nseto
thanks.  I tried that but no success.
I changed switches as well but that had no change.
the switch port does not show an active connection when the cat5e cable is plugged in.
yes, I have the cable plugged into the wan port not the PC port on the phone.
I am using the external power not the poe.
it's strange that the phones would not have a hardware reset option.
oh well. I now have a 100.00 useless piece of junk.
appreciate the help.

Got the new AirPort Extreme.  Trying to connect my Linksys SPA941 phone to it.  Mute button flashes so call receiver cannot hear me.  Tested wires..All good. Changed modem..All good.  Had same issue with Linksys router EA4500 i just traded in.  Hoped to fix the issue with Airport.  Same issue is occuring.

One more thing.  I was using the Linksys WRT54G2 router before.  Did not have any issues.  It was going bad on me.

  • Delete existing profile in Linksys PAP2 phone adapter!!!

Can any one please let me know how to delete the existing profile from the Linksys PAP2 phone adapter. It is not allowing to save the new profile. after updating the new profile, it will be there for couple mins then old profile is overriding the new one.
    Please help me with this.
    Thanks,

check if there is something on the Profile Rule paramater under Provisioning tab other than the default /init.cfg then delete it...it is possible that device resyncs to that profile which then brings back the old settings...

  • Which range extender works with the Linksys CIT400 phone?

Which range extender works with the Linksys CIT400 VoIP phone? Can I use any range extender from any other comany or does it have to be one from Linksys? I am not sure if the CIT400 uses standard frequences.
On a side note, where's the forum for the phones? I see one in the archives section which seems to be ready only.

You can use the Linksys WRE54G range expander. For that matter, any 2.4Ghz range expander will work. But what’s more important is what router you would be using the range expander with!! Which router are you using?

  • FAC support for Linksys SPA962 phones.

    Hi
We are running CUCM version 9.1 and few linksys phones are registered to this CUCM
Is it possible to configure FAC code for these linksys phones.
So that before dialing international call, FAC code is required.
Is these phones are supported cisco CUCM FAC features ? Is it configurable ?
    Rgds
    Rajesh Kumar

    Rajesh,
Early media just means it can support a 180 Ringing or 183 Session Progress with SDP in order to establish a media connection prior to the call connect for things such as ringback and playing tones for FAC and such.  What did you see in the CallManager traces for the call?  Can you pull out all the SIP messaging for a test FAC call or just attach a packet capture from the phone?
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Replacement for Linksys CIT200 phone

I have been using Linksys CIT200 cordless phone for years - until today when it died. In case you haven't had the pleasure to use it, it did require to have Skype installed on a computer and it connected via USB (and not directly to a router). I would like to replace it but I don't know with what. All phones that I see on Amazon do not require PC. I don't see how that can work for me for these reasons:
    1) I use add-on software that allows me to record skype calls for business purposes. I assume there is no way to install add-on directly to Skype phone that do not require PC or is it?
    2) How would I do video-calls? With CIT200, I had a choice to initiate a video call from my computer or just a Skype-out call from the cordless phone; all that with one Skype identity.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

There are a few devices that you can find that work with Skype via USB.  I would just do a search for" Skype USB adapter".  I've personally used the Yealink B2K RJ11 and I was satisfied with the device and the price.  If you are comfortable with your Linksys device you can find it online used/new at an auction site for a decent price.  I just checked and you can pick one up  for between 12 to 40 bucks after shipping.
    In response to your questions:
    1.  You would have to have software specifically designed for your phone and its implementation of Skype to do this.  It is highly unlikely you will find something and if it exists with the same feature you are used to.
    2.  With most Skype USB adapters I believe it would very similar if not the same.

  • SPA942 cuts off voice randomly

    Hi everybody,
I am using a Linksys IP Phone SPA942 in the office and when I'm talking on the phone or dialing a number my phone just decides to cut off the voice randomly. Apparently the person on the other side of the line hears me fine, it's just me not hearing them. I tried switching phones but didn't help. I work in a healthcare company and it's really frustrating to ask patients to repeat all their complaints because you couldn't hear them! I would appreciate any help in this regard.

