Linking of cproject & project system

hi guru
Can somebody please let me know the the Configuration steps & the entire process of linking Projects created in Project Systems & cProjects? How can we view the Projects in cProjects which we create in PS and vice versa? Waiting for your reply at  earliest.

    Dear All,
                  I need inputs on how to integrate cProjects with Project Systems. Also i need information on the what are all the information we can integrate between these two.
                  One more important thing is i am seeing the Services, Details Data and Controlling links in My cProjects system. Where as i found Account Assignment, Costing links in one screenshot of Documents. And both are for cProjects 4.0. Why this difference is showing up
                  And one generic question is, what is the requirement for these kind of scenarios. And pros and Cons of both the systems.

    Thanks very much for the links. However, I've already gone through the standard documentation in SAP and they are a bit too high level/vague for me. I have considerable experience in xRPM, cProjects Suite and have good grasp of project management concepts, tool and techniques. My knowledge of PS is somewhat limited though.
    What I am specifically looking for is what type integration options and scenarios are available. For example, cProjects can have phases and tasks defined. How would these integrate with for example WBS elements and networks in PS? What are the things you would do in cProjects and not PS and vice versa? Hope my question is clearer now.
    Appreciate any further information you may have on the above.

  • CProject / Project System / Project Solution Manager

    Hi Everyone,
    I am very much new to SAP and doing my first semester in Masters of ERP (SAP). I am very much interested in project systems basically Implementation, Reporting, Time Management, Analysis etc… I wondering if any one can help me how to and where to start it’s quite confusing when these forums talk about cProject, Project Solution Manager and Project Systems please give some info like books, links or documents where i can develop my skills especially practical examples.  I really appreciate al of you guys time and patience.

    For creating project from PS to cproject use the following method
    What you can do is Create a cProjects Project usinga Badi in PS on save.
    where you can use FM BAPI_BUS2172_CREATE to create Project.
    Also when you make changes to PS project use Badi on save to transfer the changes to cProjects projects.
    You can use Function modules like:
    BAPI_BUS2172_CHANGE
    BAPI_BUS2173_CHANGE
    BAPI_BUS2174_CHANGE
    BAPI_BUS2175_CHANGE
    and so on
    vetrivelan.

  • CProject - Project System

    I've finished planning a project in cProject:
    - Cotrolling method: WBS, Auto, Task base
    - Schedule
    - Assign resource
    - a PS is created & assigned automatically
    - Status: released-transfered-assigned. (But status showed in dashboard is Released-Transfered)
    In cProject page: Accounting -> costing - calculate. cost of project is calculated correctly. But I used CJ41 to view Cost Plan. but all values are  0.
    I don't known what should I do more. please help

    Errors occurred in costing in the ERP system.
    Procedure
    Check the costing log for costing in the ERP system:
    Call costing:
    If it is preliminary costing, the hyperlink for calling the ad hoccost estimate can be found in the Costing view.
    If it is costing for an account assignment object (after transfer), the hyperlink for calling Easy Cost Planning can be found in the Services view.
    In costing, choose Revaluate All Items . The costing log is then generated with the error messages.

  • Intergation: cProject  + Earned value + Project System + Accouting

    Hi,
    I'm trying to intergrate cProject & Project System & accounting. currently I'm facing some problems:
    PS is generated automatically from cProject (Automatically, Task base, WMS, level = 99).
    I don't know how to entry actual start date for each WBS. so POC is zero. ==> BCWS, BCWP is zero too. I think actual start date have to be determined by cats or confirmation from cProject but It is not true now.
    can anybody help me?

    Dear Long
    I'm afraid that u may have to manually enter the actual start of the respective WBS element, as SAP works on the principle - actual start of the subordinate activity can be different from the actual start of the WBS Element.

    We are implementing a RPM solution in our BI 7.0 system. We have a requirement where we need to link RPM data with cProjects(Project, Task) and Projects Systems (Status, WBS Elements, so on) data.

    Check Project system tables like PROJ etc and create a View for the fields you want.
    Use this View as your datasource to extract data.

    In make-to-order production with cost management using a project, all costs and revenues relating to the make-to-order item are collected and allocated to a project in the SAP Project System. The costs are allocated to profitability analysis.
    Prerequisites
    Make-to-order production is controlled by the requirements type. The requirements type is determined on the basis of the MRP group and the strategy group in the material master record.
    Up to Release 3.0, the requirements type is determined on the basis of the item category. For this reason, special item categories are used up to Release 3.0 for controlling make-to-order production. To carry out make-to-order production for a material with cost management using the project, you must maintain the following fields in the material master:
    MRP 1
    MRP Group
    MRP 2
    Strategy Group
    Screen
    Field
    In addition, a plant must be assigned for make-to-order items in the sales order.

    SAP already has a solution PS ( Project System ) for managing the projects in an Organization.
    When there is a solution already existing then why did SAP come up with a new solution cProjects ?
    Can any help me in understanding the main differences and advantages between cProjects and PS ?

