Linking Own Safety Camera Locations

I have the Nokia 6710 Navigator with Maps 3, however, there is no safety/speed camera information for South Africa.
On my previous 6110 with Route 66 nav software, I just imported the camera locations as POI, saved the audio files to the phone and from within the Route 66 software changed the Alarm settings for the POI category. Easy!
I've now imported the camera locations as POI to the 6710, but there is no feature in Map similar to the Alarm function in Route 66.
So how do I manually impute speed camera locations to automatically warn me when I go near?

Yes you can... that is exactly what i am doing.
With the N97 mini i do sometimes even run Sportstracker as 3rd app in parallel... but this is where the trouble then starts.
Everything works fine, except that the processor-load seems to be too high with 3 apps running, and so either maps or poialert does start to stumble in the voice or warning-ton.
But 2 apps in parallel, maps and alert, seems to work without prob...
So... not sure about your device specs, and if you have more or less processor-power.
By the way... i have the data downloaded from somewhere else, and i am quiet happy with the data....

I've seen people manually post the file (as text) that you can put in the relevant folder on your phone's data card - but is there any ongoing support for safety camera updates when using your phone's mapping / sat nav offline (ie no data usage)?

Code your own virtual camera?

So I've heard it's easy to code your own Virtual Camera. Since I am no coder has one of you lovely fellows probably coded a camera himself?
All I need is zoom and it should work with a stage size of 1024X576.
I have tried the popular vCam AS3 v1.1 link: http://bryanheisey.com/blog/?page_id=12
but it only seems to do an aspect ratio of 4:3 and not 16:9 (which is the aspect ratio you get when you use 1024X576) so everything is skewed and distorted.
Maybe there is just a little detail that needs to change in that code but I have no idea what it is.

If you look at the script you can see it's using the "camera" MovieClip's width and height for the capture area. So if you want to make it 16:9 just physically resize the camera MovieClip to 16:9 e.g. 480 x 270.

Linking to a specific location in a web page is not working

I am using anchor tags for linking to a specific location in a web page . This Page contains some images(.bmp).
Eg:

Whenever I click on the link it moves to specific location but when the page get loaded completely , top of the page is being displayed.
My question is how can I make this link redirects directly to the particular section and stays there even after the page loads fully.

When you click your link "Click here", the SharePoint web page with anchor will not work until refresh the page, if it's the case, you can add the javascript code to refresh the page automatically as workaround per the following similar post.

Unable to create a folder link to a folder located at filesystem repository

Hello,
I have created a File System repository manager which is working OK.
The problem is that when I try to created a link between a folder located inside the /documents repository to any folder located at the repository I defined I receive this error:
"The item could not be created because an exception occurred in the framework". I couldn't find any meaningful info at the defaultTrace.
Any ideas?

(a) If you are (much) below SPS18, maybe try to upgrade.
(b) Double-check the default trace. It is not impossible, but at least unprobable that there is no info inside.
(c) If (a) and (b) don't help, open an OSS message...

Safety Cameras not working on E7 with new map upda...

Since updating the maps on my Nokia E7 yesterday the Safety cameras are no longer showing. Traffic info is working fine. I restarted the phone, have the switched cameras off and back on, I have deleted the camera data file called 1.0.0.602europe.cdt in the E\Cities\diskcache\safetyspots directory on the mass memory of the phone and restarted maps to reload the file, but still not showing cameras.
They were there before the update when opening Nokia Drive
I would be obliged if anyone has any ideas.

Whilst deleting this is fine, you would need to reload previous version such as 1.0.0.579.europe.cdt and make sure that Nokia Maps application remains "Offline" otherwise it will reload 1.0.0.602.europe.cdt. This has happened before, but issue may not be rectified quite so quickly as Symbian a fairly low priority now.

Connection selection for nokia n8 camera location ...

So I am trying to use the camera location feature but my phone keeps trying to connect to contract wap.. I am on a payg plan.. why can't I pull the location under these circumstances? Ovi maps works just fine trying to locate the position under payg connectivity...
Also, the OVI store sometimes does not connect under wifi or payg internet/wap connectivity...
This whole business of network selection is absurd. It is good to provide a system-wide and/or app-specific choice if you insist on creating this distinction...

No one is prevented from using AGPS, but the fact it uses a data connection means you have to pay your Service provider for the data NOT Nokia. Having a smartphone without some sort of data plan or allowance is really restricting it's functionality and it's a really good idea to get some data allowance to get the full benefit of the phone, if not it would be far cheaper to get a cheap feature phone, a tom tom and a mid range digital camera !! I am constantly amazed that people are buying very expensive handsets and then worrying about data charges

No, but you can save a photo on FaceBook.
Try downloading/saving the video from FaceBook on your computer. If successful, after doing so you can transfer the video to your iPhone along with any photos on your computer or alone. They transfer won't be in the Camera Roll, it will be in your iPhone's Photo Library.

