Links being rotated on replace pages

When I replace pages from pages that were previously printed to Adobe PDF from ESRI ArcGIS application with ones exported to PDF the links rotate and I cannot figure out how to fix this problem. I need to export from ESRI ArcGIS to take advantage of the layered options.
Any advice would be appreciated, see results below

Hi, I just tested this against 3 different versions of WSA and did not see the problem you are reporting. If this continues I suggest you contact Cisco support. This does not appear to be an issue specifically with the WSA itself from my findings.

Try printing the page as PDF.
From your Safari menu bar click File > Print > Save As PDF then print the PDF file.
If you don't want to do it that way, reset the print system.

Link Rectangles rotated on edited pdf

Historically there was often a problem editing landscape pdf's created in one version of Acrobat and being updated in a later version: existing link rectangles would be rotated by 90° when the new page (with or without new links) was inserted as a replacement. Adobe's helpful 'solution' was to manually rotate all the links manually (there could be hundreds on an index page!). Fortunately this problem didn't happen when moving from v8 through 10.
BUT.
My Office application was recently revised from 2003 to 2010 and I now find the same problem has recurred. If I ask a colleague with the same version of Acrobat (10.1.6) but Word 2003 to convert the file, the issue doesn't arise, and we both use 'Standard' conversion settings.
If I just use the 'Print to pdf' instead of Convert, the problem doesn't arise: which is fine if I don't need the 'extras' in a Conversion.
Any ideas (apart from pulling more hair out)?

Hi Bill; Thanks for the offer, but I'd really like to see Adobe step in as well, as they will have the applications and files to enable replication!
To repeat the sequence I believe you would need to be operating in the same environment:-
Windows 7 32 bit, MS Office 2010 (v14), Acrobat Pro (mine currently at 10.1.8)
Create a document in Word 2010 with the page orientation landscape.
Create a pdf using the Create pdf icon on the Acrobat tab (i.e. pdf maker)
Open a similar landscape pdf created from a Word 2003 document and containing links or buttons.
Perform a 'Replace Page' action to replace the original page with the new pdf, leaving the links and buttons intact.
The buttons and links are rotated 90° and in the wrong position.
If the new pdf is created by printing to pdf, the above does not occur.

Problem Replacing pages in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro

I have a 130 page PDF document with hundreds of links, all of which work and display in their proper position on all pages in original document. I have generated new pages to replace most existing pages & I'm having a problem with the links. Both the original 130 page document & the replacement pages are in landscape 11 X 17" format. When executing a Document|Replace pages command, the page is replaced but the links in the original document are rotated 90 degrees clockwise as if the command thinks I'm dealing with a portrait document. See below:
The above image shows the problem. The new page has replaced the original page but the original page links are rotate 90 degrees clockwise as I attempted to show with the crude red arrow. The box I'm pointing to should have remained at the lower left corner of the displayed page. I could, of course, removed the links and started all over but I'm hoping there is a simpler solution. I don't look forward to replacing over 1300 links.

Hello. I have created a navigation bar. And I would like to style the links to have the current page link a different color than the other links. For example, if all of the links have a black background, I would like to have the current page link to have a white background. The reason that I would like to style them this way is so that the visitor knows what page is being visitied.
I tried different ways but all of them did not show to make any change to the links. This is what I have so far. The links work, but all of them have the same color and background. When on the home page, I would like to have the home page link to have a white background with black letters. I would appreciate your advice.

I understood what the code will do. But it did not work.

By default, P5_TASK_NAME displays Task Name which is passed from Page 3.
So I changed your code as follows so that P5_TASK_NAME value may be displayed with a link.
...a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&SESSION.">:P5_TASK_NAME</a...
But P5_TASK_NAME value appears without any link and does not open page 3.
Then I created a new text item (display only) in the same HTML region in page 5 and entered the following code in the default box:

When I ran the application, it displayed the whole code as text.
How can I display P5_TASK_NAME value with a link to open page 3?
Would appreciate your help.

Replacing pages text but preserving «form» pages... A real problem of (wasting) energy and time?

Section A: a bunch of pages with text that are having a lot of changes.
Section B: a bunch of pages with forms already approved.
(Of section B have a already a PDF file with fields, buttons, links, etc, absolutely perfect)
Problem: change in section A a lot of pages.
Two ways: one, is replacig in the new PDF —now with many changes in section A — just the PDF section B pages already right.
In this procedure pages are indeed changed but field are lost...; the second way (I am using against any logic as time and energy are related) is copy-paste all the fields and buttons from the «good» PDF of section B to the new PDF with changes already made in section A.
What's wrong?
Why the file gets sick and does not allow to do this?
Going back to export as IDML is not enough.
Inserting the perfect pages of section B in the new PDF (either removing before or later the inadequate pages) damages the TOC in the new PDF and the hyperlinks related no page numbering get dead.
And inserting/replacing new section A in the old section B claims again for a loss of links as the PDF file has been made up of two parts. (?)

