  • Linksys Easy Link Advisor usage

Is it possible to input info to this server. I do not want to install Linksys Easy Link Advisor (LELA) to client computers as I do not want to share that info with client users.
I do however want to gather more information on how these clients connect to my network. Now I kind of know which ones connect wirelessly and which ones wired. I also know which ones connect through the access point rather than directly to the router.
What I want to do is either install LELA-like software on these client machies for them to automaticaly transmit their info to the network (so that my LELA can pick it up) or manually input this info into LELA on my end.
Also a way to modify the images of individual items would be nice.

You can go through this link and check if that helps you.

Only one problem is that the Icon for Easy link Advisor dosen't appear, I have to double click on the Icon on  my Desktop then it starts on the task bar. • Linksys Easy Link Advisor for WRT310N Wireless Router after upgrading to Windows 7 (64bit)

I can't reinstall Linksys Easy Link Advisor for WRT310N Wireless Router after upgrading to Windows 7 (64bit).  When I went to Linksys site for solution for new drivers, it asked me for Hardware Version Number.  This model doesn't show one.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

Sabertooth is right. If you are able to go online from your Router then you don't need to install LELA software on your Computer.

  • Is the linksys easy link advisor 3.0 LELA compatible with my WRT54GS Version 1 wireless adaptor

    Hi
I just upgraded to windows 7 and I am trying to reinstall my wireless security using WEP with the Easy link advisor 3.0 but keep getting a message that says the method or operation is not implemented. When I was running XP and the older version of easy link I had no trouble setting up the security and adding computers to the system. Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    Exit the Program,
Try to edit the compability, right click on the program icon/properties/ check the compability to run on windows xp2.
    Hope this help.

  • Easy Link Advisor

I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router that I had setup and installed no prob on my desk top, then I moved and was having internet problems so I decided to just uninstall all the soft ware off of the computer and restore the factory defaults on the router and reinstall the whole thing from scratch. Now when I go to reinstall it I can't get the software for easy link advisor back which I really want. last time it installed the software during the install part but when I put in the CD and click setup then one of two things happen
    1. if the router is already hooked up it skips the setup and goeas right to configure which doesn't get me my software
    2. if the router isn't hooked up and I go through the install where it says step by step how to hook it up when I get to install part and it tells me there's no ethernet connection to the computer which is impossible because i'm online now and it works when I have it hokked up before the setup
I can use the router but I just want Easy Link Advisor Back it was agreat app and when I try and down load it off the internet it just tells me TO USE THE SOFTWARE THAT CAME WITH THE **bleep** THING!
I've called customer service but the call gets sent to india and I can barely understnd him through the accent and they tell me they don't support LELA their own software! If you know anything please help.

Download the software from the web site www.linksys.com/easy or you can try set up wizard from www.linksys.com/downloads.

  • Uninstall easy link advisor software from windows 7

    Hello,
I installed a wrk160n using easy link advisor on a brand new windows 7 laptop.
My experience with getting the router to work with my cable modem has not been very satifactory.
I would now like to uninstall the easy link advisor, but get the following error message:
"Service 'linsys updater' (linksys updater) could not be deleted.  Verify that you have sufficient privleges to remove a system service.
I am logged onto the laptop with administrator rights.
What is the problem with getting the linksys software off a windows 7 machine?
    Thank you,
    Tom

No expert on windows 7, but I would assume that you may neeed to run the uninstall program as administrator. In vista, you can do it from the right click menu, but the easiest proly is to just log in as the actual admin.Even though I got admin rights in Vista, this stuff gets quirky.
If all fails, maybe you can try to remove the service manually (google to see how).

  • Get error message when setting up wireless on WRT160N using easy link Advisor

I get this message - ERROR - EXCEPTION has been thrown by the target of an invocation -  when trying to get new laptop hooked up to lyncsys using easy link advisor

What's the Operating System of the new computer? I've read on this link that the Linksys EasyLink Advisor (LELA) connection wizard can connect computers running on Windows XP, Vista, or 7 to the network.
If you keep on getting the same message, manually connect the computer to the network. Here's the link to manually retrieve the wireless password.

  • Problem installing Easy Link Advisor

I have Vista and when I start the setup of LELA, it says runtime error, invalid picture. I have a new computer and it was installed on my old one with XP, What's the problem?

Lela is the problem.  It is not needed for anything and causes problems.

  • Easy Link 1.6 no longer works and latest version states will not work with my router

I have the WRT54G router (version 8.00.2 firmware) and the Easy Link Software I got with it no longer works correctly (version 1.6), saying I am not connected to the internet even though I clearly am connected.  (I theorize that it tries to connect by pinging Linksys and I cannot ping Linksys using any method, so I think Linksys no longer accepts pings.)  I downloaded the newest version, thinking it would work, and the forum states it will only work with a few routers that are more recent (I bought mine in Jan 2008.)  Am I out of luck, with no verion working correctly?  I appreciated the information that was found in the Easy Link Advisor software that I no longer have.

