Linking page to website

Hi,
this is my first time making a website and I am using
dreamweaver CS3, and everything is about done, I made the photo
gallery in JAlbum and I linked my homepage to the photo gallery,
but I cannot seem to make a link on the gallery page, to come back
to my homepage.
I don't know what I am doing wrong, I have made links before
that worked, but for some reason every link I have made doesn't
seem to wanna work..
Any suggestions would be helpful...thanks

The simplest method is to use an iframe on your DW page to
call up the
JAlbum Gallery/index.html page.
Here is an example of a JAlbum (flash gallery) on my site:

  • Linking pages in website

    I'm building my first stie in Flash and am currently linking
    each page with the loadMovie function for each button. This is
    fine, but I'm finding that I'll need a preloader for each page,
    which the total pages could equal 20+, to prevent a break the
    background color as it goes from page to page. Is there another way
    to link the pages, so that there is no break? Adding keyframes,
    etc...?
    It's my first time. Be gentle.
    Thanks,

  • Spry Menu and website differ on linked pages

    Two pages on my website (www.SimplyGreen.biz) are pointing to an incorrect page on my Spry Menu Bar.  When I look at the Spry Menu Bar set up - it is correct and when I look at the code behind that menu bar - it is pointing to the correct page also.  When I preview the page in browser, it comes up correct.  When I go to my website, the index page comes up correctly, but when you point or hover over the first menu item (Corporate Solutions on the far left) it opens the Driving Positive Solutions page instead of the index page it's supposed to.  The Spry menu is correctly pointing to the correct files.  I have manually taken the spry menus off the remote site and reloaded the new local site file........ and it still won't change it.  It must be saved somewhere else & I can't figure out where else to look.
    The same situation (wrong page opening up) happens under the Sustainable Solutions menu item (4th menu item) which is bringing up the Value of Partnerships page instead of it's own page (that shows up correctly also in the Spry Menu Bar and its deign code.
    It's driving me crazy!  I have reloaded the entire site, the dependent files, removed the template and reloaded it onto remote site, changed to another page and then back to force it over, etc.    I can't figure out where the wrong linked page info is coming from and why only those two pages bring up a different page than they are supposed to.

    Is it possible that your problem is caused by a web cache bringing up the wrong information? Clear history in your browser, or test on another machine to see if this is the problem.

  • When i click on a link on a website it opens a new non working white page on (MAC) when i know the link works

    when i click on a link on a website it opens a new non working white page on (MAC) when i know the link works

    It sounds like your computer may be infected with some sort of a virus / Malware.
    I suggest the following resources:
    [[Is my Firefox problem a result of malware |Is my Firefox problem a Result of Malware]] is a Mozilla Support article with some good tips on avoiding and fighting malware.
    To double check your system is clean, do the following (Not official Mozilla advice, just good practice from personal experience)
    Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]
    Download and Run TDSSKiller [http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363]
    Download and Install Microsoft Security Essentials [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials] (not an official endorsement, but I personally recommend MSE as an awesome permanent anti-virus)
    Double check for all Windows Updates.
    Also, I noticed you have the coupon printer installed. I would go to Start, Control Panel, then programs and features and uninstall the coupon Printer from inside there. It can cause some problems with Firefox.
    If you are still having problems with Malware after that, I would recommend either [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/], or having your computer cleaned by a professional.

  • Link to my website keeps bringing up old website

    I created a website and then made changes and saved and published the changes. Now I've placed an ad with a link to my website but it keeps linking to my old web page. In iWeb that page is no longer there, so I don't know how it keeps going to the old page. Has anyone encountered this problem? Need help quick. Thanks.
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    You are probably seeing old information from your browser's memory cache. Try emptying your browser cache. If you are using Safari, look under the Safari menu and select "Empty Cache..." Then reload your site. You should now see the fully updated site!
    Best of luck!

  • How to find links in a website

    Hello,
    Well i have studied the example in page http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/urls/readingURL.html and coded it.
    The program reads the url and outputs the html code of the site , as i understood.
    Well, how am i supposed to find the links in a website? Which parts of the html code shall i read ?
    May you please tell which class or methods shall i study in order to do it?
    Thanks in advance! :)

    I was initially tempted to say use an XML parser, but many html pages don't use XHTML (XML compliant HTML). You may just want to try reading the code line by line looking for links yourself. Take a look at the Pattern and Matcher classes to see how regular expressions work.
    Here's some sample code to help you get started. What you're looking for is the text in the quotes after an href tag. Notice that with all the possibilities of whitespace, the " *" had to be included. Also, either single or double quotes may be used. The while loop is needed because there could be multiple matches.
    String data = "< a href='abc'>one</a> <a href   =  'def'>two</a>";
    String regex = "< *a.*href *= *['|\"]";
    Pattern p = Pattern.compile(regex);
    Matcher m = p.matcher(data);
    while (m.find()){
         System.out.println(m.end());
    {code}
      That should be good enough, though there's almost certainly cases I've overlooked.

