Links hyperlinks

Hi
Just got 28 days left of this trial but have spent 3 hours
trying to figure out how to link one page to anther. Its so easy
with Msn Front page 03. (the msn expressions web is only an upgrade
from front page)
I must be doing something wrong, tried the different ways but
after 3 hours trying different routes still unable to link one page
to another or hyperlink to another web site. Read instrutions must
be missing something. Be glad if anyone can give me an idiots step
by step guide of linking pages to-gether and to external web sites.

Is it possible to put a link (hyperlink) on a row in a report!!

I need to know if it is possible to put a link (hyperlink) on a row in a report via a form or other method. The link will be different for each row.
I know you can add a column link but this will be the same link for each row.
I also know its possible using websheets.
However i am using an interactive report and form in a database. APEX 4.1.
The best method would be through a form. When the user creates a new entry for a row he can also add a link.

How do you propose to built the link? Is it embedded in a table? Built by a function? Yes, you can have a link in a report, just as a column like a date and an image..
If you offer more information, maybe SOMEONE can offer up more help..

Can't open links/hyperlinks in my mails....

Maybe its not the right forum, but I havn't been able to find help elsewhere. I'm using Outlook for Mac 2011 but can't open links/hyperlinks in my mails. The cursor turns into a hand as expected, but nothing happens when I try to activate the link. My default browser is Safari. Please help if anyone can..

I don't use Outlook so I cannot test anything here.
Is Outlook the only application that this occurs?
If it is only Outlook, I would suggest that its a setting or bug in Outlook causing the issue.
Instead of just clicking on the link, try Command (or right) Click and see if there is an 'Open Link' or 'Open URL' selection in the contextual menu.
If you can open the link that way, see if there is a setting in the preferences in Outlook that stops links being opened.

Hi All,
I want to make a "skip to content" link that will bring user to the content region when clicked. I make this link in a HTML portlet, but I don't know what value to put in the href attribute to make it pointing to the target region in a page ?

Cannot open links/hyperlinks in my Ipad Air email. This is a new problem! How do I fix back to norm as it was new?

Just recently I tried to click on a link in my email on my Ipad Air, click on menu headings did not respond? This is a new problem! Stores send me emails on sales with menu headings to access "Clearances", "Men's Wares", etc. I click on them to see the offerings BUT THEY DO NOT RESPOND? Is there a setting turned on or off that prevents me accessing these email links? Appreciate help...Thanks, VFP

Can't open a link (Hyperlink) in IE 11

Hi
I cant opena specified Link in ie 11, but this link opens in ie 9&8.(site of intranet network)
this site is only comptable with inetrnet explorer
please help

Details? "Can't open"? What are you doing? What happens? What do you see? Can you use right-click Copy Shortcut and then right-click Go to copied address?

That clue would suggest you have a Compatibility issue. If the site works in IE7 Quirks mode (essentially IE7 emulating IE5) you can use the Compatibility View. (Alt-x b)
There is also supposedly an option which forces that setting for Intranet sites. Use the Developer Tools, Emulation tab to see what emulation you are getting. (F12, Ctrl-8) Use the Console tab to see why. (F12, Ctrl-2)
Otherwise ask your administrator to put that site into an Enterprise mode list with the appropriate emulation specified.
BTW you can always use the Developer Tools Emulation tab to experiment with other Emulations but they are only temporary.

Text Links (Hyperlinks) Designer 8.0

I have designed a form in Designer 8.0 and some of my text needs to be linked to parts of a website.
I know you can enter links in Adobe Acrobat but once the tds file is turned into pdf this functionality is blocked.
I have tried many things, with no luck.
So if you know how to create a text link or alter the security settings once in a pdf that would be great!

I am pretty much a novice.
I have been using xfa.host.gotoURL("http://www.xyz.com/test.html");
which does not work with an invisible button so I create a custom button that looks like a text field. I do not know how to
implement your approach which will no doubt work with an invisible button. (I am using LifeCycle Designer 8).
I would appreciate a specific example and, if possible, to show me how to open the URL in a new window. My approach

fails.

CS3 - How can I preserve Links and Hyperlinks in my INDB?

