Links in linked local .htlm files work i IE, but not in Firefox.
I collect genealogy data in tables in local .html files.
Links in every .html page to parents, families and verifications.
The first link works OK, but if I click on a link in the already linked .html page, Firefox hangs.
Using links in this manner works OK when I use IE.
If this problem is policy related, please advice a method to bypass the policy.

Java works on chrome but not on firefox
Java works on Chrome but not Firefox. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Chacked all appropriate boxes in Control Panel. Deleted JavaReg.Dat. Enabled plugin. Uninstalled all Java from my computer and reinstalled. Cleared Firefox Cache. No luck.
Do you see the Java plugin in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins ?
Firefox is a 32 bit application, so you need to install the 32 bit Java version.

Paste image from clipboard works in Chrome but not in Firefox
Hi there,
I would like to know a bit more about the technical reasons why image pasting from clipboard works on Chrome but not Firefox.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the text editor on github.com, e.g. by commenting on an issue
2. Copy an image to clipboard
3. Put the mouse cursor into the text editor area
4. Use CTRL+V to paste the image into the text editor
On Chrome, the image is pasted and automatically uploaded on Github. On Firefox nothing happens.
Can someone please shed light on this lacking feature?
I would so much love to see support for this on Firefox as it is a very convenient functionality.
Thank you!The best is to try it yourself I guess.
Go to Github and try pasting an image into the compose editor.
The editor definitely supports image pastings. They work directly in Chrome(ium).
Thus I am wondering why Firefox does not support direct pasting from clipboard into the editor.
See the attached screenshot regarding the editor I am talking about. -
XML (RSS) Spry Dataset File Works in Preview But Not Over Internet
hello
I am trying to build a custom feed reader using the Spry framework in Dreamweaver CS4 and everything seems to go smoothly until I actually host the file (with the accompanying js and css files) and try to view it over the internet
previewing from DW shows everything working the way it should
I feel like I am missing something obvious ... but not sure what
thanks for any help!Hi, i have a similar problem..
These URL returns a XML:
1) http://www.bolsadesantiago.com/intradayServlet?symbol=IPSA
2) http://www.valorfuturo.com/contenidos_vf/proyectos/clientes/penta/titularnoticias.asp
I use a CS4 and both works in preview, but only first works over internet (IE7).
I suspect that 2° has a problem of syntax XML, but work with jQuery. -
This site works in Safari but not in Firefox
This site works fine in Safari but not in the latest version of Firefox on 2 of my computers:
http://ase.tufts.edu/biology/labs/levin/resources/books.htm
I've cleared cache, restarted, etc. - no good. On Safari, I see a bunch of tiled thumbnails for various books on Amazon. On Firefox, I see absolutely no thumbnails, just rows of text and horizontal lines (I can't figure out how to upload attachments here).Aha! Restarting without add-ons fixed it. I must have something that blocks iframes with links to Amazon books. Thanks!

Mouseover works in IE but not in Firefox
I have 2 pages in my new site that use a mouseover to show
hide layers. Both pages work in IE, but only one works in Firefox.
The code appears to be the same, but this is first time I've done
this, so I may be missing somethingThose pages get ugly fast if you increase the text size in
your browser.
This is the price you pay for using Layers as a primary
layout tool.
Also, it's a very bad idea to use file/pathnames that contain
spaces -
Images/Rollover Navs/Divisions Blue.jpg
This could be the reason your rollovers are not working in
Firefox (they
don't work in Safari, either).

When trying to install adobe plugin, it fails, as does trying to do it manually. When trying manually, it says to close firefox then it will work but it doesn't. Again, when under IE, adobe flash works but I prefer Firefox.
In step one you would have downloaded that file, if Firefox is using the normal configurations you should find it in the same location where you download any other files.
To find out where Firefox downloads files, in the options window go to the general panel and it should show where files are downloaded to. Alternatively if Firefox stores the history of downloaded files, open the downloads window (you can do that by using keyboard shortcut Control+J), right-click on the install_flash_player.exe entry in the download window and select "Open containing folder" -
SWF files work in browsers, but not local?
I can view flash content from the net in web browsers, but
the swf files I have on my local hard drive do not work. They are
asking for 'open With' but when I look for the flash folder in
programs files its not there. I have have also looked in system32
folder can find it anywhere. Can anybody please help, this is
driving me up the wall.The code you have posted is not the same code as used in:
<div id="gallery">
in the link above.
The reason that the Flash is not displaying in FF is that the portion of the code used by FF was omitted. The code currently used on the page only works in IE.
I'm no great fan of the IE conditional statements used in the code you posted so I don't blame you for not using it. But you do need to provide something for FF.... the old, out dated method would be to add and <embed> for FF... here's the newer method..
So either use code you posted above or better yet, get rid of that and replace the current <object> with
<div id="gallery">
<object id="FlashID" data="flash/201.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="958" height="242">
<param name="movie" value="flash/201.swf">
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
<param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0"/>
</object>
</div>
Give that a try. Will work in both FF and newer IE versions.
Best wishes,
Adninjastrator -
Nav hover & visited links works in IE but not in Firefox, Chrome, etc.
I created 2 side-by-side horizontal nav bars below the header tag with div tags and css. The left nav bar uses different colors than the right one. The load, hover and visited colors all work fine in Internet Explorer. When I test them in Firefox, Chrome, Opera and hand held devices, this is what happens:
If I click on any of the links in the right nav bar, all the links in the right nav bar turn to the visited color.
Or, if I click on any of the links in the left nav bar and all the links in both nav bars turn to the visited color.
Thanks!Did you define a full set of link states for the #left and #right sidebars? It could be that some other links styles are cascading down to your sidebars. Another way to insure good cross browser results is to define link states in the following sequence: aLiVHAF = a, link, visited, hover, active, focus (optional for keyboard users)
CSS:
#left a {text-decoration:none}
#left a:link {color: red}
#left a:visited {color:gray}
#left a:hover,
#left a:active,
#left a:focus {color: green}
Repeat same rule order for #right sidebar

the protocal that works in IE is
P:\My Documents\2010 Workshops\Nashville Brazeway\Nashville_Workshop_2010.docx
This drive is shared and opens in IE but Firefox gives msg
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (p) isn't associated with any program.You need to use the file:// protocol, but you may still encounter problems if you fix that.