  • Links to External Websites Appearing in my Project

    Hi,
    Got a strange one here . . . it may be network related I guess, but I'm not sure.
    I recently finished work on a large WebHelp project. When I outputed it to HTML I noticed that certain words have been 'hikacked' and used as links to external websites - webopedia.com being the most common:
    <p class="DocsNormal" align="justify">Federated Instant Messaging (IM)
    <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/F/network.html"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none;">networks</span></a>
    allow communications across a variety of different IM <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/F/client.html"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none;">clients</span></a>
    and <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/F/platform.html"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none;">platforms</span></a>.
    A Federated IM network, has an open <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/F/directory.html"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none;">directory</span></a>
    allowing other IM networks to message their users. Federated IM networks
    often communicate using open standards, such as <a href="http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/F/XMPP.html"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none;">XMPP</span></a>.</p>
    It's almost as if Google Adwords or some other site has taken over my document. These are certainly not links that I have put in; I generally only link to other pages within the same document and hardly ever go out to other sites. The only external links I have added to the project are for legitimate sites (Adobe and Avaya).
    Has anybody else experienced this, and does anybody know how to stop it happening?
    Any help or advice would be appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hello again Alex
    Okay, question here. The document you say is exhibiting the issue, did you create that document yourself? If not, then perhaps whomever created the document to begin with added these links.
    I suppose that you could troubleshoot this by creating a fresh document. If the fresh document doesn't have the mysterious links, you can rule out any automated and nefarious forces at play. But if creating the document DOES seem to contain the links, you have other issues at play here that warrant further and deeper investigation.
    By the way, is this content originating from a Microsoft Word document or is it just basic HTML pages?
    Cheers... Rick

  • One-page scrolling website not displaying correctly on Dell computers

    I am having issues with my current one-page scrolling website displaying correctly on Dell computers. I am able to view it perfectly on a MAC. How do I make sure the website will open correctly on different screen monitors? My current page properties W: 1020 H: 31281. Do I need to recreate the document with a smaller page width? Some of my images within the website appear larger on certain screens and smaller on others. Is this common?

    Hi,
    Kindly share the link to the website, that will make it easier to understand the problem, if any.
    Regards

  • How do I attach the link to my website?

    Hello-  I want to add a link on my website using the template I created today. How do I do that?   Thanks...

    If I understand you correctly you want to have a link of your fillable form on your website.
    If that is the case you would need to have access to the page you want to add the link to.
    Here is a reference on how to add link to an HTML page : http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
    You can get the link of your fillable form on the "Distribute Tab".
    Known that you can also embed the form itself in your website.
    You can find more information about that here : http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1991
    Hope this helps

  • I use to be able to click on a link in a website to watch a video and it would launch windows media player. I have installed the plugin but it still will not launch

    Windows Media player will not launch from a video link within a website. it worked until I installed FF4. I did install the plug in but still nothing it just goes to a black then blank page when you try to launch the video.
    Ideas?

    At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15667/applejack
    After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
    Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
    At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
    The 6 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
    Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
    First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
    Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
    Then... Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Then Apply. For 10.5/10.6 Network, highlight Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.
    DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
    These Servers have been patched to guard against DNS poisoning, and are faster/more reliable than most ISP's DNS Servers.
    The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
    10.5.x/10.6.x instructions...
    System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
    The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

  • I cannot open mailto links in external websites.

    when I click on an email link in some websites, it says there is no application to open the mailto link. I went through the help menus, where I am asked to find the mailto feature and add an application. There is no mailto feature listed, so I can't link an application. It seems my firefox has no knowledge of mailto. I don't get a yahoo pop-up as others do. What do I do? I have Firefox 20.0.1and gmail and windows 7.

    See:
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Changing+the+e-mail+program+used+by+Firefox
    You can check the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs on the about:config page.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
    If network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs are user set (bold) then right-click and Reset them to the default value.
    You can also try to change the network.protocol-handler.warn-external.mailto pref to true.