I am still pretty new to ID, so please speak slowly :)
My problem - I create an INDB that consists of several indd chapters. The chapters include numerous Links (to PNG & PSD images) and Hyperlinks both to Text anchors to other chapters within the INDB, as well as to URLs. I have all items saved on my local HD. Once complete, I do "Package for Print", check the Preflight report to make sure all is OK (it is) and then save the new INDB folder in a new location on my local HD. This all seems to work just fine, BUT if I move this packaged INDB folder (such as to a backup drive, or give to another worker that copies it to their HD), upon opening the INDB file, some links and Hyperlinks are broken.
It seems that these broken Links and Hyperlinks are still pointing to the original locations on my HD. But obviously not all are, since most links/hyperlinks DO work fine. The Hyperlinks to Text anchors within other indd chapters seem to typically break. Is there a way to force these to reference the packaged assets within the INDB folder? Seems ID would be smart enough to look there itself!
Also, I was creating some Hyperlinks as "cross referenced" - that is, I created a URL Hyperlink Destination in Chapter 1 indd and then created Hyperlinks pointing to it from other chapter indd in the book. I have learned that these ALWAYS break in the above scenario, so I started creating the URL destination within the same chapter indd and pointing to it there rather than across chapters. But this is just more work to keep re-creating the same URL destination in every indd!
I'll keep running into these problems since I need to share my finished INDB with other CS3 users. I also would like to be able to do a Save As of the INDB when creating a revised, newer version, but I see this also results in the new INDB links/hyperlinks still pointing to the original INDB's assets! Any way to make the Save As update the Links/Hyperlinks in the new INDB?

In both cases it is not asked if multiple cells can be set to....
That is a given.
Step back a second... It is like selecting multiple cells and setting the text color of the currently selected cells to red. This can be done. More than one cell at a time modified because they are currently selected.
Whats is being asked is: if more than one cell is selected at the same time can the settings "Preserve Row" an / or "Preserve Column" be applied. No table I put up will help with that question.

Hyperlink (weblinks and UNC-links to files)

Think of links (Hyperlinks - active one's!) in Business partners to their web pages (not just the filed available with the need to 'copy and paste' to the browser - to me this seems like going to use a typewriter to write letters).
Think of links in Items or BOM's to documents and specifications to a already set up file structure on a documentation server. Nobody I know wants to have all these documents copied to a 'one level flat' file structure like B1 does. This leads to a completely unstructured and unusable File structure on the file server. It is just nonsense to believe that the access to these files always happens through B1 and the structure behind is a 'don't care'.
I just want to store the link to the web adress or document (UNC path or with mapped drive) without copying the document to a second place and linking/opening the document from its original place.
Please add this in as soon as possible. I assume its a small change to add a new UDF version based on the current one that copies the file. The rest can stay the same as with the current UDF for links.

This is must-have feature for any application.
It's hard to imagine that we cannot create any hyperlink in an ERP system. Can't believe this important feature is still missing after about almost three years.

Cross reference or hyperlinking not working for InDesign CS5 Book to ePub

I cannot get hyperlinks or cross reference links to work when generating an ePub from InDesign CS5. (7.0.0.355, Mac OS 10.6.2)
Here's how to recreate a simple test demonstrating the issue.
1. Create a new InDesign Book (File -> New -> Book)
2. Create document one (File -> New -> Document)
3. Create a text box and type "Table of Contents"
4. Create document two (File -> New -> Document)
5. Create a text box in it and type "Story One"
6. Create a new paragraph style and assign it to the Story One text
7. Save document 2. I just kept the name Untitled-2.xhtml
8. Back in document 1, add a cross-reference and select document 2, the style you created, and then "Story One". "Story One" should now appear under the previously typed Table of Contents text, and when highlighed, should show it is an active cross reference in the Hyperlinks panel.
9. Save document 1. I just kept the name Untitled-1.xhtml
10. Add both documents to the Book and save the book.
11. From the Book panel, select Export Book to EPUB...
12. Save the epub file and open it in Adobe Digital Editions.
Note that the text "Story One" appears as a hyperlink but when clicked does not switch to the document 2. It does nothing apparent when clicked.
Looking at the XHTML source for the first document, it is immediately evident why. The filename for document 2.thml is missing. It looks like this: <a href="#anchor-anchor">
When it should be : <a href="Untitled-2.xhtml#anchor-anchor">
The same thing works if you create a hyperlink instead of a cross reference.
I note then when I use the option to go to the destinate reference in the Cross Link (hyperlink) panel, it does switch to the second InDesign docuemtn. So the cross reference is functioning (in InDesign). But the link is broken in the ePub for the above mentioned reason.
Bug? Something I'm overlooking?

