Linksys/cisco EA3500 / N750 - configuration VPI/VCI

I need help for configuration of the router ea3500/n750. In the configuration dont show the option PPPoE LLC for set the option Virtual Path Identifier (VPI) and Virtual Circuit Identifier (VCI). Without it I can not connect to my provider.

I suspected that. I read one time that It's possible change the settings of the router with the tampermonkey(one add of google chrome). I will seek of that. Anyway thanks very much.

  • SR520 vpi/vci prob

    Hello,
    We've recently ordered a bunch of sr520's and started configuring them, but the problem we faced is that the ADSL service provider has the VPI/VCI configured on 100/100, and i've realized that the max VPI value available in the sr520 is 31 as a 5bit Number instead of the normal 255 as an 8bit number, which makes it impossible to connect to the internet.
    Is there anyway to increase the VPI value to meet the 100 value?? or should we just through out all the sr520's and the next orders that includes them?
    Especially since we're moving towards a heavy SMB (Cisco's Express) marketing campaign, and this campaign involves demonstrating live.

  • How do I make airport time capsule work with Linksys cisco router?

    Hi all.
    I bought an airport time capsule 3T and want to connect it to the internet, using a macbook with OS X 10.9.2. Currently I am using a Linksys Cisco router model WAG54G2.
    I followed the steps of the setup airport guide: Connected the WAN port of the airport with an ethernet port on the router, plugged in the power cable, filled in the internet username and password. In Airport Utility I can see the airport and the internet icon, both with green dots most of the time. But it seems to disconnect every minute or so, green dots turning orange and the status light on the airport flashing orange. The internet light on the linksys also goes on and off. When the internet is on, it is quite slow.

    No guarantees here. AirPort Utility 6.3.1 is a big drop down from the 5.x versions in Leopard and Snow Leopard.
    Hold in the reset button on the back of the Time Capsule for 9-10 seconds and release
    Allow a full minute for the TC to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
    Click the AirPort icon at the top of the screen and wait a few seconds for a listing of New AirPort Base Station to appear. Just below that, click on Time Capsule.
    The example below shows an AirPort Express. You will see Time Capsule.
    As soon as you click on the Time Capsule, AirPort Setup will open up automatically and take a minute to analyze the network....and probably suggest that the Time Capule will be configured to "extend"....which is wrong.
    Click the Other Options button at the lower left
    Click Add to an existing network
    Next to Connect To.....select the wireless network name from the drop down list....if it appears. Otherwise type in the exact name of the wireless network.
    Click Next
    Confirm any settings again and wait to see if AirPort Utility 6.3.1 will allow the Time Capsule to join the wireless network.
    You have about a 1 in 5 chance that this will occur.
    Post back on your results.

  • Linksys Cisco SRW248G4P 48-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch Help

    The switch which is a Linksys Cisco SRW248G4P 48-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch, was configured by a contractor which was long ago run off, and the documentation left behind to log into the switch is incorrect. How can we reset this switch so we can configure to the new required settings?
    I have attempted to go in through the web browser gui, and no luck logging in via factory default creditials, cannot log in using any of the common admin creditials, nor can we get in via the documented admin name and pw the contractor left.
    Attempted ot go in through the console, that doesn't work right at all. Takes 15-20 min before I start even seeing user name or password boxes.  Cannot type a single thing into those boxes.  I have set the hyperterminal to com1,  38400, 8, none, 1, hardware.  It kinda lets me see some of the log in screen, but will not let me type into the username whatsoever.
    Logging via web browser I see all the login option but not a single username or pw works. Please if anyone can help, this has been an issue which is now critical.

    When you finish configuring the HyperTerminal, the Login screen appears. The first time you open the Console Interface, use the default username admin and leave the password blank and press the Enter key. You can set a password later from the User and Password Settings screen.The Main Menu screen displays six menu choices: System Configuration Menu, Port Status, Port Configuration, PoE Configuration, Help, and Log Out.
    User and Password Settings, IP Configuration, File Management, Restore System Default Settings, Reboot System and Back to Main Menu.
    To restore the Switch back to the factory default settings, select Restore System Default Setting and press Enter. A confirmation message appears asking Are you sure? [Y/N]. Press the Y key to continue or the N key to cancel the action.
    System Configuration Menu options: (Which is where you will need to go) consist of: System Configuration, Management Settings
    After pressing Y, at this point reboot your system and it will be back to Factory Fresh.

  • When is Linksys/Cisco going to fix E4200 problems??

