Linking Two SG300 52P Managed Together

Hello,
I have two Cisco SG300 52P Managed switches, switch A and switch B. I ran out of ports on "switch A" and "switch B" is not currently in use. I would like to expand "switch A" onto "switch B" so that I can have more ports available. Both switches have the latest firmware. Is there an optimal way for me to accomplish this? I have read similar posts to what I'm trying to do and there doesn't seem to be a consensus on this topic.

Thanks again for the info.
We have just a few clarifying questions we hope you can help with. I apologize in advance for asking so many. There just seems to be a vacuum when it comes to consensus or useful guides for setting up even the most basic network setup with Cisco equipment. Whatever info we can find seems to vary from product to product and does not map nicely to the equipment we've purchased. At any rate here are our questions:
1. Are you saying we should connect all the last 4 ports (ports 49 thru 52) of switch A to all the last 4 ports of switch B or are you saying anyone of the last 4 ports could be used? I'm sure you are saying the later but I just want to be extra sure.
2. You mentioned that these were DA interfaces and should be used for uplink. What does DA stand for and what make that important?
3. When we connect the two switches using this port (or ports) should we use a crossover cable? Does it matter?
4. After the two switches are connected to each other is there anything special we have to do, configuration wise on either switch, to make it work or will it just work transparently?
5. Not sure what you were referring to by: configuration wise there's no difference.
6. We're also confused by your last paragraph about default settings or what we should do about that for our two switches.
7. (final questions) since you mentioned that the last 4 ports should be used to connect other switches or routers. Should we connect our firewall to one of these ports? What are the benefits of doing so? If the answer is yes, is there anything we should do - configuration wise for it (on the switch or the firewall)?
When we are all setup and working we will probably blog about this so other small businesses like our that want a basic network setup using this equipment could have a simple guide to follow.

It's really less of an Acrobat vs. Reader issue than it is the security restrictions that are the default. For example, the "global" object that can be accessed via JavaScript can be used for this, but the user has to allow for it by setting a preference. Other security restrictions can be bypassed if the user installs a custom folder-level JavaScript file.

Linking two drop down list together

I have two drop downs list and I need to link them together for the user to only answer one of them and it won't allow an answer in the other or vice versa. How can I set that up?
If answer drop down list A then can't answer drop down list B

The attached contains two drop-down lists - apples and oranges. Each drop-down list has a default list item value of " ", thus the default index is 0 (zero). If you select a value other than default, the other drop-down list has it's access protected and the list item reset to 0 (zero). Conversely, if you select the default value, the other drop-down list becomes open or accessible.

How to link two ID account to only one

I have two Apple ID account, and I would like to link them into one account without losing my purchase on both account. How this is possible?

You cannot link two Apple ID's together. You can only log into one and download its purchases, and then log out and into the other account. You should choose one to continue using for the foreseeable future, and hope that someday Apple allows you to link accounts.

I created two "sequences". They are currently listed individually in the "project library". Now I want to take sequence "B" and attatch it in it's entirety to the end of sequence "A" - forming one long sequence.
I have tried to drag sequence "B" and drop it into "A's" timeline. I have tried to creat a compound clip. I'm either missing something - or - you can create a compound "clip" or a compound "event" - but perhaps you cannot link to "projects" together.
Does this help descibe my problem?

Linking two video clips together

I cannot find the way, how to link two video clips together so, that when moving one, the linked clip follows.
Is there a way of doing that?
The manual gives nothing with words: "linking video clips".

You can't link video clips to each other. You can nest them. Put the two clips in a sequence the way you want them. Put the sequence with the two clips inside your master sequence. They will act as a single clip. That's the only way.

Linking two accounts together

Are you able to link two accounts together. For example, I have had an account for a long time, but now my husband has one as well as my son. My son is currently signed in with my account but I would like to give him his own as well as share what I have with my husband.

Sorry, but it is not possible to merge iTunes Store accounts. You can, however, use content from multiple iTunes Store acounts on any given system or device. You just have to authorize the device to each account. You will have to use the account though which any item was purchased for redownloading, app updates, etc.

Linking two computers together

Can I link two macs together so I have access to both but the other computer doesn't have access to mine?

If you own both and have admin accounts on them, yes. On the "other" computer, go to System Preferences, Sharing, and turn on File Sharing.
When the two computers are on the same network, you should see the other computer appear in your sidebar in Finder. Click it, authenticate with your admin details (from the other computer), and you now have access to its files.

OBIEE: Link Two Separate Queries Together

I am trying to link two separate queries together in BIEE.
I have a query that will give me the sales value in January 2012 (monthly query)
But I would need to use the sales value of January 2012 to help derive the weekly sales value in another query (weekly query).
How would you link up two queries together?
I tried using union but it doesnt seem to be working.

