Linksys E1200 Connecting with Cisco WAP4410n Wirelssly

I have a Linksys E1200 Wifi Router which is connected on LAN Port 1 with Switch. I have enable DHCP through my Server with Internet Connection Sharing.
Now I want to expand my wireless range with 5 WAP4410n in a building.
Can I connect Cisco WAP4410n with E1200 Router? If yes then what will be the WAP4410n AP Mode?
How can I Connect all 5 APs' with same SSID to expand my wireless range?
Moreover, I can access easily to Linksys E1200 on my machines easily within the range but I want to expand the range without the cable.

You might post a direct link to this forum or particular thread if there is informaton on it available.

  • Linksys WAP54G connecting to CISCO ACS via LEAP

I understand that Linksys WAP54G support WPA and 802.1x authentication. Will a cisco compatible client card get connected to the WAP54G via LEAP authentication to a Cisco ACS server ?
    Connection scenario:-
    Cisco compatible client card <-WPA/LEAP-> WAP54G <-WPA/LEAP-> Cisco ACS3.1
Pls advise if such setting is feasible.
    Tks

This is really a question for Linksys support. The Cisco wireless BU has no involvement with the Linksy's product line. They operate as a totally separate wholly own subsidiary of Cisco.
As for LEAP, no, to my knowledge the Linksys AP does not support LEAP, which is not tested or part of the WPA certification program. To my knowledge the ONLY APs that support LEAP are Cisco Aironet APs.
If the Linksys supports WPA-Enterprise, then any client that supports WPA-Enterprise should work using EAP-TLS. The Cisco ACS server supports EAP-TLS.
    One word of caution. Early CCX cards do not necessarily support WPA. The CCX specification and certification were out before WPA was released. You will need to check with the actual vendor of the card to verify WPA compatibility.;
Also there are two types of WPA. WPA-Personal, which supports only the WPA encryption, and the keys are handles by a Pre-shared Key input system (no radius server) and WPA-Enterprise, which is certified using WPA encryption an 802.1x EAP-TLS radius server (in fact using Microsoft and Funk Software servers). make sure that the Linksys supports WPA-enterprise, or it may not support 802.1x.

  • Mac mini not keeping connection with Cisco wireless access point

I am trying to get my wife's Mac Mini to keep it's connection with the wireless network at her school. They are using a Cisco access point (not sure of the model) which works fine with my G4 Powerbook and the numerous Macbooks being used there, but for some reason her Mac Mini drops the connection after 4 or 5 minutes, at which point she needs to log right off for it to reconnect (as opposed to just turning the card off and on again). I have already gone through the deletion of the Networkinterfaces.plist file, and recreation of the Airport card profile process, but this only kept the interface active for about 36 hours, then it was back to the same old problem. At this point I am thinking "flakey card"...before I ship it off to Apple, can anyone offer any other possible solutions?

After spending time on the phone with a Apple support technician, he indicated that the Iphone has a compatibility problem with the wep key encryption that the Cisco appliance uses. I find this disturbing being that Cisco is the biggest in network gear. What's UP Apple? We need SP1 for the IPHONE!!!

  • Linksys WRT300N Connectivity with Proper Settings

I am a computer tech and have worked with Linksys products for years. Over the last year or so, I have had so much trouble, I cannot explain it. I have a client who purchased a Linksys WRT300N that I initially setup a few months ago. It is connected with cable modem from Linksys. Hardwired, the speeds are just fine. I have the most recent firmware and setup lower threshhold levels and such to gain better wireless signal, performance. The only computer I am having trouble with is one using the WUSB300 adapter. The computer is XP SP3 and using the most recent driver. I even installed the Linksys utility and tested it, to no avail. This desktop is right around the corner from this router, it works well with a Mac, but it will not be read by the desktop WUSB300. I did release/renew, uninstalled/reinstalled, checked everything and the adapter will not get a good signal plus it doesn't get assigned an IP and continues with the 169.xx.... I rebooted the modem then router, and then rebooted computer. The initial connection worked then gone. It never held and this is around the corner. For the Mac, I did a speedtest.net and with a strong signal, and Wireless N only, I received less than DSL lite speeds but hardwired, I achieved up to 15000kbps. I cannot explain what is happening. The router has the most recent firmware, there is no interference since transmitting N only, and I did the proper settings that previous posts commented on, to get better signal strength. What am I not seeing? Why would the speeds be so slow, from doing at least 6 tests over an hour? Also, why would I not get an ip address from one N router to another N device, by the same manufacturer? Sorry for the frustration here, but I recommended this equipment a year ago and Linksys has been very disappointing in its results. These N products are unreliable. Some work and most don't...I am learning. j