    All the problems started when I upgraded from a WRT54G (never had a problem with this router over several years) to the E4200 (v1.1.02)  a couple of months ago. No problems with any of the wired connections of course, but all my wireless 2.4 GHz connections had problems immediately -- decreasing signal strengths (no matter how close to the router) and eventual loss of connectivity.  I tried all the conventional solutions like switching channels, checking for interference, moving the router to "higher ground" where it could vent heat better (this baby really runs hot)  and be unobstructed,  etc., but the only thing that would cure the problem was to reboot the router, usually once or twice a day.   I checked the forums and found that lots and lots of folks were experiencing this behavior. I finally discovered that if I disabled the 5gz band the 2.4 GHz connections would no longer be dropped (by the way, once they're dropped, the only way to get back is to  reboot the router; eventually the router state is such that nothing can connect to it).  Still tends to have signal strength loss over time but at least we're running consistently.  The other problem I'm experiencing is that if I get more than about 30 - 35 feet away, there is a significant decrease in signal strength.  
    I bought this router for (1)  the gigabyte ports for my wired machines; (2) increased signal strength for my wireless devices at greater distances; and (3) the dual band capability to handle the 5 GHz spectrum as those devices become more prevalent.  Well, 1 out of 3 is pretty pathetic performance for what is a relatively expensive high end router from a  company that until now I had a confidence in their ability to produce technically sound hardware. 
    I may be way off base here, but based on over 40 years experience in IT, this appears to be part of a larger trend where the bottom line seems to be dicating the rush to market of inadequately tested hardware and software. 
    Linksys/Cisco -- can you please acknowlege these problems and what the current plan and timetable is to fix.  The E4200 has been in the market place for a while now and I still don't see a firmware upgrade.

  • Linksys Cisco WVC210 Network Camera - Problem

    Hello Cisco Members,
    I have problem with one Linksys Cisco WVC210 Network Camera.
    When I Power ON, the PowerLED blinking, other 3 GreenLED light and on LCD Display have nothing.
    I make 30 seconds push resset button, 30 seconds power OFF and havent result. When I connect it to
    Router with DHCP, this camera can not take IP Address... I do not understand where is a problem with
    this camera.

    Try power on and after 90 seconds go to the Browser and type in 192.168.1.99 (assuming you are on the 192.168.1.xx LAN network) and see if you are able to get to the firmware page, if yes try reload the firmware, if you are not then I would recommend returning the product by getting in touch with Cisco's Tech Support and get an RMA number and instructions on returning the product and get a replacement.

    Is the best we can ever expect from Cisco / Linksys is a set of poor web pages which are unintuitively linked to one another, which have broken download for years at a time, and with web services which are down without explanation? Does Linksys / Cisco REALLY want us to think that we don't deserve better? Never mind the horrible security of these devices. Never mind that Cisco / Linksys would rather we throw our older devices in to landfills every time a backdoor is discovered in our devices. Can't you people at LEAST fix your damned web pages and KEEP YOUR WEB SERVER UP so we can at minimum get to the last supported version of the firmware you offer? Look at this problem:https://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/WRT54G2-V1-Firmware-Upgrade-Issue/m-p/606136 That was from January, 2013. Guess what? Going to the same web page for the WRT54G2 to try to download firmware STILL takes one to the download page for the WRT54G, NOT the G2. Where's the page for the G2? It's been a year and a half! Not only that, but homesupport.cisco.com / www.linksysbycisco.com / start.linksys.com are down. What year is it? It's 2015, and Cisco / Linksys can't keep a web server up? I'm sorry that some of the people I support were naive and bought Cisco / Linksys products. It won't happen again.

    2 - communicate within the local area
    The second WLAN I need for several NDAS devices.
    Due to their own LPX-Protocol these NDAS devices don't work properly with MAC address cloning. In combination with several access points or clients from other manufacturers Wireless N transmission does not work.
    So in WLAN 2 I use the Cisco Linksys WRT 610N Router with 2.4 Ghz WLAN.
    I intended to use the Cisco WAP4410N in Client Mode to connect a workstation with this router and set up NDAS connection.
    Other workstations will directly connect to the router via Cisco Linksys WUSB-600N.
    The connection from WUSB-600N to WRT610N works perfectly.
    My problem is:
    The WAP4410N does not connect to a wireless Network in Client Mode.
    (It is not a problem of Channel configuration, Security or Signal strength - because if I connect my workstation via WUSB-600 this works instantly.)
    If setup as an access Point it will start up sending competing to my router.
    In Network Status it shows no received packages.
    In Wireless Client/Repeater Mode there is no connection either.
    My question is:
    Is the WAP4410N not designed to be used as a Wireless Client?
    An if it was - how is it to be set up as one?