Unless it is broken device then it is network problem. Either NAT or statefull firewall decide not to allow packet to flow from outside to phone.
Catch packets on the wire - if you will see uninterupted bidirectional flow of RTP packets, then phone is broken, if packets dissapear in one direction then network is wrong.

  • Linksys SRW224G4P - Cisco phones dropping calls

I have a Linksys SRW224G4P with POE and I have 10 Cisco 7941 phones plugged into this.  When make calls internal or external the calls drop anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour and I get a message on the phones that says Temp Fail and UCM down Features disasbled.  I use the linksys for phone training in conference rooms.   The linksys is plugged into a catalsyt 4506.  If I plug the phones into the catalyst i have no problems at all so I know its a linksys issue.  Can anyone explain???

The phones want to use CoS tagging. If we do not use an 802.1q trunk, we cannot encapsulate the frame header. Without the encapsulation, there will be no place to put the CoS value.
Since we are talking about an SRW, it will be possible to use DSCP via DiffServ instead. the question will then be will the Catalyst honor/trust the DSCP values it receives from the SRW. I have attached a couple documents that should help you implement this. Two of these I have wrote, the other was written by another engineer and has yet to be "polished". This should be enough to get this done yourself however, should you require additional assistance, you may wish to contact the SBSC at 866.606.1866 and start a case. A WebEx session may be needed to finish the configuration.
I would also disable IGMP snooping unless it is properly configured on the network as it can block CDP.
To sum up, it sounds like the lack of appropriate QoS on the Skinny protocol is casing a disconnected state before the call is completed.
    Hope this helps,
    Christopher

  • CCME with Linksys SPA SIP phones

    Dear all,
I'm currently working out with a deployment which's using the CME (not sure what version going to purchase at the moment)and using the Linksys SIP phone (SPA922). I would like to know whether the SIP phone's is able to register to CME or using the features that provided by CME. I did try to search from Cisco website but couldn't find any related information between two different hardware setup.
    Thanks

Is there any documentations from Cisco which stated clealy that the CCME integration with different brand of SIP phone (at least Linksys) because i don't want to be happen that i buy a "bunch" of Linksys SIP phones and it cannot be integrate with CCME.
It should be better that to have a clear stated docs and can show to the management dept before purchasing.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Using VBA to communicate with a Linksys Handset

    Hi all,
At the organization for which I work, we have various work stations set up with a computers and neighbouring Linksys IP Phone handsets (SPA942).
Our database works with VBA to carry out various tasks we might need.
I'm trying to use a VBA script which is called upon from a client's record to send a "call this number" command to the neighbouring handset. I've been trying to research into exactly how to do this, but I can only seem to find various solutions for 'softphones' working on a VoIP server or solutions that involve installing comlicated software environments. Unfortunately I am limited to only work within the confines of our Database and it's VBA scripting.
From what I have been able to assertain, the handset should be able to accept XML and HTTP POST to send commands to it. This being the case, it should be very doable via VBA. I just can't seem to work out how to get started?
Could someone point me in the right direction?
Or a simple example script on sending a command to a Linksys handset would be great as well!!
    Many thanks
    Julian

I suggest contacting Cisco Tech support to further look into your concern. I believe this unit belongs to the business series devices that Cisco is now supporting. Try to go to this link for the other business series devices and the site where you can get hold of Cisco for support:

