    Thanks.

    Hi sergio torres ,
You have to wrtie all the users in a text file and then import that file into portal.

    @SujiRam-
We can see the group in portal and we are getting same issue for all the portal groups not particularly for one grp assignment. We are not using LDAP for EP.
    Please suggest-
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

  • Web Based Application Single Sign on With Enterprise Portal

    Good day Developers,
My question is really a two part question so forgive me in advance for asking in one post as I think they are relative to each other. My project is currently exlporing the creation of functionality that will allow the following:
    1. We want to allow a secure Web Based application possessing the abilitiy to auithenticate the user into Enterprise Portal and by passing the login screen to get to a landing page/iview in our Enterprise Portal instannce.
    2. We want the abilitity to perform a check of the user and create the user in the enterprise portal on the fly if they do not already exist.
So far in my research I've come across tools and white papers mentioning the use rof oAuth and OpenID. Is that the right way to tackle these two items. Thanks for your help in advance.
    JD

    Hi
    1. You can do SSO between you application and portal using Verisign or third party authentication tool. I am not pretty sure how landing page and all will work as you mentioned.
As portal is web based, you can deply your application in portal server. So that you will not need any other authentication tool. Also you can save effort , cost.
    2. By deploying application in portal also you do not have to concentrate on User management, which is itself a huge effort you have to put. Else you can go for third party tools like Identity management or ADS.

  • Creating users in enterprise portals with CUA as userbase

now i am creating a user from portal, create user option in UserManagement. but i just get an error like, could not create a user.
i checked out in system administration->umconfiguration-> sap system. all the details that we specified during the webas installation appear there by default.
so could you please let me know what the problem could be
    thank you

  • Enterprise Portal Administration

    Hi All
What is Portal administration? Think so related to system administration, content administration, user administration,HR administration form frontend Enterprise portal. What are the backend requirment? Are we required any administrative tool for performing Portal Administrator Role?  I am new to this and not know much more about portal administration. I want practical assistance for this.

    Hi,
Portal Administration, consists of system administration, content administration, user administration only.
For Portal Administration, Backend is not mandatory, but since the employee data flows from R3, it goes as a Portal critical component.
You don't need any Tools for Portal Administration, you need to have the required authorizations, viz system administration, content administration and user administration that you'll get in User Administration.
Check out the following link for a better understanding. You can search novice information on SDN & help.sap.com

  • Create the user master records using the Enterprise Portal

    Hello gurus!!
I'm configuring SRM 7.0 with EP.
I'm configuring the organizational structure, and steps guide (pdf and Solution Manager ) are:
    1. Go to transaction SU01 and create an ABAP User. (SRMADMIN)
    2. Assign this user the administrator role /SAPSRM/ADMINISTRATOR
    3. As the administrator, creater the organizational plan
    4. Create the remaining organizational unit
    5. Using the Enterprise Portal application, Business Parter:Employee, create the user master records for the departmental managers.
How I must create the user in Enterprise Portal? What user I have to use to log on in the Enterprise Portal application? Has the user to be integrated in the organzational structure??
    Thanks in advance!!!!
    Best regards.
    Maria.

    Hi,
You can create users in WebDynpro application. You can also create users in USERS_GEN transaction.

  • Is there User Group and Role Reporting in SAP Enterprise Portal?

I want to know if there is a way to pull users statistics our of SAP Enterprise Portal like you can out of the R3 backend systems.
I would like functionality similar to the SUIM transaction. I know through user administration you can access any user, even a list of all users, and you can do similar lists with roles and groups. You can then access any of these things individually and look at their assignments. However, I want to do this on a large scale. I want to know for example every group that has a user assigned to it. Evergroup that has roles assigned to it. Or groups that have no user or role assignments. We have approximately 1904 groups in our Production Portal system and I am trying to clean up the groups that have no user assignment, but I don't want to look through them one by one.

    Hi Chris,
There is no standard report available for this purpose. However all this information is stored in table UME_STRINGS.
You can write your own SQL queries to generate such reports. However please note that this table is not normalized, and it's a master UME table. You should use it strictly for READ ONLY purpose.
For a sample code you which i wrote some time back, you might refer:

  • E-Recruiting questionnaire for users using Enterprise Portal

    Dear All,
We use Enterprise Portal 6.0 for internal candidates to access e-Recruiting 3.0.
Users do not need to have password to e-Recruiting as they can access as communication user with SSO.
However, when recruiter sends a questionnaire to internal candidates, they need to logon with credentials to e-Recruiting, which they don't know.
Does anybody have any idea on the workaround, or any technical solution to synchronize the credentials between EP and e-Rec?
Thank you in advance for your advise.
    Best regards,
    Emi

    Hi Bharat,
    Thank you for your information.
Yes, it is true that we can insert the link to questionnaire, user ID and password in the correspondence.
However, as far as I know, if you insert a password in the correspondence, it always generates a new password and I don't want this to happen for external candidates who are accessing e-recruiting directly.
Is there a way just to show the current password, without generating a new one in the correspondence smartform?
    Thank you.

I want to  assign my GP process to Enterprise Portal user and I am using the following document given in SDN
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0975397-8e0a-2b10-4daa-bafd3a83e2a8.
But I am getting following error when I am logging in with a user who is initiator of the process and trying to open the role which I have created.
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A

    Exception id: 05:26_23/06/08_0021_13684150
See the details for the exception ID in the log file

    Hi,
What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to access the process via the GP Runtime or trying to start the process via a PCD object from the Portal.
What is the exception in the log file?
