Linking the tracking number

What would be the best way to link the tracking number from Webtools order history to UPS, FexEx or USPS site.
We would like our customer to click on the tracking number and go to appropriate website to track the shipment.

I've never done this but one method I though about was to create a new page in the webtools site that takes a tracking number in the querystring and then based on the format it redirects to the appropriate tracking site. That way the mail template only needs one url surrounding the tracking number but it will eventually sent the customer to the correct site.
Obviously this assumes you can determine correct shipping type based on the tracking number.
I guess instead of passing the tracking number you could just pass the order number and the page looks up the ship method from teh WebTools database.

How do I get rid of the Track number in a song's name?

So I just got a new windows computer and transferred all my songs from my old windows machine to this one. Unfortunately, a lot of the files have numbers in front of their name, in fact almost all of them do (I'm talking about the actual file in their respective folders). What puzzles me is some of the songs, once added to itunes, have the track number in front of their name in itunes, while others do not. I started to rename each song, but that is taking way too long. Do any of you know of a way to select a large group of songs and modify each name only a little with out changing each one to the same thing? I pretty much have to delete 3 spaces before each song. Any suggestions would be really helpful.
P.S. the sort cuts for play/pause/skip/reverse only work for windows media center, which really isn't great. When I try to use them they will literally launch windows media center. is there a way to change this so that they will work for itunes?

Hi there - are you sure they (whoever that is) asked you to keep track of the Tracking number? Do you think they meant the Serial Number?
You can find the serial number of your MBP by clicking on the apple icon at the top of your menu bar, and go to About this Mac, then you can click on more information, which will give you the serial number of your macbook pro.
PS - in terms of safeguards for stolen macs, you might want to do a search on the forum discussion related to this issue (stolen or lost) . . .

ITunes 9.0.1 - continuously adding the Track number to filenames?

Hi all,
So I recently added some MP3's I had into my iTunes 9.0.1 library (automatically added by iTunes; "Upgraded" Media Organization enabled), and all was well.
Until I noticed something very odd: When the files were first added, every single one had a "01" or "02" in the front of its file name, and I discovered this was corresponding to the track number - not all that big of a deal.
*But what's really driving me insane is the fact that _every time_ I play a song, the same number that was in front of the file name, "01" or "02," is automatically added in front of the file name. I.e., if I play an MP3 _fifteen times_, fifteen "01" or "02" will show up in front of the file name.*
Can anyone inform me of what's causing this and what a solution would be? (And how to restore the filenames of all the MP3's I added?)
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Nota bene: The MP3's I added are Korean songs, with titles and artists typed in Korean. My speculation is that there's some kind of parsing bug with regards to how iTunes 9.0.1 looks at titles when it comes to foreign character sets... But I want to see if anyone else has been having this extremely annoying problem.

However when I am trying with different vendor with Pur. Org I am able to get the Tracking number in the PO but I am unable to get the Tracking number with other Vendor and Purch. org combination.

Were you sent an email or confirmation that your order has been shipped? That should have the tracking number. If there isn't one, contact the store - we are just other users here unfortunately.

Can you change the track number of a song got from the iTunes store?

I am trying to change the track numbers of stuff I have purchased from iTunes store. I have found that even if you change them in the Info tab section it doesn't actually change. I purchased a load of Muse B-sides and stuff from the iTUNES store and wanted to make them all into an album of b-sides all numbered 1 to whatever, but even if I do change the number like I said, when I put it onto my ipod it still seems to keep the track number it had originally. Say I purchased track 2 of a single. But on the cd I burn I want it to be track 7. So I burn the cd with all the tracks in the order I want them with Itunes ( having changed their track numbers as well in the info section ) but when I rip the cd back into Itunes and put it onto my pod the track that was track 7 on the cd ( but was originally track 2 off a single i purchased ) becomes track 2 again when it on my ipod? Any way round this?

Make a playlist and put them in whatever order you like within that playlist.