Qiuck link is not working for pages/iViews

I have set the quick link property of a page that is assigned to the role and named it myQuickLink but when I browse to:
http://<server>:50000/irj/portal/myQuickLink after the logon page I am not being directed to that page.
The user I am trying with has this role assigned and has access to that page.
Anything I'm missing here?

if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

Multiple Links' Content Displayed on Single Page

I don't really know what this is called
I have a set of 4 different links to web pages that I want to have displayed on one page. I do not want the users to have to click on each of the links to see the content. I just want the main page to have the content of the 4 links appear on the same page so they have no clue that there are different links.
How do I do that? I have been searching everywhere for an answer. Your help is very much appreciated.

So you see I want these links to the pages to actually display in a table-like format. I do not want the users to have to click on them. It's like I want them in different sections but the links imported or overlayed in the page. Does that help any?

'Replace pages' not modifying form element positions - is there another way?

PDF form design in InDesign, bring pdf into Acrobat to add field validation JS. All good.
Modify form in InDesign, 'Replace pages' in Acrobat to get new design changes in without losing JS.
Good, except Acrobat won't bring across any altered positions of form elements, only non-form elements like text and images.
Adding the JS to the PDF created by InDesign each time the form changes is time consuming. Tried adding the JS in one go via "Edit All JavaScripts" but Acrobat won't retain. It seems to want each form field's JS added to it individually.
Is there another way? Thanks.

If you want to insert a page with all of its objects in tact then you should delete the old page and then use the Insert From File command (under Tools - Pages) to add the new pages. I believe that will do what you're looking for.
The 'Insert From File' I expected would lose any script I've applied to an element previously on the page, which would be totally understandable. I guess the form elements are in a tricky position, being both an intrinsic part of the design (InDesign) and Interactivity (Acrobat).

Sharepoint 2013 - Search for link names on a single page

I am messing around with SP13 and trying to get my search result web part to only search for link names and display all results.
I have created the search source to point at the sub site. If I search for part of a link name it will list all links in one long row as a single result.
Example: One single page contains all links. Each link points to a .aspx page. The search source is pointing at this page and it can display results but only as a single result containing all links as one line of text.
Say I have 1000+ links of which 50 has names such as Link1-Item1-Basket1, Link1-Item1-Basket2 up to Link1-Item1-Basket50.
When I search for Link1-Item1 I would like my search results to display 50 results as 50 individual links.
Is this possible?

Yes, you can format the search results as you expected. But you have to create a custom display template to format your results such as extract the links from each results and display it as separate link.
Once display template created you have to map the display template to your search results web part.

In InDesign CS6/Cloud, is it possible to link selected text on one page to a separate page, or even to an object on a separate page?

I have an InDesign layout with multiple pages. The layout involves text and images, and there are text references for those images, that end up a page or two behind the image itself. What I'd like to know is if I can select certain text (for example, I want to select the number 3 in the text "Image 1 on page 3") and link it to a specific page, or to the actual placed image for "Image 1", so that if I have to re-paginate the layout later, the number 3 in the text will automatically change to a 2 or a 4, much like the functionality of page numbers. Let me know if my question isn't clear enough. Thanks!

This will work if you all use the file syncing of the Creative Cloud desktop application and then you use the Collaborate option for the folder containing all the files. Then it will work on each of your desktops.
Links to files will not work in the browser when viewing the InDesign document from https://creative.adobe.com/files.

Clicking on a link to open a new page or tab gives me a blank page.

If I click on a link to open a new page or a new tab, the page that opens is always blank and no address is in the address bar. Also, occasionally, my refresh button is "grayed" out so I can't hit that either. I think this is some sort of security setting blocking it. Can anyone help.

Is it possible to disable the 'edit layout' link on the record detail page

Is it possible to disable the 'edit layout' link on the record detail page? Not the homepages, I know there is a switch for that, but I thought there was one for the detail pages?
I want to disable this as I dont want users saving their own layouts, they must stick to the related sections defined in the default layout. The problem is that if they are to have access to certain related lists when an opportunity is of a certain type but NOT other types. If they have saved the layout (using the 'Edit Layout' link), and change the record type, they will see related sections that have been set to 'Not available' in the default layout (ie step 4) for that 'type'.

Robbo, at this time it not possible to disable the Edit Layout on the record detail page.
