LinkSys Canada website

I purchased a WRT54GL V1.1 and had problems with the WAN port dropping the connection. I borrowed a DLINK 1310 and it had no such problem. I ensured that the firmware was current by visiting the Canadian LinkSys site. It showed that version 4.30.11 was current. I spent an error day with LinkSys support 2 chat sessions (waste of time) and 3 phone calls only to discover on the 3 rd phone call that the current firmware for this router was in fact 4.30.12! Yes the Canadian site has outdated information for this product since it showed 4.30.11! ARRGGGH

In some cases, launch firmware is not posted to the website as many users will automatically attempt to load it on their routers even though they have a fully functioning product with the same version already loaded.  In rare circumstances, the firmware update will actual break the device creating an issue where one did not exist previously.

  • How Could I access Linksys setup website?

    Dear All,
Linksys used to have a link website to help me to setup the wireless network. its IP address is 192.168.1.1. but now I can not access the IP address. I do not know why?

When you open your internet browser in the address field you type in http://192.168.1.1 which is the defuale IP for the router. Depanding on your OS you can go into your Control Panel>Network Connections then double click on your LAN/wireless network icon then go to Details and that will show you what your Gatewat IP is set to. The Gateway IP is the routers IP. Look there to see if your routers IP has been changed for what ever reason.
    >If it is still set to 192.168.1.1 and you still can not get to the UI then hard reset the router and reconfigure it. When you get into your router make sure it has the latest fiemware installed. You can go to the Linksys web site to see what the lates firmware is and download it if needed.

  • Epass , govt. of canada website, no safarians

This is the error I receive when accessing :
    http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/eservices/tax/individuals/myaccount/register-e.html
    Warning to Mac Safari users
Unfortunately, access to epass Canada using a Mac Safari browser is temporarily unavailable. A recent software update distributed by Apple Computer Inc., caused an incompatibility with epass security components. Every effort is being made by epass Canada and Apple Computer Inc., to resolve this issue and restore your access to epass Enabled services.
Until Apple Computer is able to provide a software update solution, epass Canada will be unable to support any Mac browser access. Please visit the Apple Computer support site at www.apple.com/support/ to obtain the latest updates before attempting to access epass Canada.
With a solution expected in the very near future, your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
This has not ever been fixed, would like to know if someone has a solution,or are they just passing the buck to Apple. Thanks.

    Hi John,
I was able to access the site using Safari 1.2 and Safari 1.3 with no problems.
When you type in that command in the terminal, make sure to quit Safari first. Then type in that command (terminal won't respond to your request - in this case it's not necessary to anyway). Open Safari again and a debug menu should appear on the far right side of the menubar for Safari.
Resetting Safari will clear cache/history/autofill/cookies and will open a new window once it's completed with your homepage.
On the site, it recommends the following settings for Safari. You might want to give a try. I can access the site just fine here in Maryland.
How to adjust your Safari 1.2 settings?
    Enabling Java/JavaScript
Select Safari from the browser Menu bar
    Select Preferences on the menu
    Select Security
Where it says "Web Content" select the following (Enable plug-ins, Enable Java, Enable JavaScript)
    Enabling Cookies
Select Safari from the browser Menu bar
    Select Preferences on the menu
    Select Security
Where it says Accept Cookies select either Always or Only from sites you navigate to
To see the cookies you have accepted, click Show Cookies. From there, you can remove cookies.
For the new settings to take effect, click Exit or close your browser.
    Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • Linksys / Cisco website continuously broken?

Is the best we can ever expect from Cisco / Linksys is a set of poor web pages which are unintuitively linked to one another, which have broken download for years at a time, and with web services which are down without explanation? Does Linksys / Cisco REALLY want us to think that we don't deserve better? Never mind the horrible security of these devices. Never mind that Cisco / Linksys would rather we throw our older devices in to landfills every time a backdoor is discovered in our devices. Can't you people at LEAST fix your damned web pages and KEEP YOUR WEB SERVER UP so we can at minimum get to the last supported version of the firmware you offer? Look at this problem:https://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/WRT54G2-V1-Firmware-Upgrade-Issue/m-p/606136 That was from January, 2013. Guess what? Going to the same web page for the WRT54G2 to try to download firmware STILL takes one to the download page for the WRT54G, NOT the G2. Where's the page for the G2? It's been a year and a half! Not only that, but homesupport.cisco.com / www.linksysbycisco.com / start.linksys.com are down. What year is it? It's 2015, and Cisco / Linksys can't keep a web server up? I'm sorry that some of the people I support were naive and bought Cisco / Linksys products. It won't happen again.

