Links work but Blue Question Mark on rollover?

I'm totally new to dreamweaver CS4. I transferred my iweb website into it.
On only 1 page (others don't have problem) all the text links look totally fine until I put my cursor on it and then it changes to the blue question mark.
The links work fine and as far as I can tell all the files (png/jpg) images and rollovers appear to be in the correct folders.
I tried moving the templates outside the main directory and it worked at first but then not.
All the mouseover code looks like this:
onmouseover="IMmouseover('shapeimage_2', '0');"
...and one of the web pages has the same code and does not have this question mark problem!
Thanks for your help in advance!

"Studio311_Services.html"

  • Blue question mark icons

I made my site on iweb and everything looked fine. But after I publish, for some reason some of the links come up as blue question mark icons instead of the hyperlink. All of them are text links. One is a link to an external page, one is a llnk to one of my pages, and the other ones are links for emails.
What's confusing me is the fact that the link to the external age and the link to one of my pages is on the same page. However there's two other links exactly like them on the same page and those two are fine. I looked through the forums and read about the fact that some images might've not gone through. But the funny thing is that I looked through the files and html code and the links that are working don't have any images associated with them. The links that are NOT working however do have images made. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Post your URL and the users here can take a look at what you're seeing. Is this in Safari, Firefox, AND IE or just some of those?

  • On my MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks.

On my new MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks. This also happens on a website editor. But, when I am connected to the internet via Wifi, everything load properly. This is my work computer, so I have to be able to connect through the Ethernet cable to access everything. Please help me!

I mostly use Safari. But I also tried it on Firefox, Mozilla, and Camino. Mac OS X. It's my work computer, so I've only tried it at the office. I have to be connected through the Ethernet cable to access my files and email on the server.

  • Images show up only as blue question marks

I just purchased a new Macbook Pro approximately one week ago, and concitering it's BRAND NEW I don't understand why I have this problem. On sites like www.deviantart.com and also www.weheartit.com images show up as blue question marks... I have downloaded both chrome and firefox to check if they were any different, but the same images wont load there either. I've read some about this, but no one seems to have any other advice than to "check preferences" and set it to "show images" or something, as far as i can see there is nothing wrong with the preferences. I have also downloaded and updated to the latest versions of both java and flash, but nothing seems to work. This is getting really frustrating, and I am desperate for help! I greatly appreciate ANY advice. Thanks in advance

this is what I get on deviantart
and well, basically this is weheartit
    Thanks!

  • Dreaded blue question mark

I am running Mail 2.0.5 and have a problem with just one person who sends me messages with images imbedded that won't open and aren't listed as attachments. All I get is the blue question mark which seems akin to the red X in Windows. Attempts to copy the image don't seen to work. He uses Earthlink as his ISP. I have never had this happen with any other person who sends images. I do have "display remote images in HTML messages" checked. I'm stumped, my Mac friend is stumped, and an answer to the puzzle would be most welcome.

Are the embedded images stored on a remote server which must be downloaded/rendered when the message is opened?
If not, the "display remote images in HTML messages" checked will not resolve it.
Are these forwarded messages that were received by this person and if not, why can't this person attach the images to the message instead of being embedded?
This may require the person not using HTML for message composition but it shouldn't make any difference regarding the option to attach the image files instead of being embedded.

  • Blue Question Mark(s) of Death

At random times on Facebook and with various ads, I'll get the dreaded blue question mark in place of a thumbnail. It's annoying as **** and I've never found a fix for it. I've reset Safari, emptied the cache, but it's not just Safari-related: it's happening in Opera, too. I tested it out on a Dell and everything was OK, but my five-month old MacBook Pro can't seem to handle images. What can I do?

This thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1334564) seemed to have worked the problem out by adding "ISP DNS servers to the Network settings."
Since I have the same AT&T 2Wire router, I went to their site and added the two DNS servers to my Network list (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/2588). I suppose Safari's a bit faster, but I still can't see the same images.

  • Getting blue question mark for images in Safari

    Hi guys
I have MBP 15", early 2011, 250 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM, 10.10 Yosemite OSx and I am facing problem recently is that some images in Safari 8 browser won't open and instead blue question mark will arise . I have friend of mine using ipad2 and I asked her about this issue but the images opened with her smoothly. any suggestion. Thanks

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Yes - email & text work fine but when I use something like Google Images or search a blog with imbedded photos I get the empty white boxes with question marks.  If I click the question mark it opens the photo but I can't possibly do that for EVERY image on EVERY page I search!?!?!  I've rebooted the iPad & my wireless card several times but neither action helped.  Have any clue what I should do now?

  • Dashboard Widgets: All I get is blue question mark where QT should be

    Hello,
I have tried installing some interesting Widgets but many of them fail to operate. If there is a QT element to the Widget, all I get is a big blue question mark and the letter 'Q'...as though I'm being told that Quicktime is needed but the widget can't find it. I know for a fact that Quicktime is on my iMac (how could it NOT be?), so what problem am I suffering from and how do I remedy it?
    Thank you!

Well, it works even on Dialup here, no QT box.
I'm not clear on what you mean by 'Repair Permissions.' What's that?
    Easiest way...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when complete.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

  • Blue question mark in a box

pictures in my email on my Ipod Touch just started showing up as a blue question mark in a box but were working fine yesterday

    Hi Rex,
Who is your ISP and what addresses do you have set in the DNS section of your System Preferences -> Network preferences?
Have you tried logging into a different user account on your machine to see if that has the same problem? This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> [+] to create a test one (and [-] to remove it if needed)
Also, do you use any third party internet software (Norton, Intego, etc.)?

  • Blue question mark email attachment

hi, could someone help me out...
I just set up a yahoo email account on my iPhone so I can send pictures etc. The set up was fine, however I just sent one of my iPhone's pictures through the mail and received the email with attachment, but upon opening, the picture is not displayed and a blue question mark appears in its place. Surely the iPhone is able to show the picture format it sends?!
So where am I going wrong? Any help appreciated!

Yeah, I am having the same problem on my wife's ipod touch. It is connected to her yahoo email and some emails with jpeg attachements come through fine but other do not. She can always view them properly through the web browser on the imac but the ipod touch email just shows the blue question mark for some jpegs. The really weird thing is that jpeg images I send her from my iphone are in the category of the ones that don't show up. I've been searching a bit and haven't found an answer yet... hopefully someone here will have one for us

  • That little blue question mark

I place a hyperlink to 'sending an email' and publish. On the published site a small blue question mark appears however the link is active. Why doesn't the email address show up as on the page in iWeb?
    Any ideas?

The little blue question mark on your published pages as viewed in a browser usually indicates that an image was not loaded. You may have to reload the page in order to force the image to download. It might also help to empty your browser cache (Safari>Empty cache) and/or add a "?" to the end of your URL to force the browser/server to fetch a fresh copy of things.