Unable to edit the tracks number

Having updated iTunes 12.01 with Yosemite 10.10.2 I'm unable to edit the tracks number, as I used to do, select a song then get info and edit whatever I want, everything looks fine except the possibility to edit the track number. Any thought?

You can still edit the track number ... it just involves a scrolling action with the new iTunes.
Go to the song's "Get Info" as you used to do. Once you open the "Details" tab, scroll down to reveal the track number which you can edit.

Well you use iTUnes to organize your music on the PC and the iPOd. If these songs are in a playlist, you need to open that playlist in iTunes and organize it by the headers.

ITunes 10.6.1.7 - The Track Number of any song i play in iTunes is being erased! PLEASE HELP!

I'm experiencing a very weird bug in iTunes 10.6.7 (64-bit) - on Windows 7. What happens?
With some of the songs, when I use my Left Mouse Button to double-click the song (to play it!) in the music library (in iTunes of course), the song loses the meta-data of the total number of tracks.
The setup of my iTunes is as follows:
Each of my songs are part of different albums, so that means that every song has meta-data of the total number of tracks of the album its part of.
Every song in my music library has been converted by iTunes (so they all have the same specs).Here are those specs:
(Forgive me if I use different words for the technical terms, I'm working with an iTunes in my own native language so I don't know all the english equivalent words.)
Type: MPEG-audiofile
Bitspeed: 320 kbps
Samplefrequence: 44,100 kHz
Categorization: MPEG-1, Layer 3
Channels: Joint Stereo
ID3-tag: v2.3
The following spec is the only thing I can think of that is significantly different between the songs that could be the cause of the bug.
Here is the information on this specific spec of one of the songs which has this problem:
Coded with: iTunes 10.6.0.40
My question is: is there anyone who experiences the same problem with this version of iTunes? Were you able to fix it? Or any advice?

Issue solved - It turns out that the QuickTime version on my PC was 6.5 and I needed to update to version 7.6 or higher to allow videos to play in iTunes. I updated to QuickTime version 7.7 and then added the old podcast folder to iTunes while in podcasts. This found all video podcast content and then the auto reorg moved all folders to the new podcast directory. For the videos I manually moved earlier, I had to move (not copy) them back to the old directory or folder then add that old folder and they were now in the right directory and viewable in iTunes.

You have several solutions:
1st: Select the MIDI regions in question, go to the event list and filter it by searching for controller No. 7. Now you can easily select them all together and change them (all together) to another value that Logic likes more (and that fits MIDI standards better...)
2nd: Now comes the really advanced way: Build an environment including a transformer for each and every software instrument, cableing the transformer to the software instruments channelstrip input. Now, in the arrange, you have to re-assign the MIDI tracks to the transformer in the environment. It's more complicated than playing chess against Kasparow, but it will open you unknown fields of possibilities (I've tested it and it works for me, but i really don't need this solution for 99,9% of my music). It's a MIDI wasteland for people who as kids loved to play with do-it-yourself electronic kits and weld their cables themselfes... In short: You have to know some thing about signal flow and how MIDI works. Perhaps it is the philosophers stone for you? Who knows.
Anyway, I'd recommend solution No. 1 because it is easy, quick and it works.

It says its "Not Found" on the site but it also does state the Memphis thing as well. Im in CA, hopefully they aren't coming out of Memphis..

I'm having the SAME thing happen to me, i'm in Ky. Its aggravating. I would be happy if it just said it hasn't been shipped yet. I just get tired of seeing not found.

I wanted to know if it is possible to link the Tracking number that is sent out in the email so when you click on it the UPS site will open with your details. Thanks for the help!

Yep, if you edit the mail template "ordershipped" you'll see that its just HTML with some %% variables included that are in the Netpoint.API.Fulfillment.NPShipment class of the API.
You can edit or add a link to the UPS website that includes the tracking number, provided you are inputting this tracking number into the delivery when creating it in B1.
