Linking page content to 'browser fit' image.

I have imported and image and set it as the header that fits the width of the browser with the 'browser fit' tool. However when I add content to the page below this header the height of the content changes to either really far below the header or inside the header when the browser width changes. How do I make it so the content of the web page stays a set distance below the header image on all resolutions?
I'm new to Muse so sorry if this is too simple.
Thank you.

May be easiest to understand what you're trying to achieve if you publish to a free trial site and share the URL so we can look at your page(s).

  • 2 out of 6 pages not loading browser background image

    Does anyone know why out of 6 pages on my website, only 2 of them are not loading the choosen browser background image? All other pages load them in when uploaded to the site online. They appear to be correct in iWeb before publishing.
    Once they are published, it is just white. If I select a color instead of the image, the color displays. Thoughts?

    One more question. I know that when you publish your
    site to a non .mac acct, the podcasting code needs to
    be changed. Can someone help me out with that? You
    click the subsribe button and it launches iTunes, but
    then it errors out. Thoughts?
    Your RSS URL is invalid: http://www.onetvshow.com/ONE/our%20podcast/rss.xml

    Does anyone know of a free/cheap program I can use to
    edit some of the code. I need to insert some form

  • Preview in browser doesn't load linked page images

    The site works fine when uploaded, but when I preview a page
    (it's a work in progress site so constantly adding to it), it
    previews fine, but when I click the links to other pages, it loads
    the page with all the images in position but only as missing
    images, ie. none display! Is this normal? It means I can't see it
    properly until I upload it - kinda defeats the object of a preview
    function??

    > Is this normal?
    Yes. Of course. If you are using root relative links, you
    cannot click away
    from the previewed page. The reason for this is the the
    target page tells
    the browser to fetch an image like <img
    src="/whatever/whatever.gif"... and
    the browser looks for this image at the root of the hard
    drive, not the root
    of the site.
    The solution, if you want to click to new pages, is to not
    use root relative
    links. Only use document relative ones. To read more about
    these two types
    of links, go here -

  • I need to allow my customer to edit content on an HTML page within their browser. How can it be done

    Hi,
    I have a need for my customers to be able to edit content (text and links) within a region of a page in their browser. I read about "Editable Regions" and templates but it appears that our users would need Dw installed.
    Is that true?
    If so, how do you handle security so only my customer can edit content?
    Is there another method I can use in any other of the Creative Cloud apps?
    Is there some JavaScript that can be used?
    Thanks for your help!

    When I try to access adobe from my smart phone to use my form created in formscentral I receive an error message that says "unsupported browser". There is a link to download a supported browser but the link directs me to another page that says "browser not supported at this time". This happened to me while using my IPhone 5, a friend that uses an IPhone 6, and another friend that uses a Samsung Galaxy S5. I just need for my employees to be able to access, complete and submit work orders created in formscentral from their phones. I would like to use the data collection feature in formscentral but at this point any suggestions on how to accomplish this are welcomed. Thank you

    Further info - I changed my security settings to allow apps from anywhere, and again tried to install.  I again got an error message

  • Mail won't send web page content or link

    I posted this the other day on the Safari site but should have posted here as well.
    Suddenly I am unable to forward a web page in Safari 3.12 through Mail. I get the message:
    "Safari couldn’t create an email message because it couldn’t locate an email application.
    You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send email. To do so, you might need to install Mail using the Mac OS X installation CDs."
    This occurs whether I wish to mail the link to the page or the page contents. The program has been installed since I purchased the laptop and never had a problem doing this before. Any ideas or solutions? Thanks,
    Dennis

  • Linking a page as a browser window from a drop-down menu item

    I have tried to link from a drop-down menu item to link to a small browser window instead of a full page.  I tried using the "behaviors" but I got both the regular page and the browser window.  Is there a way to make it just the browser window.
    Thanks.