  • Linksys Router not loading some pages

I was using the internet on my new IMAC and it was running great. Very fast. I have now added Vonage to the mix and installed a Linksys BEFSX41 router to the fold and have my mac connecting using DHCP and the router logs into my server using PPPoE. Problem is, without the router in place and the mac logging onto the internet I can connect to ALL websites very quickly. With the router in place I can get to some websites but a lot of them Hang and don't load anything until Safari or Firefox time out. I have unplugged the Ethernet cable from the Router during the stall and it quickly tells me that the internet connection was lost so I know that my mac is sensing the internet. I have also removed the modem wire from the router and plugged the Speedstream modem directly into the mac AGAIN (going back to the original settings) and those same sites that lag, load very quickly. What do you think that the problem is?? I've been working on this for days now with no fix. If I lose the router then I lose my Vonage telephone. Info : Running an Imac 20" new last month, Speedstream DSL high speed modem, Linksys BEFSX41 router and a Linksys PAP2 Phone adapter.
Imac 20" Mac OS X (10.4.8) using speedstream DSL Modem, Linksys BEFSX41 Router, Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapter, Running Safari and Firefox with same results. BEFSX41 router has firewall and VPN Endswitch (Which I have no clue what that is or does)
Imac 20" Mac OS X (10.4.8) using speedstream DSL Modem, Linksys BEFSX41 Router, Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapter
Although this is a long message some examples are: Vonage website vonage.ca won't load at all. went to my scotiabank website and get the main page but when I click to take me to the login page that page won't load. There have been many others also. Linksys website I cannot get to the forums page but I can get to their easy answer page but their answers don't resolve my issues. I have not contacted them yet as I have read that they don't seem to want to support Mac users. (this may be untrue but I thought that I would try here first)
Thank you all who try to help me in advance.
Imac 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   using speedstream DSL Modem, Linksys BEFSX41 Router, Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapter

The way you word this sounds to me like the linksys came with the vonage package. If so, they would probably be the best ones to contact for support.
Aside from that, the first thing I would check is the version of firmware you have. Is it up to date? This is the most current version I believe v1.52.10 if I read the website correctly.
Oh and make sure you check on your router first to see what version of the router you have. I see like 4 or 5 different versions listed ... ie ... befsr41 v1, v2, v3, v4, and v4.1. Get the right version of the product first before you download the firware update.

  • LinkSys and CCM5

    Hello
Do i need third party license to register Linksys SIP phone with CCM5?
    Thanx
    Vlad

    Hi Vlad,
    My understanding of adding Third Party SIP Phones is that you just need the normal License units on CCM 5. Have a look at the following;
Add and configure the third-party SIP phone by choosing Third-party SIP Device (Advanced) or (Basic) from the Add a New Phone Configuration window.
Note Third-party SIP Device (Basic) supports one line and consumes three license units, and Third-party SIP Device (Advanced) supports up to eight lines and video, and consumes six license units.
    From this doc;

    Hope this helps!

  • Senior lady needs help getting cordless phones set...

    Hello Everyone,
I have been successful making calls on Skype but I need to get my cordless phones set up with my home number on Skype. I purchased a Linksys Internet Phone Adapter and it shows it is getting power. But there is no light for Phone# 1 where I have the phone cord hooked up.
This is the way I have it hooked up:
A/C power to back of adapter
Regular phone line wire in Phone#1 from adapter to my cordless base unit
Internet cable wire from adapter to my internet router
The CD had no instant setup instructions on it or how to get the drivers off. I found the model number but couldn't figure out how to get the required info in to my computer.
Can somebody walk me through how to set this up? I'm an 80 yr old lady and all these PDF files looks like it would take somebody with an engineering degree to figure them out. Do you remember that old commercial....."Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!" Well.....that's sorta me.
    Can someone please help me?

The PAP2T is not compatible with Skype's standard service.  It is only compatible with SIP providers and is usually more difficult to configure as well.  Skype does support SIP in a business environment with additional hardware at a greater expense, unfortunately that solution really won't work for you.  The only standalone device that I'm aware of that is still compatible with Skype is the Freetalk Connect Me (Talk-12xx).  It is similar to the device you have but it is designed to work solely with Skype's standard service.
I cover the requirements a bit here:
    http://community.skype.com/t5/Hardware/FreeTalk-1200-requires-no-monthly-payment-to-operate/td-p/386...
There is also a walkthrough of that device here:

You can purchase it from the following locations:

  • Remote management (Linksys spa2102)

    Hello,
I have Linksys spa2102 (phone adapter with router), and the quastion is how to use remote control.
I know that in wan settings I have to enable "Remote Management" and port, I also choose static ip and wrote it in fields.
As I understand "Remote Management" function allows me to connect to linksys remotely from other place, from other internet.
So, now I know ip and port of linksys, but how to connect? Have I done all preparation for this?
    Thank you

I'm not familiar with this type of device but I checked it and found out that it's a Cisco product. I'd rather you post it to their community site so you can get this resolved. Here's the link: https://supportforums.cisco.com/search/site/spa2102?f[0]=is_top_level%3A5411
