Linksys / Cisco website continuously broken?

Is the best we can ever expect from Cisco / Linksys is a set of poor web pages which are unintuitively linked to one another, which have broken download for years at a time, and with web services which are down without explanation? Does Linksys / Cisco REALLY want us to think that we don't deserve better? Never mind the horrible security of these devices. Never mind that Cisco / Linksys would rather we throw our older devices in to landfills every time a backdoor is discovered in our devices. Can't you people at LEAST fix your damned web pages and KEEP YOUR WEB SERVER UP so we can at minimum get to the last supported version of the firmware you offer? Look at this problem:https://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/WRT54G2-V1-Firmware-Upgrade-Issue/m-p/606136 That was from January, 2013. Guess what? Going to the same web page for the WRT54G2 to try to download firmware STILL takes one to the download page for the WRT54G, NOT the G2. Where's the page for the G2? It's been a year and a half! Not only that, but homesupport.cisco.com / www.linksysbycisco.com / start.linksys.com are down. What year is it? It's 2015, and Cisco / Linksys can't keep a web server up? I'm sorry that some of the people I support were naive and bought Cisco / Linksys products. It won't happen again.

Thank you. If Cisco has completely finished screwing Linksys, then those links should be removed from the site. Also, there's no reason that start.linksys.com shouldn't work. The switch which is a Linksys Cisco SRW248G4P 48-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch, was configured by a contractor which was long ago run off, and the documentation left behind to log into the switch is incorrect. How can we reset this switch so we can configure to the new required settings?
I have attempted to go in through the web browser gui, and no luck logging in via factory default creditials, cannot log in using any of the common admin creditials, nor can we get in via the documented admin name and pw the contractor left.
Attempted ot go in through the console, that doesn't work right at all. Takes 15-20 min before I start even seeing user name or password boxes. Cannot type a single thing into those boxes. I have set the hyperterminal to com1, 38400, 8, none, 1, hardware. It kinda lets me see some of the log in screen, but will not let me type into the username whatsoever.
Logging via web browser I see all the login option but not a single username or pw works. Please if anyone can help, this has been an issue which is now critical.

The settings for connection using Hyperterminal through the Console port should be:
Bits per second: 38400
Databits: 8
Pairity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: None
When you finish configuring the HyperTerminal, the Login screen appears. The first time you open the Console Interface, use the default username admin and leave the password blank and press the Enter key. You can set a password later from the User and Password Settings screen.The Main Menu screen displays six menu choices: System Configuration Menu, Port Status, Port Configuration, PoE Configuration, Help, and Log Out.
User and Password Settings, IP Configuration, File Management, Restore System Default Settings, Reboot System and Back to Main Menu.
To restore the Switch back to the factory default settings, select Restore System Default Setting and press Enter. A confirmation message appears asking Are you sure? [Y/N]. Press the Y key to continue or the N key to cancel the action.
System Configuration Menu options: (Which is where you will need to go) consist of: System Configuration, Management Settings
After pressing Y, at this point reboot your system and it will be back to Factory Fresh.

How do I make airport time capsule work with Linksys cisco router?

Hi all.
I bought an airport time capsule 3T and want to connect it to the internet, using a macbook with OS X 10.9.2. Currently I am using a Linksys Cisco router model WAG54G2.
I followed the steps of the setup airport guide: Connected the WAN port of the airport with an ethernet port on the router, plugged in the power cable, filled in the internet username and password. In Airport Utility I can see the airport and the internet icon, both with green dots most of the time. But it seems to disconnect every minute or so, green dots turning orange and the status light on the airport flashing orange. The internet light on the linksys also goes on and off. When the internet is on, it is quite slow.
Advice is welcome!

