Links in Signature?

How can I place a link in the mail signature? Following instructions edit>link>add won't work for me. It just prints the url text.

I could not make it work with Text Edit either. The best way for me was using the application Composer, either from within the Netscape suite (if you still have this around) or from SeaMonkey, which is the same. But you'll have to open the saved html page in a browser window and then save it as a Web Archive to be exchanged with the same titled file in your Mail/Signatures folder, as described in the link above.
I guess there are other html apps that allow you to design with an WYSIWYG interface.
Something like below you may be able to adapt to your needs: (without the<!-- -->)
<!--
<html>
<head>
<meta content="text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1" http-equiv="Content-Type">
<title>HTMLSignatureForMail</title>
</head>
<body>
First Name Last Name, Address<br>
Phone Number<br>
<a href="mailto://[email protected]">e-Mail Address</a><br>
<a href="http://www.facebook.com/">My FaceBook Site</a><br>
<a href="ClickHereToGoToMyFaceBookPage"><img alt=""
src="http://static.ak.facebook.com/images/welcome/welcome_3.gif"
style="border: 0px solid ; width: 190px; height: 90px;"></a><br>

  • Links in Signature's

    Hi Everyone,
    I am posting this thread, as more of a voting forum wherein we take a call on whether links after signatures should or should not be allowed.
    For e.g - when a person signs after writing his reply or giving a answer he can put a signature like -
    <name>
    <www.website.com>
    or
    <name>
    <www.name.facebook.com>
    or
    <name>
    <[email protected]>
    But the site moderator's delete the links as they find it unnessary. Now if the link is in the middle of the post they can remove it but if a person wants to sign with his link, should he be given atleast that much courtesy for answering a question or posting a reply.
    People would prefer to share their e-mails, blogs, Facebook profile, linkedin profile, web sites, etc. It adds a personal touch and also lets other know who the person is.
    Let's us discuss via this thread how the links would be a positive thing to the forum and how it will form a part of personal signatures in the future.

    I am not sure what your expectations are that will happen, but I want to
    make sure you understand that these forums are not a democracy. You are
    welcome to raise issues that you feel should change, but in the end
    Adobe, by the voice of our BDFL, decides on policy issues.
    For e.g - when a person signs after writing his reply or giving a answer he can put a signature like -

    It isn't so much a matter of necessity as it is a matter of value. Links
    you want to add are judged on the value they add for the readers. First
    by everybody who reads the message and has the opportunity to use the
    report abuse link to report such links as spam, second by the moderators
    who act upon those reports.
    People would prefer to share their e-mails, blogs, Facebook profile, linkedin profile, web sites, etc.
    Shouldn't we take a 180° different direction? Is it about what you want
    others to see (that sounds very much like advertising), or what others
    want to see about you?
    If it is about the discussion, put it in the message. If it is about
    you, put it on your profile page where interested people can still find it.

  • Web link in signature's

    Is there any way to add a hyper link/web link to signatures?
    Cheers, Slowstdy

    As regards the problem with inserting a link into a signature, the work around you've suggested might be one answer. However, the Apple mail application seems to promise something more than that.
    On the menu bar go to "Mail," then "Preferences," then "Signatures" and then fill in the text box with whatever you want to appear as your signature. If you highlight the part of that text that you want to hyperlink and then click on it a menu will appear. Sixth from the bottom of that pop-up menu is a command labeled "link" which in turn leads to a command labeled "Add."
    Unfortunately, that's where the good news ends. That sequence of steps, if done in the message portion of any e-mail, will result in a cool little pop up window that allows you to specify a web address. However, in the "Signatures" text box the "link" command fails to invoke the pop up window. Evidently in this context the feature is not properly implemented.
    My guess is that this is an issue Apple will need to address in an upcoming fix.

  • Links in signature don't always work

    Hello all, new to the discussion boards. I am having trouble with my email signature's hyperlinks. At times when I am replying to an email, the links in my signature don't appear as links. When I compose email, they always look the same and work the same. It only seems to happen on replies, and not every time. Is there any reason why this is? Thanks!

    I typed the email address in just as it is, i.e [email protected]
    Hmm …I just typed in mine and it worked flawlessly.
    As for creating a graphic signature, there is a way to do that. Take a look at this topic <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7492503&#7492503>; be sure to read the whole thing, because there are some twists and turns in getting it to work.

  • Links in signature don't work

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having trouble getting the links in my Mail signatures to work. Nothing happens when I click on the email and website addresses that I've added to my signatures.
    I added my email and website address in Mail > Preferences > Signatures, but no luck. I also tried copying both addresses from a Word doc (from where the links worked) and pasting them into the Signature window. Nothing.
    Any ideas?

  • Mail.app, Link on signature-icon does not open URL

    In a mail-signature I have a FaceBook-icon with a Hyperlink to a FaceBook-site.
    - This link works not in a received message, when the recipient is Mail.app on Yosemite.
    - With Mail.app on Mavericks it works well.
    Behaviour:
    - Double-Click opens the attached picture, but not the URL in the browser, as expected.
    - URL ist shown correctly on MouseOver
    ... sometimes, condition are not reproducible ....it works :-(
    To create the link I used the method as described at.  http://mac-fusion.com/clickable-social-media-icons-in-your-mail-app-signature/
    Can anybody confirm this behavior?
    Any workaround in creating the Hyperlink - or is it a bug?

    Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Add links in signature file?

    Adding links to text is very simple in Mail, but it simply doesn't work in signatures. Instead, an Open dialog appears, and if you navigate to a webloc file, the webloc opens in a Safari window!
    I've also tried pasting text that already has a link- no good.
    Does anyone know how to add a link to text in a signature?

    this is a bug introduced by safari 3 update. it actually used to work. Now the only way I know how to do it is using the workaround in this post

  • LR5 Watermarks presets saved but linked png signature file lost...

    hello,
    I work recording the lightroom settings/presets in library folder rather than in the os user settings.
    I switched from PC (7) to Mac (Mavericks) and I could open my catalogs on mac keeping the majority of my settings and preferences. Except for watermarks: I had 5 watermarks presets with png signature file, they are still listed as watermarks presets, the settings are retained but the graphics signature file in PNG watermarks disappeared. Some of the png were outside watermark's presets folder, some were inside, result is the same, all disappeared.
    I think I can not recover them and will have to do them again, that's not a so big problem, but to avoid this in the future, what do you advise me to keep the watermark PNG files stored with the settings info?
    Thank you!

    Thanks for the idea Rikk,
    I tried to save a new watermark preset, i have my .lrtemplate new file in "Watermarks" preset folder, but linked png is still not copied in the catalog presets folder, and nothing new appears in the folder you indicate, on mine i just have "Library>Application Support>Adobe>Lightroom", but no "Watermark Sources"
    So i also tried to create this "Watermark Sources" folder and copy my pngs files inside, reload lightroom, open an old catalog where i had watermark presets; the pngs still not appear.
    I have to leave but still open to any other ideas : )
    Thanks

  • Cisco ips link update signature automatically ?

    Dear all,
    I would like to know what address or link that we need for update IPS 4240  signature automatically from cisco.
    In our IPS config show this link. is  it correct ?
    user-name sabirins1978
    cisco-url https://198.133.219.25//cgi-bin/front.x/ida/locator/locator.pl
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Budy

    Umm, I tried to access both links..
    I could access the page using the link with one slash (https://198.133.219.25/cgi-bin/front.x/ida/locator/locator.pl), but I couldn't access the page using the link with two slashes (https://198.133.219.25//cgi-bin/front.x/ida/locator/locator.pl) with the error message: "The Page you requsted is not available".
    So, which on of the the correct one ?
    Is the license just needed in automatically-updating the intrusion signature (not including firmware/engine update) ?
    How long approximately is the signature update released periodically by Cisco ?
    Regards,

  • Apple mail and logo with links in signatures

    Well anyone knows the code for implementing a logo (pdf, jpeg) with a hidden link to a website, in a signature.

    Hello Lars.
    Since the Mail.app does not support complex HTML composition, it isn't easy but there is a workaround provided in this thread.

  • Link in Signature

    I know how to add signatures to email, but how do you add a link below your name? I have tried copying and pasting a link into the signature set up box (in Preferences), but it only shows up as a line of type and not highlighted like a link would be so the people reading the email could click on the link.
    Thanks, Allie

    Actually, it is highlighted in the received message, but not in the draft you create. Send yourself a message, and you'll see that a valid URL is an active link in the copy you receive.

  • IChat .Mac name link in signature?

    Dear all,
    I am wandering, if there is a possibility to kind of integrate my .Mac name in my e-mail signature in way, that if somebody klicks on it, his/her iChat/AIM opens and takes my .Mac name up in his/her buddy list, respectively starts a chat.
    Currently - of course - e-mail clients recognise my .Mac name as an e-mail address.

    Has anyone figure out how to create an html based signature, that way you can have a gif on a server with you actual signature.

  • Linking specific fields with signature

    I am new to this so please forgive my ignorance...I have a form that I created with Designer 7.1 and it has 5 different sections on it each with its own signature object. How can I or am I even able to link the signature of each section with the objects(text fields, check boxes, etc) in that section. So when you sign that section, that section then becomes read only. This way the form is able to pass between 5 different people who all need to sign the form.

    Unfortunately, all I have is view access to these tables.  When I click "add command" and put in working SQL I get this error message.
    "Only an ET or null statement is legal after a DDL Statement" The sql that I am adding works just fine in the TeraData SQL Assistant and figured just adding it in as a sql command would work.
    In a previous post on a TeraData forum I saw something referring to the addition of a BEGIN TRANSACTION simple sql END TRANSACTION; DDL;
    What am I doing wrong and can this be remedied?
    Here is the help I received in the Teradata forum
    " I am not familiar with Crystal Reports but I can tell you what the message means.
    Your session is running in BTET mode and you have started a transaction (BT;), or Crystal Reports did. Then you/it submitted a DDL statement (database Data_DB). Then you/it submitted the select statement in the same transaction. You need terminate the transaction after the database statement (ET;). All DDL statements have to run as a single transaction. You might want to determine why Crystal Reports is running everything as one transaction. Maybe there is an option to generate each statement as a single transaction. That is what SQL Assistant is doing for you. "
    Has anyone experienced this message and know a way around it?
    Thank you.
