Linking sub accounts to primary account

Apart from my primary address, I have another personal one plus one I use for work, I need to link these to my primary address but find I cannot do so.  When I log in to the primary address, I cannot see the sub accounts and when I put their addresses & passwords in I get a message that the password is incorrect.  I know this isn't the case as I can receive mails in Outlook.  If I log on to view the mails in BT Mail in either of the sub accounts, I find that my primary address is shown as sub accounts.    How can I change the two sub accounts to link to the primary address?  I have gone round in circles trying to sort this out.

You've mentioned BT Mail, so you have a BT ID, all your accounts are migrated and more importantly - you know all your current passwords, make sure of this before proceeding.
You currently have this, and want to make one of the subaccount the 'primary' account:
BT ID:   [email protected] - btid_password
primary: [email protected] - account1_password
sub1:    [email protected] - account2_password
sub2:    [email protected] - account3_password
btid_password and account1_pasword are currently the same.
To make [email protected] your new 'primary' email address:
Login to MyBT using your BT ID and btid_password
Goto 'Edit profile' and change the email address to [email protected]
Update the 'optional' email and/or number - they are only used 'if you forget your details', i.e. for password recovery via the 'Forgotten my password' link on the login page.
At the bottom of the page you'll see:
'For security, please enter your current password' before saving this change.
Enter the BT ID password: btid_password
An email is sent to [email protected] for verification.
Email contents:
Dear Me
You recently requested a change of the email address in your BT.com profile.
To confirm the change of your email address, please click on this link. Please note that, for security purposes this link is only valid for 1 days after which time it will expire. If you do not click on the link above, your email address will not be changed.
Click on the link in the email
You'll see:
Change my username - Password required
We're changing your username to [email protected]. Your username will not change until you supply your password below.
For security, please now enter your password.
Enter the BT ID password: btid_password
You'll then see:
Your username has been changed
Your username is now [email protected]. You should use this username whenever you log in to My BT. Log in with your new details now.
You will end up with:
BT ID:   [email protected] - btid_password <- this does not change
primary: [email protected] - account2_password
sub1:    [email protected] - account1_password
sub2:    [email protected] - account3_password
Note: If you now change the account password, either by the 'Forgotten your password' on the login page, or by changing the password in 'Edit profile' - both btid_password and account2_pasword will be reset.
Good Luck.

  • Turn my Sub-Account into Primary Account

    Guys,
Looking for some help as i can't get anywhere with online chat and even after speaking to someone over the phone who advised it would be resolved in 24hrs, i got an annoying text that i could not reply to stating it couldn't be done.
Basically a btinternet e-mail address that i have used for years is classed as as Sub-Account.  I have been trying to set up BT WIFI but when i use this e-mail address it says that it is not a primary account - i do know the primary e-mail address but since i never use that i would prefer to have just the one.
So i need to turn my Sub-Account into my Primary Account.
I was advised this could be done, gave them all the details, told it would be sorted in 24hrs time.  72hrs later i received a text message "We have tried to contact you but were unsuccessful, unfortunately the e-mail address you have requested is already in use"
Two things here, i've no missed calls or voicemails so i find it hard to believe they tried to call me, secondly i know that the e-mail address is already in use...because it is me that uses it! I just need it set to my primary...
How difficult can this be? Customer Service is really poor, several issues over the past 6months that i end up spending hours explaining a 2minute problem, i guess this is what happens when you offshore service desks and expect people to use basic transcripts to resolve a clear language barrier.

  • Making a New Account the Primary Account

Hi, I experienced problems with one user account and switched everything over to a new user account labeled "apple". I want to rename "apple" and make it the primary account instead of another user account. is this possible? Thanks!

Hi Alex, Welcome to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
Yes. First may I note that for security reasons you want to be in a standard account while surfing the internet. Assuming that is not the case, here is how to fix that and maintain your settings.
If the other account is not an admin account, make it into admin level.
Now change your surfing account into standard.
When surfing in an admin account it is too easy to get nasties into your system. There are very few now but who knows about tomorrow.
The concern re renaming accounts is loosing ability to find stuff. I would do a bit of research before doing that. Applications help. A Forum Search. etc.
Hope that's helpful. Post Back. Good Luck, JP

  • Deleting a user account? or making second account the primary account??

