Linking iViews

I know this is probably a stupid question, but for some reason it's stumping me. I have a par project and have created multiple portal components inside it. The pages are simple and I just want to hyperlink navigate between the pages with as little scripting/coding as possible. Can someone tell me the easiest way to do this?
I have created iviews for all of the various components and have tried linking straight to the iview using ?NavigationTarget=portal_content/<foldername>/<role>/<iview> but that doesn't give the behavior I need as I just want simple navigation inside of a single project.

Hi Toby,
1) Try to implemnt the concept Workset mapping iview. This might be a similar thing to your requirement.
2) Otherwise, is it not possible for you to create a Webdynpro Java iViews? Because, most of the times you just Drag and Drop instead of coding in webdynpro java. For linking iviews you can use the out-bound and in-bound plugs and link the plugs with Navigation link. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any issues.

How to remove bullets and spacing for url links in the Related Links iview?

I tried to look for a property that I can edit the look-n-feel of the url links in the Related Link iView using "Theme Editor".
All I need is to remove the bullets and increase some vertical spacing between the links.
Currently, it looks like this:
URL iView A
URL Iview B
I go through the whole section of Related Links properties, none of them seems to do what I want.
Here are the list of properties in Related Link section (of Navigation Panel):
Link Color
Text Decoration of Link
Hover Color
Text Decoration of Hovered Link
Initially, I thought "Text Decoration of Link" should be the right property I should look at. But there are a drop-down with 5 options: None, Underline, Blinking, Overline and Line-Through, which really can't achieve what I want.

I checked the Related iView properties (URL Template), I don't see what layoutset it is really using. I am not sure, is that a layout set apply to the Related Link Iview?
For the regular KM iView, I will see what Layout Set I want to apply, then I can go and change the properties (of layout coontroller, collection renderer & resource renderer)you mentioned. But for this Related Link iView, I really don't know. I guess it may be in the code itself.
If there is a layout set for Related Link iView (or the place to apply layout set to it), can you point to me which one is that? (I did a search through the layout set names, I only find the AppQuicklinkExplorer (I used this for Dynamic Nav. Link iView before), if I can aply this layout set to Related Link iView, my problem will be solved.)

How to display related links iview in content area?

I have created Related links, but they are opening in a separate windows even though I have set the attribute of the iviews to "open in portal content area".
Please let me know how I can display the iviews of the Related links in the content area.

Hello Ashwini,
I don't think you have changed the property at the right place.
Open the iview for which related link is added. Now from the drop down box at the top right select Related Link. The related link editor will open which will show the related link iview. Select the iview and click the EDIT button at the bottom. The related link iview will open. Now Change the "Launch in new WIndow" property.
When you add an iview as reletd link to some other iview, a delta link is created and added to the iview.
This will solve ur problem.

Create a document link iview

Hello,
Can anybody please tell me about how to create a km document 'link' iview ?
I mean i want to create a document iview that can be link to a url, but this is not a url iview.
In this case, i will create a document iview that show a .jpg file, and it will open a certain url if we clicked.

How to find the Delta Linked iView's Origin ?

We found some new Delta Linked iViews in the Workset, but these iViews are not available in the Portal Content under the mentioned Folder. How do we find the origin of that iView ?

Please follow these,
Content Admin -> Open your Workset.
Now your workset will display names of the iView that assiged to that workset.
If the iview is copied without delta link means that will mentioned as<b> (changed)</b> near by the iView Name.
   Example: Content Admin -> Open your Workset Object
         <MyWorkSet>
> MyiView1
> MyiView2(changed)    [This means this iView copied w.o Deltalink)
> MyiView3
Here MyiView1,MyiView3 are deltalinked iViews.

Link iview - organise entries

Hello,
I have created a km link iview and it's working fine. However I need to remove the 'organize entries' option that appears on it. I know the option to remove is in the layout set but I can't find it when I open the set ! Any clues please.

Hi Phil,
Try to restrict permissions for the "EveryOne" group. Just give the "EveryOne"group only Read permissions to the KM folder where your Links are stored.

Link iView Name to URL property in EP5 SP6

Hi All,
I am having a problem with the Link iView Name to URL property in EP5 SP6. In our portal all the iviews are having help links added to the title of the iview using the "Link iView Name to URL" property. The iview is a Standard.URLComponent which has a link to a webdynpro component. This url link works in EP5 SP4 environment but its not working in the EP5 SP6 environment. It works for all other iviews in both environments.
Can anybody tell me why this is happening or it does not work for an iview pointing to a webdynpro component?