I have a one year old Macbook and I assume a first generation built in N wireless card. If, in fact, it is a Draft 1 adapter, does that mean I should use the 20Hz band instead of the wide 40Hz? Thank you for the advice. SMR1

  • DMP 4400G RS 232 connection with Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N

    Hi everyone,
I know that this question was kinda asked before, but I still have trouble setting the DMM to control the Cisco  LCD 100 PRO 40N (Samsung) through the DMP RS 232 connection!
I have searched  and read every post on this forum, tried everything  ("Samsung_MDC_RS232_Protocol_Ver-21.pdf" & rs232.tx_hex= ) but with no avail.
We  have DMS VmWare Demo (Signs&Cast 5.2, Show and Share 5.2) and 4400G  with 5.2 firmware.
Also, I've connected the Serial  RS232 9-Pin Female to Female that came with the TV onto the DMP 4400G  and into the TV RS232 IN port, configured the DMP Display Control in the  Advance Task tab as you can see from the attach picture, and set the TV  type to Cisco 40N and Power ON and another task for Display OFF. What  am I doing wrong here!?
Any input will be  greatly appriciated!

With DMS 5.2, this pretty straight forward as your JPEG attachment shows.
Take a look at the documentation...
There may have been some steps you missed...
    For 5.1 & 5.2....
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_1/dmm/user/guide/dsm+etv.html#wp1718477
    * Connect RS-232 cable to the DMP and the LCD.
I believe either RS-232 port should work for the LCD.  I thought the FRONT port (closet to front of TV)
was an IN\OUT port.  And the BACK port was just an IN port.  I used the BACK port for my testing.
    * next, you NEED to ENABLE ON RS-232 controls on the DMP first.  From the DMM, issue the
"Advanced Task--> System Task --> RS-232: Control Supported, non-DMTech displays" for the DMP(s)
in question.   By default, RS-232 controls are disabled.
    * Create 2 new System Tasks in the Advanced Tasks Tab.
    Turn ON  - Cisco LCD = rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010111
    Turn OFF - Cisco LCD = rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010010
    * Once RS-232 Control is Enabled & the New System Tasks are created, You can now issue the LCD Turn On & Off
tasks from the DMM-DSM DMP Manager.
Note:  You can combine RS-232 commands using the "Control TV"  tool on the DMP Manager List Zone.  The "Control TV"
is designated by the TV with Antenna Icons in the DMP List Tool bar.

  • Troubleshoot connectivity with Cisco MDS 9124

    Hello,
I recentrly discovered that it's become impossible to connect to a CISCO MDS 9124, neither with SSH nor with Serial connection.
What should i do please to resolve that issue please?
    Regards!

    Hi,
Are you able to access the 9124 by Device Manager, web browser, telnet, or ssh when your laptop is directly connected to the mgmt0 interface and your laptop configured on the same subnet as the mgmt0 interface?
What console settings, console cable, terminal emulator application are you using and does it work with another MDS9000?

  • VLAN with Cisco WAP4410N an Cisco SG300-28

    Hi,
I am trying to configure my WAP410N with two SSID's on two different VLAN.
SSID 1 should be using VLAN ID 1 and SSID 2 should be using VLAN ID 20
I have a Cisco SG 300-28 switch wich I have configured with to VLAN, ID 1 and 20. ID 20 has port 20 and 21 assigned to it.
I also have a firewall with a DMZ-port and a DHCP server running on the DMZ-port.
Cabling OK.When I connect a PC to port 21 on the switch and my DMZ-port on the firewall to port 20 everything works fine - I get IP from the firewall and i can access internet from the PC with a DMZ adress.
Wireless problem. When I connect to SSID 1 on the AP I get IP from my server on the LAN wich is correct, but when I connect to SSID 2 I get nothing. It seems like the DHCP from the firewall does not travel trough the AP.Although the fact that I'm not getting any adress from my LAN server probely means that I am on the VLAN in some way.
    Anyone has any idea?
    Regards
    Mikael

    Hi David,
    Thanks for your answer.
I have tried to set up the wirelesscard with a static IP - it does not work. I can not ping anything execpt myself.
It seems to me that i am on the VLAN 20 when i connect to SSID 2 but I am not able to find VLAN 20 in the switch. It is just as the AP is not attached to any network.
I will look at the DHCP relay options on the switch and try that.
    regards
    Mikael

  • Slow connection with Cisco Aironet 1040

I have been racking my brain for a while and cannot figure out why I am not getting 144Mbps out of my Aironet 1040. I was reading a previous thread (
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2141961) and set it up exactly like it said. I have set the encryption to Cipher AES CCMP and set the SSID to open authentication. I also set the SSID's key management to enable WPA (WPAv2).
I was reading that WMM has to be set. I have 3 options: Disabled, Legacy, and dot11d. If i chose dot11d I have to put in a coutry code. Problem is there are no options in the country code pull down. I cannot even manually type it in.
Another problem is that cell phones cannot connect. It keeps saying authentication fails in the log.
Any reason why I am having such slow speeds?