Hi, a few days ago i bought a new 24" imac & used the migration assistant to transfer all my stuff over from my 17" intel imac running 10.4.10.
I did this AFTER i setup the 24"imac with a user account. I was hoping i could make my old account the default account on the new imac. I have set it up so when it logs on it logs into my old imac account, & have gone through & set all the permissions so i can do what ever i want. I have also set the transferred account as an administrative account.
So here is my question - can i delete the original account that was setup on my new 24" & keep the transferred account as the main account?
It doesnt really hurt to have 2 accounts there but i am the only user for this computer & would like to have it alittle simpler...
    thanks

is this ok to do? remembering the transferred account came from a imac running 10.4.10 & the new machine is 10.5.4.
will there be any library or system issues?? is it really as straight forward as deleting the account?? Remember the account i want to delete is the account i set up when i booted this computer for the first time...

    Hey bjboles,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The article linked below describes what to do after changing your Apple ID, but you can use it as a guide to resolve the incorrect Apple ID account information entered issue that you described.

  • I established a sub-account (2nd email address) to my primary account, and can't seem to switch between them in Thunderbird. Help?

Thunderbird will let me rename my primary account with the name of the sub-account (which confused me for quite a while), but I simply want to switch *between* the two accounts. That is, I would like to view the emails received by the primary account, and then, subsequently, change/switch to viewing the emails received by the sub-account. I would like to do these two separate things at will. I am currently unable to do so, and cannot figure out how to. can you help?

  • Change primary account email address?

Is it possible to take a newly created sub account and make it the primary account email address? If so would this carry over to other linked services (ie Flickr) so I could delete the original primary email address
    Thanks

    Clarifying on Andy:
Flickr maintains its own database to login. It only uses the email to communicate and update you. Once you 'll get your primary email changed in BT, you can maintain the same on flickr thereafter.
Note: Changing your primary email address on Flickr will not change your Yahoo! log in.

Sorry, but I'm going to question this again. The only way a BTinternet user can have a flickr pro account is by the association with their Broadband email address (either primary or sub account). Using any other email address (e.g. payg) will get the user a very limited Flickr account.
Unless the primary email address already in use by Stuart is converted to a sub account, then it is likely to cause problems and effectively stop them being a pro user.
The link you quoted has nothing to do with altering the user's Flickr status which is actually in question here.
Now - I am not saying that you are wrong, to me it just doesn't add up with the info I am aware about with regard Flickr pro accounts.

  • How to change iCloud primary account without deleting ical entries on existing primary account?

Hi, I've got a bit confused and befuddled with my icloud account(s), as I had a MobileMe account before icloud and an itunes / Apple account.  On my iphone and ipad, I've set up icloud on my itunes / Apple account details, which means I have a photo stream that works between these two devices. I also have something silly like 7 ical calendars on my iphone / ipad; two on an icloud account under the same log-in as my itunes, one on my gmail email account (which is the email account that is also my itunes / Apple account name) and four on a @me.com account I acquired from the old MobileMe days.  Although not perfect, it's worked ok for a while, until I wanted to move photos from iphoto on my mac to my photo stream, and realised I had two photo stream accounts, and the one linked to my mac wouldn't enable photos to be seen on my iphone or ipad.
So I read a lot of stuff on here and decided I needed to change my primary icloud on my mac, ensuring it was my itunes account rather than my icloud account. I did this last night and all the diary entries in my mac ical disappeared. I then went back and deleted the itunes account details as my primary account and reinstalled the icloud details. On doing this, I realised I only have four calendars in my mac ical - and these are all on my @me.com account, none of the gmail calendars appear.
What I'd like to do, if possible, is migrate all my @me.com calendars and photo stream into one icloud account, using my itunes log-in details. This will, hopefully, mean I can cut down on the number of calendars on my iphone and ipads, ensure everything synchs across the mobile devices and my mac, and ensure I can use photo stream across all three.  Can anyone suggest how I can do this please?

When you delete an iCloud account from a device, that has no effect on the iCloud accounts on other devices or the content in that iCloud account. You are just deleting that account from that particular device.
Her content will still be in iCloud.