You are a legend!!  I have spent countless hours uninstalling, reinstalling itunes, playing with firewall settings, reading articles on this problem!!  I only have to un-sync my iphone 5 and then the airplay icon magically appeared!!!  Maybe I have too many devices syncing via wi-fi, or maybe it is the Iphone syncing??
Whatever - one step and now I can enjoy my music through my house again!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

  • Materialized view refresh using connected user db links

I have a general question. I have a materialized view that more or less joins tables from 2 databases.
For example I have a table X in database A, and a table Y in database B. I create the materialized view in the schema owning table X in database A. Tables A & B from both database are in the same schema with a synchronized password. My materialized view is created to join tables A & B using connected user DB links, and everything works when I create the view, however, it appears that the refresh is failing. I suspect this is because of the connected user link and there is no "logged" in user when the refresh occurs.
Does anyone know if it is possible to create a materialized view between 2 tables in different databases to refresh using a connected user DB link?
    Thanks.

    sybrandb
Why does it not make sense to have materialized views accross databases?
If a materialized view is essentially a remote copy, then wouldn't that imply accross databases? The only thing I did was to take it a step further and join it with a local table in the owning database.
About not being right about not having a connected user., that may be right, but I have a thought/question..... I equated this as using connected user links in jobs scheduled via dbms_job or dbms_scheduler, as when this runs there is no user connected to the database to provide remote credentials for the link... Essentially this seems to be like a cron job that fires on some schedule (whether a user is connected or not), it would seem to me that it might need to have credentials defined in order to be able to connect to the remote database.
    Thanks

  • TSeries LAN connection issues across fibre link

I have some LAN connection issues when getting dhcp or even assigning static  ip to T61 laptop.  Doesn't get dhcp ip settings dynamic and if given staitc, can't ping any system on network nor can systems ping it.  DHCP is at main site and this laptop is at remote site. Link between sites is fibre.  All other systems at remote site where is laptop get their DHCP settings as normal.  If I bring laptop from remote site to main site and plug in cable it gets DHCP normal but not at remote site, it doesnt get it, so i know the LAN adapter is good.  What is wrong?, what across WAN link it preventing it? seeing that all other systems at remote site get their settings well.  Thanks in advance.

I was able to resolve the problem. "The following CLI commands have been added to allow devices that do not understand the controller's proxy Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) response without a minimum packet size of 60 bytes to communicate with the controller: show advanced dot11-padding, config advanced dot11-padding enable"

  • Unable to configure Linksys E2500 to use PPPoE connection

I am using the Ubuntu Linux 12.04 operating system and have been able to use the Linksys E2500 router with Automatic Configuration – DHCP setting and my modem in PPPoE mode to use my DSL connection. But I would like to be able to use my router with the PPPoE connection setting so I can use a firmware like Tomato which has more advanced features like bandwidth logging.
I was able to log into the configuration page of my SpeedTouch ST516 modem and set it to bridge mode according to the instructions here: http://www.speedtouch.ca/bridgemode.php
I then tried to set up the router to use PPPoE according to the instructions here: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3687
I get the message "Can not get an IP address from PPPoE" again when I try to set up the connection in step 4. Resetting the router does not help. I also tried running 'sudo service networking restart' and the 'sudo dhclient -r; sudo dhclient' in Ubuntu's terminal but still got the same message.
I double checked that I used right login information and vpi from my ISP. I used the same info to configure the modem to PPPoE mode again so I can connect to the internet. I had to reset the modem back to factory defaults using the reset button at the back to access the modem configuration page after I disconnected the ethernet cable from the router and plugged it into the modem.
Is there a possible bug with using PPPoE with this router? Is there anything else I can try besides what is stated in the instructions linked to above?

    jaymay
"If you are getting an error "Can't get an IP from PPPoE Server", that would mean that it's possible that the account information you've typed in is incorrect or the modem is not set properly to bridged mode. You can test this by connecting your computer directly to the modem and create a PPPoE dialer. If it will let you connect successfully then you are using the correct username and password. If not then you might have to verify the correct info from your ISP."
    > Again, "I double checked that I used right login information and vpi from my ISP. I used the same info to configure the modem to PPPoE mode again so I can connect to the internet." And yes I was also able to connect with a PPPoE dialer and computer directly connected to the modem.
"It could be possible that what you just need to do in the router is to change it's LAN IP address to a different range compared to what you are getting from the modem to avoid IP conflict. For more information about setting up the router with DSL connection, you may refer to this link: Setting up a Linksys router for DSL Internet connection."
    > That link is exactly the same link in my sentence: "I then tried to set up the router to use PPPoE according to the instructions here: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3687"
The router ip address used is set to http://192.68.2.1 which differs from the ip addresses of the modems I tried.