As far as I can tell, it has NOT yet been fixed in CS5.5. I'm having the same problem. I have about 90 hyperlinks to fix.
And the explanation that Teus Dejong gives indicates it's not going to be that helpful: "we have found that only the links in documents split by the CS5 exporter will be fixed. For books the script does only work for references to earlier documents in the book, not for forward references. This means in practice that for most books the script will not repair the links and should be seen as a means to add the year only. At the moment I see no way to repair this, because the book epub output of InDesign does not contain sufficient information to repair links referencing forward to others documents in a book."
It's pretty discouraging.

Podcast Problem - how can i add artwork to apple blog rss link

hi,
i create a wiki blog page on our mac server, on the blog page i add video for podcasting and i enable podcast service on wiki settings. Then i take rss link from safari and i subscribe to itunes but when itunes check my link, there isnt artwork and i cant change the rss link code cause of the link generated automaticly from java. What can i do for this problem or how can i add artwork to apple blog servers rss link ?

The rules are simple: one entry = one page
if an article needs several pages, start this article on blog entry then continue with a page made with welcome page template or blank page template.
you can change the link of the buttons "next" and "previous" to visit the pages you choose.
(select the link > inspector > Link > hyperlink > check enable as a hyperlink > choose "one of my pages" ).
Don't include these other pages in navigation menu.
(inspector > Page > Page > uncheck "include page in navigation menu").

I don't think sapscripts does have the option for entering hyperlinks.

How do I get a 'insert - hyperlink - file' to display in a new web page?

When I insert the link to a downloadable file, that's fine.
But I'm losing my eyeballs because iWeb uses the same webpage to open my downloadable file.
The option to check, 'open in new web page' is not appearing.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You need to first upload the file to your server and use the URL to the file at that location as the link to external page option of the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane. If the browser supports displaying the file type it will open in a new window.

Hyperlinks in PDF to open in non-browser window

Hi there,
First off, this is what I want to achieve, if possible:
1.     Create Word document with hyperlink linking to, predominantly, image files;
2.     Save this as a PDF
3.     When clicking on an image link (hyperlink), e.g. test.jpg it should open the client's default image viewer software and NOT a browser, e.g. Paint or Photoshop or whatever they're using...
Is this possible?
Then... would it then be possible, somehow, to edit the opening of this link so that it either resizes the on-screen panels so that it shows side-by-side, OR open the image on top of the PDF document?

InDesign crashes when syncing book with Hyperlinks in master

Hi,
I seem to have an issue with InDesign crashing when trying to sync a Book (INDB file) with page links (Hyperlinks) in the Master.
Ref. Hyperlink panel > Edit Hyperlink > Link To: Page
I've narrowed the crashing issue down to InDesign only crashing when the Style Source (containing the master with page links), tries to sync with another doc in the Book that uses the master in the Pages panel. Thus I do not get a crashing error if the doc does not contain the master in the Pages panel.
For the pages that did not contain the master on the Pages panel I noticed that the Hyperlinks were labelled differently from the Style Source (ex. "hyperlink 1" from the Style Source would be "hyperlink 2" in the first document synced with it (assuming only one hyperlink present).
If I remove the Hyperlinks (page links) from the master, the error no longer occurs for any of the pages.
I put the links on the Page as opposed to the Master to test functionality and they work as expected. Although part of the reason for having the Master is these links appear exactly the same across multiple pages in the Book.
I've tried to export all my pages as IDML files then re-save them as INDD files to no avail. Did the same to all the files as well with "Save As" which didn't do anything either. I then installed the latest patch I could find: Application Version 7.0.4.553 (See all InDesign Patches), which also did not work.
Not sure if this is a bug or if what I'm trying to accomplish should be done differently.
The links in the Master need to link to the first page of select docs in the Book. Similar functionality to how a rendered table of contents would behave.

I had the same problem, and it turns out that the problem is having the same file into different folders. For example I had an MP4 in iTunes, and the same file in the photos folder that was being updated to the iPad. So I just removed one file and it syncs perfectly.