  • Into my download stack which appears to be a Facebook login page to someone who is not me but has my e/mail as the primary account, should I be concerned?

I have clicked on a link received in my e/mai which has put a download  into my download stack which appears to be a Facebook login page to someone who is not me but has my e/mail as the primary account, should I be concerned?

I would do the following just to be safe.
Change your email password so anyone trying to use your email address won't be able to or delete that email address from where ever you got it after getting a new one.
    I would trash the download.

  • Link Recon account to customer account group

    hi guys,
Where do we link a reconciliation account to the customer account group?
    thanks
    srik.

We do not link recon account to the customer account grp.
    account group controls
    1) the interval for the account numbers
    2) whether the number is assigned internally by the system or externally by the user (type of number assignment)
    3) whether it is a one-time account
    4) which fields are ready for input or must be filled when creating and changing master records (field status) we control the field of recon account from the account group.
we will assign the recon acc when creating a customer master data so that
(When you post to a customer account, the system automatically makes a corresponding posting to the appropriate reconciliation account in the general ledger. This means that it is no longer necessary to transfer the figures from the sub ledger accounts to the general ledger before creating the balance sheet.)

  • Primary contact vs. primary account

    My scenario is that:
Looking at the contact details when multiple accounts, one account is flagged as primary
Each of the accounts are linked to this same contact, yet when I look at each account
within the account details, only one of the accounts has a contact flagged as primary
So my question is are these two primary flags separate? Or are they the same flag in the data model?
I thought that an account could have multiple contacts, with only one as primary (e.g. the first
one attached to it), and independently/vice versa (a contact could be associated to multiple
    accounts, with one as primary).

    Hi,
these flags should be independent. One contact can be primary contact on multiple accounts, but only one account is her primary account and vice versa.

  • I use an i-pad and my primary account email is aol.  Is there a way to import my aol address book onto my ipad "contacts?"

I am using an ipad and the primary account email is aol.  Is there a way to import my aol address book onto my ipad "contacts" app?

Oops, I found the answer to my question. Great knowledge base! I had originally imported via the automatic popup dialog box that appeared when I installed TB, and didn't absorb at the time that there would be a way to do an import later, after TB install, too, and even for specific parts of OE (address book vs. mail messages, etc.).
I pasted the link to the "Migrate to Thunderbird" page that includes how to migrate just an Address Book from OE, but the following is all that pastes in: 9723729938
I have typed out the link here:

  • Change primary account ID

I want to delete my primary account and change it to a new account that I have created.  Our old account gets too much spam daily that is getting through the filters and I am deleting up to 30 plus emails daily.  How can I do this?

Anytime I have heard anyone want this, they are forced to disconnect their account, and then install it again.   It's seemless, no tech needed. but seems like a PITA to do.
If I remember correctly, it's an all or nothing, and it kills your sub accounts too, because if you bring your sub's back it brings back the primary, and then what is the point?

  • BT Broadband Email - Secondary / Primary Account C...

I have BT Broadband with a primary and secondary email address.
Both emails are @btinternet.com addresses, and I use the BT Yahoo IMAP servers to send receive email on my desktop and various mobile devices (iPhone / iPad / Android HC Tablet).
The issue is, intermittently, I get messages that have been sent to my secondary (sub-account) email appear in my primary account.
There is always a delay, which can be anything from a few hours to a month or so. The messages have been previously "read" in my secondary account, but appear as "unread" in my primary account. They always also come through to my primary account in bulk ie multiple messages at once.
This is not a device issue as I have been logged into the bt.yahoo.com web mail interface when this has happened.
Surely I should not be receiving emails that have been sent and received on my secondary email address into my primary email address?

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
This sounds a very strange scenario, and nothing I have ever heard of before.
Can you say if the forwarded emails happen after a certain event, such as logging on via an iPad etc ? It does seem like there may be some rule set up in a mail client product you are using that sends the received sub account emails onto the primary.
Clearly something is triggering this. I don't expect it's an outside miscreant who may have got your passwords - so even though it might be worth altering the password, I don't expect that to be relevant (why would someone even do that!).
