Linking R/3 with ESS

Hi,
I have created Business event groups,types and Business Events in R/3. But I am not able to see them in ESS. I am able to access other info like Personal Info, Leave balance, travel, inbox etc. on ESS. But I am not able to view Business Events, Skills profile,Open positions under Employment opportunities.
Could somebody tell me what could be the probable reason for this and what all things to check to rectify this.

Thanks for the response.
We are using EP 6.0 and SP 9.
We have not imported any business package, but we have used the existing one available under 'migrated content'.
Can you also tell me if the 'Book Room' service available is related to the 'Rooms' that are created as a resource under Training & Event. I am not able to access this also in ESS.

Custom HCM form integration with ESS

Hi,
Is it possible to integrate a custom HCM form(Accident reporting) with ESS.
There are 12 services available in the homepage framework for ESS HCM forms. Does this mean that we can only integrate HCM forms related to these services with ESS?

Thanks Bala, I have created a new service for the custom form. Which iview should i use to display the form.
I tried the approach of copying the start process iview from HR administrator business package and linking it to the service. The iview is not displaying the form.
Is this a valid approach or do we have to use webdynpro+adobe forms for ESS since there is no start process iview in ESS?

Plumtree link to tabs on ESS

We are implementing EP 6.0 with ESS BP 50.4. The client is using Plumtree as their portal, but they would like to have a link from Plumtree to SAP ESS. however when linking to ESS they like the right tab to come up depending on the link. For example if click on Benefits, they like to see the Benefits tab be the tab on the top in ESS. Any insights on how to create the URL to do that?

De-link PPM Item with SAP Project

Hello,
Can somebdoy throw a light on what to do in case I want to de-link a PPM-item with SAP project.This situation may rise if I want to change the project actuals going to bucket A to bucket B.As I can not change the relationship of an item with the bucket, I am looking for alternate solution where I can de-link SAP Project with SAP PPM item.

Hi Mahendra
If you are meaning to de-link a PS Project from a PPM Item, you can from the Item navigate to the 'Relationships' tab and then on the 'object links'sub-tab select and delete the assignment:
You can also remove a cProject relationship by clicking the 'Related Objects' sub-tab
Your comment that you cannot move an Item to a new Bucket - is this because your business process does not allow you to do so? Because this is definitely possible in the system.
Let me know if you have any further questions as I am not sure I have addressed your question

How do I get "mailto:" links to work with my web based email?

I use the web based email from godaddy.com called workspace. I can't get the mailto: links to work with firefox. I did find a code that makes the correct compose window to open up but it doesn't input the email address.
Also, a related problem with my email is that you can't copy an email address and then paste the email address into the email. Pasting is not allowed with firefox but works ok with Internet Explorer

Why need to link credit memo with invoice

Hi, gurus,
I received an AP invoice valued $2222 and then received a credit memo valued $222 about 1 week later.
Now I need to make payment.
I was told it's good to link credit memo with invoice by entering invoice number in the field "invoice reference" when creating credit memo. But I'm not sure why it's better because system will pick up both items anyway when i entered $ 2000 using f-53 to make outgoing payment.
The only reason i can think of is this link will guarantee that credit memo has the same terms of payment with invoice.
Is there any other good reasons? Any help will be appreciated.

We need to link credit memo with invoice against for two obvious reasons
1.. Future tracking of all credit memo i-e if we gave excess credits to vendor then it was against which invoice. This will create linkage and tracking of credit memo with invoice that will be shown in FBL1N .
2..At the end of specific time period ,month or quarter ,its a normal practise to reconcile vendor balance as per SAP ledger to that of vendor's own book. At that time you will need credit memo track also that against which invoice was the credit given.
This all can be achived after posting credit memo with refrence to invoice number. Audit perpective should also be kept in mind. Hope this will help you

That's why I want to link a form with MSC2N.
My customer ask me to ceate a form with these informations and I don't kow how to join the characteristics in MSC2N and the datas which come from MIGO.

What version of Windows and Office is it? I had this issue with an older version of office and Windows XP. Basically, MS are using their browser (IE) because it's their software (MS Office). If you go to options in MS word though, you should be able to find an option to set the default browser to open links.

1) What the Object Type i use to link c-Folder with DMS?
2) Can I do this if I install C-Folder in a separate server other than SAP R/3?

DO you mean via the 'Object Linking' feature in DMS?
If yes, please ensure that the 'c-projects Elements' object has been selected for the particular document type in DC10.
Also, to view the attached DIR in c-projects, ensure that the RFC is established b/w c-projects and DMS.
Yes..you can,since c-Folders has functionality of maintaining public and private collaboration scenarios so c-Folders is being used to communicate between Suppliers and Vendors.
c-Folders is not like webDMS, it is a separate application for which the link can be created from portal itself.
In c-Folders user ID and password can be created which need not have any licenses.
