Linking SAP Notes on SCN

Hi,
At the moment navigating between SAP Notes on SCN is quite time consuming. Usually a note has a series of related notes which contain other relevant information. However these are not linked so you have to search for each individual note number in turn to display it. These notes are usually linked to yet more notes and so on...
So what I end up doing is switching over to service.sap.com where the notes are linked together which makes navigation far simpler.
So a great help I feel would be for the Related Notes to be clickable thus making it easier to get to the information you require
You never know it may even assist newbies (such as myself) to quickly get to the cause of a problem instead of posting silly questions!

I agree with this. And in addition it would be good to have some kind of perm url to a SAP-Note which can point to a specific or latest revision, as well as allows switching the language.
Service Marketplace Links are a problem for people without customer login (and without a SSO Certificate) and the SDN Knowledgebase Search in SAP Notes misses the interactivity and linking.

Edit Page link is not appearing in Portal???

Hi All,
I created a Web Page, custom layout and published in WPC and created a role & folder for that web page in PCD.
I am able to see the role and the web page in Portal but "Edit Page" link is not appearing in portal.
I am the owner of the page.
Where to give the permissions?

Hi.
There is no list of all SAP Notes for a given time frame. You can search for SAP Notes on the SAP Service Marketplace. SAP Note Numbers are currently in the interval 1 to approximate 1570000. A lot of Notes between those numbers are not released for customers (used for internal documentation, outdated, product out of support...) and the vast majority of the Notes will not be relevant for the product you are using and the area you are interested in.
There are some collections of SAP Notes relevant for a specific area here in the SCN but for most cases it's best to search in the Service Marketplace for your specific area.

A/R Invoice linked object not working all the time

I have a LinkedButton that is set to SAPbouiCOM.BoLinkedObject.lf_Invoice. When the selected A/R Invoice has a Document Type of Service the link works. When the selected A/R Invoice has a Document Type of Items the link does not work and I get the following error:
"No matching records found 'A/R Invoice' (ODBC -2028)"
I there another property that I should be setting? I could not find anything.

SAP Note 0001370334: Error while deploying EAR file

Hi All,
We have a project requirement where payload should not be visible in both IE(SXMB_MONI) and RWB(Channel Monitoring). We have followed sap note 0001370334 and created .ear file as per sample .ear file given in the sap note.
Here the problem is when we are trying to deploy that .ear file using NWDS, it is throwing exception :
[ERROR CODE DPL.DCAPI.1027] SduLoadingException.
Additional information: 'The information about the development component found in the manifest is either missing or incomplete!
Manifest attributes are missing or have badly formatted value:
attribute keylocation is missing
attribute keyname is missing
attribute keyvendor is missing
attribute keycounter is missing

Link SAP with Excel

Hello SAP Gurus-
Every month we have to download various reports from SAP (ME2J, FS10N, FD10N, FK10N and others) and export it to excel. Than in excel, we have to mannually format the same.
Is there a way we can link SAP with excel? Like if anyone in my company posts against particular vendor, it will automatically update the excel file that will have report from FK10N (Vendor Balance Display)
One of my friend at Bloomberg said that their SAP is linked to excel where excel is updated automatic. But I could not get any further details on how it works.
Please let me know if there is a way we can implement this system in our company.

You have to direct download it in to the Excel sheet without export to excel file.
E.g:- If you need to download the balance or any data fron the spreatsdeet amd yu download the file and give the file name as .xls it will download in the excel format.

Installation of SAP Note 612011

Iu2019m going to install SAP note 612011 in order to make sure that the system no longer automatically sets the final indicator 'Clearing Indicator for GR/IR Posting for External Services' while processing an incoming invoice.
As itu2019s possible to read in the noteu2019s text, u201Cthis modification is not a function in the standard SAP system. SAP takes no responsibility and provides no maintenance for problems that may occur as a result of this modificationu201D.

As you know data and log entries of a MaxDB database instance are stored on so called volumes which are either files or, where this is possible, raw devices.
The benefits of a RAW device is a faster write performance. Also, a RAW device is much more secure because of the direct write to disks instead of caching the writes. The caching of writes could cause inconsistencies if a crash occurs.

For the note 999974, the pre reuiqusite is point five of OSS 494777. I assume this you have already done.
Now the value in the field FEBEP-FWAER is populated during foreign currency transaction. When I analyzed the program rfebka00 for the MT940 unstructured format, I saw that std SAp looks for pattern /OCMT/ in the tag 86 This is an identifier for foreign payment ( refer link http://martin.hinner.info/bankconvert/swift_mt940_942.pdf).
Because this the Field FEBEP-FWAER and FEBEP-FWBTR is populated with foriegn curr and foreign amt resp.
You issue I believe is when it posts to the subledger you get an in correct FX gain/loss as Std SAP doesnt pass the Amt in LC from the EBS. For which you are implementing this note.
Please check whether you are getting the file in below format if you using MT940.

Multiple WPC page links are not displaying in DLN?

Hi All,
I created a site in WPC.
I created 10 web pages under Web Pages folder.
I created a navigation node for the first page and published the site navigation.
Created a role in portal for the same.
Now I can see the role and the first page in portal.
I am unable to see the other pages as links in the Detail Level Navigation in portal.
I want to see like below in DLN.
Folder
-- Page1
-- Page2
-- Page3
-- Page3
How do I accomplish this?

In your example, are Folder1.. 3 each linking to its own "Web site"? This means, I gotto have a web-site per Folder.

It is not possible to configure WPC to use resource path IDs (RIDs) instead of GUIDs.
I think in SP15, you can't create a folder under "Site Navigation" and create Nav nodes under that. This means, the work around for me is to split my web-site into multiple web-sites and have folders created under Portal Role and have each folder point to a web-site as each web-site only has one site navigation (.wpc file).
Correct?
Btw, does anyone know if there is another way to link Portal role to WPC other than the "External Connector" property for Roles/worksets/folders?