D-Link DCS 930L Camera Connection

I have a D-Link DCS-930L Camera that I am trying to hook up to my Verizon Fios Internet Wireless router. Can this be done? I can hook it up with the Ethernet Cable Connection, but I cannot get it hooked up wirelessly. Any help with establishing a Wireless connection? Thank you.

If your cam is showing a green light on the front, and you already have a My Dlink account you are good to go. Type http://192.168.1.1 into your browser, and if you know your router username/pass you can manage your cam from there. If you don't have the router log info it's usually admin/password (make sure you change that if that's it) When you click Access Device under the DCS-932L just enter your D-Link user/Pass to log into your cam. If you going to use an app to view you cam you just need your IP Address, and you D-Link log info.

All the information I have seen about Named Anchors deals with information that is contained on the same page. I am looking to go to a specific location on a different page. Is this possible using Named Anchors? If so, how?
Sure it is.
Place a named anchor on your destination page near the bottom of your page for this test. And name your anchor 1.
On the parent page, your link will look like this:
<a href="some_page.html#1">this is a link to named anchor 1</a>
Save both pages and test in browser.

Firewire (1394) vs camera-link digital video camera?

I would like to purchase a video imaging acquisition system. I need at
least 1k by 1k resolution, colors, 8 bits and i am working in a
Labview IMAQ environment in which I already have a huge bunch of image
analysis routines developed. Now the question is: what kind of camera
+ board should I choose? Some vendors recommend me firewire camera
(Sony DFW-SX900 for instance) and a very cheap firewire board (for
instance Matrox Meteor-2, 1394) others say the camera-link is The new
standard in the digital camera world and that I will get higher
throughput (25f/s compared to 5-10 with firewire). In my application,
I will not need more than 5f/s. Camera-link boards are more expensive
(example, Matrox or National Instruments).
The
question is then which alternative to choose? Please mention your
experience and HW/SW which you are happy with,

I would not worry so much about the interface as much as the functionality. It sounds like you know the specs you need in a camera (resolution, bit depth, frame rate). Find out what camera/interface combinations are out there that meet all your requirements, and purchase the one that is most cost effective. Don't pay extra for features that you won't use, such as the 25 f/s on the camera link board.
I would talk to Robert Eastlund at Graftek Imaging (800) 441-2118 about selecting a camera. He distributes a large variety of the cameras that work with IMAQ, and will be able to advise you on the best camera for your application.

Is it possible to create direkt links to anyone of the locations
(coerrct term; use German interface, "Standortprofile"?) I entered in
the client's properties?
To pick a location is easy. But we need temporary logins everyday in
minimum twice (beside other standard logins), so these swtitching using
the drop down menu is not so useful.
My intention is to make this procedure faster.

How do update image links to an external location?

Hi, I did a Google search and a forum search, but have not found what I'm looking for...
I am opening an Illustrator file downloaded from our company server. All images used in this Illustrator file are stored in a sub-folder on the same company server.
When I open up the Illustrator file none of the images appear because the links are broken. Rather than download all of the images used in the Illustrator file to my local machine and re-linking the images, I want to know if there's a way to relink the images to the external images location on the company server.
I hope this makes sense... Thanks in advance for your help.

I am afraid you wish cannot be fulfilled.
As you probably know, opening/saving AI files from/to to the company server is risky in terms of file corruption.

Can't Own a Camera Phone

I work in the Government sector and am not allowed to have a camera or camera phone at work. Has anyone heard if Apple has plans on manufacturing the same IPhone sans the camera? AT&T, Verizon, etc. currently do this with other popular phones models, such as some of their Blackberry's and the Palm Treo's.
If a IPhone without camera installed is not forthcoming, does anyone know if the camera can be tenporarily or permanently disabled?

It isn't AT&T or Verizon that do this - it is the cell phone manufacturer that offers a non-camera model which the cellular provider decides to carry.
No one here knows if Apple has such plans but IMO I think this is very doubtful.
I recall a thread here a while back regarding this very thing. Are you saying you would be able to present the iPhone at the security desk each day or each time when entering the building demonstrating that the camera function has been disabled - permanently or temporarily? If temporarily would be acceptable, how about a case that completely covers the small camera lens located on the back side of the iPhone?
Disabling the camera function itself would require hacking the iPhone to remove the camera operation.

Table Link between the Functional Location and work order

I am stuck in a big problem and have to find a way to list down the work order with a specific user status in the system. I am trying to link it based on the functional location as the inputs will have to be functional location and the date. Can any one guide me with the tables to link these two???

Hi,
Depending on your exact requirement, you might be able to select from view VIAUFKST_IFLOS. This would allow selection based on order, functional location and various dates. The field IPHAS will give you some system status information - value will indicate which status the order has reached. Example value = 3 indicates order is technically completed.
To get the exact system status (or user status) you need to read the JEST table. Read this table by OBJNR. The object number will have the format OR005000123456 (where 5000123456 is the order number). It will be available in the order tables.
Status values in JEST are in the internal format - example I0002 = REL. Check transaction BS23 to see the link. User status values will have the format E0002. If INACT flag is set in a jest record then that status value is not active. If you want to check for a specific status value then call function STATUS_READ.