No guarantees here. AirPort Utility 6.3.1 is a big drop down from the 5.x versions in Leopard and Snow Leopard.
Hold in the reset button on the back of the Time Capsule for 9-10 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the TC to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the screen and wait a few seconds for a listing of New AirPort Base Station to appear. Just below that, click on Time Capsule.
The example below shows an AirPort Express. You will see Time Capsule.
As soon as you click on the Time Capsule, AirPort Setup will open up automatically and take a minute to analyze the network....and probably suggest that the Time Capule will be configured to "extend"....which is wrong.
Click the Other Options button at the lower left
Click Add to an existing network
Next to Connect To.....select the wireless network name from the drop down list....if it appears. Otherwise type in the exact name of the wireless network.
Click Next
Confirm any settings again and wait to see if AirPort Utility 6.3.1 will allow the Time Capsule to join the wireless network.
You have about a 1 in 5 chance that this will occur.
Post back on your results.

When is Linksys/Cisco going to fix E4200 problems??

All the problems started when I upgraded from a WRT54G (never had a problem with this router over several years) to the E4200 (v1.1.02) a couple of months ago. No problems with any of the wired connections of course, but all my wireless 2.4 GHz connections had problems immediately -- decreasing signal strengths (no matter how close to the router) and eventual loss of connectivity. I tried all the conventional solutions like switching channels, checking for interference, moving the router to "higher ground" where it could vent heat better (this baby really runs hot) and be unobstructed, etc., but the only thing that would cure the problem was to reboot the router, usually once or twice a day. I checked the forums and found that lots and lots of folks were experiencing this behavior. I finally discovered that if I disabled the 5gz band the 2.4 GHz connections would no longer be dropped (by the way, once they're dropped, the only way to get back is to reboot the router; eventually the router state is such that nothing can connect to it). Still tends to have signal strength loss over time but at least we're running consistently. The other problem I'm experiencing is that if I get more than about 30 - 35 feet away, there is a significant decrease in signal strength.
I bought this router for (1) the gigabyte ports for my wired machines; (2) increased signal strength for my wireless devices at greater distances; and (3) the dual band capability to handle the 5 GHz spectrum as those devices become more prevalent. Well, 1 out of 3 is pretty pathetic performance for what is a relatively expensive high end router from a company that until now I had a confidence in their ability to produce technically sound hardware.
I may be way off base here, but based on over 40 years experience in IT, this appears to be part of a larger trend where the bottom line seems to be dicating the rush to market of inadequately tested hardware and software.
Linksys/Cisco -- can you please acknowlege these problems and what the current plan and timetable is to fix. The E4200 has been in the market place for a while now and I still don't see a firmware upgrade.

Linksys Cisco WVC210 Network Camera - Problem

Hello Cisco Members,
I have problem with one Linksys Cisco WVC210 Network Camera.
When I Power ON, the PowerLED blinking, other 3 GreenLED light and on LCD Display have nothing.
I make 30 seconds push resset button, 30 seconds power OFF and havent result. When I connect it to
Router with DHCP, this camera can not take IP Address... I do not understand where is a problem with
this camera.

Try power on and after 90 seconds go to the Browser and type in 192.168.1.99 (assuming you are on the 192.168.1.xx LAN network) and see if you are able to get to the firmware page, if yes try reload the firmware, if you are not then I would recommend returning the product by getting in touch with Cisco's Tech Support and get an RMA number and instructions on returning the product and get a replacement.

If both are same , are they supports for VLAN?? Can use them in a VLAN environment?? Can anyone tell me the SFP for multimode and single mode which will work with SLM2024, and SLM2048 switches??

I've been given the task of blocking access to certain websites, facebook, youtube, etc

Ive entered the web addresses in the Website Blocking by URL Address boxes on the internet access policy page but it doesnt seem to work no matter how i do it.
Ive tried to deny internet access but that shuts of all internet access.