    I tried that target=_Blank" but I still got the regular page plus the small browser window .  I got rid of the Behavior for now.  My aim is to would display the page in a simple 450 wide x 450 long browser window with a scroll bar with nothing else.  If you can give me a code hint to do that, It would be appreciated.  I'll figure out the rest.
    My HTML coding skills are limited, as I'm used to using FP.(FP seems to be to the Web circles as the Bard's Scottish Play is to the theatrical world)

  • Unpredictable crash: not associated with specific pages. script:chrome/global/content/bindings/browser.xml.0

    Firefox is open, website working as expected - without warning entire programme freezes. nothing moves - on occasion even my mouse pointer freezes.
    the notice that appears in a drop-down says
    script:chrome/global/content/bindings/browser.xml.0
    I wonder if this 'chrome' refers to the underlying google product [which I have not installed].
    There is absolutely no reason why this should happen - it is not any one specific site, and it happens without warning on sites I have previously visited often, without any problem.

    Thank you for this: it is teaching me a lot about Firefox. I wonder whether there are any obvious suspects among the add-ons listed below? with a Mac, I have the basic ones and nothing exotic - nothing added recently, unless it is an update within the latest issue?

    Hi,
    We are using Endeca Experience Manager with ATG 11.0. We have created application and triggered baseline update successfully, all the steps are successful.
    When we open Experience Manager it doesn't show the pages/content which will create by default with Discovery data/pages.
    Please help us on this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ravinder P

    Thanks for the reply Tim,
    We tried to access in both Chrome and FF, both doesn't show the left nav. We are suspecting that this could be issue with editors or application issue.

  • Cannot view my pages in a browser

    I starting designing a small website yesterday and I could
    preview all of the pages and their links in my local browser. Today
    however, there seems to have been a problem and the 'Internet
    Explorer cannot display the webpage' page keeps on popping up. I
    have tried to set the browser preferences to a temporary folder but
    that hasn't changed anything either. My site root folder is saved
    on my external harddrive, could this be a problem? This is my first
    attempt t setting up a site and all of the Dreamweaver help pages
    are well above my level of understanding abotu coding. Is there an
    easy way to resolve this?
    Many thanks,
    Rosie

    It might not be your only problem, but remove
    <%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="65001"%>
    from above the DOCTYPE
    Does this help?

  • Displaying linked pages in an area of the screen, using CSS?

    Imagine that I have a column on the left of the page that has a list of links to other pages.  When you click on any of those links, then to the right the linked page is shown.
    I know how to do this with frames, but I'm trying to figure this one out using CSS.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Below is a code sample that if your save and then view in a browser will show you (hopefully) what I am trying to achieve.
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <!--
    This html code creates a document with a:
        header that resizes to fit the width of the browser;
            sidebar on the left (of fixed width);
            'text' area, to the right of the sidebar, which resizes to fit the browser window width
            foot, which resizes to fit the browser window width.
    -->
    <title>Test site</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    body {
    text-align: justify;
    min-width:700px;
    color:#000; <!-- text color for the whole document -->
    div.header {
    height:4em;
    width:auto;
    border:0;
    padding:0;
    text-align:center;
    background-color:#6CF;
    div.sidebar {
    width: 15em;
    float:left;
    text-align: left;
    border-bottom:0px;
    padding-top: 1em;
    padding-right: 1em;
    padding-bottom: 1em;
    padding-left: 0em;
        background-color:#390
    div.footer {
    width:auto;
    border:0;
    padding:0;
    text-align:center;
    background-color:#6CF
    -->
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div class="header">
       header goes here
    </div>
    <div class="sidebar">
    <!--   Siderbar goes here, and will have links to other pages.
       change width (in div.sidebar, to change width). -->
       Link to page 1<br />
       Link to page 2<br />
       Link to page 3<br />
       etc...<br />
    </div>
    <!-- <br clear="left" /> stops the footer overlapping the sidebar. -->
    This is the area  where the pages linked to should be displayed.<br />
    So, if you click on the "Link to page 1" link, to the left, the contents of page 1 will be shown here.<br />
    If you click on the link to the left that says "Link to page 2" then the contents of page 2 will be shown here, etc.<br clear="left" />
    <div class="footer">
    footer goes here
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>