    I have copied an SAP text below which sets PS, cProjects, (x)RPM and PPM into context.
    In the ninties, the Project System was developed within SAP R/3 to provide a powerful application with full integration into logistics and financials.
    Target groups were industries such as engineering and construction, automotive, high tech or utilities with focus on project manufacturing or large maintenance projects.
    Later on, the need for more flexible and easy-to-use tools supporting the new process methodologies, phased-based approaches, quality gates, and so on, emerged. SAP developed Collaboration Projects and Collaboration Folders (cProjects Suite), which takes these new requirements into account and provides extensive features to collaborate with internal and external partners using a HTML-like interface and Web Application Server technology.
    Thus, cProjects was able to address to a broader range of industries, such as service providers, offering a high degree of visibility and flexibility to support various scenarios from product development to consulting projects. Nevertheless, cProjects is seen as a complementary product to Project System, not as ist successor!
    It always depends on the scenario that a customer wants to cover, which application is the best choice.
    As another matter of fact, combinations of both are also possible.
    In addition to this, the new generation of composite applications was born and SAP xApp for Resource and Portfolio Management provides excellent capabilities to align operational project management with strategic portfolio management.
    The latest developments bring all these three applications tighter together and offers a comprehensive solution for project and portfolio management by covering logistical, financial and human resource aspects and addressing the needs of all stakeholders throughout the entire organisation.
    However, xRPM capabilities are not only restricted to project portfolios but can be leveraged to control all kind of portfolio items.

  • ROLES OWNERSHIP in Project Systems

    We are implementing Project Systems (PS) 4.7 version.  Though, most transactions are accounting based there are several project-related transaction codes (T-Codes) that are being utilized by other business areas such as Plant Maintenance, RD&E and other business areas project managers.
    In order to have proper control over such T-Codes usage in conjunction with Roles, we need to <b>define ownership of such roles</b>.  Though Finance Department may be willing to own these roles, I will appreciate if you could enlighten us with  the (1) best practice (2) protocol as to who SHOULD OWN the ROLES?  Plant Maintenance, FI/CO and MM are some of the modules already implemented.  We also plan to implement cProject, cFolder, xRPM with virtually the same go-live date (3 months later).  Please keep our SAP environment in mind when responding to this question.  Very much appreciate your thought and response in advance.

    this walk through is targeting Visual C# project system. I need to create the Custom project system as Web project and set the start up page as index.html file. How can I achieve this?

    So you didn't even follow this walkthrough yet? If you did, how did you do it?
    I failed to create such a web project system because I finally messed up my VS experimental instance. But it's possible to create a custom web project system, by following this walkthrough. Someone else has successfully made it, check this
    link.
    The difference is that you have to use web project type instead of the console application project type. You could copy a web project's .csproj file into the VSPackage project and rename it to xxx.myproj. There's an error in the walkthrough that the AssemblyInfo.cs
    file should be put into Properties folder and set the "Build Action" property to Content, "Include in VSIX" to true.

  • WBS Elements not getting created in ECC Project System from CRM 7.0

    Dear all,
    We are trying to integrate SAP CRM 7.0 with SAP ECC-PS module. The objective is to bring in the marketing plan and elements data from the CRM system, and to create the corresponding WBS in project system. We have done most of the configuration as recommended by SAP in both the systems, and we see that the BDOCS are getting generated and sent to the ECC system. The following steps have been successfully completed:
    1.       Set up the RFC connections between the two systems
    2.       Selected the connection type as Middleware in CRM system.
    3.       Installed the cProject Add on in CRM box.
    4.       Created a project scenario (with project and network profiles) in the PS system and assigned the same in the CRM system.
    5.       The Project Scenario in PS config has the same name as the Project Type in CRM config.
    6.       Created and released the campaign ids being created in the CRM system.
    As already mentioned, we can see that the BDOCS are coming to the ECC system and are getting stored in BDOC_TRACK table. However the issue is that the corresponding WBS elements are not getting generated in the ECC system. Is there anything that that we are missing in the ECC box which would trigger the WBS element creation?
    Request you all to share your inputs which would be immensely beneficial for us in achieving this integration.

    Some inputs related to our system,
    We have upgrade from CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0 SP07 and R/3 backend system is on 4.7 SP27, earlier we have completed the upgrade on sandbox without any issues which was upgrade to CRM 7.0 SP04 but with SP07 we are facing the problem of WBS Element not getting created in R/3.

  • Asset settlement issue from Project System

    Hello everyone,
    In SAP, we have tied Project System and Fixed Asset in the sense that for each network/activity in PS we create and link an asset in Asset Accounting. In the Purchase Order, the network/activity number is assigned and all the transactions that occur through this PO (including down payment, its clearing, GR/IR)  are then settled on the specified asset when we execute settlement run at month end through CJ88.
    However, we have encountered scenarios where an asset was not timely allocated to the network/activity but the transactions were carried out through the PO. When the settlement run was executed, its impact was not visible in Asset Accounting. Later, it was realized and the asset was created and assigned. Once the asset was assigned, all the subsequent transactions through the PO were then being settled successfully. But the problem is with those transactions for which the asset number was initially not assigned.
    Is there any program that can be executed to include the impact of the previous transactions. Otherwise, suggest alternatives.

    Hi Thanks for your reply, But that is not relevent to this issue.
    The issue here is -
    First 2 documents has value date of 4th period and the amount is 8800
    Next document has value date of 5th period and the amount is 1200
    Now i am trying to settle 10000(8800+1200) with 5th period date. Its givign an error Settlement amount is greater than Available amount
    Will it solve if i settle 4th period with 8800 first and then 1200 with 5t period? or any other process?
