Linking NeoSpeech Voices and Captivate 6...

Hello,
  I recently installed Captivate 6 and NeoSpeech Voices 6 on my home computer. I can open and work with Captivate 6, and I get the message that the Neo Voices was also correctly installed.  Unfortunately, when I go under Speech Management, Microsoft Anna is the only voice available to me. It also says at the bottom of Speech Management that I have not downloaded and installed NeoSpeech Voices, although I have. I actually used that link to do so. 
Do I have to do something to "link" the two programs so that the additional voices are available to me?

I don’t have an AppData folder after my user name. I uninstalled Captivate last night including preferences so, if possible, can you give me the installation and setup steps from scratch.

  • NeoSpeech voices in Captivate - need help installing

    I have recently purchased Captivate 7. I have downloaded each of the items on the downloads page and 'extracted' them as indicated by the prompts. I have tried to install the NeoSpeech voices again and again, without success. These are all the folders and files I now have:
    Adobe Captivate 7
    Adobe eLearning Assets
    Cp7_win_assets_installer
    Cp7_win64_voices_installer
    NeoSpeech Voices (64 Bit)
    Captivate_7_x64_Neo_Content_LS21.7z (and 'application' by the same file name)
    Please tell me what I need to do to to be able to use the NeoSpeech voices. At the moment, only a Microsoft voice is available in the TTS function.

    Captivate 7 works the same way. However, if you are on 64-bit system and use NeoSpeech user dictionary, you should be aware of one bug.
    When you run UserDicEng_<VoiceArtist>, it crashes with an error message. The workaround for that can be found in:

    To the best of my knowledge, Captivate 7 doesn't support any other voices other than NeoSpeech.

  • Neospeech voices download--Captivate 4 purchased version

    Hi,
    I purchased Captivate 4 last year, and now I have the need to use the text-to-speech feature. But it says I need to download the voices. Where on your website is this link? I've seen numerous outdated references to a link that USED to be on the main captivate product page, but is no longer there. This is getting very frustrating. Will someone please let me know where can I download this functionality?

    Good news and bad news here. First, the good news! I found the install file for 4 on my other PC. Now the bad. I zipped it and attempted to upload to Acrobat.com but they have a 100 meg size limit.
    I looked at other sites such as TransferBigFiles.com and YouSendIt and they too have 100 megs limit.
    The file is about 450 megs. If you can provide me with an FTP location and needed creds I'll be happy to try FTP'ing the file to you. As I imagine that you wouldn't want this information out where John Q. Public can view it, you may send to my E-Mail address: rstone75 (at) kc (dot) rr (dot) com

  • How to install neospeech voices in Captivate 8 ?

    Hi,
    I have downloaded the neospeech installer but whenever I am trying to rn the installer I am getting a message that 'Administrator privileges are required to install. Please login as administrator". Will I have to create an administrator login for this ? Please help!!

    Indeed, as Sreekanth points out, you need full administration rights for any installation. But 'Run as Administrator' for Captivate only needs limited rights for Captivate, which is not full administrator rights. Just wanted to clarify.

  • Captivate 6 not picking up NeoSpeech voices

    I followed the instrctions to download Neospeech voices and performed the install and it reported success but Captivate only shows Microsoft Anna.
    I can see voices Bridget, Chloe, Julie, Kate and Paul are in folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 (32 Bit)\VT so how do I get Captivate to link them?

As per you notes, it seems you have Windows 7 If you don't have any specfiic settings or Configuration for you projects, then follow these steps : 1) Close Adobe Captivate 62) Go to this location : C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Adobe3) Rename "Captivate 6.0" folder to "1234"4) Launch Adobe Captivate 6 and check do you see all the voices under Speech Management.   • NeoSpeech Voice 6 not installing

    Can anyone help me? I've been trying to install the neospeech voices for Captivate 6, but I keep getting the error "Update Failed. Updates could not be applied. Please contact you Administrator, if you wish to apply updaes on you machine. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator."
    This is weird since I have Aministrator rights. I right clicked on the installer an ran it in Administrator mode. Still no luck. I had our IT team log on to my machine as administrator and try to install it, still no luck. Can anyone help?
    I have Windows 7 32 bit. I am installing NeoSpeech 6 32 bit.

    Hi Everyone 
    Close Captivate 6
    Open the location mentioned below (Win XP)
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0
    There will be a AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat. Open this .dat file in notepad and then change the value from 1 to 0. Save
    Then run the Installer (VoiceInstaller.exe) once again. You will be good to go

  • I am trying to create a package for Captivate 8 that includes NeoSpeech voices

    I am packaging Captivate 8 using Creative Cloud packager.  I need to add the NeoSpeech voices to the package.  I run the packager to build the package with the msi using our enterprise license which gives me the applications along with patches.  There is nothing for NeoSpeech though and I need to include NeoSpeech with the msi.