Trying to Upgrade but Website is Broken in Many Places

Hi all,
I have the starter DSL and wanted to bump it up to the next level.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to do so. I can log into the verizon site, and go to My Account, and I see two links that take me to http://www.verizon.net/renew . That page doesn't even exist. And these links have been here for months.
Buried in the same page is another link, https://www22.verizon.com/ForyourHome/Registration/Reg/OrLogin.aspx
This is even more frustrating. It takes me to a "Add of Change Services" page. It asks to log on (dispite already having been logged on in the previous page). So fine, I do it. Click "continue".

which reads "Manage your account online, anytime. Sign on or register now."
What? A second, different sign on in a row? Ok grr. Sign into THIS page. I'm quite good at typing it now.

Now I have to ask... are times that tough? Is the CEO's (bad at internetz) kid the webmaster? This is really bad. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence in committing to a year of service does it? I want to give them money, and can't. Are they going out of business?
I've tried this around 10 times (no joke) in the past 2-3 months. And it's been messed up every single time. I've tried it on different computers, different operating systems. My Iphone too, and it does the exact same thing. This is either the website is totally broken, or my account is.
Anyone able to get around this problem? Any response from somebody in power to fix this at Verizon (I tried the online chat thing and got nowhere).

Hi frustrated123, I'm sorry for the trouble you've had trying to upgrade your service. It definitely shouldn't be that hard to do so. To get your issue to the correct audience, you should go back to verizon central and click on the link at the bottom of the page that says site feedback and report your findings. Cisco website cannot be displayed

hi all,
The website cisco.netacad.net cannot be displayed after the login page. When I put my username and password in the boxes, i'll go to the cheker page (javascript), but that page is always blank. In Firefox i've the same problem.
I hope it can be solved. The javascript options in Safari i've allready tried.

It sounds as if the Cisco site requires Windows browsers, probably the plug-ins. It does happen that there are sites whose architecture is simply not compatible with Mac browsers. I would write to Cisco: http://www.cisco.com/ciscodotcom/toolkit/submitaquestion.html and complain that you can't log in, perhaps they will do something about it.

Azure websites continues deployment using visual studio online doesn't work

One artist yields a continuous broken link from my External

I store my music on an external hard drive, and import them into iTunes.
However, one artist continues to be a pain by importing in, playing perfectly, then the next day displays broken links.
I do not have the original cd, but the mp3s remain intact on my hard drive.
Here are my guesses.
1. The artist is Sigur Ros, and the band, album, and song titles all have odd icelandic characters. I know this should not matter, but it's just a guess.
2. There is some odd link to a different location on my laptop that continues to break the link.
I have done everything that I'm aware of to fix this but alas...
Any thoughts let me hear from you!

Don't know what version of iTunes you're using, but I also had problems with files that had special characters like Sigur Rós, Róisín Murphy, etc until I turned off the advanced preference to let iTunes organize my files. This was back in itunes 6 or 7, and I haven't turned it back on since.
The files are actually named Sigur Ros, Roisin Murphy, etc on my hard drive. It's the MP3 tags that have the special characters. iTunes kept losing them randomly. Since I've turned off that preference, they have peacwfully stayed linked in my library.

Cisco website software download disappeared

Does anyone know if there is a known problem with the Cisco software download website? I was looking to download the NBAR protocol pack for the WiSM2 but it's no longer listed as an option (WiSM is there but obviously of no use to me). I can get it for my 5508 controllers but not the WiSM2...
I assume that I am searching correctly as I downloaded the 7.6.120.0 software only last week.

It's just not showing up under the WISM2 page. If you go under the 5508 downloads page the latest NBAR2 Protocol Pack is listed there:
"NBAR2 Advanced Protocol Pack 6.4.0 for AireOS 7.6: NBAR2 Engine 13 (pp-AIR-7.6-13-6.4.0.pack)"
If you click on the Release notes for that pack, they indicate:
NBAR2 Protocol Pack 6.4.0 is supported on the following Cisco Wireless LAN Controller platforms:
Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller
Cisco Flex 7500 Series Wireless Controllers
Cisco 8510 Wireless Controller
Cisco Wireless Services Module 2 (WiSM2)