    Thank you Nancy!  Your solution is (I believe) 99% of the way to being exactly what I want.
    The code fragment below:
    <div class="sidebar">
    <!--   Siderbar goes here, and will have links to other pages.
       change width (in div.sidebar, to change width). -->
       <a href="../Test/About.html" target="Frame1"> About</a><p>
       <a href="../Test/FAQ.html" target="Frame1"> FAQ</a><p>
       <a href="../Test/Contact.html" target="Frame1"> Contact us</a><p>
    </div>
    <iframe name="Frame1" id="Frame1" src="../Test/About.html" height="auto" width="auto" allowtransparency="true"  border="0" margin="0" scrolling="auto"  > </iframe>
    but I want the window that contains the 'imported' code to expand to be the same height as the sidebar and wide enough to stretch to the rightmost side of the visible screen.
    I was guessing that
    height="auto" width="auto"
    would have done the trick, but it would seem not. Any ideas?

  • Web page content is squeezed onto left side of page.

    firefox worked great until I enlarged the fonts so I could read the words... sorry I am older and need larger text.
    Ever since I get weird results on some websites.
    Example: www.ibfx.com the entire right side (under the header and taps) of the page is black. can see nothing. Most details are squeezed onto the left side of the page. Links are still active but only 1/2 of the link is visible.
    The page works just fine with Inet explorer but I want to use Firefox. I have tried deleting firefox and reloading it but that did not help. Also do not want to lose my saved links and bookmarks. Can you help? My email is [email protected]
    Thanks, RobertJ.

    Hi Cor-el... Thanks for your ideas .... however I still have the problem. I removed all cookies and cleared the cache. No help. It appears that the page is crowed over to the left side, as if force-fitting into a frame.
    Also tried https but it made no apparent difference.
    Have also run Ad-Aware and MalwareBytes... no problems there.
    Ran a anti-virus check (Microsoft Essentials) that showed no problem.
    Checked out the page on another browser (Chrome) and no problem there.
    I have added a screenshot of the problem. It is a PNG file made with Win7 snipping tool. Maybe that will help? I have reduced that image so as to include the entire space.
    Certainly appreciate your assistance. Any other ideas?
    RobertJ.

  • Loading CSS Body background before page content?

    Hi all,
    I'm doing this homepage for a publisher:
    http://www.alma.dk/
    When testing it with sloppy (www.dallaway.com/sloppy/), I can
    see that the background image of the logo, which is the most
    important graphic, loads LAST.
    I've figured this is because the body style is set in the CSS
    file, and browser logic doesn't load CSS defined images first.
    Is there any way to make the page load the CSS defined images
    before it loads the rest of the page contents? I've got a few large
    images hidden in layers on that page that the browser attempts to
    load before displaying the background image, which is not ideal. -
    And I'd rather use CSS styling for the body, ofcourse.
    Thank you for any pointers!

    If you eliminated the heavy js hit of snap layers (using CSS
    instead), and
    adopted the Set Text method of writing the image source link
    to an ID
    element, you could probably cut 80% of this page's weight.
    Then you
    wouldn't have to worry about the slow load.

  • When i preview the page in the browser why is there grey padding and how do i get rid of it?

    Why doesnt the image go from edge to edge? Sorry if stupid question i am new to muse.
    Thank you.

    laity -  If you want the image to fill the space around the page content, set the Browser Fill to an image and set Fitting to Stretch to Fill. If you just want an image to span the width, create a 100% width rectangle and set its fill to an image in the same way. You can also set an image frame to be 100%.
    100% Width icon.