    In order to create msi package of Neo Speech Voices of Captivate 8,  you have to use Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition 3.1 ( AAMEE 3.1 ).

  • Captivate 4 - No Voice and loosing details

    Hello,
    I'm new on Captivate and I'm currently using a trial version to evaluate this product. Can someone please help me with the following issues:
    1. After installing captivate 4, when I click on the "Text to Speech" I get a message saying that this feature is not installed and appears an option to download voice. It redirect me to the adobe website but from there I cannot see where I should click to download and install voices.
    Note: Before Captivate 4, I tried a trial version of the captivate 5 which became only with the Microsoft Anna voice, which was not too good... I read in a couple of foruns that on captivate 5 it became with 5 voices by default Paul, Kate, Stefan, Simon, etc, but I did not find it.. so I have uninstalled it and installed captivate 4...
    2. During my recording, I noticed that part of my work was just skiped. I mean, during the recording sometimes I stop in a particular screen in order to reserve some time to add audio later, however, when I click preview the video is too quick and it looks like cut part of my video... seems that it thinks that the screen is stopped (there is no mouse movement), so it automatically cut this part from my video.... does anybody have already seen it before?

    Hi Bruno,
    Welcome to Adobe Captivate forums.
    After installing Adobe Captivate 5 the software picks up the System voices and hence you were able to see "Microsoft anna". For you to see other voices you have to install the voices.
    Notice the links to download the voices after the combo box to select the locale of Captivate you wish to download.

    Download these two voice installers and install them. This will add the voices to Captivate.

  • Installing NeoSpeech voices.  Error

    Captivate 6 -  Version 6.0.1.240.  I am unable to install NeoSpeech voices.  Error:  "Adobe Application Manager may be damaged...etc.  I have downloaded a new copy of Adobe Application Manager 7.0, but continue to get error.

    You're not trying to download NeoSpeech voices for Cp7 and install them on Cp6 are you?

  • Nextup voices with Captivate 7

    Hello,
    I have just installed the neospeech voice pack, which includes only a few voices and those too in the accented British and American English. I researched and figured that Nextup offers some voices in the Indian English accent. http://nextup.com/TextAloud/SpeechEngine/voices.html
    I am wondering if there's a way to install the nextup voices and use them with the TTS feature in Captivate 7.

    Hello,
    When you buy voices from 3rd party (Nextup), make sure you buy with Speech API.
    When you buy those voices with speech API, those voices will be automatically shown in our TTS dialog like other voices.
    Microsoft voices have speech API, that is the reason they are shown in our voices dialog.
    Note : Once they give you MSI api, just double check with them : Will it work with Adobe Captivate ?

  • Do I need to permission to publish with neospeech voices?

    Do I need permission to publish captivate material with the neospeech voices?  I work for an educational establishment.  The material will be published on an intranet only.  There will be no commercial gain.

    As far as I know, no problem. It is included in the CP-software. And this question has already been asked on this forum, no Adobe law specialist popped in to proclaim that you could not publish with those voices.

  • How to stop Link syncing voice messages?

    Is there a way to stop BB Link syncing voice messages to my PC?
    In Link, the only media I am syncing is Music and I am doing that by specifically selecting by genre. I do have Music as a genre is set to sync in that list. My voice AAC files don't appear to have any genre set so why are they being sync'd too?

    BB Link 1.2.4.27
    8310 - 9300 - currently Q10 on 10.3.1.2558 - hoping it will be bug free soon!

  • .FLV Video will not work when linked to on intranet (Captivate 5)

    I have a project with video (.FLV).
    1. Project was developed and published to a folder on the local hard drive of a PC.
    2. Project was copied to my company's intranet server.
    3. If I click on "My computer" and navigate to the network folder where the project is, the project and video work fine.
    4. If I LINK to the project (say to send the location to someone in an Outlook message) the project WILL open, but the video will not (reads "Connection Error").
    I did add the video to the library of the project.  The video file is in the same folder as the published project.
    I have worked with support over the phone and wanted to try something different before calling back.  The solution they gave me was to zip the project.  I haven't tried that because it will not be practical for my small hospital.  My users will need to be able to click on something and make it work, they may not have admin rights to the pc or the knowledge/desire to unzip a file.

    I thought I'd add a few comments in addition to Rod's good suggestions. For the benefit of others who may follow this thread in the future where their .flv is stored on a web server or MS SharePoint. I'd suggest checking with the web server administrator to assure that the server accommodates the .flv "mime type". This is often the problem when you see the "Connection Error" statement.
    This Adobe Knowledge Base article gives details to fix it.

    This can also be the case if the .flv is being delivered from SharePoint.