Translation of standard SAP iviews such as the related links iviews

Hi,
does anyone know how to translate he default iviews such as the related links, dynamic navigation, drag 'n relate targets? These iviews do not exist in the PCD. They are available only in the Inner Page on the Default Framework Page as a copy of the com.sap.portal.navigation.targets (Drag 'n Relate) iview.
But I cannot translate the text "Related Links" using the Content Translation or via the PCD. Where are these translations stored and how do I change them?

Linking iview to iview

Hi
We have three iviews we have the requirement to link those iviews
1) We have a button in one iview. after clicking that iview a Bex Report will appear which is created through BW Report iView.
2) and we are chaching the user information in other iview after the BW Report iView is peformed
Now we want to link three iViews one after the other
Can any one can help me in which way can we perfom this links. And Secondly how to capture the data of the user in ivew, are there any API's to perform the link between the iview's

I know u tried to explain ur situation but itz not clear(atleast to me).
Iam sure u have no problems in opening a new window with BEx report upon clicking the button.
You can use EPCF's Databag API to store information and read it later(Sort of cache/cookie).
If u can, try explaning more with an example..Hope it helps.

Hi,
Its very easy.
Step1) Go to content admin -> pcd content -> Create a folder in pcd content.
In that folder create an iview. you will get so many iview templates -> select your desired template iview.
(If you still confused, search in the sdn for creating an iview in pcd content).
After creating that iview, open the same iview as object. check the quick link property. intially it will be blank. set the quick link property as iview1(as an example).
Step2) go to content admin->km content and to go to ur desired folder, say documents.
Create a folder abc and inthat create an external link iview1. give the url as /irj/portal/iview1.
Step3) create a KM Navigational iview(iview2) and open as object. set the property 'path to document' as /documents/abc.
Preview that iview2 . you will get an hyper link iview1. on clickink that iview1 details will display.
Search in the SDN for creating KM navigational iview or any other iview.

Hi Anil,
If you want to transfer data between the two iviews then follow these steps:
1.> Go to the form of the first iview.Drag output port and create signal out with proper name.Click the link created in between the signal out and the form and give a proper name(event name). This name you have to mentioned in the button action property.Go to the form and click the button property.Then in action tab you can mentioned the action as custom action.
2.> Configure the signal out means select the fields which you want to transfer to the other iview.
3.> Then go to the other iview and drill down in that.
4.> create a form and drag input port of it and create a signal in and give the same name as you have mentioned in the signal out.
5.> configure the signal in. And give all the fields which you have mentioned in the signal out.(it is case sensitive, so better give the correct names)
6.> Double click the form and select all the fields which you want to be visible on the form.
7.> just save nad deploy the model and you can transfer data between the two iviews.
I hope this will help you. This scenario contains two iviews each one with a form.

Open iView in new Window

Hi
I have added a new link in the xRPM screen from 'SPRO'. I want an iview to be opened in a new portal window on clicking this link. I have tried changing the property of view to ' Launch in a Separate Window' but it didnt work.
Page ID in SPRO : pcd:portal_content/View/view1.
Is there any way that i can open a new portal window on clicking this link.

How can i add a new link to Portal favorites?

Hi,
I have created a portal application and configured it to a porta frame work page byy adding iViews and portal pages.
I would like to display an iView as a link in the portal favorites. I have added it to portal favorites as related link. But nothing is displayed in the portal favorites when i logged in as application user.
How can i add a link to the created iView just like the "DeveloperContent" link shown in portal favorites when we login as portal administrator?

Hi Sudheesh,
The Related Links option is for Content Administrators to add links that they think will be useful for a certain page or iView...an end user can't add their own links to the Related Links iView. Also, you don't need Knowledge Management installed in the Portal for the Related Links iView to work. Also, Related Links will be available only on the pages/iViews that the Content Administrator has created them.

Portal Favorites is a nice option for end users to decide which iViews or pages they would like to be available from every Portal page.
To open new iViews/pages in a new window, rather than in the current Content Area, adjust the Workprotect mode of the portal (either the user can do it for their preference or the Administrator can do it for everyone):

Item Details iView on Open/Object crashes with Portal Runtime Error

Hi there,
I am getting a crash attempting to Open/Object on the Vendor / Item Details object or a delta linked iView or a full copy iView from that same source. I can get data from the Repository with other iViews, ... But I can't get this particular iView to work.

Linking between views!!

Hi
I'm new to EP, I have an application which on clicking of links in one iView, different iViews should be opened in Content Area.
I have created the links iView containing:
1.open PDF file.
2.open iView (which is webpage containing some images and some input fields)
On click of this i should be able to open them in content area or full window.
how I'm gonna achieve this ?? can some one tell me the step by step procedure for this.