    Hi Sylla,
    The static route you have configured for Internet access needs to be corrected:
    route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.48 1
    The next hop address should be your ISP's gateway IP address and not the ASA's outside interface IP. Currently, both are configured for 192.168.1.48.

  • Cisco ASA 5505 Configurations. Help... Beyond Frustrated

    I'm fairly new to Cisco products and Network management in general. At my place of employment, I was hired as an IT Tech- Repair and Building computers, most aspects of Physical networking, and software refresh/upgrades as well as solving compatibility issues among a plethora of other things. I've configured APs, a couple Catalyst switches, a router or two, and that is about the breadth of my Cisco knowledge. I was kind of thrown into a project which is to update the current inventory of computers which all run Windows XP Professional. We are making a capital purchase of 20 Laptops and 40 Desktops all of which will run Windows 7. This means the outdated PIX they were using is now useless. I purchased a Cisco ASA 5505 (Version 8.2(1)) because it is compatible with Windows XP and Windows 7. I have spent several days and sleepless nights trying to figure out how to configure this thing. I was hoping to use SSL for the VPN. I did some basic configurations just to get started but like I said, I have no real experience with Adaptive Security Appliances and I am so frustrated right now. I tried using the Wizard to no avail. I did a write erase using CLI and tried to configure that way but I'm doing something wrong as far as I can tell. The configurations were mostly pulled from here, the Cisco Community, and a couple other web sites.
    I’m connecting the ASA 5505 to a cable modem (gateway 24.39.245.33) and to our Netvanta for VPN purposes. Here are the commands/what I have configured so far:

I don't know how to set the DNS lookup from a static port and I have no idea what else I'm supposed to do after the above configurations I have done. Is there a place to actually obtain ALL of the configurations needed to VPN in? Is there an easier way to make this thing work? I've seriously grown a patch of gray hair because of this device.     First I would suggest to use the Cisco VPN client instead of SSL VPN (AnyConnect). The configuration is a bit simpler and for the SSL VPN you would need to install the client on the ASA and purchase additional license if you plan to have more than 2 clients. The VPN Client usually comes with the ASA. If you dont have it or dont have access to download it from cisco.com go to the person from which you purchased your ASA and ask him how to get it.
    That said, I also think that your ASA lacks of some basic configuration as of now.  If you are planning to use this in replacement for your current PIX. You would need to configure a default route and some basic NAT:
    route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 24.39.245.33
    global (outside) 1 interface
    nat (inside) 1 192.168.0.0  255.255.255.0
    Now regarding the VPN Client configuration you would need to something like this:
    Create an isakmp policy:

    Create a couple of ACLs that we will use later:

    Create crypto map and do a NAT 0:

    Finally create a user that you will use to connect:

    Then you would need to configure your VPN Client to connect with the ASA.
    Here is a config Example of VPN clients to the ASA. It uses an external server for the authentication but just skip those parts. For the initial config you might want to keep the authentication local.

    I have 10 Cisco 1242 wireless Ap in my Office. 04 of them will be relocated in a different place where we dont have any DHCP server. I would like to configure those AP's as DHCP provider for their associated clients.
    Is it possible I know but I dont know how to accomplish that.
    Is there anyone who can answer this? If yes please let me know this from which option CLI or Web view I can configure those AP's?

    check Cisco how to guides for step by step configuration just follow the instruction and you can easily  configure the setup also when you first open the ISE there is an option for express setup (Auto config) but i would suggest for the guide (link given below)

  • Cisco ISE managing configuration

    Is there a built-in mechansim for revision control in Cisco ISE? If not built-in, then what is the other way? I have been trying to look for documentation online but didn't find any.
    Just to explain what I am looking for:
    A way to properly manage all the configuration changes to ISE node.  Changes are  usually identified by a number or letter code, termed the "revision  number". For example, an initial  set of files is "revision 1". When the first change is made, the  resulting set is "revision 2", and so on. Each revision is associated  with a timestamp  and the person making the change. Revisions can be compared, restored, and with some types of files, merged.
    I ask this because "show run" output in ISE CLI does not give all the configuration details. How can we maintain the history of configurations?

    There is not a way to track which version a specific ISE configuration is on. The ADE-OS configuration, or cli configuration typically is static once the repositories, dns info...etc is all set and done. For the application database you can setup a timer where an automatic backup is generated, from there you can manage what dates a backup is good for.