WMM is enabled by default, or at least it should be.
What type of client are you using?  Check the specs of the WNIC, and see how many spatial streams that it supports.

  • 802.11n connection with Apple Macbook Pro

    Hi,
I have a 2009 Mac book pro notebook. I would like to purchase a router that would allow me to create a wireless network to which I can connect at 802.11n speed.
My understanding was that, at least until recently, Apple had their own version of 802.11n that was not guaranteed to connect to non-Apple routers.
Can any/all recent current 802.11n Linksys routers connect with Mac Pros using 802.11n?
    Thanks

You can go for Linksys "N" Routers..Some good model no are WRT160N,WRT320N,WRT610N...

  • AIR-AP1141N connected to Cisco linksys E1200

Does anyone know if it possible to get dhcp service to an AP1141N when it is connected to  > Cisco Linksys E1200 > cable modem?
The AP gets an IP for the BVI1 interface, the client associates but I get no IP assigment for the client.
    What am I missing?
You may be wondering why I am doing this considering that the linksys is already wireless router. It is just a test to see if it possible. The linksys provides IP's and internet access just fine when the AP is not in the mix.

At one time I had a netgear wireless router and I was able to make this work. I replaced the netgear with the cisco linksys E1200 and now I cannot get it to work.
Attached is the AP config that I used when the netgear was in use.
The only think that is different now is that the IP addr that is assigned to the BVI1 interface.
The default gate on the netgear was the same as you see here.

  • Connecting a Cisco linksys E 2500 as an access point with my Apple time capsule

Is it possible to extend my network using a Cisco linksys E 2500 with my existing time capsule.  My main source for the Internet goes to my time capsule and I have two airport express and want to add the Cisco router.  I want to put this router by my entertainment center where I have yv etc. that need to be plugged in.  I extended my network by using the airport express with no issues but need the extra Ports to plug in all the equipment that's why I want to use the Cisco Linksys.

The Cisco cannot extend the wireless of the Apple router.. sorry it is impossible.
You can use the Cisco as a switch but then again you could buy a switch for a few dollars and use that with the express.
Do you feel brave.. well do ya'
Flash your E2500 to dd-wrt and face the consequences.
    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E2500
It can then be used as universal wireless bridge or repeater.. I do not recommend this.. IMHO universal repeater is lousy and you are asking for years of bad wireless dropouts. But it is possible.. vaguely .. to do.
Better use EOP (homeplug) adapters.. and wan bypass or APmode the E2500.. that is very viable.
Best.. use ethernet to the area and use the E2500 as a switch and wireless AP.

  • Vizio smart Tv won't stay connected to my linksys e1200 while playing Netflix

I have a Vizio Smart TV and just over the last couple of days I cannot seem to get it to stay connect to my Linksys e1200 router.  I will start a movie on Netflix and it will play for about 10 minutes and then disconnect.  I talked to somebody in Cisco Linksys Customer support and they said that the problem had something to do with IP Addresses.  I have no idea what he was talking about.  All I know is last week I could watch an entire movie without losing connection and this week it only stays connect for 10 minutes and then I have to turn the TV off to re-connect.
    Ideas?
    Thanks

Umman, is your Smart TV wirelessly connected to the router? There may be an interfering wireless signal in the area that interrupts the connection. Try changing the router's wireless channels to avoid interference.

    Hi Guys,
Anyone with the above issue - suddenly now my internet keeps loosing connectivity.
Is it the ISP fibre issue or the cisco linksys e1200.
    Any feedback appreciated.
    many thanks in advance

To properly isolate on which device is not working properly is to disconnect the router from the setup and connect your main computer directly to the modem (via Ethernet cable). You can observe the internet connection through the modem for at least 24 hours. If you find that the modem is working fine (stable) then the problem is with the router. So what you can do is reset the router (pressing and holding the button down) for 15 seconds and power it down for also 15 seconds. You re-configure the internet connection on the router after that. Set the wireless settings, too, like change the SSID, set the channel to something else and make sure that wireless security is enabled. You use WPA2 for wireless security on the router.

    Thx for answer
I tested it and it works as Wireless Client - computer connected by ethernet wire is OK, everything works (DHCP etc)
but when i turn on " Allow wireless station to associate" in WAP4410N settings of "Wireless Client/Repeater" it doesn't work at all
I mean clients on wireless side and on wire side too ( DHCP doesnt work , there is no communication )
