Links from twitter open, but without their address.

When I open Twitter links, whether from Tweetie for Mac or from Firefox directly, the links open fine, but the address bar is empty. Even refreshing that page doesn't make that address link reappear. Very annoying, as clicking on another link in the page makes the address bar reappear, but on a different page of course.

In mail.app preferences there is a setting for RSS that lets one choose which program is the default RSS reader. Whichever program is set to be the default RSS reader is used by mail.app to open any urls in mail messages.
I really like my Mac but this is the most un-userfriendly, un-"it just works" thing I've run across in the 23 years I've been using Macintosh...

There are many forms of ‘Malware’ that can affect a computer system, of which ‘a virus’ is but one type, ‘trojans’ another. Using the strict definition of a computer virus, no viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions. The same is not true of other forms of malware, such as Trojans. Whilst it is a fairly safe bet that your Mac has NOT been infected by a virus, it may have another security-related problem, but more likely a technical problem unrelated to any malware threat.

Photoshop CS5 opens but without the chosen picture

After choosing a picture (jpg) in Bridge CS5 to be opened in Photoshop CS5 Photoshop is being started but keeps empty. The picture isn't opened. If I choose 5 pictures there will be opened 5 empty instances of Photoshop but no picture will be opened. I notice this behaviour since having updated to Raw 6.4.

i just tried to see a rule in what Photoshop does, but it is not always the same that happens.
First I marked 5 jpgs in Explorer an tried to open with rightclicking an choosing "open". --> Photoshop was opened and all pictures were shown. I closed Photoshop.
Second I opened Bridge and marked five jpgs and tried to open them with rightclicking and choosing open with Photoshop. --> Photoshop opened but without any picture. Photoshop keeps open...
Third I tried to open one single picture via dubbleclick in explorer.--> another Photoshop opened but without the picture.
Fourth I tried to open two PSD-files via marking and rightclicking and choosing "open". --> two other instances of Photoshop opened without pictures.
At last I tried to open 5 jpgs via marking and rightclicking and choosing "open" (in Explorer). --> five other instances of Photoshop opened without pictures.
so this looks strange:
what I'm wondering about:
normally if Photoshop is already opened, every additionally clicked picture will be opened in this one Photoshop-instance.
Why does Photoshop open without opening the picture?
It drives me crazy because I have to edit a lot of pictures during the day and the usual workflow doesn't work...

Firefox 32.0.1 installed on my Mac OS 10.6.8 and links from Mail no longer open. Click a link and Firefox opens, but the link doesn't appear or activate.

Some users have a similar problem to this, but if FireFox is already open the link from their mail client will activate in FireFox. For me, once I click a link in an email, FireFox immediately becomes the active application, but nothing further happens. FireFox has been the default browser for ages, but I stopped that, and set Safari as the default. Then quitting and re-opening FireFox I re-established it as the default browser, but the problem persists.

It amuses me that the email that was sent to confirm the posting of this question had a clickable link. Naturally that link did not work. Cutting and pasting it into FireFox allowed me to complete the posting process. Annoying.

When I click a link to a new page a new window opens but has no address...I have a dead window...It didn't use to do this for me...some program I have added must have made a change...Help!

When I open a new link from a tab, I get a new window to open, but there is nothing there but an empty Mozilla frame.

When I use FIREFOX to get to my Twitter page,Home page opens but my timeline stream doesn't appear. I can't click on my 'settings' either, even though it's on the task bar.
Twitter works on my default: Google Chrome.
Twitter worked for me on FIREFOX (even 'bookmarked' it) until Saturday night, March 5

Try deleting the prefs again - Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist
Restart your Mac and run Disk Utility to repair permissions.
If this doesn't work you need to consider the possibility that the domain file is corrupt.
When you say you are duplicating the domain file to another folder and adding content to that, are you deleting any content from this file as well as adding new?

Why won't most links from Facebook open?