Sure, My pleasure. Here are the basic steps what you could go through.
1. Create an analysis with your Month (January) and Sales.
2. Save this analysis as Report1.
3. Create another analysis with Week and Sales.
4. Create a filter on column:Sales using the option 'Based on Another Analysis'. The analysis editor will provide you an option to browse your other analysis which you want this analysis to be based on and just click on this browse button, and navigate to and select Report1.
5. Once you have selected Report 1 through browse option, you get down in the same pop-up the relationship and use values in column.
So sample entries in this pop-up might look like
Column : Sales
Operator : is based on results of another analysis
Saved Analysis : /My Folder/Report1
Relationship : is equal than
Use values in Column : Sales
6. If you run this analysis, you could get all weekly sales figures which are equal to the january sales figures.

is it possible to link two or more .java files together? I mean is if I have 3 .java files. (a.java, b.java, c.java) then I have 3 .class files too. How do I use the method in other .java files. For example :

O.K, you do not link ".java" files together.
You compile them into class files and they can create new instances of each other and and access their variables and work together.
I recommend "Sam's Teach Yourself Java in 21 Days".
It will start you out with the basics.

well then all you have to do is to make sure that you add the same "MutableTreeNode" object, (the element you want to link) into both models. adding a child to that node will then fire the update events to the view, i.e. the tree.

Linking two imacs?

I know this has probably already been discussed at one point or the other but I need some information.
I have an Intel iMac and a G5 iMac that both have Firewire ports. I do a lot of photography work and have many app open at once. I would like run Photoshop on one machine and Aperture on the other. All I need to do is be able to drag and drop from one computer to the other my image files. Is there any way to link two iMacs to do this. Obviously there is no way to control both computers with the same mouse and keyboard but I would like to at least be able to move files from one to the other with out having to do it over a network (router with ethernet). I just want to hook both computers together with one cable and drag and drop from one computer to the other. Any suggestions?

Target Disk Mode (TDM) effectively turns the Mac that is in TDM mode into an external hard drive for the other Mac. This will certainly allow you to drag & drop files & folders between the two Macs ... but only one of the Macs will be usable while the other basically becomes a hard drive connected to it.
It sounds like you want both Macs running as normal, but you want to share files/folders between them. And you don't want to do it via ethernet for some reason. Why? Networking would work fine.
You can directly connect the 2 Macs via an ethernet cable or via a FireWire cable and network them together that way, no router is needed. In both cases you would have to turn on File Sharing in the Mac whose files you want to share; and log on to it from the other Mac via Go > Connect to Server. (If you use FireWire, you also have to set FW as your preferred network in System Preferences > Networking; also on the Firewire pane, set Configure IPv4 = DHCP.)

Linking two Queries but the values are corrupted

I have started linking two queries from the same Cube. The invoiced value from the pre-query shows the correct value from SAP. When I use this prequery into another query and look at the same invoiced value key figure, the result has changed and is not correct anymore. Please advise what I am doing wrong.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Bhanu, the replacement path is on the Dimension Sales Document. I have tried to use the same variable on the Key Figure Net Value (Invoice). I also tried for a later attempt to use a different Key Figure in the prequery as net weight, just in case they added together.
Am I right that I should be using the same key figure Net Value (Invoice) in both queries?

Linking two KM systems

Hi,
I want to link two 2004s KM systems.
One KM should be the main system to hold the repository with all data.
The second system should use the same repository as the first one and shall build only a interface to the first system.
The reason why I want to do so is to use the KM API installed on the second system to let a WebDynpro application on the second system search for documents on the first system.
Could anyone please help me how to set up KM to do so?

Hi,
I have never done it before but you should look into adding external repositories. In the portal you can attach various document locations. This can be your mailserver (a exchange repository), a website or even another KM portal.
I`m not sure but I pretty sure you can add your other KM in you current portal by creating a WEBDAV repository. Webdav being the protocol portalKM`s can talk to each other. Once done you will get an extra KM folder on you current KM showing the complete other KM. (at least if you pick the root)
Go to System ad;ininstration > Knowledge Managment > configuration > Repository managers > Webdav repositories.

Linking two networks via wireless connection

I am looking to ‘link’ two parts of my house together to the same network… how do I do this?
I have a WRT54G in my office(Point A) where the DSL comes in. In another part of my house (Point B) I want to add another desktop and a network device both have 100Meg wired connections at point B. How can I link A and B together via wireless while still having the devices in Point B connected to a wired hub.
I want my WRT54G at A to control DHCP, etc.
From looking at the Bridge WET54G it will connect to one device only. Looking at the Wireless Access Point it is not clear what the differences are as they both have only one port… Do I need an access point to attach to a hub? Therefore two products?
Any help would be great.
This is what I tried before based on what one of the guys in the store told me... but it did not work.
I tried buying a USB wireless adaptor (Netgear) to add to the PC and then have the PC plugges into a $15.00 switch I picked up at Fry's. then plugging in the Sonos into the switch. The Netgear adaptor was junk and dropped connection all the time and would not work with WEP. After messing with the DNS and gatway it kind of worked, but took forever to access anything as I guess it was trashing around to with all the network paths... I really dont know, but I do know it did not work.

hello ! so far you have been on the right track....i'll help you clear the confusion
the WRT will communicate wireless with the WET(bridge) the bridge will be hardwired to a switch....and the othe PC and netrwork device will also be hardwired to the switch.
The way this will work ....the DHCP will be controlled by the router...this in turn will assign DHCP ip's to all PC's/devices connected to the network.
The PC and network device connected to the switch will get the IP from the router itself...the bridge will do exactly that.....it will bridge a wired and wireless medium.
So go in for a WET .....and let me know if you face any issue or need any further clarification .