Thank you. If Cisco has completely finished screwing Linksys, then those links should be removed from the site. Also, there's no reason that start.linksys.com shouldn't work. FYI, http://www.linksys.com/us/ leads here: http://www.linksys.com/us/support-product?pid=01t80000003K7XLAA0  The "Latest Updates" link at the bottom, under "DOWNLOADS", takes people here: http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=148648 That's the page for WRT54G downloads, NOT for WRT54GV2 downloads. Linksys? This problem was reported in 2013.

  • I could exchange information with the VIA RAIL Canada website before 8.0 but no longer (Safari works OK). Is this a new bug with issue 8.0?

On website viarail.ca is a form to request train and fare info. I could do this OK before I upgraded to Firefox 8.0, but not since. It doesn't accept Origin or Destination input. I hate Safari but it does work!

  • Are the Prices shown on Apple canada website same as in the apple stores .

Like on educational discount the price of Macbook pro MGXA2 + Apple care protection is 2258$ . Will it be same in a retail store . and will there be tax charged.

There is no difference (usually) between the storefront price and the online price.
Tax is charged where required by law.

  • Linksys WRT54GS and the 'no IP' Problem

I have a MBP that I connect to my home network via a wireless router (LS WRT54GS) When I upgraded to OS X 10.4.8 I suffered the same woes talked about here many times. I finally could get connected by ensuring that I never turned off my MBP w/o turnig AP off first. However, even that failed completely after I made the mistake of upgrading my router firmware fm 1.50.8 to 1.50.9 Simply, do not do this. It results in an inability of the MBP to get an IP address. Look at the 'Hot Support' topics on this site. There is no solution at this time for the WRT54GS if you want to use DHCP (I spent hours with a Linksys tech) I was lucky - I had a copy of the 'old' firmware (it is no longer avail fm Linksys) If this happens to you the only solution is to re-install the ver 1.50.8

I have been trying to download PDF Visa forms from the Canada Application for Visitor Visa website and everytime I click on a form I get this message:
TO VIEW THE FULL CONTENTS OF THIS DOCUMENT, YOU NEED THE NEWER VERSION OF THE PDF VIEWER.  YOU CAN UPGRADE TO THE LATEST VERSION OF ADOBE READER FROM WWW.ADOBE.COM/PRODUCTS/ACROBAT/READSTEP2.HTML

I already have the latest version of Adobe Reader XI and I do not get the PDF form.
Can anyone lend me a hand??  I do believe that it is the Canada website that might have a glitch, but they don´t have a ¨contact us¨ to be able to tell them that they need to fix the site.
    What else can I do???

This means that you are using a browser that uses its own, incompatible PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin.  See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • How come siri doesn't find places, restaurants or maps in canada  .

how come siri doesn't find places, restaurants or maps in canada .I am so angry that apple says that siri does all of that but forgets to say USA only !!!!

It is dissappointing that Siri location services are available in only a few countries. However, Apple never said that it was available everywhere. It is a beta service and they never even had a trace of Siri on the Apple Canada website. They even removed it from the video clips and everything. I consider myself lucky we can use it at all (reminders/calender dates/texts/websearches etc.) we have to wait patiently for our Country to be added. It will probably take a little while due to having 2 national languages.

  • Why are the new iPhones much more expensive in Canada?

Looking at the Apple Canada website I see that the iPhone 5C is priced from $599 (yes - 500 and 99 !!), whereas the US price is $99.  The difference for the 5S is similar.
Why this huge discrepancy, and will it be corrected soon?  I certainly don't plan to get one anytime soon if not.

Thanks for that.  I didn't take enough notice of the fine print, but it's odd that Apple should advertise it differently on the US and Canadian online store websites.
I will wait and see what (if any) deals come along via my carrier.  I'm due for a new phone anyway.