I'm not sure if it's my internet or a problem with my iPad, but I can't get links from Facebook to open. Also was trying to shop on iPad with my Amazon app and it was taking forever for the product lists to come up. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, how can it be resolved? Maybe a setting I unknowingly turned on that prevents viewing some sights?

How to get FireFox to access links I select in my macmail application. Click on link and FireFox opens, but doesn't search for link.

When Safari is selected as default browser, clicking on a link found in an email (macmail) prompts Safari to open the linked page/site. But FireFox merely opens, doesn't go to the URL selected. What do I do?

Does that also happen if you disable all extensions?

Photoshop CS6 stopped working. Cannot open it. Bridge opens, but without any of my files populating it. HELP

Photoshop CS6 will not open any longer. Clicks on the icon on the desktop do nothing. Yet I was working with it yesterday. Bridge opened with my files populating it. I turned off computer hoping CS6 would reset. CS6 still does not open, but now Bridge opens without any of my files. Please HELP.

Video from DVD opens but audio missing

Hello,
I have QT Pro and bought the MPEG-2 playback and now can open a .vob file from a DVD, but the audio is missing. The video comes through fine. If I play the DVD in a DVD player, the audio is fine, so I know it's not the disc. The DVD has an Audio and Video folder; the audio folder is empty and the video folder contains a .vob file. Why is the audio not coming through? And how do I get the audio to come through? Thanks.

QuickTime doesn't (never did) extract the audio portion from muxed formats (MPEG 1 or 2 and Flash).

CFwindow open but without content

I have an issue with cfwindow, it usually work perfect, I'm trying to open the content of Help.cfm in a cfwindow. but when I test it it open the window but without content. just a blank window. ( I imported the cfwindow extension )

When I try to open a link (which would automatically open in a new window), for example a larger image, or a link etc, it opens but will not load. It either refuses to load or, in the case of an image, says 'stopped'.

As I say, since I updated to 3.6.15 I am unable to open links off a webpage that should open in a new window, or even open enlarged photographs in a separate window. Either, in the case of the latter, I get the message "stopped" in the bottom of the browser window, or in the former case it either appears to begin to load the new page but then stalls. Sometimes I don't even get this, but end up with "(Untitled)" appearing in the tab label.
As you can imagine, this is causing a great deal of problems and I am keen to sort it out asap.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

ITunes opens but without any text showing. Drop down menus have text but not the app itself. I have a Mac Powerbook Pro running Windows XP under Boot Camp.

Running under Windows XP, a few upgrades ago iTunes started opening without any text showing in the application. Clicking on PLAY will play music but no text shows to indicate what's playing and no text to show music library. Drop down windows show text but not the app itself.
Subsequent upgrades and reinstalls have not corrected the problem, When I run under iOS (Snow Leopard), iTunes opens with text and runs correctly.

Because I created FAT32 partition using Boot Camp tool few days ago I installed my custom copy of Windows XP with SP3, IE7 and WMP10 integrated using nLite (for WMP10 integration use RVM Integrator). I did not use Boot Camp tool this time - I just booted CD using Option key. Then I installed Boot Camp 2.0 drivers you can find on Mac Disk 1. After this I installed Boot Camp drivers 2.1 update. In Add or remove Programs I checked drivers - I uninstalled old drivers which call identical, but you can skip this. Everything works fine BTW it is better to format your partition to NTFS - you have much less disk errors, you do not waste time for disk errors scans during Windows startup, your data are much more safe. If you need NTFS write permissions use great tool Paragon NTFS for Mac OSX or open source NTFS driver.

Mail- I click an email link and Mail opens, but nothing happens

I dont use mail.app How can I disable it completely so that it wont bother me? Whenever I click an email link, i dont want Mail to open. It would be nice if my gmail opened though.

In the Firefox > Options menu under Applications, search for "mailto". From there select the action drop down and select the action.
If you click on the details of the action it should have https://compose.mail.yahoo.com/?To=%s
This macro should take you to a compose mail if you are logged in.
