library from my ipad to the laptop, but it will not allow me to do so.  The message is that the ipad is linked to another computer and it will only allow the transfer of the items purchased on through the ipad and nothing else.  Does anyone know if the full library can be transferred back to the computer?

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.

    Hi,
Yes, it is the discs that are the problem - you will need to use good quality DVD+R or DVD-R discs.  See the section under the sub-heading 'Create a set of operating system Recovery Discs' on the link below.

Hi, ok so at my old job i got given a laptop and i synced my iPhone to that laptop using iCloud, now i have left that job and i have bought my own macbook. I just linked my iPhone to my new macbook via iCloud and now pictures from my old work colleges that are obviously using that laptop have popped up on my new laptop, does that mean all my pictures in the last 3 months have been loa
ding onto that old work laptop as well as my new one??!!! if so how do i delete my pictures from the past 3 months off that old work macbook? HELP!!

If they are photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll, then delete them from photo stream.  That will delete them from photo stream in iCloud and on any other devices/computers.  Of couse it won't delete them if they have already been moved out of the photo stream album download folder on the work computer.
Then change your iCloud password so the old work computer no longer has access to your iCloud data or photo stream.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.
